Attleboro, 6 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final (8 inn.)Oliver Ames took a 4-0 lead early and had a 5-2 lead going into the seventh inning but the Bombardiers took advantage of a couple of Tiger miscues to get the win. Drew Pagano (walk) and Sam Larkin (HBP) reached, and then Rob Furtado delivered a two-out RBI single to bring Big Blue within two runs. With the bases loaded, Larkin and Furtado came in to score on an infield error to tie the game. In the top of the eighth, Larkin (2-for-2, three runs) drew a one-out walk and advanced to second. After stealing third, Larkin came home to score the go-ahead run on an error. Jon Candiales, who inherited runners at first and second with no outs, got the final three outs. Michael Mulrean had a strong outing for OA, going six-plus innings with nine strikeouts. Chris Pearsons went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Tigers.

Milford, 11 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalMilford plated four runs in the second inning, tacked on three more in each the third and fourth innings and added one more in the fifth to pick up its first win of the season. Matt Shaver went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI while Nick Marcolini had two hits, three runs and a pair of stolen bases. Dan Corsini earned the win, scattering five hits in six innings, striking out three with one earned run allowed. Foxboro’s Devin Hassett was 3-for-3 with a double and scored both of the Warriors’ runs.

Canton, 5 @ Sharon, 6 – Final

Mansfield, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin senior Jake Noviello was spectacular again, firing his second straight complete game shutout to help the Panthers edge Mansfield. Noviello allowed just one hit, walked four and had one strikeout to earn the win. Noviello took the no-hitter into the final inning before Mansfield’s Dan Saraceno had a base hit to lead off the seventh. Franklin scored a run in the third, and then again in the fourth. Jack Nally had a double and scored a run for Franklin, Alex Haba added an RBI double, Evan Wendell scored a run, and Colby Fitzgibbons had an RBI double. Mansfield sophomore John Carney allowed just one hit and two walks over 2.1 innings of work in relief.

King Philip, 6 @ Taunton, 5 – FinalKing Philip scored a run in the top of the first, tacked on three more in the top of the second, plated one more in the fourth, and score what turned into the winning run in the top of the sixth. Taunton tied the game 5-5 in the bottom of the fifth before KP took the lead back for good in the next half inning. Liam Rohan came in to pinch hit and drove in Nolan Bradley for the winning run. Jeremy Rhines struck out a pair and gave up three earned runs in five innings of work while junior Terry Murray didn’t allow a run in two innings, striking out four. Rhines added a single and an RBI as well.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 14 – Final (5 inn.) Attleboro pushed across 11 runs in the second inning in a big win over visiting Oliver Ames. AHS freshmen Autumn O’Connell went 3-for-3 and scored twice in the second inning while freshman Lora Woyton (2-for-3) cleared the bases with a double. Jordyn Lako added two RBI and two runs for the Bombardiers. Emily Gittle struck out four in five innings of work, allowing two runs with no walks. Oliver Ames’ Lexie Campbell (1-3) scored both of the Tigers’ two runs on RBI singles from Katie Abreu and Caroline Mahoney.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 16 – Final (5 inn.)Sharon got a pair of hits from Jody Goldenberg and a long single to center from Lauren Yaffe.

Foxboro, 4 @ Milford, 16 – Final (6 inn.)The Hawks broke the game wide open with an eight-run second inning and collected 20 hits as a team. Emily Piergustavo led the way for Milford with three hits, including a homer, and five RBI. Emily Hartman also went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI and Kelley Reichert went 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and also allowed one earned run in six innings, striking out eight. Sabrina Haarstick had two hits and three RBI. Jess Tomaso had two hits and scored two runs, and Shannon Cormier reached base four times and scored twice.

Franklin, 8 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalFranklin scored two in the first inning, one each in the fifth and sixth innings, and then put the game away with four in the seventh. Emily Valentino picked up the win, while striking out 12 and allowing just five hits. Franklin coach Kate Fallon said that the Panthers played “solid defense,” including catcher Maggie Hobby, who also hit a two-run double in the seventh to extend the lead. Anna Balkus went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Kylie Bouzan was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored for the Panthers. Franklin finished with 14 hits as a team.

Stoughton, 3 @ North Attleboro, 9 – FinalBella Erti struck out 11 in a complete game victory, allowing only four hits and walking none. Emily Nardelli and Erti both hit homers for the Rocketeers, while Abby Gallagher had a pair of hits and a diving catch. Andrea Miceli, Erti, and Gallagher each drove in two runs for North. For Stoughton, Jordan Lyons went 2-for-3 with a double while Nikki Cappola and Gina Carafa each had a single.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 8 @ Pembroke, 6 – FinalCanton built a 6-3 lead at halftime, led by the same score going into the fourth and held on for a win on the road at Pembroke. The Bulldogs never trailed in the win. Dan Cohen led the scoring with four goals while Kevin Albert scored two goals and had one assist. Sophomore Brendan Clifford scored his first career goal on perfectly placed snipe and classmate Jack Connolly made 15 saves in net for the Dogs.

