Milford, 3 @ Stoughton, 9 – FinalStoughton improved to 3-1 on the season with a win over visiting Milford on Friday. Nicole Baker picked up the win in the circle for the Knights, allowing six hits and striking out eight in a complete game effort. Mel Casna drove in a pair of runs on two hits, Cat Leal added two hits, including a double, and had an RBI, and freshmen Alyssa Edwards and Julie Powers each recorded two hits.

Mansfield, 10 @ King Philip, 16 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. In a game littered with penalties, Sam Mattson scored seven goals to power KP to its second win over the Hornets in three days. Jake Quirk opened the game with the first of his team-high four goals, but Mattson scored three straight (one man-down and two man-up) to grab the lead. Cody Gordon answered but Sean Crowther was credited with a goal that went off a Mansfield defender for a 4-2 lead after one. Goals by Colin Lightbody and Mattson extended the lead to four but Mansfield responded with three straight to get back into the game. Tommy Smith finished a give-and-go, Quirk scored man-up, and Nico Holmes scored a nice solo goal to make it 6-5. Again, KP had the answer. Mattson took a big hit to score in front and Crowther added a man-up score before the break. Mattson and Quirk traded goals to start the third and then Holmes got his second to make it 9-7. KP went on an 8-0 run to take control. Crowther scored a pair, Mattson got another, and then Benjamin Riggs added his first to put KP up 13-7 at the end of the quarter. Lightbody and Riggs kept the run going early in the fourth, before Holmes completed his hat trick. John Dwyer got one for KP and the Hornets closed out the game with goals from Grady Sullivan and Quirk. KP goalie James Boldy had a big game to keep the Hornets at arm’s length.

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 3 @ Milford, 20 – FinalFranklin continued its unbeaten start to the season with a big win on the road over the Scarlet Hawks. Kate O’Rourke led the offensive charge with four goals and one assist, Jamie Tanner added two goals and two assists, and Kaitlyn Carney added three goals and one assist. Anna Grasso had a strong game defensively for the Panthers.

King Philip, 17 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalThe Warriors pushed their undefeated start to four games with a big win on the road over Mansfield. Julia Marsden found the back of the net six times along with two assists to lead the KP offense. Lily Brown added three goals and two assists, Morgan Cunningham (assist) and Haley Izydorczak each scored a hat trick, and Ally Peterson and Nikki McDonald each scored once. Emily Campbell (three saves) and Maddie Crowley (one save) split the win in net.

Boys Volleyball
Milford vs. Norton, 5:00

King Philip, 3 @ Bellingham, 0 – FinalKing Philip went on the road and earned a 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-21, 25-15) over host Bellingham. “The team played really well together we are starting to work out the kinks and work cohesively which is really great to see,” said KP head coach Emily Diiulis. Senior Thomas Beck and junior Carson Mitteness each had key service runs during the match. Senior Joshua Saintilus had a strong showing for the Warrior with some strong swings from the outside.

Attleboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCanton junior Andrew Middleton tossed a perfect game, recording 16 strikeouts along the way to lead the Bulldogs to a season-opening win.

Taunton, 11 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalTaunton broke open a two-run game with a big sixth inning and never looked back to start the season with a win, running the program’s current win streak to 10 games dating back to the 2019 season. The Tigers scored once in the top of each the first and second innings before exploding for seven runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh inning. Senior Danny MacDougall got it done both offensively and on the mound for the visitors, knocking in a pair of runs and scoring twice while tossing five scoreless innings. He struck out six with just one hit allowed and no walks to earn the win. Matthew Ferrara pitched two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts. Sophomore Ryan MacDougall had a strong debut for Taunton, going 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI, Jack Gobin added two hits, and senior Bretton Heggs started his final season in style by going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two walks.

Sharon, 6 @ Milford, 3 – Final (9 Inn.)Sharon’s Elliot Pototsky knocked in a pair of runs with a base-hit in the top of the ninth inning to break a tie game and help the Eagles open the season with a win. JD Rittenberg, who had two hits including a double, came on in relief and pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out seven to get the win. Justin Brown also had two hits for the Eagles, including a triple, while Dylan Labbe was solid on the mound, striking out seven with one earned run allowed in five innings of work. For Milford, Mario Lee (double, two walks), Tyler Lane (triple, run scored), and Sean McGee (RBI) each had two hits.

