Oliver Ames, 0 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalAttleboro junior Will Halben scored the lone goal of the game in the 10th minute and senior goalie Nick Hasenfus had a strong performance in goal to help the Bombardiers score an upset of top-ranked OA.

Canton, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalCanton junior Paul Corcoran broke the deadlock with 15 minutes to play, netting the game-winner to help the Bulldogs earn two points on the road. Canton junior Avery Minkin scored his first career goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead entering halftime. Sharon senior Christian Villanueva scored the equalizer early in the second half before Corcoran netted the winner.

Foxboro, 4 @ Milford, 1 – FinalFoxboro scored three goals in the second half to secure two points on the road at Milford. Hussein Kafel opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing a rebound off a shot from Ryan Kelley. Kafel doubled Foxboro’s lead in the second half but Milford cut the deficit in half with a penalty kick. Matt Garcia and Dylan Barreira scored in the final 20 minutes to ice the game. Shane VandenBoom had two assists in the win for Foxboro.

Franklin, 0 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalMansfield senior John Cooney netted the lone tally of the game and senior keeper Nick Ferraz made a pair of highlight saves in the first half to help the Hornets preserve the lead, and the win, against the visiting Panthers. Cullin Anastasia set up Cooney for the only goal.

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalKing Philip erased a one-goal first half deficit, scoring once before the halftime break to knot the score, and then again early in the second half for the winner. THS took the lead in the 17th minute but KP scored in the 31st minute with Mike Rowe nodding in a corner kick from Camron Lawrence. The Warriors scored the winner in the 44th minute when Cam Koch latched onto a loose ball in the area, burying it backside to make it 2-1.

Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro scored a pair of first half goals, and then survived an early second half strike from the visitors to stay in first place. Joe Hilf (14th minute) and Gabe Pinhancos (33rd minute) each converted breakaway chances to put the hosts up 2-0. Stoughton’s Jayden Falise buried a rebound on a chance from Ritchy Laguerre to make it 2-1. Pinhancos then buried a chance from the top of the box in the 60th minute, and James Sales capped the scoring with his first career goal in the 68th minute on an assist from Ryan Pasquel.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalIsabella Salviati scored the game’s lone goal on what Attleboro coach Steve Santos described as a “great hustle play.” OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Emily Nosalek and Sofia Masciarelli played well in defeat.

Canton, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalRiley Duserick scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to the victory that clinches Canton a return to the state tournament. Morgan McCabe and Elisa Diletizia also scored for the Bulldogs and Leianna Brune recorded an assist. Ally Filipkowski scored both goals for the Eagles in the loss. Bridget McManus and Keegan Veazey recorded assists for Sharon.

Milford, 0 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final Lily Sykes scored two goals, including a 40-yard strike, and had an assist for the Warriors. The second goal was the 50th of her career. Shaina Abbott and Jordyn Collins had the other two goals for the Warriors. Milford coach Jay Mastaj said that Juliana France, Rachel LeBlanc and Brianna Braza had good games for the Hawks.

Mansfield, 5 @ Franklin, 1 – Final The Hornets broke open a 1-1 tie with four second half goals and stayed tied atop the Kelley-Rex division standings. Taylor Smith had a brace and an assist for Mansfield, while Cassidy McMahon, Stephanie Kemp, and Amanda Mangano each had goals and Emily Vigeant had a pair of assists for the Hornets.

King Philip, 5 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalAvery Snead scored two goals and Chloe Layne, Abby Baker, and Emma Durant each had one for the Warriors. Emily O’Gara scored the lone goal for the Tigers. Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro deposited all three of its goals in the first half to beat Stoughton and clinch the 2017 Hockomock League Davenport division title. Mackenzie Rosenberg had a pair of assists in a five-minute span, setting up Emma Gaulin for the opener and then Asyln Gaulin to make it 2-0. In the 28th minute, Haley Guertin made it 3-0 on a feed from Leah Jette. Nina Beauvais recorded the shutout in net for the Rocketeers.

Volleyball
Canton, 1 vs. Notre Dame Academy, 3 – FinalCanton split the first two games, but NDA rolled to two straight wins to grab the victory 15-25, 25-19, 9-25, 21-25. Hannah Jerrier had 13 kills and two blocks and Nicole Brown had 27 assists for the Bulldogs.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalOliver Ames scored just over midway through the first half but King Philip equalized early in the second half as the teams each took a point. Senior James Gillespie finished off a long throw from Chris Lawrence to put OA head 1-0 in the 22nd minutes. King Philip tied it in the 48th minute when Connor Mullins scored on an assist from Anthony Bozza.