Foxboro, 16 @ Medway, 8 – FinalFoxboro continued its undefeated start, moving to 8-0 with a win over Medway. Louis Piccolo scored a team-high seven goals and added three assists while Brendan Tully registered five points (three goals, two assists) for the Warriors. Bobby Yerardi added three goals while Andrew Whalen (two goals, one assist) and Pete Conley (goal, two assists) each had three points. Jake Addeche made nine saves in the win for Foxboro.

Mansfield, 6 @ St. John’s (Shrewsbury), 15 – Final

Milford, 2 vs. Hopedale, 13 – Final

Oliver Ames, 18 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – FinalOliver Ames had six different players score multiple goals in a win over D-R. Eric LeBlanc, Owen Gallagher, Shane Kilkelly, Colin Bourne, Sandro Masciarelli, and Sam Stevens all had multiple goals for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 0 @ Sharon, 12 – FinalSharon’s Brett Litner (two goals, three assists) and Drew Litner (one goal, four assists) each recorded five points as the Eagles rolled to a win. Kadin Nestler chipped in with a pair of goals and an assist while Daniel Lillenfield added two goals as well.

Taunton, 16 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 2 – FinalTaunton freshman Alana Tavares paced the offense with eight goals while senior Hannah Moniz scored four goals and senior Kayla Phillips added a pair. Senior Diana Brens and freshman Anastasia Lajoie each found the back of the net once. Goalie Brianna Winfield made eight saves in the win.

Foxboro, 15 vs. Medway, 12 – Final

Franklin, 6 @ Natick, 5 – FinalFranklin sophomore Erin Walsh scored the game-winning goal inside the final minute to lift the Panthers to a win on the road at Natick. Erin Walsh and Annie Walsh each finished with two goals and one assist in the win. Kelsey MacCallum added two assists while Nicole Houlihan and Katie Jones each had one goal. The Panthers played well defensively, with Corinne Lewis grabbing two ground balls and forcing three turnovers. Sophomore Gianna Cameron made seven saves in net.

King Philip, 5 @ Walpole, 19 – FinalCaroline Klim and Alli Meehan each scored twice, but the Warriors lost for the first time this season. Ali Wilson also scored for KP.

Mansfield, 9 @ Old Rochester, 13 – FinalAnn Maher scored four goals and Katy Garvin added three for the Hornets in the loss.

Milford, 6 @ Hopedale, 7 – Final

North Attleboro, 2 @ Notre Dame Academy, 19 – Final

Oliver Ames, 7 vs. Silver Lake, 15 – FinalOliver Ames’ Sofia Masciarelli scored three goals and added one assist but the Tigers fell at home against Silver Lake. Olivia Piazza added four assists and Ella Hogan had a hat trick for OA.

Boys Tennis
Oliver Ames, 0 @ Attleboro, 5 – FinalAttleboro defended home court, winning four of the five matches in straight sets. Evan Capar won 6-1, 1-6, 10-7 at first singles to complete the sweep. Jared Cooper (6-2, 6-1) and Ryan Gordon (6-3, 6-1) won at second and third singles, respectively. The team of Luis Sandoval and Hans Estrada won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles while Zach Brown and Ryan Solari picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Sharon, 5 @ Canton, 0 – FinalSharon’s Fred Bondar overcame a one-set deficit to earn a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win at first singles, helping the Eagles complete the sweep on the road. Andre Olivei won 6-1, 6-4 at second singles and Danujan Thirumavalavan picked up at 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles. Junior Max Brody and sophomore Alberto Olivei teamed up for the first time this season for a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles while senior Russell Rapaport and junior Arie Chinnappan won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles for Sharon.

Foxboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final

Franklin, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalThe Panthers won a pair of matches at singles and swept doubles play to beat Mansfield. Both of Franklin’s doubles teams overcame first set deficits to get the wins. Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu rallied for a 6-7 (2-7), 6-2, 6-2 win at first doubles and Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier came back with a 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 win. Freshman Liam Marr didn’t lose a game (6-0, 6-0) at second singles and Tyler St. Marie earned a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 win at third singles. Mansfield’s Luke Nickerson won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip won all five matches in straight sets, sweeping visiting Taunton. Marco DiStefano won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, Nick Putney earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and Jack Cannon took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at third singles. The team of Nick Ihley and Aidan Ignatius notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles while Nate Ihley and Sean Desrochers teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalSenior Christian Bermudez, freshman Jonah Manso, and the team of sophomore Alex Pfeffer and freshman Sam Gallagher all won their respective matches without losing a game. Christian Bermudez won at second singles, Manso took the win at third singles and Pfeffer and Gallagher won at second doubles. North senior Richard Bermudez won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles and the team of senior Ben Pfeffer and junior Vikram Senthilakumaran won 6-2, 6-0 at first doubles.

