Franklin, 3 @ Medway/Ashland, 3 – Final (OT)Franklin freshman Julia Flynn scored a hat trick to help the Panthers erase a two-goal deficit and earn a tie. Flynn tipped in a shot from Shaw Downing to put the Panthers ahead but Medway/Ashland scored three straight to stake a 3-1 in the third period. Flynn scored twice in short succession (assists from Katie LeBlanc and Ava Vilella) to tie it 3-3, where it stayed through an extra overtime period. Izzy Brown had a strong game in net for Franklin.

Hingham Quad (Foxboro), 9:00

Westford Academy Tri-meet (Franklin) – Franklin had a successful showing on Saturday, pinning down wins over both Westford Academy (66-18) and Algonquin (40-36). Matthew Leaman, Riley Carlucci, Brendan Collins, Ahmed Jawando, Jonathan Owen, Alex Fracassa, Alex Foley, Augustus Granata, Ryan Parlon and Nolan Sheridan each had a pinfall victory on the day.

Midland Duals (King Philip), 10:00 (@ Quabbin High)

Milton Quad (Oliver Ames) – Oliver Ames swept all four matches at the Milton quad and had five grapplers pick up a win in each match on Saturday. The Tigers had a dominant win over Excel Academy (73-6) while also pinning down victories over Walpole (66-18), Norwood (56-21), and host Milton (47-33). Elyor Ruzmatov (113), Victor Romeiro (120), Nathan Lipski (132), DJ Lipski (160), and Jaden Hinton (285) all went 4-0 for the Tigers.

Marlboro Quad (Sharon) – Sharon continued its momentum from its big dual meet over OA earlier this week into the weekend, picking up three more impressive wins. The Eagles earned wins over Marlboro (54-21), Essex Tech/Masconomet (49-24), and St. John’s Shrewsbury (57-15). Ashmith Yeruva, Adam Landstein, Cam Birnbaum, Nick Varvak, Kyle Samuels, Aaron Cashton, Philip Varvak, and Cormac Horlbogen all went undefeated for the Eagles.

Methuen Quad (Mansfield, Taunton) – Taunton split its two meets at Metheun, picking up a win over Silver Lake (72-6) but fell to the host Rangers (45-33). Brandon Mendes, Xavier Sandoval, Ben Mandeville, Christian Balmain, Ethan Harris, and Logan Frankl each picked up a pair of wins for the Tigers while Michael Leskoski, Ryan Jones, Anthony Vieira, Brian Haen, John Mandeville, Elijah Prophete, and Robert Tran each won once.

Boys Basketball
Sharon, 76 @ Oliver Ames, 61 – FinalSharon scored 22 points in the opening quarter to build a double-digit lead that it never relinquished for its first win over Oliver Ames since 2016. Senior Will Hippler, junior Matt Baur, and sophomores Nate Katznelson and Jacob McLaughlin all connected from three-point range in the opening eight minutes as the Eagles shot nearly 60% from the field to establish a 22-11 lead. Katzneslon, McLaughlin and junior Jack Bates each added a three in the second for the Eagles, who hit seven of their 12 threes in the first half. Baur finished with a team-high 16 points and five rebounds to lead the way for Sharon, who held a 37-25 lead at half and a 55-35 lead going into the fourth quarter. Katznelson added 15 points and eight rebounds, McLaughlin finished with 13 points and five assists, and senior John Baez had eight points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Zach Tagliamonte led OA with a game-high 17 points and five rebounds while senior Drew Baxter and freshman Cole Craffey each had 10 points.

Boys Hockey
Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalMansfield exploded for four goals in the second period to skate away with a league win over Attleboro. Senior Dillon Benoit scored a pair of goals for the second straight game, senior Ryan Doherty added one, and freshman Matt Tourigney scored his first career goal. The Hornets went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, improving to 9-for-9 on the kill in league games this year.

Canton, 2 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Canton sophomore Brian Middleton scored the game-winning goal with just over three minutes left in the third period to help the Bulldogs avenge its loss to Franklin from earlier this season, this one in league action.

North Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 2 – Final

Taunton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalSophomore Andrew Livingstone scored twice and junior Brandon Burke recorded 30 saves to help Oliver Ames edge out Taunton. Junior Noah Isleib scored his first career goal while sophomore Jack Corey scored once. Junior Sean McCarthy recorded two assists while junior Jack Perron, sophomores Matt Lawson and Jake Cunningham, and freshman Patrick DeLoughrey each had one assist.

Stoughton vs. Cardinal Spellman, 0 – FinalFour different players lit the lamp as Stoughton skated to a shutout win over Cardinal Spellman. Aidan Obrock, Joe McNulty, Colin Alessi and Sean Farley each scored once for the Black Knights while Chris Andrade posted the shutout in goal.