Sharon, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro worked its way to a 2-0 lead by halftime and added a late insurance goal to pick up two points against visiting Sharon. Senior Gabe Pinhancos intercepted a pass and opened the scoring in the 16th minute for the Rocketeers. Then just before half, sophomore Dylan Corrigan played junior Joe Hilf in behind the defense and Hilf scored to make it 2-0. Sharon cut the deficit to one in the 62nd minute when sophomore Michael Baur converted a free kick from just outside the area. But North iced the game when Pinhancos drew a penalty kick and Hilf converted in the 66th minute.

Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalMansfield juniors Steph Kemp and Sydney Mulkern each scored a pair of goals while Cassidy McMahon also registered two points with a goal and assist as the Hornets rolled on the road. Allie Reef, Amanda Mangano, Emma Oldow and Kemp each finished with one assist.

Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 6 – FinalFoxboro’s offense netted four goals in the second half to break the game open, earn two points, and qualify for the state tournament. Junior Mackenzi Fraser and sophomore Lizzy Davis each scored two goals in the win while senior Lily Sykes finished with two assists. Kendra Wentling converted a penalty kick and Katelyn Mollica also found the back of the net in the Warriors’ win.

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalAnna Balkus scored the game’s only goal midway through the second half to give the Panthers a narrow win and a sweep of the season series. Grace Pimenta made 13 saves in defeat for the Tigers.

King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalKing Philip scored once in the first half and added two goals in the second half to avenge its lone loss of the season with a win at OA. Ally Stanton opened the scoring in the 36th minute, one-timing a cross from Makayla Griffin. Griffin grabbed her second assist in the 69th minute when she picked out sophomore Avery Snead for a header. Snead then iced the game with her second goal four minutes later, heading in a corner from Emma Cocoran. OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Sophia Cox and Regan Benton played well for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalSharon’s Fallon Pfeifer put the Eagles ahead but North Attleboro scored once in each half to earn the win. Emma Gaulin tied the game in the first half, converting a feed from MacKenzie Rosenberg. North’s Ashlyn Gaulin netted the game-winning off a corner kick in the second half for the game-winner.

Golf
Attleboro, 161 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 169 – FinalAttleboro moved within one win of qualifying for the state tournament with a non-league win over visiting Dighton-Rehoboth. Kyle DelSignore earned match medalist honors for the second straight match, firing a 39 for the Bombardiers. Ethan Johnson carded a 40 while Jack Handy and Brian Houle each shot 41 for Attleboro.

North Attleboro, 158 @ Canton, 148 – FinalCanton’s Joey Vaughan fired a low-round of 35, earning medalist honors to lead the Bulldogs over North Attleboro. The win sets up a showdown with Oliver Ames for a battle of unbeatens. Tommy Dimock and Thomas Singleton each shot 37 for Canton while Dylan Kane carded a round of 37 to lead the Rocketeers.

Oliver Ames, 165 @ Taunton, 178 – FinalOliver Ames picked up a win over Taunton to set up a showdown of undefeated teams on Wednesday when the Tigers host Canton. Tate Hadges earned medalist honors, carding a low-round of 39. Ryan McGarry shot 40 for the Tigers, Nolan Donze carded a round of 41 and sophomore Kyle Gramer fired a 45.

Nathaniel Cardoza put the Tigers ahead on an assist from Chris Lawrence while Michael Nikiciuk doubled the lead, on an assist from Brandin Osborne. OAHS head coach praised the play of Cam Vella, Mason Galbato, Matt Campbell and Colin Evin.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 2 – FinalCanton junior Griffin Roach continued his strong start to the season, netting a brace in the win. Roach scored once in each half.

Mansfield, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalMansfield built a 3-0 lead over the first 25 minutes of the game and then held off a late push from the Panthers. John Cooney opened the scoring on an assist from Sean Lanzillo in the eighth minute and just three minutes later, Jared Gabrilowitz made it 2-0 on a feed from Cullin Anastasia. Nick Wisnieski converted a chance from Gabrilowitz in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0. Franklin got on the board when sophomore Sam Stowell converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute. Sophomore Lucas Mauro netted Franklin’s second goal off an assist from Nasir Brahimi. Nick Ferraz made six saves in net for Mansfield.