Canton, 2 @ Attleboro, 14 – Final (5 inn.)Attleboro’s offense was in midseason form, belting out 17 hits in a season-opening win over visiting Canton in the first game played on the new turf field on Drummond Street. Haley Perry set the tone from the leadoff spot, going 4-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Lindsey Perry, who had two hits including a two-run homer, earned her first win in the circle after giving up two unearned runs in five innings of work. Lora Woyton belted a three-run homer for the Bombardiers while freshman Riley Camacho (3-for-4, two-run home run) and Kayla Goldrick (2-for-3, two doubles) played well in their debut games.

Foxboro, 5 @ Franklin, 0 – FinalEighth grader Emma Callahan tossed a complete game shutout in her varsity debut, striking out one to help the Warriors win on the road. Senior Morgan Sylvestre paced the Foxboro offense (10 hits as a team), going 4-for-4 with two RBI while Peyton Feldman added two hits in the win. Senior Nicole Theriault came through with a big sacrifice in the third to set the Warriors up for runs.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Mansfield, 11 – FinalMansfield rallied from an early deficit, using a big fourth inning to grab control and start the season with a home win. OA jumped in front with three runs in the top of the first. The Hornets got one back in the home half, but Mansfield took the lead with an eight-run fourth inning. Five straight singles, a hit-by-pitch, a walk, and then back-to-back singles turned things around for Mansfield in a big rally. Freshmen Callie Lake (3-for-4), Jill Koppy (2-for-5), Olivia Madeira (2-for-4) and Molly Kucharski (1-for-3) each had hits in their debuts. Alanna Conley, Ashlyn Conley, and Nicole Kabosa had two hits apiece and Ashlyn Conley struck out six Tigers to pick up the win. The Hornets outhit OA 16-10. For OA, Maddie Homer went 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored while both Grace Simone and Lexi Galsband had two hits and a run scored.

North Attleboro, 9 @ King Philip, 11 – FinalKP opened the season with a win in a shootout against defending Davenport champ North Attleboro. It was an ideal start for the Warriors, who plated five runs in the first and went on to score in the second, third, and fifth innings. Senior Paige Berdos had three hits, including an RBI and a run scored, as KP totaled 13 hits as a team. Sophomore Libby Walsh (two RBI) and freshmen Jordan Bennett (run) and Maddie Paschke (two RBI) each had two hits for KP while junior Mia Bennett launched a three-run home run. For North, Kelly Colleran led the Rocketeers with four hits and drove in two. Zoey McDonough had a pair of hits, including a three-run homer, and Shaelyn Burns smashed a grand slam for North. Emily Nardelli and Ally Levine each had two hits and Mandi Hanewich scored a pair of runs in the loss.

Sharon, 5 @ Milford, 3 – FinalSharon grabbed a 3-2 lead after the first inning and never relinquished its advantage the rest of the way. For Milford, Camille Bonina (two RBI) and Grace Bonina each had two hits while Olivia Morelli struck out five with just one earned rune allowed in six innings of work.

Foxboro, 6 @ Franklin, 18 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game.Sophomores Luke Davis and Jayden Consigli combined for 10 goals in their Franklin debuts and senior Matt Lazzaro had five points, as the Panthers opened the season with a dominating home win. Davis got the Panthers off to a great start with a first quarter hat trick. Tim Walsh, Owen Kielty, and Consigli each added one as well for the Panthers and freshman Lincoln Moore got his first varsity goal for the Warriors who trailed 6-1 after one. Tommy Sharkey scored a man-up goal to start the second, but Franklin answered with seven straight goals to open a double-digit lead. Consigli had a hat trick in the second, two of them assisted by Davis, who added two goals of his own in the quarter. Mike Griffin and Lazzaro also scored in the run, before Foxboro got one back to make it 13-3 at the half. Lazzaro and Davis traded assists on each other’s goals to start the third, but freshman Connor Noone got his first career goal and Moore added his second. Conor O’Neil scored back-to-back goals to push the lead up to 12 in the fourth. Noone got his second of the day, but Ravin Chaudhury capped the scoring with his first with two minutes to go.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalMansfield opened the season in impressive fashion with a 15-5 win over visiting Oliver Ames. Senior Nico Holmes set the tone with a great game at the faceoff X and scored five goals. Thomas Norton added two goals and five assists, Jake Quirk scored a hat trick and added one helper, and Ryan DeGirolamo was terrific in goal for the Hornets, allowing just two even strength goals. OA junior Wyatt Fritchman led the offense for the Tigers with three goals and two assists while senior Ross Carroll added two goals and an assist.