Girls Tennis
King Philip, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalKing Philip picked up an impressive win, taking all five matches in straight sets on the road at Taunton. Erin Regnier won 6-3, 6-0 at first singles, Meghan Sepich took a win at second singles by the same score, and Caitlin Gonser didn’t lose a game (6-0, 6-0) in a win at third singles. The team of Katarina Schneider and Grace Ely emerged with a 6-0, 7-5 win at first doubles and the team of Mia Valencia and Lucy Bernard took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at second doubles.

Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – FinalOliver Ames defended home court, winning all five matches in straight sets to sweep visiting Attleboro. Junior Sarah Leger won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles, sophomore Tate Hadges lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles, and sophomore Sarah Barron emerged with a 6-4, 6-2 win at third singles. The team of seniors Kristin Bloumbas and Emily Yu took home a 6-1, 6-2 win at first doubles and seniors Rachel Stryke and Olivia Groebe notched a 6-0, 6-3 victory at second doubles for the Tigers.

Canton, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalCanton freshman Rachel Kupferman became the first player to win a game against Sharon’s Lulu Yuan this season, but Yuan prevailed 7-5, 6-1 at second singles as the Eagles came up with a sweep. Nupur Shukla (6-0, 6-0) and Lauren Glass (6-2, 6-4) completed the sweep in singles play for Sharon. Katie Merport and Anjali Mandal won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and Sophia Fein and Sophia Le earned a 6-2, 6-2 decision at second doubles.

Milford, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro picked up a clean sweep at home, knocking off Milford with all five matches ending in two sets. Sophia Prinos earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, Pamela Nelson didn’t drop a game in a win at second singles, and Kayla Prag picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at third singles. The team of Julia Muise and Sarah Prag won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles while Olivia Dantona and Kendall Milender teamed up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalMansfield picked up two wins in singles and swept doubles play to record a win on the road at Franklin. Senior Sarah Doyle didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and Elizabeth Elsner earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles for the Hornets. The team of Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske continued their strong start with a 6-2, 6-1 win at first doubles and sophomore Sam Sternberg and freshman Aryann Khosravani won 6-2, 6-4 at second doubles. Franklin senior Emmy Mahoney won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Leah Marceau and junior Tara Nair won a tiebreaker 7-4 to take the second set and earn a win (6-3, 7-6 (7-4)) at first doubles, helping the Rocketeers win all five matches in straight sets. Boys Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 11 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro outscored Attleboro 7-0 in the second half to pick up a non-league win. Tommy Lindstrom orchestrated the offensive attack, registering five assists while Zach McGowan scored twice and added two helpers. Paul Yeomans (two goals, one assist) finish with three points while Jason McNeany (goal, assist), Colin Young (two goals) and Jack Dakin (two goals) each had two points. Owen Costello and Zac Doucette each scored once and Brett Labonte and Hunter Sarro each had an assist.

Canton, 5 vs. Braintree, 3 – FinalCanton outscored the visitors 4-1 in the second half to pick up a win on senior night and keep its postseason hopes alive. Senior Dan Dillon led the charge, notching three assists and scoring the game-winning goal with just over three minutes left to play. Senior Ryan Lodge and sophomore Mike Shaw each netted a pair of goals to round up Canton’s attack. Freshman Jack Connolly made 11 saves in net while CHS coach Bill Bendell praised the work of junior Charlie O’Connor at the face off X and the defensive work of senior Michael Pigeon.

Foxboro, 8 vs. Westwood, 9 – Final (OT)

Franklin, 11 @ St. John’s Shrewsbury, 12 – Final (2OT)St. John’s rattled off a 5-0 run in the second half to create an 11-7 cushion but the Panthers answered, scoring four straight goals over the final 5:45, capped with a goal from freshman Jake Davis with just seven seconds left to send the game into overtime. The Panthers won the face off at the beginning of each overtime period but couldn’t covert and the Pioneers netted the winner with 1:02 to go in the second overtime. Eric Civetti led Franklin’s offense with seven goals and one assist, Packie Watson scored twice and had one helper and Nitin Chaudhury scored once. Sam Arsenault, Jack Platner and Kyle McEniry had had one assist while Jacob Alexander won 19 face offs.