King Philip, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalKing Philip Connor Mullins converted a cross from Thomas Lugten inside the area in the first half to give the Warriors the win.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro built a 3-0 lead by halftime and converted a set piece in the second half to earn two points on the road. Sophomore Dylan Corrigan grabbed his first goal of the game in the sixth minute, and made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, burying a rebound chance after a terrific save from Stoughton keeper Carter Gerome. Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalMaeve Hogan put OA in front with a header off a Sophia Cox corner. Briley Harnois tied the game late in the first half, but Abby Hodges popped up with the game-winner midway through the second half, off a Jackie Mills cross.

Sharon, 1 @ Canton, 2 – FinalFreshman Elisa Diletzia scored with a header off a Riley Duserick cross in the closing minutes to nab the win for the Bulldogs. Freshman Olivia Rodman scored the first for Canton off a Lilah Sullivan assist.

Foxboro, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalLily Sykes scored the lone goal of the game with a shot from outside the 18. Katie Huether assisted on the goal for the Warriors. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Olivia Marshall played well in goal with a number of saves to keep the Hawks in it and Ashleigh Starks and Juliana France both had strong games as well.

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip sophomores Avery Snead and Chloe Layne linked up for three goals in King Philip’s win at home. Layne (three points) scored twice, both on assists from Snead, who scored once and had another assist for a total of four points. Abby Baker scored an unassisted tally and Jenna Hitchen also scored once. Samantha Tichelaar scored the lone goal of the game for the Tigers, while Grace Pimenta made 12 saves for Taunton.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalAshlyn Gaulin had a brace and an assist for the Rocketeers, while Haley Guertin, Aine Mendonca, and Mackenzie Rosenberg each scored one in the win. Leah Jette, Samantha Hawkins, and Kayla Pasquel each had assists. North coach Bill Wallace said that Coley Flynn, Meg Slaney and Ally Blaisdell “had excellent games.”

Maggie Woods scored a pair of goals while Sarah Stevens, Kayla Lozzi, Liz Nuss and Cristina Boudreau each scored once. Senior Jackie Kandar had a strong game defensively for the Tigers and added four kills and two aces. Emma Petrillo added 12 kills and Katie Flynn finished with 10 kills.

Canton, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalCanton picked up a sweep on the road, notching a 25-12, 25-18, 25-15 win. Erin Devine had a great match with eight kills without any hitting errors (.727). Nyah Claiborne chipped in with three aces and great defense. Sofia Connor had 12 digs and Nicole Brown added 16 assists.

Mansfield, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin had a strong, well-rounded attack to pick up a sweep against Mansfield. Ellie Wisniewski (ace), Meaghan Maguire (block) and Hailey Sanders all had eight kills apiece while Maggie Doyle (three blocks) added four kills. For Mansfield, Meg Hill added eight kills, Julia Harrison had six kills and Mikayla Kearney chipped in with 10 digs.

Canton, 154 @ North Attleboro, 157 – FinalSophomore Chris Lavoie fired a career-best 37 to lead Canton to a key division win over North Attleboro. Danny Powers, Joey Vaughan and Niko Donovan each carded rounds of 39 for the Bulldogs. Aidan Weir earned match medalist honors, shooting a 36 for North Attleboro.

Sharon, 174 @ Milford, 180 – FinalSharon’s Cory Carter earned match medalist honors, carding a round of 37 to lead the Eagles. Riley Lynch shot a team-low round of 42 for the Hawks.

Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalMansfield senior Cullin Anastasia netted a pair of second half goals as the Hornets secured a shutout win on the road. Jackson Murphy opened the scoring for the visitors, converting a chance from Sean Lanzillo to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Murphy then set up Anastasia for Mansfield’s second goal and John Cooney recorded to assist on the final tally. Nick Ferraz recorded his third shutout in net.

Canton, 0 @ Milford, 2 – Final Milford junior Anthony Salvador scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the first half, and then drew a penalty late in the second half to help the Hawks record a shutout win over visiting Canton. Wallison De Oliveira converted the penalty kick to seal the win. MHS head coach Brian Edwards praised the defensive efforts of senior Jacob Balzarini.

Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 8 – FinalHussein Kafel, Joe Cusack, and Nick Esposito each scored a brace for the Warriors. Shane Vandenboom had a pair of assists, Cam Cass had a goal and an assist, and Matt Rongione had the other goal for Foxboro. Click here for a photo gallery from this game.

Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalOne senior and three juniors each recorded a goal for Franklin in the Panthers’ win at home. Senior Liam Kapples along with juniors Nitin Chaudhury, Nasir Brahimi and Sam Molloy each found the back of the net once for FHS.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames scored a pair of goals in each half in a key division win over visiting King Philip. Senior Michael Nikiciuk opened the scoring while classmate Brandin Osborne made it 2-0 by half. Mason Galbato converted a flick from Nathaniel Cardoza off a long throw in by Chris Lawrence to make it 3-0 and minutes later, senior Matt Alvarado made it 4-0. In the final minute of play, KP junior John Cullen played a through ball to freshman Camron Lawrence who played across to freshman Ajae Olsen for the finish.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro took the lead inside the first 10 minutes and netted the game-winner midway through the second half to pick up a key division win on the road. Sophomore Dylan Corrigan opened the scoring in the sixth minute, converting a long goal kick from Zach Matracia. Gabe Pinhancos doubled the lead in the 63rd minute on a feed from Ryan Pasquel. Sharon sophomore Michael Baur converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute. NA goalie Brendan Matracia made three key saves down the stretch for the Rocketeers.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalStephanie Kemp scored a brace and Cassidy McMahon had a goal and an assist for the Hornets, who stayed perfect on the season. Attleboro battled throughout and cut the Mansfield lead to 2-1 midway through the second half on a goal by Julia Reyes, assisted by Alison Wall. As the Bombardiers pushed forward for an equalizer, Mansfield scored two more to seal the two points. Madison Brown made 12 saves in the loss and, according to coach Steve Santos, Jordyn Forte and Julia Hayes played well on defense.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 3 – FinalMilford got a pair of goals from Juliana France and one from Maggie Boyle to earn a draw against the Bulldogs. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Ashleigh Starks also played well for the Hawks.

Foxboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalStoughton took the lead on the Warriors with a goal by Nicole Weir, assisted by Gabbi Diaz. Foxboro responded with four straight goals to get the win, including a pair of goals from Lily Sykes. Katelyn Mollica scored the eventual game-winner before halftime and Jordyn Collins scored early in the second half, before Sykes wrapped up the win with a shot from distance. According to Stoughton coach Tara Daniels, outside backs Cintia Khouzami and Sarina Hutchinson had “outstanding” games.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalChloe Layne scored a penalty kick to give the Warriors the lead in the fifth minute, but OA bounced back with two goals before halftime to hand KP its first loss of the season. Abby Hodges scored off an Sophia Cox corner kick to tie the game and Erin Holmberg bent a corner directly in for what turned out to be the game-winner. Regan Benton made 14 saves for the Tigers and drew praise from KP coach Gary Pichel, who said that Benton was “clearly one of the best goalkeepers in the state.” OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Maeve Hogan played a strong game in the OA defense.

Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalIt took North only 58 seconds to jump into the lead with a goal from Kayla Pasquel, assisted by Ashlyn Gaulin. Aine Mendonca made it two off another Gaulin assist and Leah Jette made it 3-0 off a Pasquel assist. Gaulin added a pair of second half goals, one off a Haley Guertin shot and the second on an assist by Mackenzie Rosenberg. Emma Noreck had the clean sheet for North and head coach Bill Wallace praised Aly Blaisdell, Felicity Monfils, Britta MacDonald, Haley Ferrin and Emma Gaulin for strong play on both ends of the field.

Field Hockey
Mansfield, 6 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalSenior Ann Maher scored a hat trick to pace Mansfield to a win on the road. Heather D’Ambra, Brooke Downey and Haley Crawford each tallied once for the Hornets in the win.

Milford, 1 @ Canton, 7 – Final

King Philip, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalKing Philip’s Christina Hathaway scored and had an assist in the first half, helping the Warriors build a 2-0 lead at the break. Hathaway scored on a feed from Nicole Conor and then set up a goal by Liz Furfari. Furfari made it 3-0 of a pass from Alli Meehan and then Meehan netted the final two goals, one set up by Olivia Kulesza. Abby Campbell turned away three shots in net.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Volleyball
Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalAfter splitting the first two sets, Mansfield rattled off two wins to earn the victory on the road (25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16). Julia Harrison had eight kills while Mikayla Kearney had seven digs and eight service points. Emma Ascoli added 14 service points and 24 assists for the Hornets while Jolie O’Neil chipped in with 10 service points.

Milford, 1 @ Canton, 3 – FinalMilford earned a win in the first set but Canton rallied back to win the next three and take the victory (21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 29-27). Nicole Brown ran the Canton’s offense with 37 assists, Taylor Harris had 13 kills and four aces and Rose Hazam and Erin Devine combined for 14 kills. CHS head coach Pat Cawley said Theresa O’Brien provided a spark off the bench with 14 service points.