Girls Hockey
Canton, 0 vs. Norwood, 3 – Final

Franklin, 2 vs. Dedham, 1 – FinalFranklin picked up its second win over Dedham in the past two weeks, this time with a 2-1 decision in regulation. Julia Flynn and Shaw Downing (from Maggie McCaffrey) scored for the Panthers while Izzy Brown had a great game in net to earn the win.

Stoughton/Sharon, 2 vs. Old Rochester, 8 – FinalMolly Corvino and Zoe Bangs each scored for the Black Knights while Ava Buckley registered an assist on each goal but Stoughton fell to Old Rochester.

Wrestling
Canton, 24 @ Silver Lake, 51 – FinalAll four of Canton’s wins on the day were by pinfall, each earning six points but the Bulldogs fell on the road to Silver Lake. Yurii Leskiv (113, 2:14), Max Kupferman (126, 0:34), Cillian Collins (182, 1:52), and Ruairi Ritson (195, 4:28) each won for Canton.

Panther Invitational (Foxboro, King Philip), 10:00 (@ Whitman-Hanson) – King Philip had five finalists and two individual champions to take first place in the Panther Invitational held at Whitman-Hanson. The Warriors had a total of 140.5 points while second place Milton had 131 points. Foxboro had 47 points. Hunter Hastings won all three of his matches by pinfall, including the 195-pound championship with a fall in 1:52 in the championship round. After a bye in the first round, heavyweight Dan Nineve won the semifinal by pin in 1:37 and then took the championship with a pin in 3:24. Sam Debaggis (126), Colby Cloutier (152), and William Conniff (170) each finished second for the Warriors while Lodan Wells (120) took third and Michael Gorman (145) took fourth. Foxboro’s Maxwell Kornbluth (160) and Ryan Addeche (170) finished third while Adam Addeche (120) and Sebastian Zerpa Aguilar (285) finished fourth.

Norton Quad (Mansfield, Taunton) – Taunton senior captain Christian Balmain became just the second wrestler in program history to reach 100 wins and the Tigers went 3-0 on the day at the Norton Quad, beating the host Lancers (50-24), Mansfield (61-15), and Quabbin (72-12). Balmain, who wrestles at 152, earned a forfeit win, a major decision (12-4) over Norton, and a pinfall in 1:20 against Mansfield. Michael Leskoski (106), Xavier Sandoval (138), Ethan Harris (182), Avery Justa (195) also went 3-0 on the day while Ryan Jones (113), Brandon Mendes (126), Anthony Vieira (132), Ben Mandeville (145), John Mandeville (160), Charlie Rabel (170), Peter Ye (220), and Robert Tran (285) each won twice.

St. John’s Prep Super Quad (North Attleboro) – North Attleboro picked up three wins on the day, pinning down victories over Bridgewater-Raynham (42-36), Marblehead/Swampscott (55-24), and Beverly (51-24). Three Rocketeers won all three of their matches with Braxton Ferro (132) and Christopher Galligan (138) each grabbing three pinfalls and Jaad Ismail (170) had two pins and one decision. Tanner Ferguson (120), Tyler Tobias (126), Masen Oyola (145), Benjamin Lodi (160), Greg Berthiaume (182), Austin Dean (195), and Keysun Wise (285) each won twice for North.

Sharon Quad (Sharon) – Sharon picked up three wins at home, beating Belmont (57-24), Concord-Carlisle (48-27), and Catholic Memorial (54-18). Vehnil Rangaraman, Adam Landstein, Cam Birnbaum, Nick Varvak, Aaron Cashton, Philip Varvak, and Cormac Horlbogen all went undefeated for the Eagles on the day.

Franklin, 2 vs. Longmeadow, 2 – Final (OT)Freshman Julia Flynn scored with just under seven minutes left in the game to pull even, helping the Panthers grab a point over a scoreless overtime period. Franklin took the lead when Avery Greco lit the lamp, assisted by Shaw Downing and Molly Hurley. Izzy Brown had a great game in net while head coach Margie Burke noted it was a great team effort.

Boys Basketball
Franklin, 53 vs. Worcester North, 42 – FinalFranklin held just a one-possession lead with just under five minutes to go in the game but limited Worcester North to just two points over the final 4:47, finishing the contest on a 10-2 run to get the win. The Panthers trailed after one (12-9) but took a one-point lead (20-19) into halftime, and a four-point lead (37-33) into the final quarter. Sophomore Henry Digiorgio scored six of his game-high 22 points in the final quarter and senior Sean Vinson added seven of his 12 points in the fourth. Franklin hit 12 three-pointers on the day, with Digiorgio sinking five, Vinson and Andrew O’Neill each with two, and Ben Harvey, Justin Allen, and Sean O’Leary all adding one.

