The team of Trevor Hart and Ryan Hebert earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles.

Milford, 73 @ Canton, 53 – FinalMilford’s Hugo Lopes broke a 20-year old school record, running a 50.5 in the 400M and also anchored the Hawks’ 4×100 relay team to clinch the victory over the Bulldogs. Canton’s Junior Sainvil was first in both the 100M dash (11.2) and the long jump, and took second in the triple jump (40′). Lucca Terenzio was first in the triple jump for Canton (41’4), won the 110M hurdles (16.3), and took second in the long jump.

North Attleboro, 101 @ Foxboro, 34 – Final

Taunton, 23 @ Mansfield, 113 – FinalMansfield took first place in all but two events to run away with a win over Taunton and clinch the program’s third straight Kelley-Rex division title. Andrew Williams continued his stellar Spring season, winning three events: 110M hurdles (16.2), the long jump (21’0), and the high jump (5’10). Other winners for Mansfield included Anthony Comer (100M dash, 11.1), Owen Mullahy (1 Mile, 4:49.6), Jason Windvogel (400M, 52.1), Patrick Heavey (800M, 2:02.5), Joe Cappelletti (200M, 23.2), Mike Mullahy (2 Mile, 10:28.4), Ethan Thevenot (triple jump, 36’10), Colbey Eason (shot put, 49’7) and Dan Rapoza (javelin, 140’3). The Hornets also won both relays with the 4×100 (Thevenot, Cappelletti, Vinnie Holmes, Jack Barry) finishing in 47.4, and the 4×400 (Jack Moussette, Raffi Marzella, Stephen Saba, Windvogel) clocked in at 3:51.5.

Oliver Ames, 74 @ King Philip, 52 – FinalOliver Ames’ Aaron MacDonald finished the dual meet season with another terrific performance winning four events to help the Tigers beat King Philip. MacDonald won the 400M (52.3), the 200M (23.7), the triple jump (40’6), and the long jump (20’3) for the Tigers. Other winners for OA included Sean Flaherty (400M hurdles, 59.4) Ryan Petrillo (110M hurdles, 16.1), Rory McLaughlin (800M, 2:06.0), and Quinn Proudler (javelin, 123’0). OA’s 4×100 relay team (Ashton Hart, Jaiden Daly, Chucky Akanegbu, Harrison Webster) won in a time of 47.0.

Milford, 66 @ Canton, 61 – FinalCanton’s Chloe Pennacchio and Maddie Rousseau each won a pair of events and placed in another but the Hawks squeaked out the victory. Pennacchio took first in the 1 Mile (5:46) and the 2 Mile (12:54) while taking third in the shot put. Rousseau won both the 100M hurdles (15.3) and the triple jump (31’6) while taking third in the long jump (15’8.5). Sarah Collins was also a double winner for the Bulldogs, taking first in the 400M hurdles and the 400M.

Taunton, 29 @ Mansfield, 107 – FinalMansfield senior Amanda Mangano won four events, classmate Julia Hill won three events and the Hornets had three freshman win to earn a big win over Taunton and the program’s first division title since 2016. Mangano took first in the 100M (12.6), the 200M (26.0), the long jump (15’11), and the high jump (5’0) while Hill crossed first in the 400M hurdles (70.7), the 100M hurdles (17.8), and won the triple jump (34’1.25″). Freshman Caitlin Dumouchel set a new PR by nearly a foot, winning the javelin (92’1), Kate Miller took five seconds off her best time winning the 1 Mile (5:29.9), and Maria Sevastos crossed first in the 400M (64.2). Other winners for Mansfield included Grace Doyle (800M, 2:28.9) and Jessica Alestock (2 Mile, 12:31.0 [PR]). The Hornets also swept the relays, the 4×100 (Emily Quitzau, Alexis Kiyanda, Gabrielle Devlin, Lindsey Golden) winning in 52.3 and the 4×400 (Sevastos, Mikaela Maughn, Miller, Doyle) clocking in at 4:48.9.

Steph Trendell had a pair of doubles and a home run to pace the Canton offense while Nikki Desjardins added two singles and a home run. Caroline Hughes and Sophia Santos combined to preserve the win in the circle.