Stoughton, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalThe Black Knights stretched their unbeaten streak to six wins to start the season with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 sweep of Foxboro. SHS junior Hanna Holden had a strong game with 14 assists and 9 digs while senior Haley Stone and junior Mia Bennett were solid in the back row combining for over 30 digs. 

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong well-rounded game, leading the Panthers to a sweep at home. Wisniewski had seven kills, five aces and two digs while Meaghan Maguire added eight kills and Lauren McGrath finished with 24 assists, three digs, three aces and two kills.

Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro survived a late push from visiting Sharon to complete a sweep (25-11, 25-12, 26-24) and move to 5-0. Senior Kezia De La Cruz had 13 kills and two assists, senior Amelia Murphy added nine kills and senior Leah Marceau paced the offense with 20 assists and four aces.

King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalKing Philip went on the road to pick up a sweep of the Tigers, 25-19, 25-11, 25-12. Sydney Phillips led the offensive charge with 11 kills and three digs while Michaela Palumbo added six kills, three aces and 11 service points. Kat Kmetz chipped in with five aces, two kills, one dig and 16 service points.

Canton supported Wilkinson with 15 hits, including a 4-for-5 day for junior Matt Casamento who scored two runs and drove in two others. Senior Danny Hartnett went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, senior Kevin Monagle went 3-for-5 with two RBI and freshman Nate Quan went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Mansfield, 4 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – FinalMansfield senior Nolan Dousa tossed a complete game shutout, scattering six hits and two walks while striking out six batters. Sophomore Dan Saraceno stepped up at the plate for the Hornets, going 3-for-3 while knocking in two runs. Mansfield scored three runs in the third inning and added one more in the fourth inning. Zack Peterson added an RBI for Mansfield.

Mansfield, 12 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – Final – Mansfield got off to a great start in the first inning with five runs. Mady Bendanillo, Liz Mackin, and Mackenzie Burke each drove in runs with base hits and Sarah Cahill and Sarah Bradley each drew bases loaded walks for RBI. Megan Letendre had three hits for the Hornets, Bendanillo went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, and Marissa Staffier, Burke, and Mackin each had two hits.

King Philip, 6 @ Franklin, 18 – FinalFranklin led by just three (7-4) at halftime but pulled away with a dominant second half to beat KP. Caroline Lounsbury had four goals and three assists, Annie Walsh added five goals and two assists and and Jordan Jette finished with two goals and three assists. FHS head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said Grace MacCallum and Annie Walsh did well on the draw, combining for 15 draw controls. Freshman Gianna Cameron made eight saves in net for the Panthers.

Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final (8 inn.)Mansfield notched its fifth straight win and qualified for the state tournament behind a complete game shutout from sophomore Connor Sheehan. Sheehan struck out a career-high 10 batters in eight innings of work, allowing just four hits and two walks. Zach Peterson knocked in Matt Farragher (2-for-4) with a double in the top of the eighth for the lone run. Kevin Dow went 3-for-3 for Mansfield as well. Attleboro’s Eoin Kelleher had another solid outing on the mound, allowing just the one run in eight innings of work with two strikeouts. Matt Callahan had two hits for Big Blue.

Milford, 8 @ Canton, 4 – FinalMilford’s offense exploded for five runs in the third inning to extend its lead to six and tacked on two more in the sixth before holding off a seventh inning rally from Canton. Alex Macek got the win, tossing 6.2 innings with no runs allowed, five strikeouts and six hits. Ryan Goncalves went 2-for-4 with two runs, Anthony Arcudi was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and Luke Allegrezza had two hits and two RBI. Canton’s Kevin Monagle went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Stoughton, 8 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalStoughton senior Justin Hutchinson needed just 88 pitches to toss a complete game shutout on the road at Foxboro. Hutchinson allowed just four hits, struck out five and didn’t issue a walk to earn the win.