Oliver Ames, 7 @ Mansfield, 12 – FinalMansfield broke open a tied game with a strong second half to pull out the win, the first for the Hornets under new coach Brittany Sherry. Ava Adams made an instant impact with four goals in her first varsity game. AnnMarie McCoy pulled down seven draw controls and Caitlyn Zajac made 11 saves for the Hornets, who outscored OA 8-3 after halftime.

North Attleboro, 4 @ King Philip, 16 – Final

Sharon, 12 @ Milford, 7 – FinalSharon opened the season with a road win. Jenna Goldstein led the way for the Eagles with four goals. Cass Barbera added a hat trick and Tess Letendre made nine saves to preserve the win. Molly McAlevey had a strong game in midfield for the Eagles.

Canton, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalCanton went on the road and grabbed a win in its first match of the season, taking down the host Bombardiers. Junior Suraj Ramanathan and freshman Max Kupferman each won in straight sets in singles while senior Minh Duong picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of Ethan Nguyen and Jalen Townsend earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles while Elias Jabbour and Charlie Doody teamed up for a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalFranklin swept both doubles matches in straight sets and added two more wins in singles action to open the season with a win over Foxboro. Senior Liam Marr won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles while junior Vayshnav Malhotra secured a 6-0, 6-2 decision at second singles. The team of Anish Gundimeda and Sameen Shaik earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles for the Panthers while Thomas Broyles and Jay Gorgas picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles. Foxboro’s Jason Kandula won 6-2, 6-2 at third singles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalThe Hornets won all three singles matches in straight sets and didn’t lose a game in doubles action to beat the visiting Tigers of Oliver Ames. Freshman Kailash Elumelai picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles, senior Dheeraj Valluru notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and senior Kai Schirmacher registered a 6-2, 6-2 decision at third singles. The team of senior Nikhil Lankipalle and sophomore Benson Delaney won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles while senior Adam Elsner and junior Jonah Fine won by the same score at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 5 @ King Philip, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro went on the road and opened the season in style, sweeping all five matches against King Philip. Seniors Jonah Manso (6-0, 6-2) and Sam Gallagher (6-1, 6-1) each won in straight sets at first and second singles, respectively, while junior Will Folan rallied for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-6 win at third singles. Seniors Connor Willis and Sayf Siddiq earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at first doubles while senior Niteesh Saravanan teamed up with sophomore Brody Carter for a 6-4, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Stoughton, 4 @ Taunton, 1 – Final Brothers Waseem and Rayan Sablon each won in straight sets without dropping a game to lead Stoughton to a season-opening win on the road at Taunton. Waseem notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles while Rayan won by the same score at second singles.

Sharon, 5 @ Milford, 0 – FinalSharon picked up right where it left off in league action, grabbing a 5-0 win on the road over Milford. Ruemon Bhattacharyya earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles for the Eagles while both Mehul Bhattacharyya (second singles) and Max Chen (third singles) took 6-0, 6-0 decisions. Sharon’s first doubles team of Matt Lally and Rithvik Neti claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win while the team of Mitch Weiss and Deyan Kassev prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles for the Eagles.

Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 4 – FinalCanton was on the winning end of a pair of marathon singles matches, defending home court with a 4-1 win over Attleboro. Rachel Kupferman (first singles, 6-0, 6-1) and the team of Lily Hazam and Olivia Durham (first doubles, 6-1, 6-2) both won in straight sets for the Bulldogs. Laura Correal prevailed 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 at second singles and Grace Powers came through with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win at third to help secure the win. Attleboro’s Kyra Johnson and Maddie Fulsado picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final Foxboro didn’t drop a game in singles action, sweeping all three matches and adding another win in doubles play to beat visiting Franklin. Athena Li (first singles), Pam Nelson (second singles), and Sarah Prag (third singles) all won 6-0, 6-0 while the team of Maggie McAuliffe and Abby Costa secured a 6-3, 6-2 win at first doubles. Franklin’s Amulya Jayam and Shriya Rajesh earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Mansfield, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalMansfield’s Alex Burnham prevailed in three sets at first singles, winning the match-clinching point as the Hornets won on the road at OA. Mansfield had wins from Aryanna Khosravani (6-3, 6-2) and Kate Martin 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 at second and third singles, respectively, while OA swept doubles action. Burham’s 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win at first singles clinched the third point for the win. OA’s Kate McLaughlin and Grace Houser won 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 at first doubles while Morgan Vailiou and Caroline Peper didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