Sharon, 65 vs. Waltham, 50 – FinalSharon tightened it up defensively in the fourth and turned it on offensively in the same frame to pull away from Waltham to claim the Clocker Classic Championship. The Eagles were locked in a tight battle with Waltham, leading slightly after one (15-12) and three (40-38), and tied at halftime (25-25). Sophomore Nate Katznelson delivered a career-high 21 points, scoring 14 in the second half. Sophomore Jacob McLaughlin added a career-high 14 points, half coming in the third quarter, and senior Matt Baur finished strong with 11 of his 16 points coming in Sharon’s decisive 25-point fourth quarter.










Girls Basketball
King Philip, 51 vs. Chicopee, 57 – FinalKP fell behind by eight points after the first quarter and couldn’t catch Chicopee Comp to lose for the first time this season. The Warriors struggled to contain Chicopee’s top scorers Yamirelis Natos (19 points) and Nicole Rodriguez (game-high 20 points, including four threes). After Chicopee took the first 18-10, KP rallied to cut the lead in half by the break. In the third quarter, Chicopee extended the lead back to seven. The fourth quarter was a shootout, as KP scored 19 points in an attempt to come from behind, but Rodriguez scored nine of Chicopee’s 18 to hold off the Warriors. Emily Sawyer scored a team-high 17 points, including nine in the second quarter. Liv Lafond added 15, 12 of them coming in the second half, and Jackie Bonner scored 10, knocking down three from the outside. The trio combined for 17 of KP’s 19 points during the fourth quarter.

North Attleboro, 42 vs. Durfee, 44 – FinalDurfee grabbed an offensive rebound and scored as time expired to pull out the win in the final of Taunton’s holiday tournament. Even with leading scorer Summer Doherty limited with two early fouls, North went into halftime down just 22-20. The Rocketeers never trailed by more than five points after the break. Sam Sweeney knocked down a big three with 1:15 left to play that cut the Durfee lead down to two. After a big defensive stop, Katie Corsetti was fouled going to the basket and hit both free throws to tie the game. Ava McKeon and Taylor McMath both led the Rocketeers with eight points apiece, and McMath also added eight offensive rebounds. Sweeney and Doherty each finished with seven points and Doherty was named to the all-tournament team.

Taunton, 34 vs. Holliston, 37 – FinalAfter scoring only eight points in the opening half, Taunton rallied after halftime to close the gap and nearly pull off a come from behind win in the consolation round of its holiday tournament. Jillian Doherty scored four of Taunton’s eight points before the break. The Tigers then came out in the third quarter and scored 15 as a team, adding 11 more in the fourth. A day after scoring 28 against Durfee, Kameron St. Pierre took a little while to get going against the Panthers but exploded for 11 of her team-high 13 points in the second half to help with the comeback. Cali Melo added all nine of her points in the second half and Lexi Haywood knocked down a big three.

King Philip, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalAfter trading goals in the first two periods, Franklin scored with just under three minutes to play to give the Panthers a league win over King Philip. Franklin jumped ahead in the first period but KP knotted the score before the buzzer. The Warriors took their first lead but this time it was Franklin who leveled the game just moments later in the second period. Molly Hurley, Lynsey Dennett, and Haley Wernig scored for Franklin while Dennett, Hurley and Dana Stott each had an assist. Izzy Brown had a standout performance in net for Franklin.

Boys Swimming
Attleboro, 106 @ Seekonk, 67 – Final Attleboro won eight of the 12 events, including four wins from Matt Marcil, Ryan Connors, and Ben Connors, in a big win over Seekonk. Marcil touched first in both the 100 free and 100 back, Ryan Connors won the 100 fly and 200 IM, and Ben Connors was the winner in the 100 breast and 200 free (followed by Andrew Greaves). Those three were joined by Zach Dorrance to win both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Matt Brewster and Ayden Moore took second and third, respectively, in a photo finish in the 50 free.

Attleboro, 76 @ Seekonk, 99 – FinalZuri Ferguson was a double winner for Attleboro but the Bombardiers fell in a non-league matchup with Seekonk. Ferguson won both the 200 free and 100 back, Ella Lynch Bartek took first in the 100 free and finished second in the 50 free, Sydney Dorval added a pair of second place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 fly, Caroline Lynch Bartek was second in the 500 free, and Abbi Rodriques took second in the 100 breast.