Taunton, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalFranklin emerged from another pitcher’s duel with a close 2-1 win over visiting Taunton. FHS junior Jason Ulrickson tossed a complete game, scattering five hits, issuing one walk and striking out five to earn the win. Taunton’s Tyler Medeiros also allowed five hits with just one talk, striking out seven in six innings of work. Tyler Gomes had a double and a run scored for the Panthers while Ulrickson accounted for the other run. Sophomore Alex Haba was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Cam Lupien brought the Panthers’ other run home with a sacrifice fly. Taunton’s Christian Simoes was 2-for-3 and scored on an RBI double from Joe Manchester.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – FinalOliver Ames broke a tie game open with five runs in the bottom of the second inning, giving sophomore Tom Parker a lead he wouldn’t relinquish in a complete game effort. Parker allowed just three hits while walking two and striking out a pair. Both Alden Newman and Kyle Gagliardi went 1-for-2 for the Tigers, each scoring a run and each knocking in one as well.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalAfter allowing the first four batters to reach, North Attleboro’s Matt Iaconis settled in to toss a complete game with just one run allowed and two strikeouts to help the Rocketeers pick up a win on the road. After North went up 1-0 in the top of the first, Sharon rattled off three straight singles and tied the game on a hit batter. From there, Iaconis escaped the bases loaded jam with three straight outs. He allowed just four hits the rest of the way and didn’t issue a walk. North tacked on two runs in the top of the second, three in the third and one more in the fifth. John Brennan went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, Kyle McCarthy was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, Zach DeMattio went 2-for-3 including a triple and Aidan Harding had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Softball
Attleboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalAttleboro rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to turn a 2-1 deficit into a one-run victory. Jenna Gittle led off with a double to start the seventh inning and hits from Emily Gittle and Ashley Macia pushed across the tying and winning runs for the Bombardiers. McKenzie Bergdoll earned the win, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts, allowing just four hits. Mansfield scored both of its runs in the second inning. Liz Mackin led-off with a single and, after a sacrifice bunt, scored on a single by Sarah Cahill. Caty DeMassi singled in the second run. The Hornets loaded the bases in the final frame but could not push across the tying run.

Canton, 1 @ Milford, 19 – Final (5 inn.)Milford junior Emily Piergustavo notched her 100th career hit, one of 18 that the Hawks belted out. Piergustavo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs while Maggie Farrell went 4-for-4 with a triple, four runs scored and two RBI and Jess Tomaso went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs, four RBI and a towering home run to left. Kaitlyn DeCapua added two hits, two runs and an RBI, Shannon Cormier had two hits, including a double, and two RBI and Emily Hartman launched a three-run home run. Kelley Reichert earned the win, scattering five this with five strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Foxboro, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalGina Carafa struck out 10 Foxboro hitters, including her 100th strikeout of the season, and scattered four hits to pick up the win. Nikki Coppola drove in both of Stoughton’s runs with a two-out single in the third and Shannon Flaherty was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate for the Black Knights. Foxboro cut the lead in half in the sixth inning when Kelly Fisher drove in Kelly Mccarthy with a sac fly off a great running catch by Alessandra Loffredo.

Franklin, 0 @ Taunton, 12 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton’s offense got off to a strong start, plating a pair of runs in the first inning then blowing the game open with six runs in the second. Jaime Brown went 4-for-4 and scored four whiles while Kya Enos (two hits) knocked in four runs. MacKenzie Handrahan knocked in three runs on a pair of hits, McKenzie McAloon added two hits and eighth grader Hannah Aldrich hit her first career home run for the Tigers. Courtney Fisher struck out four without issuing a walk, allowing just one hit (fifth inning) and two total base runners.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 12 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip junior Jess Bonner collected three hits and knocked in three runs and junior Elise Pereira knocked in three runs on a pair of doubles to pace the Warriors’ offense. Hailey McCasland added two hits while Jenn Hutnyan (two hits, three RBI) threw four scoreless innings, striking out eight. Victoria Ziner, Lexie Campbell and Kayla Georgeu each had a hit for OA.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 8 – FinalFreshman Bella Erti allowed two unearned runs in the first but retired 18 of the final 19 hitters that she faced to seal the win for North and book a place for the Rocketeers in the state tournament. Erti allowed one hit and struck out 13, while adding a pair of hits at the plate. With the game tied at 2-2 in the fourth, Abby Gallagher drove in two with a single. Abby Warren, Olivia Capobianco, and Gallagher each reached base three times and Meg Barlow added a pair of hits.

Attleboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 12 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Zach McGowan registered six points, completing a hat trick with his 100th career strike. Owen Costello added three goals and an assist, Colin Young scored once and had two helpers, and Tommy Lindstrom and Jack Dakin each found the back of the net once and registered two assists. Hunter Sarro, Damien Curtis and Jason McNeany (nine face off wins) each scored once and Andy DeMattio had one assist. Dan MacDonald turned away 11 shots in net for the Rocketeers.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 7 – FinalFranklin built a 5-1 lead by halftime and shut Canton out in the second half in a low scoring frame. Franklin sophomore Jacob Alexander won all 12 face offs that he took in the game while classmate Nitin Chaudhury notched a hat trick to pace the Panthers’ offense. Eric Civetti scored twice, Chase Tanner and Jack Platner each found the back of the net once and Sam Arsenault recorded two assists. Packie Watson, Kyle McEniry and Pat Morrison each had one assist and Connor O’Rourke made six saves in net.