Milford, 8 @ AMSA, 4 – Final

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Pembroke, 8 – Final – Oliver Ames freshman Shane Kikelly and junior Owen Gallagher each recorded a hat trick to pace the Tigers’ offense. Senior Liam Brown, junior Eric LeBlanc and freshman Sam Stevens rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece.

Girls Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 17 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalErin Holley paced the Rocketeers, who had 11 different goal scorers in the win, with four goals and a pair of assists. North also got five assists from Katie Lindstrom, a goal and three draw controls from Julia Noreck and two goals and two assists from Camille Pizarro.

Franklin, 8 vs. Westwood, 7 – FinalFranklin freshman goalie Gianna Cameron made 15 saves and FHS head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino had high praise for her defensive unit, anchored by Dana Lewandowski and Grace McDermott. The win marked the Panthers’ first ever win over Westwood, the defending D1 state champions. Caroline Lounsbury led the offense with three goals, Erin Walsh netted two goals and Annie Walsh recorded a goal and an assist. Jordan Jette had two helpers and Kendall Reardon and Kelsey MacCallum both found the back of the net once.

Kayla Phillips netted a hat trick, Abbey Kingman scored twice and Annie Tate (two assists) found the back of the net once. Lorni Li turned away 12 shots in goal for the Tigers.

Griffin Fein won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, Fred Bondar notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles and Andre Olivei recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Alex Romantz and Alberto Olivei won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and Sammy Kirshenbaum and Max Brody prevailed 6-0, 6-2 at second doubles.

Sheehan struck out a career-high 10 batters in eight innings of work, allowing just four hits and two walks. Zach Peterson knocked in Matt Farragher (2-for-4) with a double in the top of the eighth for the lone run. Kevin Dow went 3-for-3 for Mansfield as well. Attleboro’s Eoin Kelleher had another solid outing on the mound, allowing just the one run in eight innings of work with two strikeouts. Matt Callahan had two hits for Big Blue.

Milford, 8 @ Canton, 4 – FinalMilford’s offense exploded for five runs in the third inning to extend its lead to six and tacked on two more in the sixth before holding off a seventh inning rally from Canton. Alex Macek got the win, tossing 6.2 innings with no runs allowed, five strikeouts and six hits. Ryan Goncalves went 2-for-4 with two runs, Anthony Arcudi was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and Luke Allegrezza had two hits and two RBI. Canton’s Kevin Monagle went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Stoughton, 8 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalStoughton senior Justin Hutchinson needed just 88 pitches to toss a complete game shutout on the road at Foxboro. Hutchinson allowed just four hits, struck out five and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win.

Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin emerged from another pitcher’s duel with a close 2-1 win over visiting Taunton. FHS junior Jason Ulrickson tossed a complete game, scattering five hits, issuing one walk and striking out five to earn the win. Taunton’s Tyler Medeiros also allowed five hits with just one talk, striking out seven in six innings of work. Tyler Gomes had a double and a run scored for the Panthers while Ulrickson accounted for the other run. Sophomore Alex Haba was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Cam Lupien brought the Panthers’ other run home with a sacrifice fly. Taunton’s Christian Simoes was 2-for-3 and scored on an RBI double from Joe Manchester.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – FinalOliver Ames broke a tie game open with five runs in the bottom of the second inning, giving sophomore Tom Parker a lead he wouldn’t relinquish in a complete game effort. Parker allowed just three hits while walking two and striking out a pair. Both Alden Newman and Kyle Gagliardi went 1-for-2 for the Tigers, each scoring a run and each knocking in one as well.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalAfter allowing the first four batters to reach, North Attleboro’s Matt Iaconis settled in to toss a complete game with just one run allowed and two strikeouts to help the Rocketeers pick up a win on the road. After North went up 1-0 in the top of the first, Sharon rattled off three straight singles and tied the game on a hit batter. From there, Iaconis escaped the bases loaded jam with three straight outs. He allowed just four hits the rest of the way and didn’t issue a walk. North tacked on two runs in the top of the second, three in the third and one more in the fifth. Attleboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalAttleboro rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to turn a 2-1 deficit into a one-run victory. Jenna Gittle led off with a double to start the seventh inning and hits from Emily Gittle and Ashley Macia pushed across the tying and winning runs for the Bombardiers. McKenzie Bergdoll earned the win, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts, allowing just four hits. Mansfield scored both of its runs in the second inning. Liz Mackin led-off with a single and, after a sacrifice bunt, scored on a single by Sarah Cahill. Caty DeMassi singled in the second run. The Hornets loaded the bases in the final frame but could not push across the tying run.