King Philip, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalKing Philip won all three singles matches in straight sets and added another win in doubles action to take a win on the road at North Attleboro. The team of Ahunna James and Shea Mellman dropped just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win at first doubles for the Warriors. In sweeping singles action, Katarina Schneider won first singles 6-0, 6-0, Mia Valencia record a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles, and Sammie Taylor secured a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. North Attleboro’s Ashlyn Cziria and Teresa Fan won 6-3, 6-3 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 73 @ Canton, 59 – FinalFor Canton, Kyle Downing was a triple-winner and Deyontai Dennis won a pair of events and took second in another. Downing was first in the 1 Mile, the 2 Mile, and the high jump while Dennis won the triple jump and the 400M hurdles, adding a second place finish in the long jump.

Foxboro, 60 @ Canton, 76 – FinalCanton’s Maddie Rousseau broke her own school record in the 100M hurdles, taking first place with a time of 15.1 to lead the Bulldogs to a win over Foxboro. Rousseau also was first in the high jump (4’10) and took second in the 200M (26.4) and the long jump (15′ 6.5″). Kiara Cerruti was a double-winner for the Bulldogs, crossing first in both the 1 Mile (6:02.8) and the 800M (2:41.1).

#13 Stoughton, 67 @ #4 Scituate, 80 – FinalStoughton whittled a 21-point deficit down to a two-possession game in the third quarter but the fourth-seeded Sailors were able to pull away for the win. Scituate raced out to a 50-29 point lead at halftime, hitting eight three-point field goals over the first 16 minutes. The Black Knights opened the third quarter with a 20-5 burst, getting within six at 55-49 with 1:38 left in the third. Scituate went on a short 6-0 burst to finish the third and kept that lead the rest of the way. Senior Myles Grigalunas-Powell hit a pair of threes and scored eight of his team-high 19 points in the third while classmate Obinna Ugwuakazi had nine of his 16 points in the fame. Tahkwan Gates Brown added 14 points for the Black Knights. Stoughton’s John Gallivan coached in his final game as he will retire at the end of the school year. He spent 16 years as the head coach of the Black Knights, recording 176 wins and six league titles including a share of the 2020 Davenport division crown.

D1 Central
#6 Franklin, 66 @ #3 Natick, 63 – FinalAfter seeing its 12-point halftime lead disappear, and facing a 59-50 deficit on the road in the fourth quarter, Franklin pulled out an impressive win over the third-seeded RedHawks. A steal and layup from Natick’s Ryan Mela gave the hosts a 59-50 lead with 4:08 left, capping a wild 24-5 surge from Natick, which trailed 41-29 at half. But Franklin responded as senior Chris Edgehill (20 points) drained a pair of three-pointers and senior Brayden Sullivan (10 points) had a key steal and score that cut the deficit to just five. Edgehill hit one of his threes to make it 61-61 before Natick went back ahead. Junior Declan Walmsey hit a three with under a minute to play to give Franklin a 64-63 edge, and then sank two free throws with 3.7 seconds left to push it to 66-63. Natick’s last second shot was off the rim as the Panthers clinched the win. Steven Karayan added 10 points for Franklin, who advances to the D1 Central Semifinals on Sunday against #2 Worcester South, who prevailed 62-57 in overtime over #10 Wachusett. Franklin and South will tipoff from WPI at 5:00.

#13 Mansfield, 2 @ #4 Duxbury, 3 – FinalThe Hornets put the pressure on defending D1 South champion Duxbury, but the Dragons used a pair of second period goals to earn the win and advance. After Duxbury opened the scoring, Mansfield answered back with just two minutes left in the first. Chris Jenkins got the first for Mansfield, assisted by Cam Page and Jake Quirk. Duxbury scored twice in the final three minutes of the second period to take control, but the Hornets cut the lead in half thanks to a Liam Anastasia goal (assisted by Quirk) with six minutes to play.