Sharon, 67 @ Canton, 68 – FinalCanton’s Junior Sainvil won a pair of events and took second in two more to help the Bulldogs edge Sharon by a point. Sainvil won the 100M dash (11.0) and the triple jump (44’5”) and came in second in booth the long jump (18’) and the 200M (23.2). Lucca Terenzio won the 110M hurdles (16.8) and took second in the triple jump (42’), and Jonathan Chery won the 200M (22.9). The Bulldogs swept the relays, with the 4×100 (Gersom Rivera, Cam Sanchez, Terenzio, Chery) finishing in 45 seconds and the 4×400 (James Vo, Nate Rose, Mike Mazzola, Zach Goldstein) clocking in at 3:44.7.

Williams won the 110M hurdles (16.5), the long jump (20’11”), and the high jump (6’2”), Comer crossed the line first in the 100M dash (11.5) and the 200M (23.0), Mike Mullahy was the winner in the 1 Mile (4:48.5) and brother Owen secured first in the 2 Mile with a time of 10:43.1. Colby Eason won the shot put by more than five feet (50’2”) and other winners for the Hornets included Dan Rapoza in the javelin (140’9”), the 4×100 team (Ethan Thevenot, Joe Cappelletti, Vinnie Holmes, Jack Barry;45.9) and the 4×400 relay team (Jack Moussette, Stephen Saba, Chris Verros, Raffi Marzella). For Oliver Ames, Aaron MacDonald won two events (400M, 51.4; triple jump, 40’2.5”) won two events while Sean Flaherty (400M hurdles, 60.1), Zane Reservitz (800M, 2:01.0), and Anthony DeCosta (discus, 101’9”) each one once.

Also winning for Canton were Bronwyn Mahoney (discus, 82’8.5”’ shot put, 31’3.5”) and the Bulldogs’ 4×400 team (Chloe Pennacchio, Annie Hoban, Gabby McDuffie, Rosana Cho; 4:34.2).

Senior Amanda Mangano took first in four individual events: the 100M dash (12.7), the 200M (25.6), the long jump (16-9), and the high jump (4-10). Other winners for Mansfield included Meghan Johnston (1 Mile, 5:34.8), Maria Sevastos (400M, 64.1), Tessa Lancaster (2 Mile, 12:19.8), Julia Hill (triple jump, 34-0), and Kerina Geminiani (shot put, 28-3). Mansfield’s 4×100 relay (Alexis Kiyanda, Emily Quitzau, Gabrielle Devlin, Lindsey Golden) finished in 53 seconds while the 4×400 (Sevastos, Mikaela Maughn, Grace Doyle, Bryn Anderson) finished in 4:27.9.

Jonah Manso (first singles), Alex Pfeffer (second singles), and the team of Vikram Senthilakumaran and Tomas Bentley (first doubles) each won 6-0, 6-0. OA’s Yusaf Hameed won 2-6, 6-2, 10-4 at third singles.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames’ second doubles team of Erika Mekler and Sarah Barron battled to win a pair of close sets to give the Tigers a 3-2 win over visiting North Attleboro. Mekler and Barron won 6-4, 7-5 to secure OA’s third point, with Sarah Leger (first singles, 6-0, 6-1) and Maura Kiernan (second singles, 6-2, 6-0) also winning for OA. North Attleboro’s Olivia Wills won 6-2, 6-4 at third singles while the team of Sam Martino and Haley Strom earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at first doubles.

Stoughton, 5 @ Attleboro, 6 – FinalStoughton jumped ahead 5-0 after an inning but the Bombardiers chipped away, tying the game and then walking off with the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh inning. Junior Alvaro Espinal knocked in Max Amaral with a two-out RBI single in the seventh for the winning run. Nick McMahon (3.2 innings) and Anthony Deyesso (3 innings, win) were stellar in relief for Attleboro.

Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 6 – FinalTaunton senior Jack Moynihan earned the win on the mound and had a strong day at the plate to lead the Tigers to a win over visiting Foxboro. Moynihan tossed six scoreless inning, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out six to earn the win. Offensively, Moynihan went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Logan Lawrence had three hits, including a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored for Taunton. Freshman Tom Marcucella had two hits for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames scored two runs in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and added another run for insurance to secure a 4-1 win over visiting North Attleboro. Jake Erlich (two doubles), Jared Spillane (two runs), and Sean O’Brien (who had a great defensive game) each had two hits for the Tigers. Reid Latham earned the win for OA, allowing just four hits and striking out four in 6.1 innings of work. Nick Boudreau picked up the save for OA.