Canton, 1 @ Milford, 19 – Final (5 inn.)Milford junior Emily Piergustavo notched her 100th career hit, one of 18 that the Hawks belted out. Piergustavo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs while Maggie Farrell went 4-for-4 with a triple, four runs scored and two RBI and Jess Tomaso went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs, four RBI and a towering home run to left. Kaitlyn DeCapua added two hits, two runs and an RBI, Shannon Cormier had two hits, including a double, and two RBI and Emily Hartman launched a three-run home run. Kelley Reichert earned the win, scattering five this with five strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Foxboro, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalGina Carafa struck out 10 Foxboro hitters, including her 100th strikeout of the season, and scattered four hits to pick up the win. Nikki Coppola drove in both of Stoughton’s runs with a two-out single in the third and Shannon Flaherty was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate for the Black Knights. Foxboro cut the lead in half in the sixth inning when Kelly Fisher drove in Kelly Mccarthy with a sac fly off a great running catch by Alessandra Loffredo.

Franklin, 0 @ Taunton, 12 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton’s offense got off to a strong start, plating a pair of runs in the first inning then blowing the game open with six runs in the second. Jaime Brown went 4-for-4 and scored four whiles while Kya Enos (two hits) knocked in four runs. MacKenzie Handrahan knocked in three runs on a pair of hits, McKenzie McAloon added two hits and eighth grader Hannah Aldrich hit her first career home run for the Tigers. Courtney Fisher struck out four without issuing a walk, allowing just one hit (fifth inning) and two total base runners.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 12 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip junior Jess Bonner collected three hits and knocked in three runs and junior Elise Pereira knocked in three runs on a pair of doubles to pace the Warriors’ offense. Hailey McCasland added two hits while Jenn Hutnyan (two hits, three RBI) threw four scoreless innings, striking out eight. Victoria Ziner, Lexie Campbell and Kayla Georgeu each had a hit for OA.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 8 – FinalFreshman Bella Erti allowed two unearned runs in the first but retired 18 of the final 19 hitters that she faced to seal the win for North and book a place for the Rocketeers in the state tournament. Erti allowed one hit and struck out 13, while adding a pair of hits at the plate. With the game tied at 2-2 in the fourth, Abby Gallagher drove in two with a single. Abby Warren, Olivia Capobianco, and Gallagher each reached base three times and Meg Barlow added a pair of hits.

Attleboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 12 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Zach McGowan registered six points, completing a hat trick with his 100th career strike. Owen Costello added three goals and an assist, Colin Young scored once and had two helpers, and Tommy Lindstrom and Jack Dakin each found the back of the net once and registered two assists. Hunter Sarro, Damien Curtis and Jason McNeany (nine face off wins) each scored once and Andy DeMattio had one assist. Dan MacDonald turned away 11 shots in net for the Rocketeers.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 7 – FinalFranklin built a 5-1 lead by halftime and shut Canton out in the second half in a low scoring frame. Franklin sophomore Jacob Alexander won all 12 face offs that he took in the game while classmate Nitin Chaudhury notched a hat trick to pace the Panthers’ offense. Eric Civetti scored twice, Chase Tanner and Jack Platner each found the back of the net once and Sam Arsenault recorded two assists. Packie Watson, Kyle McEniry and Pat Morrison each had one assist and Connor O’Rourke made six saves in net.

Foxboro, 4 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip’s Conor Khung intercepted a pass just above the restraining then launched a pass from the face off circle, finding John DeLuca, who tucked away the game-winning goal with 17 seconds left to hand KP a close win over visiting Foxboro. Tim Watson and Nate Minkwitz each scored twice while Paul Macrina made 17 saves to keep Foxboro at bay.

Taunton, 3 vs. North Quincy, 1 – FinalTaunton snapped a two game skid with a big win at home at North Quincy, prevailing 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-22. Lance Law did it all for the Tigers, recording 17 kills, 10 digs, six blocks, two assists and an ace in the win. Lens Esquil added 12 kills and four blocks, Malik Charles had 19 digs, eight kills and three blocks and Nate Grant finished with 49 assists in the win.

Taunton, 8 @ Attleboro, 4 – Final Taunton senior Charles Hearrold III earned the win on the mound, tossing five innings with just one earned run, three hits and two walks allowed. Hearrold III also paced the Tigers at the plate with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. Luke Figueira and Matt Machado each had a pair of hits for the Tigers as well. Max Bowden knocked in a pair of runs and sophomore Joe Manchester had one RBI.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Canton, 8 – Final – Senior Griffin Jerrier stole the show on the mound for Canton, striking out nine in a complete game effort, scattering six hits and only allowing two earned runs. Mike McMahon (double, RBI) and Joe Bires (run) both had a pair of hits for Canton while Jim Jenkins and Sean Doyle each knocked in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs. For Oliver Ames, sophomore Matt Muir had two hits.