Franklin, 6 vs. Bishop Feehan, 0 – Final Franklin seniors Gerard Collins and Ben Guzman combined for the shutout, allowing a combined six hits with neither issuing a walk to lead the Panthers to a win over visiting Bishop Feehan. Collins scattered five hits over four innings in his first career start to earn the win while Guzman picked up a three-inning save, allowing just one hit while stirking out one. Scott Elliott paced the offense with three hits, including a double, and two runs scored, Alex Haba added two hits, a run scored and knocked in a team-high four runs, and Cooper Ross had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored. JB Floris (RBI) and Joe Lizotte (run) each had a hit for Franklin.

Milford, 2 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip’s Terry Murray allowed just three hits in a complete game performance, helping the Warriors earn a win over visiting Milford. Murray struck out five with two unearned runs allowed in the fifth inning. King Philip scored all four of its runs in the fourth inning. Murray and David Morganelli each had two hits, while Chris Sawyer, Tom Weir, and Connor Cooke each had an RBI.

Softball
Mansfield, 5 @ Holliston, 0 – FinalSarah Cahill tossed a two-hit shutout for the Hornets to earn a win in the first of back-to-back games against the Panthers to close out the regular season. Cahill struck out 12 in the win. The game stayed scoreless until the fifth inning when the Hornets broke things open with a four-run rally. Sydney Woods led off with a walk and advanced twice on fielder’s choices. She scored the opening run on a Megan Letendre single. Mady Bendanillo drew a walk and then both runners came home on a Caty DeMassi double. Mary Muldoon completed the rally with an RBI-single. In the sixth, Mansfield added a fifth run when Bendanillo drew a bases loaded walk.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Dartmouth, 8 – Final (11 inn.)The Rocketeers fell just short in back-and-forth extra inning battle at Dartmouth. Ashley Cangiano had four hits for North Attleboro, including a double and a triple. Katie Daby and Bella Erti chipped in with three hits apiece while Annabelle Hebard had two hits and knocked in three runs. Both Daby and Cangiano initiated double plays while Hebard finished with six assists defensively.

Junior Tommy Vaughan had two goals with five assists, senior Griffin Roach notched a hat trick with one assist, Andrew Canto found the back of the net four times, and Davis Allen chipped in with a goal and one helper. Dan Cohen (goal), Chris Lavoie (assist), and Ben Guerini (assist) each had a point for the Bulldogs.

Milford, 4 @ Mansfield, 18 – FinalMansfield won its final game of the season, beating Milford to qualify for the state tournament. Brady Kessler led the way for the Hornets with four goals and three assists, Mike Reed (three assists) and Nico Holmes each scored a hat trick, and Jake Quirk netted one tally and had three helpers. Both Aidan Sacco and Connor Quirk found the back of the net twice for Mansfield, who finishes with an 8-8 record for tournament purposes.

Milford, 3 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalMilford won a pair of matches in singles action and one more in doubles play to edge Attleboro. Brendan O’Shaughnessy won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and Cam Doherty picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles. The team of Ben Johnson and Dylan Wang prevailed 7-5, 6-3 at second doubles to secure the win. North Attleboro, 5 @ Canton 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up a sweep on the road, winning all five matches in straight sets. Jonah Manso won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles while the team of Vikram Senthilakumaran and Tomas Bentley won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles. Alex Pfeffer (second singles), Sam Gallagher (third singles), and the team of Will Redding and Isa Siddiq (second doubles) all won 6-0, 6-0.

Mansfield, 4 @ Westwood, 1 – FinalThe Hornets won twice in singles action and twice in doubles play to beat Westwood in their regular season finale. Luke Nickerson didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and Luke Devine earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles. The team of Sethu Odayappan and Max Bank rallied for a 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles and Sam Donellan and Dheeraj Valluru emerged with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Canton, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalThe Bulldogs won all three singles matches and added a fourth point through a win at second doubles to knock off North Attleboro in their season finale. Rachel Kupferman (first singles) and Natalie Keppler (second singles) each won 6-0, 6-0 while Sarah Hernandez battled to a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles. Canton’s second doubles team of Kiara Cerruti and Lily Hazam won 6-1, 6-2. North Attleboro’s Haley Strom and Sam Martino won 6-4, 6-1 at first doubles.