Attleboro, 7 @ Stoughton, 8 – FinalStoughton outlasted Attleboro in a tight game to earn its second win of the season. Karly Estremera had an impressive day at the plate, hitting three triples, scoring three runs and recording one RBI while Bri Ferrandiz added three hits and two RBI. Jordan Lyons, Nicole Baker, Nikki Coppola (two singles), Sarah McGrath, and Sydney Menz all contributed hits for the Black Knights.

Ryan Gordon won 6-2, 6-7 (9), 6-1 at third singles, the team of Jack O’Donnell and Eli Araujo picked up a 6-1, 6-1 decision at first doubles, and Tyler Evans and Ryan Solari teamed up for a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles. Stoughton’s Waseem Sablon won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Erik Anderson earned a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles.

Taunton, 2 @ Foxboro, 3 – FinalFoxboro earned two wins in singles action and one more in doubles play to notch a win over Taunton. Jason Kandula rallied for a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1 win at second singles to secure the victory for the Warriors while Bo Canfield grabbed a 7-5, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of Brian Gardner and Sean McAvoy won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles. Taunton’s Brett Beaulieu won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and the team of Barrett Hodgson and Tyler Goddard won 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 at second doubles.

King Philip, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final King Philip lost a total of four games in singles action in a sweep on the road over Milford. Marco DiStefano won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Nick Putney picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and Jack Cannon recoded a 6-1, 6-0 decision at third singles. The team of Nate Ihley and Zak Ryan won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles while Jake Mager and Andy Cook prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 4 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Foxboro won all three singles matches in straight sets on its way to a victory on the road. Pam Nelson (6-0, 6-1), Sarah Prag (6-1, 6-4), and Julia Muise (6-0, 7-5) swept singles action for the Warriors. Kendall Milender and Paige Krockta earned Foxboro’s fourth point with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-2 win at first doubles. Taunton’s Ogechi Ariguzo and Kayla Parrett won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles.

Sharon, 5 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalSharon’s Lauren Glass won a super tiebreaker at third singles to help the Eagles complete a sweep on the road. Senior Nupur Shukla (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Valeria Barajas (6-0, 6-1) each won at first and second singles, respectively, while Glass secured a 2-6, 7-5, 10-3 win at third singles. The team of Sophia Fein and Sachi Basin won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles while Sree Dandu and Makaila Cheung earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Williams on the high jump (6’4) and the long jump (20’3″) while taking second in the 110M hurdles (16.7). Sophomore Anthony Comer was also a double winner, taking first in the 100M dash (11.0) and 200M dash (22.8.). Dan Knight (PR of 52.1), Tyler King, and Jack Rivard swept the 400M while Jason Windvogel (2:02) and Peter Oldow (2:06) went 1-2 in the 800. Patrick Heavey (4:40) and Pete Sullivan (4:41) finished first and second, respectively, in the 1 Mile.

Canton, 81 @ Foxboro, 54 – FinalCanton’s Deyontai Dennis won three individual events and was a member of a winning relay team, pacing the Bulldogs to a win over Foxboro. Dennis took first in the high jump, the long jump, the 400M hurdles, and anchored the Bulldogs’ 4×400 relay team. Tommy Pulcini was first in the shot put and second in the discus while Junior Sainvil took first in the triple jump and the 100M dash, and second in the long jump and 200M.

Attleboro, 42 @ Mansfield, 94 – Final – Mansfield’s Amanda Mangano took first in three individual events and was a member of the winning 4×100 relay team in the Hornets’ big win over Attleboro. Mangano won the 100M (12.6), the long jump (16-3), and the high jump (5-0) while teaming up with Alexis Kiyanda, Emily Quitzau, and Zoe Plante to win the 4×100 (52.3). Julia Hill was a double winner, crossing first in the 400M hurdles (71.6) and the triple jump (34-2). Freshman Katie Miller won the 800M (2:30.8) and freshmen Maria Sevastos (64.3) and Anna Darlingto (64.6)n took first and second, respectively, in the 400.

Canton, 51 @ Foxboro, 85 – FinalFor Canton, Maddie Rousseau won the 200, the long jump, and the triple jump while taking second in the 100. Sarah Collins was also a double winner for the Bulldogs, grabbing the top spot in the 400M hurdles and the 400M. Chloe Pennacchio was second in the 1 Mile, 2 Mile, and the shot put.