Milford, 5 @ Foxboro, 6 – Final – Foxboro’s Jesse Galanti connected for a two run single, turning a 5-4 deficit into a 6-5 lead in the sixth inning and the Warriors were able to hold on. Nick Wright picked up his third save of the season, pitching a scoreless top half of the seventh inning. Andrew Block tossed six innings for the win for Foxboro. Aaron Wentling pitched in with a team-best three hits while Darren Kelly and Wright each had two hits for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 1 @ Franklin, 12 – Final – The Panthers’ offense roared to life with all nine players in the lineup getting either a hit or scoring a run. Nick Santucci and Ryan Hodgkins each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI for Franklin while Josh Macchi knocked in four runs and had a double. Jake Lyons, Mike Skaza, Jason Ulrickson and Alex Bissanti each had an RBI for Franklin as well. Ulrickson got the win on the mound for Franklin, tossing six innings with just two hits allowing and four strikeouts. Classmate Matt Foley closed the game with a scoreless seventh inning.

North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – Jack DiCenso tossed a complete game shutout for the Warriors, scattering five hits while striking out six in the win. King Philip scored both of its runs in the first inning. After Kyle Guenthner walked, junior Will Weir plated him with an RBI double. Weir then came around to score on a single from DiCenso.

Sharon, 2 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final – Nico Parmeggiani threw a complete game for Stoughton, scattering five hits with only one walk and seven strikeouts to earn the win. Stoughton broke the tie game open with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Sharon sophomore Max Tarlin had his second straight strong start for the Eagles, going 5 2/3 with five strikeouts and two earned runs, while allowing just two hits. Junior catcher Jake Marglous had a two RBI single for the Eagles.

Softball
Attleboro, 0 @ Taunton, 9 – Final – Aimee Kistner (four innings, win) and Courtney Fisher (three innings) combined to throw a four-hit shutout and totaled 12 strikeouts in the win. Kya Enos had two hits, including a two-run home run while Jordan Wade had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI, Meghan Navarro had a triple and two RBI and Liana Duarte had a pair of hits for the Tigers.

Canton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – Final – Oliver Ames freshman pitcher Kayla Georgeu only allowed three hits, striking out four in a complete game effort. Missy Krim went 2-3 with a pair of runs scored and had one stolen base, Jamie Gottwald was 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored, Victoria Ziner was 2-3 with a pair of RBI and Katie Pursley (1-2) knocked in a pair of runs for the Tigers and also scored a run. Also for the Tigers, Katie Mills (1-1) knocked in Jordyn Leite (1-1, double).

Mansfield, 2 @ Franklin, 0 – Final – Mansfield senior pitcher Maddie Letendre kept the Panthers at bay, allowing just four hits while striking out seven. Freshman Megan Letendre paced the offense with three hits while junior Liz Mackin socked a pair of hits. Mady Bendanillo (RBI) and Amanda Giambanco each had a hit for the Hornets. Mansfield cashed in for both of their runs in the fifth inning with Bendanillo single knocking in Megan Letendre and Maddie Letendre knocking in Bendanillo.

King Philip, 6 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – After having just one hit through five innings, North Attleboro rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game. But King Philip sophomore Elise Pereira’s solo home run to lead off the seventh inning proved to be the difference. Kali Magane came in and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning to preserve the win for the Warriors. After KP scored two runs in both the second and fifth innings, North Attleboro used a grand slam from Kaylea Sherman to tie the game in the sixth. Christa Wagner, Pereira, Magane, Brooke Taute and Meghan Gorman all had two hits for KP. Mycala Moody and Gina Miceli each had a pair of hits for the Rocketeers.

Stoughton, 5 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Stoughton’s Shannon Flaherty tossed a complete game without surrendering an earned run. Flaherty also struck out nine while issuing three walks. Jeni D’Andrea, Gina Caraffa, Karly Estramera, Sam Tullis and Flaherty each had hits for the Black Knights.

Attleboro, 6 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – Final – Oliver Ames senior attack Matt Gilson scored four goals and sophomore attack Eric LeBlanc added a pair of goals for the Tigers.

Canton, 14 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Jack Dillon, Matt Mackay and Dan Cohen all scored their first career goals in the win for the Panthers. Dylan Cunningham had a pair of saves in a shutout fourth quarter in the cage. Canton head coach Bill Bendell said DJ Trerice played well at midfield and both Brian Albert and George Kent played great defense.