Foxboro, 4 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip’s Conor Khung intercepted a pass just above the restraining then launched a pass from the face off circle, finding John DeLuca, who tucked away the game-winning goal with 17 seconds left to hand KP a close win over visiting Foxboro. Tim Watson and Nate Minkwitz each scored twice while Paul Macrina made 17 saves to keep Foxboro at bay.

Mansfield, 14 @ Milford, 4 – Final

Taunton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 16 – FinalJunior Jack Lang and freshman Sandro Masciarelli each notched a pair of goals as Oliver Ames rolled to a big win. Seniors Mike Young, Robbie Almeida and Liam Brown, junior Ryan Bennett, sophomore Colin Bourne and freshman Sam Stevens each scored once for OA.

North Attleboro, 16 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalKenzie Rosenberg scored five goals to lead the Rocketeers to the win, including the 150th goal of her career. Chloe Olsen scored three goals and had three assists for North and head coach Mike Vitelli said that Kayla Moulin played will in goal.

Franklin, 15 @ Canton, 3 – FinalCaroline Lounsbury paced Franklin’s offense with four goals while Lauren Bissanti notched a pair of goals for the Panthers. Mairead Goguen notched a goal and an assist and Annie Walsh (two goals, assists) had seven draw controls.

King Philip, 6 @ Foxboro, 15 – FinalMeg Curran scored four goals to lead the way for the Warriors, while Jackie Brion and Caroline Boudreau each scored hat tricks. With the win, Foxboro clinched the outright Davenport division title, its sixth straight league championship.

Milford, 6 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalThe Hornets had nine different goal scorers and booked a place in the state tournament with their ninth win of the season.

Oliver Ames, 16 @ Taunton, 10 – FinalChloe Kikelly scored four goals while Liv Piazza, Sofia Masciarelli and Emalyn Duvall each recorded hat tricks in Oliver Ames’ win on the road. Alex O’Connor added two goals, Sarah Stevens scored once and Ari Waldorf recorded 18 saves for OA. Taunton was led by Abbey Kingman’s hat trick and two goals apiece from Delaney Powell, Alana Tavares, and Kayla Phillips. Lorna Li made 15 saves in defeat.

Sharon, 17 @ Ursuline, 9 – FinalAnna Crosby and Sabrina Robbins each scored their 100th career goals for the Eagles in the win.

Franklin, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalFranklin won all five matches in straight sets, with its second doubles pairing registering a win without losing a game. Rahul Herur won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles, Eli Brooks took second singles 6-2, 6-0 and Rohan Herur won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. The team of James Johnson and Derek Wu notched a 6-1, 6-1 win at first doubles and Tyler DiPalma and Rahul Hosdurg walked away with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip emerged with a sweep, dropping just two games total against Oliver Ames. Cole Ginter (first singles), Blake Ginter (second singles) and Martin Matous (third singles) each won 6-0, 6-0. The team of Ryan Gemelli and Sam Colella won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Marco DiStefano and Jake Webster notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Sharon, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalFor the 38th straight year, a Hockomock League championship banner belongs to Sharon. With a 4-1 win, the Eagles clinched at least a share of the Davenport division title, stretching its historic streak to 38 years, dating back to 1980. Griffin Fein won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles, Andre Olivei recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at second singles and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Alex Romantz and Andre Olivei won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles for Sharon. North Attleboro’s Andrew Harris and Vikram Senthilakumaran won 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Mansfield, 4 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalMansfield swept singles playing, dropping just one game, and won one doubles game without losing a game to beat Attleboro. Paulina Martin (first) and Sarah Doyle (second) won 6-0, 6-0 in singles play while Elizabeth Elsner notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. Mansfield’s fourth win came via a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles by Chloe Peters and Tessa Garufi. Attleboro’s Katie Furtado and Brooklyn Palermo won 6-2, 6-4 at second doubles.

Milford, 4 @ Canton, 1 – FinalMilford swept singles play and added another win at first doubles to pick up a win on the road. Milford’s Julie Rabinowitz won 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 at first singles, Allison Buckenmaier won 6-0, 6-3 at second singles and Caitlin Carafella recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win at third singles. Victoria Beyer and Daniella Aroujo won 6-3, 7-6 at first doubles for the Hawks. Canton’s Stelina Michaelidis and Sarah Hernandez won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles.

Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro lost just two games in singles play in a sweep against Stoughton. Lexi Nelson won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Kayla Prag recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles and Julia Muise won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles for the Warriors. Olivia Dantona and Morgan Krockta won 6-2, 6-1 at first doubles and the team of Jacey Nicklas and Kendall Milender prevailed 6-4, 6-0 at second doubles.

Taunton, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalTaunton won four matches in straight sets, taking two wins at singles and two in doubles play. Jordan Pagliuca won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles and Jillian Pagliuca prevailed with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at third singles. The team of Ashleigh Eason and Emily Moor didn’t lose a game at first doubles and Jordan Martin and Caroline Hebert notched a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles.

King Philip, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalIt was a clean sweep for the Warriors, winning all five matches in straight sets to earn a win on the road. Becca Ricci won 6-3, 6-0 at first singles, Erin Regnier won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Meghan Sepich recorded a 6-0, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Megan Davenport and Carly Adams won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Corinne Palumbo and Gracie Jarest recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon earned a sweep and also earned at least a share of its third straight Davenport division title with a win over North. Sophomore Nupur Shukla won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, freshman Emily Zhang won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and junior Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The Eagles also won both doubles matches with Katie Merport and Emily Wen winning 6-4, 6-3 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein taking a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win at second doubles.

Milford, 0 vs. Millis, 3 – Final

Taunton, 3 vs. North Quincy, 1 – FinalTaunton snapped a two game skid with a big win at home at North Quincy, prevailing 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-22. Lance Law did it all for the Tigers, recording 17 kills, 10 digs, six blocks, two assists and an ace in the win. Lens Esquil added 12 kills and four blocks, Malik Charles had 19 digs, eight kills and three blocks and Nate Grant finished with 49 assists in the win.

North Attleboro, 9 @ Canton, 7 – FinalNorth Attleboro senior Owen Costello broke a tie game with less than three minutes to play in the fourth quarter and Big Red tacked on a final goal in the final seconds to edge Canton in a Davenport showdown. North jumped out to a 4-0 lead but Canton fought back to cut it to 5-3 at half. Goals from Matt Martin and Ryan Lodge in the third quarter tied the game for the Bulldogs. North Attleboro took a 7-6 lead into the final quarter. Canton tied it up before the Rocketeers scored the final two goals. Colin Young led Big Red with three goals, Zach McGowan had two goals and an assist and Tommy Lindstrom scored once and had three assists. Jack Dakin, Jason McNeany and Costello each scored once. Dan MacDonald made 12 saves for the Rocketeers. For Canton, Dan Dillon scored twice and had three assists, Martin (two goals) and Lodge (one goal, one assist) had had two points, Kevin Albert scored once and had one assist and Griffin Roach notched two helpers. Mike Shaw (goal) and Charlie O’Connor (assist) each had a point while freshman Jack Connolly made 13 saves.

Milford, 3 @ Foxboro, 19 – Final

Franklin, 15 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalFranklin sophomore Jacob Alexander dominated at the face off X, Connor O’Rourke and the Panthers defense pitched a shutout in the second half and four different players scored at least twice in the Panthers’ big win. Alexander won 16 of 17 face off attempts while O’Rourke made seven saves. The Panthers defense had a lock down effort in keeping Mansfield to its lowest output of the year. Eric Civetti had five goals and one assist, Packie Watson had two goals and two assists, Chase Tanner scored twice and had one helper and Nitin Chaudhury found the back of the net twice.

The Bombardiers were led by Kyra Lyons’s four goals and Mish Logie added three in the loss.

North Attleboro, 16 @ Canton, 6 – FinalKenzie Rosenberg paced the Rocketeers to a big Davenport victory with seven goals, while Katie Lindstrom had a hat trick and Emily Schromm had five draw controls for North.

Mansfield, 4 @ Franklin, 15 – FinalEight different players found the back of the net as Franklin bounced back from its first loss of the season with a key division win. Jordan Jette had two goals and two assists, Kelsey MacCallum netted a hat trick and Nicole Houlihan scored twice for the Panthers. Taunton, 3 vs. Brockton, 1 – FinalAfter splitting the first two games, Taunton pulled out two straight wins to knock off Brockton (25-22, 13-25, 25-19, 25-22). Lens Esquil had 13 kills and a block while Lance law had 18 digs, 10 kills, three blocks and an ace. “Lance played well all-around,” head coach Toby Chaperon said. Chaperon added that Gage Kingman (16 digs) played well in the back row for the Tigers.