Erti helped her own cause with a pair of hits, including a double, while Olivia Capobianco hit a home run, Ashley Cangiano had two doubles, and Annabelle Hebard added two hits. Katie Daby had a strong day at the plate, going 3-for-3, Andrea Miceli had a two-run double, and Emily Pastore had a hit and three runs scored.

Milford, 28 @ Sharon, 2 – Final (5 inn.)Emily Piergustavo went 3-for-3, including a grand slam, and scored four runs to lead the Hawks to a big win. Kate Irwin and Jess Tomaso each had three hits in the game, including a two-run home run each. Amanda Wenckus and Megan Hart each had their first varsity hit in the win. Jody Goldenberg scored one of Sharon’s runs and drove in the second.

The team of Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske were ahead 4-0 in the first set before winning by forfeit. Milford’s Julie Rabinowitz won 6-2, 6-4 at first singles and the team of Megan Larouco and Angela Pillarella won 6-4, 6-3 at second doubles for the Hawks.

OA’s 4×100 (Jared Boone, Chucky Akanegbu, Aaron MacDonald, Kalil Matier) and 4×400 relay (Zane Reservitz, Ethan Eckstrom, Matt Campbell, Jason Windvogel) both placed first.

King Philip, 33 @ Mansfield, 103 – FinalMansfield’s Mike Shannon, Jareme DiLorenzo, and Kevin McCree all won a pair of events to help the Hornets score a big win over King Philip. Shannon won the 400M hurdles (57.56) and the 400M (50.7), DiLorenzo was first in the 110M hurdles (15.3) and the long jump (21’2.5″), and McCree won the shot put (44’10”) and the discus (120′ 5″). The Hornets also swept both relays with the 4×100 relay (Khristian Conner, Greg Waters, Colin Eutsay, Joe Cappelletti) and the 4×400 relay (Dan Knight, Tyler King, Jack Rivard, Nick Horn) each taking first.

Canton, 70 @ Foxboro, 66 – FinalCanton freshmen Maddie Rousseau led the way with 18 points while Olivia Rodman notched 14 points in the Bulldogs win over Foxboro. Rousseau won three events, taking first in the 100M, qualifying for states in the 200M, and first in the long jump (15’4.25″) while taking second in the triple jump (31’3.5). Rodman won the 400M (64) and the triple jump (31’6″) while taking second in the 400M hurdles and third in the long jump. Sarah Collins added two wins (400M hurdles and 800M) while Bronwyn Mahoney won the shot put (31’10”) and discus (74’4″).

King Philip, 56 @ Mansfield, 80 – FinalMansfield celebrated Senior Day on Tuesday afternoon, with seniors Julia Harrison and Madison Haughey winning their final matches on the Mansfield High track. Harrison won the 100M and was a member of the winning 4×100 team while also taking second in the long jump. Haughey won the 100M hurdles, took second in the triple jump, and placed third in the high jump. Freshman Tessa Lancaster ran a 13-second PR in the mile to take first (5:38.5), junior Amanda Mangano was a two-time winner (200M, long jump), and junior Julia Hill had a 1’3″ PR in the triple jump to take first. Joining Harrison on the winning 4×100 relay team was Gabrielle Devlin, Emily Quitzau, and Samantha Hindman.

North Attleboro, 6 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final North Attleboro scored all six of its runs in the top of the third inning to extend its unbeaten start to the season. Nick Sinacola started things with a walk, Jeff Gale reached on an infield single and Zach DeMattio walked to load the bases. Both Sinacola and Gale scored on an error and then Brendan McHugh knocked in Nate Pearce (2-for-3). Both Pearce and McHugh came around to score on a single from Nick Raneri (3-for-4), who crossed home for the sixth run on an error. Attleboro plated its two runs on three hits in the bottom of the third. Sinacola earned the win on the mound, striking out seven with three walks and three hits allowed. Attleboro sophomore Ryan Morry was strong in relief, allowing just two hits in 4.2 innings of work with no runs allowed.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalJake Noviello allowed just one run in six innings of work, struck out six, walked four, and scattered four hits to lead the Panthers to a win on the road. Bryan Woelfel earned the win, pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Cooper Ross paced the offense, going 2-for-2 and scoring a pair of runs while Jack Nally had two RBI and Scott Elliott chipped in with a double and a run scored.