King Philip, 11 @ Sharon, 9 – Final – King Philip overcame from a four goal deficit at halftime and a three minute locked in penalty to start the fourth quarter to beat the Eagles. Sharon held a 3-0 lead after a quarter and a 5-1 lead at the break. Sharon led 7-5 going into the final quarter but an illegal stick forced KP into a man down situation for three minutes locked in. KP senior Steven Eaton kept the Warriors rolling, setting up a pair of man-down goals for KP to tie the game less than halfway through the final quarter. Junior Tim Watson scored one of his three goals with just 2:51 left to put KP up 10-8. After KP pulled within one, Eaton iced the game with a goal with 15 seconds left. Watson finished with three goals and four assists while Sam Agricola found the back of the net four times. Harry Fallon scored twice and had one assist, Anthony Truini scored once and Michael Curtin had one assist for KP. Junior goalie Paul Macrina notched 13 of his 21 saves in the second half for KP.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Mansfield, 11 – Final – Mansfield senior defenseman Josh Schafer set the tone early for the Hornets, going coast to coast and finding the back of the net for the first goal of the game and Mansfield held a 4-1 lead at the halftime break. The Hornets continued the attack with a 7-3 second half. Ryan Smith scored three goals and had an assist and Jon Reed found the back of the net twice for Mansfield. Connor Finerty, Billy Grant (two assists), Jarrett Saunders, Hunter Ferreira (assist) and Sam O’Connell each scored once for Mansfield.

Mansfield, 10 @ North Attleboro, 19 – Final – Hana Caster led the Rocketeers with five goals and five assists, while sophomore Mackenzie Rosenberg added six goals for North. Brooke Ebert played well in goal, according to North coach Mike Vitelli.

Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 8 – Final – Taunton goalie Lorna Li made 20 saves in the cage for the Tigers but the Whalers were able to get the close win. Abbey Kingman scored twice and Kayla Phillips, Lindsay Sneyd and Riana Winslow each scored once for Taunton while Annie Tate had an assist.

King Philip, 8 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final – Jake Lannigan shined on the mound for the Warriors, scattering three hits without surrendering an earned run in a complete game effort. Lannigan struck out six to earn the win. Offensively, Will Weir drove in three runs, Stephen Murray connected for a two-run home run and Jon Rolfe also knocked in a pair of runs. Kyle Guenthner picked up two of King Philip’s nine hits on the day.

Franklin, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Doug Seaman broke a scoreless game open in the fourth inning by hitting a single, advancing to second on an error, stealing third and coming home on a hit from junior Jack Connelly (2-3). Seaman (2-3) produced the next two runs for the Black Knights with a two RBI single in the next inning to cap the scoring. For the second straight start, Justin Hutchinson was on point, throwing a complete game with just two hits allowed, striking out eight for the win. Franklin sophomore Jason Ulrickson was strong in his first varsity start, throwing six innings and giving up just four hits, two earned runs and struck out four. Junior Ryan Hodgkins went 2-3 at the plate for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Milford, 1 – Final – It was a classic pitcher’s duel between Milford’s Alex Macek and North Attleboro’s John O’Donnell. In just his second start of the season, Macek was efficient with a complete game, 83 pitch shutout effort. Macek fanned seven batters, allowing four hits. O’Donnell was equally as good for the Rocketeers, striking out six while allowing just five hits. The difference came in the third inning when Milford sophomore Aidan Wilde smacked an RBI triple to score freshman Alex Coady, who reached on a one-out single.

Softball
Canton, 0 @ Taunton, 14 – Final (5 inn.) – Courtney Fisher picked up her fourth win of the season, retiring the final 14 batters in order after allowing just one hit with no walks. With the win, the Tigers qualified for the the state tournament. Offensively, Sarah Bagge went 2-2 with an RBI, Jordan Wade was 2-4 with an RBI, a double and three runs scored, Jaime Brown went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Amber Wainwright drove in three runs and had a double and Hailey Medeiros went 1-1 with an RBI for the Tigers.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 12 – Final (6 inn.) – The Warriors of King Philip recorded 15 hits as a team in a big win. Ashley Hession had a big day at the plate with three hits, including a double and a triple, and knocked in four runs. Brianna Lacy added three hits with a double and three RBI and Jenn Hutnyan had a pair of hits for the Warriors. Hutnyan combined with Kali Magane for a three hit shutout in the circle. Magane struck out 10 in four innings of work.

Stoughton, 1 @ Franklin, 8 – Final – Franklin head coach Kate Fallon-Comeau praised the effort of senior pitcher Caroline D’Aprile, who tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and five hits allowed. Offensively, Clara DeCarvalho was 1-2 with a pair of walks and an RBI double, Alexx Niss was 2/4 at the plate, Olivia DiGiacomo had a two RBI double and Kerry Blaney scored a pair of runs for the Panthers.

