Girls Soccer
Stoughton, 0 @ Brockton, 2 – Final – Despite a penalty save by keeper Molly Fox and six shots on goal in the second half alone, Stoughton was unable to break through and suffered a non-league road loss at Brockton. The Black Knights started flat but picked things up after the break and put loads of pressure on the Boxers in the final 10 minutes but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Volleyball
Taunton, 1 @ Durfee, 3 – Final – Taunton stayed alive with a close win in the third set and nearly forced a fifth but suffered a 3-1 set back at Durfee (20-25, 15-25, 28-26, 23-25). Adrianna Amaral (11 kills) and Lea Selfridge (seven kills) played well at the net, Grace Bennett dished out 26 assists for the Tigers, and Sadie Herry was strong defensively with 22 digs and five aces.
Stoughton, 3 @ Seekonk, 0 – Final – Stoughton went on the road and secured a straight set win over Seekonk, winning 3-0. The Knights got a big boost at the service line as Alyssandra Joseph landed eight aces, Reagan Lewis (11 kills) notched seven aces, and Jina Kim added four aces in the win. Alex Benedetti had two blocks and Amy Nguyen played well defensively for Stoughton.
Field Hockey
Attleboro, 1 @ Durfee, 0 – Final – Attleboro converted a corner at the end of the first quarter and the Bombardiers’ defense denied Durfee for the entire hour of play to a 1-0 win on the road. Sophomore Isabella Soares finished off a nice corner play from the Bombardiers with freshman Brenna Aveiro and sophomore Megan Huntington recording assists on the play. “The girls played a really, really strong half,” relayed Attleboro head coach Jess Pink. Senior Siany Ortez-Amaya made nine saves in net to record the shutout for the Bombardiers.
Golf
Foxboro, 147 @ Stoughton, 188 – Final – Foxboro went on the road and returned with a win, taking down Stoughton on the links at Easton Country Club to clinch at least a share of the Davenport division title, the program’s first since 2010 — the first year the Hockomock League split into two divisions. Junior Zac Georgantas had a terrific round, firing a three-under-par medalist round of 33 to lead the way for the Warriors. Mike Ruo came in with a one-over-par round of 37, Ryan Wood chipped in with a 38, and Ryan O’Leary carded a season-low round of 39 for Foxboro. Stoughton’s Fred Spintig carded a team-best round of 44.
Mansfield, 168 @ Norton, 165 – Final – Mansfield came up just short in a non-league battle against Norton, who share the same clubhouse at Norton Country Club. Senior Hayden O’Connor had a team-low round of 40 for the Hornets, senior Brendan Vokey came in with a 42, and both sophomore Anthony Dileso and junior Chase McDonald finished the round with a 43.

Division 3
#37 Belchertown, 2 @ #28 Foxboro, 0 – Final (8 inn.) – Foxboro junior Ryan O’Leary was stellar on the mound but the Warriors’ offense went silent against visiting Belchertown in the state tournament opener for both teams. O’Leary only allowed four hits and three walks, allowing two unearned runs in the top of the eighth while striking out 10 batters. The Warriors had seven hits on the day, and put the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the eighth, but couldn’t generate a run. Tyler Prescott and Mike Marcucella had back-to-back one out singles in the eighth but were stranded at second and third. Nolan Gordon had two hits for Foxboro.
Softball
Division 3
#17 Foxboro, 6 @ #16 Danvers, 0 – Final – A three-run first inning handed Foxboro an early advantage and junior Vittoria Cuscia tossed a complete game shutout as the Warriors knocked off Danvers on the road. Emma Callahan (leadoff single), Natalia Leach (RoE), and Meghan Kelly (double) all scored in the first, including the latter two on a two-run single from Cuscia. Kelly drove in Callahan in the top of the fifth and Leach (double) scored on a ground out from Cuscia to tack on two more in the fifth, and Callahan had a two-out RBI single to plate Fiona Dunn in the top of the sixth to make it 6-0. Cuscia was dominant in the circle, scattering just four hits without issuing a walk while striking out five for the win. #17 Foxboro awaits the winner of #1 Dighton-Rehoboth against the winner of #32 Notre Dame (Worcester) and #33 Greater Lawrence Tech.