Sharon, 1 @ Mansfield, 9 – FinalHockomock League leading hitter Dan Saraceno continued his stellar start to the season, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored to help the Hornets pick up a big win on the road. After Sharon took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, Mansfield plated four runs in the third, two more in the fourth and three in the fifth inning. Seniors Tyler Dalton (1-for-2, run) and Cullin Anastasia, juniors Mike Hargadon (2-for-2, two runs) and Sam Nugent (two runs), and sophomore Chris Jenkins (1-for-3, run) each knocked in a run for Mansfield. Sharon’s Drew Naisuler went 3-for-3 and scored on an RBI single from Max Tarlin. Mansfield sophomore John Carney earned the win in his first career start, striking out six with just one walk in five innings of work. He allowed just four hits and one unearned run.

Milford, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 16 – Final (5 inn.)Oliver Ames pushed across six runs in the first inning and never looked back in a big win over the Hawks. Milford took the lead in the top of the first but OA’s bats came to life in the bottom half. Chris Pearsons went 4-for-4 with two RBI, Matt Muir was 4-for-4 with an RBI, and Nick Bloumbas went 3-for-4 with an RBI for OA. Michael Mulrean earned the win, allowing one walk and one hit in five innings of work, striking out six.

Attleboro, 3 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final (8 Inn.)Annabelle Hebard led off the eighth inning with a double and scored the game-winning run (her third run scored in the game) on a ball hit by Katie Daby, who also drove in a run with a second inning triple. Emily Nardelli drove in a run for North with a double in the fourth and Abby Gallagher and Olivia Capobianco each recorded two hits for the Rocketeers. Bella Erti went the distance to pick up the win and struck out 10. McKenzie Bergdoll and Makenzie Killough each hit homers for the Bombardiers.

Milford, 12 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Milford’s Kelley Reichert was nearly perfect, allowing just one hit in the top of the fifth to earn the win in the circle. Reichert took the perfect game into the fifth but a leadoff single from Katie Mills broke it up. Reichert struck out five and helped her cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a double. Emily Hartman added three hits, including a double, and an RBI, Emily Piergustavo had two RBI, including a solo home run, Maddy Bonvino went 2-for-2 with a double, Shannon Cormier added two hits and two RBI and Kate Irwin (three stolen bases) also had an RBI.

King Philip, 13 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalKing Philip set the tone early, scoring nine runs in the first inning on its way to a big win on the road at Sharon. Marjorie Guerrier, Lillianna Rolfe, Nicole Carter, Allie Kuchy, Destiny Goyco all had two hits to lead the way. Faith Turinese allowed just one hit while striking out eight batters in five innings of work.

Canton, 5 @ North Attleboro, 7 – FinalCanton dominated the first half and held a 2-0 lead but North was able to tie it up in the second half and scored two late goals to earn the win. “Our defense played well and our young middies stepped up and got it done,” said North Attleboro head coach Kevin Young. “Hats off to Canton, I thought they outplayed us. Fortunately. our guys held it together and earned a scrappy win.” Dan Conroy scrapped his way to a ground ball and tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth. After Canton retook the lead, Damien Curtis tied it 5-5. Nick Ward scored the game-winner for the Rocketeers with 3:30 left and Tommy Lindstrom sealed the deal with an empty net with 1:30 to go.

Junior Julia Hill had a 7-inch PR in the long jump to win with a jump of 16’7 and running a three second PR in the 400 hurdles for a second place in a time of 69.4. The Hornets’ 4×100 team of Gabrielle Devlin, Emily Quitzau, Samantha Hindman, Julia Harrison had a season-best time of 50.4 while sophomore Lily Goulding took first in the javelin (95’4″).

Big Blue scored on a bases-loaded walk, a two-run error and Dylan Maskell came through with an RBI single to give Attleboro a 4-2 lead. Matt Callahan (two hits) delivered an RBI triple in the sixth inning for Attleboro. Sophomore Eoin Kelleher earned the win with a complete game effort, allowing five hits while retiring five batters on strikes.

Softball
Taunton, 11 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalTaunton senior Courtney Fisher tossed a perfect game, retiring all 21 batters that she faced, in the Tigers’ win. Fisher struck out eight and made a terrific play, snagging a line drive up the middle with one out in the seventh, to preserve the perfect game. THS head coach Dave Lewry said Hannah Aldrich also made a great play in the first, playing a bad hop grounder off her chest and gunning the runner out at first. Jaime Brown was 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI, MacKenzie Handrahan went 2-for-3 with an RBI, freshman Jaylin Couto went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a home run and eighth grader McKenzie McAloon had two hits, a stolen base and an RBI for the Tigers.