Sharon, 0 @ Mansfield, 5 – Final – Mansfield pitcher Maddie Letendre only surrendered three hits to the Eagles, striking out 12 to earn the win. Offensively, the Hornets notched nine hits with three players getting a pair each. Maddie Letendre helped her cause by going 2-3 with an RBI, Jocelyn Reardon was also 2-3 with an RBI and Bri Homer had a pair of hits. Rachel Carafa drove in a pair of runs and had a hit, Megan Letendre had one RBI and one hit and Liz Mackin also had a hit for the Hornets.

Milford, 3 @ North Attleboro, 6 – Final – Amelia Murphy got the win in the circle after seven innings of work and helped her cause at the plate, belting a three run home run as the Rocketeers handed Milford its first league loss of the season. Mycala Moody went 2-3 for North Attleboro, scoring a pair of runs while Liz Morehouse reached base three runs with one hit and two walks.

Canton, 5 @ Medway, 12 – Final

Mansfield, 15 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Senior Josh Schafer scored his first two goals of the season and classmate Preet Patel netted his first career goal to pace Mansfield. Sam O’Connell scored a hat trick and Billy Grant scored twice and had three assists. Jon Reed, Cullen Murphy, Jarrett Saunders, Joe Cox, Pat Graham, Sean Powers and Dan Plugis all scored once for Mansfield.

Taunton, 2 @ Mansfield, 18 – Final – Mansfield had nine different players find the back of the net in the win on Friday. Caroline Maher led the charge with five goals while Julia Todesco scored three times and Emily Aarons scored twice. Taunton’s Abbey Kingman and Kayla Phillips eached scored once and Tatum Speicher had an assist.

King Philip, 5 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Although it was a sweep for King Philip, it was far from a rout. Two matches went to three sets and another was decided in a super tiebreaker. Cole Ginter and Blake Ginter both won 6-1, 6-1 at first and third singles for the Warriors. Garrett Schneider battled back at second singles to score a 1-6, 6-3, 11-9 win. Sam Colella and Ryan Gemelli had to also rally, winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (11-9) at first doubles while Justin Rohan and Marco DiStefano won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – North Attleboro won all five matches in straight sets to earn the win. Senior Mitchell Dyer won 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, junior Zack Pfeffer won 6-3, 6-3 at second singles and junior Barsomo Nuay won 6-2, 6-1 at third singles. Seniors Jeff Yao and Nick Lockavitch won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles and senior Jake Fontes and junior Daniel Zhang won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles for the Rocketeers.

Sophomore Lulu Yuan won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, freshman Nupur Shulka won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and sophomore Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. Seniors Pooja Puttigampala and Michal Kondratiev won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and sophomore Katie Merpot and junior Sydney Gordon won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles.

Lee Gobin scored a pair of goals for Taunton while Andrew Wellington, Jason Stern, Griffin Speicher and Cam Welby each scored once. Ryan Williams made six saves in net.
Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 14 @ Needham, 15 – Final (2OT) – Seven different players found the back of the net in Franklin’s opening game. Kenzie Pleshaw led the way with a team-high four goals and Emily Spath netted three goals. Sam Jones forced three turnovers on defense and had a pair of ground balls. Dani Lonati made seven saves in net. 
Taunton, 17 vs. Bristol Plymouth, 1 – FinalThe Tigers picked up a win in the program’s first ever varsity game. Layne Kingman led the way for Taunton with three goals and three assists. Delaney Powell scored five goals, Abby Kingman and Hannah Moniz each had two goals and an assist and Breanna Conlon and Kayla Phillips each scored a pair of goals.

Taunton, 3 vs. Durfee, 2 – Final – Brett Beaulieu picked up a marathon win at first singles (6-4, 5-7, 6-4), Mike Briggs won at a third singles (4-6, 6-1, 6-4) and Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske teamed up for a 6-4, 6-1 win at first doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ Durfee, 0 – Final – Jordan Pagliuca picked up a win at first singles (6-1, 6-2), Olivia Sweeney won at second singles (6-1, 6-0) and Delaney DeAvila rallied for a win at third singles (4-6, 6-2, 7-6). In doubles play, Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason had a sweep at first doubles (6-0, 6-0) and Caroline Herbert and Jillian Pagliuca teamed up for a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 3 vs. Norwood, 0 – Final – The Tigers opened the season with a 3-0 sweep over Norwood, 25-11, 25-21, 25-16. Sophomore Lance Law led the way with 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces while Ricardo DaFonseca picked up right where he left off last year, notching 24 assists. Lens Esquil had five kills and a block, Malik Charles added four kills, three aces and a block and Nate Grant had four kills, and ace and a strong game at the net. Head coach Toby Chaperon praised the work of David Perry and Dawid Fusiecki during the game.