King Philip, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalKing Philip went on the road and swept singles action, grabbing a fourth point with a win at first doubles to close the regular season with a win over Oliver Ames. Erin Regnier didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles while sophomores Katarina Schneider (second singles) and Mia Valencia (third singles) each won 6-1, 6-0. Attleboro, 10 @ Norton, 6 – FinalAttleboro closed the season out with a win over Norton with senior Trevor Koppy shinning in net. Koppy made 16 saves to pace the Bombardiers while sophomore Mike Strachan scored a team-high six goals. Junior Thomas Shipman chipped in with three goals and sophomore Matt Perry scored once.

Mansfield, 12 vs. Dartmouth, 11 – FinalThe Hornets prevailed in a seesaw affair, netting the game-winning the waning moments of the contest. Junior Brady Kessler scored his team-high sixth goal of the game with just over a minute remaining in the game to give Mansfield a win in its second to last game of the year. Kessler scored on a feed from Nico Holmes for the game winner, the being tied at both halftime (6-6) and after three quarters of play (9-9). Mike Reed added a goal and three assists, Jake Quirk finished with a pair of goals and assists, and Aidan Sacco, Connor Quirk, and Jake DiSangro each scored once.

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 12 @ Cohasset, 11 – FinalFranklin trailed just once in the game, down 2-1 early in the contest, but used a 5-0 run to take a lead that it never surrendered in a back-and-forth contest. The Panthers led 7-5 at halftime before the Skippers knotted the score at 9-9 with 17:20 to play. Franklin was able to outscore the hosts 3-2 over that final span to get the win. Senior Annie Walsh scored five goals and junior Erin Walsh scored a hat trick and had three assists.

Moynihan scattered six hits in a complete game shutout, striking out seven. Taunton scored the lone run of the game in the top of the sixth inning as Lucas Martins singled and came around to score on a base hit from Josh Lajoie. Attleboro’s Ryan Morry was also strong, allowing five hits and striking out three in a complete game effort for the Bombardiers.

Foxboro, 8 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalFoxboro junior Michael Devlin shined in his first start of the season on the mound and reached base four times offensively to pace the Warriors to a win over Sharon. Devlin scattered five hits and two walks in a complete game, allowing one earned run with four strikeouts. Offensively, he had one hit, three walks and scored two runs. Joe Cavaleri and James Kaeser (two hits) each added two RBI for Foxboro.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin junior Brennan Rivera allowed just one hit and faced the minimum, tossing his second straight shutout to pace the Panthers to a win over visiting Oliver Ames. Rivera fanned 12 batters and had the one hit erased on a double play against the next batter. Scott Elliott (run), Alex Haba (double, run, RBI), and Jake Macchi (RBI) each had a hit for the Panthers. Reid Latham was strong for the Tigers, allowing four hits over six innings while striking out nine. Latham also had the lone hit offensively for OA.

Mansfield, 2 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalKing Philip scored once in the second and tacked on two more in the third, holding on the rest of the way to beat Mansfield. The Hornets scored once in the fifth and made it a one-run game with a run in the seventh inning. KP sophomore Jake Silveria earned his first career win, tossing a complete game with just three hits allowed, two walks, and three strikeouts. Silveria also paced the offense with two hits and two RBI. Chris Daniels also had a hit and an RBI for the Warriors. Matt Scibilia and Nick Dumouchel each drove in a run for Mansfield.

Stoughton, 2 @ Milford, 3 – FinalStoughton tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the top of the sixth but the Hawks answered with a run in the bottom half to take the lead back and earn a win over the visiting Black Knights. Danny Corsini (2-for-3, run), Tyler Almeida (2-for-3), and Carter Scudo (2-for-3, run, RBI) had consecutive singles, the latter scoring the first. Corsini went five innings on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits and four strikeouts. Sophomore Mario Lee earned the win in relief, striking out one with one hit allowed in two scoreless innings. Jacob Kaplan had two hits for Stoughton while Kyle Gagnon and George Currier each scored a run.

Softball
Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 12 – FinalBella Erti struck out 11 and allowed only one earned run for the Rocketeers. She also had a pair of hits at the plate and drove in a pair of runs. Ashley Cangiano led the way offensively with four hits, while Annabelle Hebard (two RBI), Olivia Capobianco, and Emily Nardelli each had three hits. Abby Gallagher and Alex Moulson each had two hits in the win.

Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 12 – FinalAlli Small went 2-for-3 for the Eagles and Penny Rabatsky added a triple in the fourth inning.

Franklin, 16 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Franklin’s Emily Valentino allowed three hits, struck out five and issued one walk in a shutout performance, helping the Panthers win on the road. Maddy White paced the offense with three hits, a walk, two runs, and four RBI while Kylie Bouzan went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Franklin. OA sophomore Emma Varella had a pair of doubles while junior Katie Abreu also had a double for the Tigers.

King Philip, 3 @ Mansfield, 10 – FinalThe Hornets took the lead in the fourth inning, added two more runs in the fifth, and then broke the game wide open with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure a win over defending league champ KP. Kara Bendanillo drove in four runs and the Hornets pounded out nine hits as a team. KP jumped in front with a run in the first and the lead lasted until the fourth inning when Mady Bendanillo homered. Caty DeMassi singled, advanced to second on a sac bunt by Ashlyn Conley, took third on a passed ball, and then scored the go-ahead run on a grounder to second. Mansfield added to its lead with two runs in the fifth. Mary Muldoon led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a sac bunt by Sydney Woods. Kara Bendanillo drove her in with a single and, after making her way to third, aggressively came home to score when a pitch got away. In the sixth, the Hornets’ offense put the game away. Conley, Ella Verheggen, and Casey Mousette hit three straight singles. Muldoon drove in a run with a walk, Woods reached on an error, and Kara Bendanillo cleared the bases with a double. DeMassi made it 10 runs with a two-run single. Sarah Cahill earned the win in the circle, striking out five. Mansfield coach Lori Letendre said, “Mansfield played with a lot of energy today and I’m so proud of the total team effort.”

Milford, 3 @ Stoughton, 6 – FinalStoughton senior Karly Estremera had a double, a triple, and scored three runs to help the Black Knights beat Milford. Estremera and Jordan Lyons (two RBI, two runs) each had three hits total, Lexi Baptista added a pair of singles and an RBI, and Brianna Ferrandiz, Nicole Baker, and Sydney Menz each had a hit for Stoughton. Baker struck out 13 to earn the win. For Milford, April Swain (run) and Lucy Creedon (run, triple, RBI) each had two hits.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Foxboro, 9 – Final Foxboro held Oliver Ames scoreless in the first quarter and built a 6-2 lead at halftime that it never relinquished. The Warriors held the Tigers to just one goal in each the third and fourth quarters as freshman goalie Matt Tully made nine saves to help earn the win. Senior Pete Conley paced the Foxboro offense with five goals and one assist while junior Aidan Stapleton scored once and had two helpers. Senior Colin Bourne scored twice for Oliver Ames while junior Frankie Ireland netted one goal and had one assist. Junior Nick Gillis made 14 saves in net for OA.

Mansfield, 9 @ King Philip, 17 – FinalKing Philip senior Chris Longobardi won 22 face offs and senior Colin DeVellis recorded 10 points to help the Warriors knock off visiting Mansfield. DeVellis had seven goals and three assists, Robbie Tartaglia and Kevin Riggs each scored a hat trick, Andrew Sajdak had two goals and an assist, Sam Mattson recorded two helpers, and David Lawler and Matt Meehan each scored once. Junior Andrew McKinney made six saves in net. For Mansfield, Aidan Sacco (assist) and Connor Quirk each had a hat trick while Brady Kessler and Jake Quirk each found the back of the net once.

King Philip, 19 @ Mansfield, 9 – FinalCaroline Klim led the way for the Warriors on the road with eight goals and also added nine draw controls. Jess Sullivan added five goals and an assist and Caroline Watson held down the defensive end with 14 saves for KP. The Warriors also got a hat trick from Olivia Tormey, a pair of goals from Mackenzie Mazur, one goal from Ali Wilson and three assists from Victoria Tormey. Dana Truini also grabbed six draw controls for the visitors.

Sharon, 19 @ Milford, 5 – FinalSharon coach Shara Ginthwain called it a “great team effort” and praised the Eagles for racking up 10 assists on 19 goals. Emma Eberhardt continued her strong playmaking season with five goals and four assists, while Jenna Goldstein added five goals of her own and an assist. Bridget McManus had a hat trick and an assist, Mia Lappen had two goals and two assists, Cass Barbera scored twice, and Maeve Barbera had a single goal.
