Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton junior Jack Moynihan struck out nine batters without allowing a walk or a run in 6.2 innings of work to help the Tigers beat visiting Foxboro. The Tigers pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on one more in the fourth inning. Evan Melo had two hits for the Tigers while Sean Quinlan and Jacob Crawford each had an RBI. Foxboro’s Michael Devlin went 2-for-3 on the day.

Stoughton, 11 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalStoughton overcame an early five-run deficit, tying the game and taking the lead in the fifth inning, and added five insurance runs in the top of the seventh to get the win on the road. Stoughton scored two runs in each the third and fourth innings to get within a run. Senior Ruben Gonzalez led off with a triple in the fifth and scored on a squeeze from George Currier. Stoughton took the lead when Matt Hadley doubled and scored on a two-out single from Robbie Seaman. Zak Paquette got the win for the Black Knights with three earned runs allowed, no walks, and two strikeouts.

Franklin, 12 @ Canton, 6 – FinalFranklin pushed across five runs in the first inning, highlighted by Jackie Cherry’s three-run home run, and never trailed in a win on the road at Canton. The Panthers added four more runs in the second and then added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Tara Hartnett had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI, Peyton Arone went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Natalie Stott had a two-run single. Cherry and Emily Valentino combined for 10 strikeouts for Franklin.

Taunton, 16 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final (5 inn.)Taunton senior Kya Enos went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs and sophomore Payton Ceglarski had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBI as the Tigers notched a big win on the road. McKenzie McAloon went 2-for-2 with two RBI, Mackenzie Handrahan had two hits, including a double, and knocked in a pair of runs, and Jaime Brown and Kelsey White each had two hits and an RBI. Alexa White earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits while striking out eight.

King Philip, 14 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalMeghan Gorman recorded four RBI and scored three runs and Sydney Phillips added three hits and two runs scored to pace the Warriors to a big win. Hailey McCasland, Nicole Carter, Faith Turinese, and Brooke Taute all had multiple hits on the day with KP totaling 17 as a team. Elise Pereira pitched a complete game, allowing three runs in the first but then blanked the Black Knights over the next six. Stoughton’s Gina Carafa was 3-for-3 with a double and two singles, Jordan Lyons was 2-for-4 with a double, and Karly Estremera added another hit. SHS coach Deb Parker noted catcher Brianna Ferrandiz had an outstanding game defensively.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 3 @ North Attleboro, 12 – FinalNorth Attleboro got it done on both ends of the field in a non-league win over Attleboro. Tommy Lindstrom had four goals and five assists, Andy DeMattio scored four goals, and Jack Connolly dished out three assists. Jason McNeany added two goals while Nick Ward and Nick Morse each scored once. North’s defense of Will Yeomans, Max Fontes, Brett Labonte, and Tom Lockavitch combined to force a dozen turnovers while Jack Puccio made five saves in net.

Foxboro, 13 vs. Bishop Feehan, 5 – Final

Milford, 8 @ Oliver Ames, 17 – FinalOliver Ames used a 10-0 run between the second and third quarters to record a win over visiting Milford. Owen Gallagher (one goal, five assists) notched his 100th career point in the win while Sam Stevens and Eric LeBlanc finished with four goals apiece. Frankie Ireland finished with seven points (two goals, five assists) for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 17 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalAfter a week off, North Attleboro got back on track with a big win on the road. Mackenzie Rosenberg paced the Rocketeers with three goals and four assists, while Katie Lindstrom added four goals and an assist. Camille Pizarro had a hat trick for North, which also got goals from Lilly Cameron, Julia Tolfa, Lexi Sinacola, and Regan Fein. Faith Graveline and Kayla Moulin each made three saves in the North goal. Rocketeers coach Colleen Carchedi said of Attleboro that the Bombardiers played an “aggressive” game and had a strong second half.

Foxboro, 21 @ Bishop Feehan, 9 – FinalSophia DiCenso and Caroline Boudreau each scored five goals as the Warriors offense exploded for 21 goals in an impressive non-league win. Foxboro also dominated the draw controls with Boudreau, DiCenso, and Christina Rogers controlling the center circle and helping the Warriors win 23-of-29 in the game.

Franklin, 9 @ Attleboro, 7 – FinalFranklin’s Even Wendell made a spectacular catch to end the game with the tying run at the plate as the Panthers picked up a win on the road. Wendell (1-for-3, RBI) well full extension in the right-center gap to make the catch and secure the win. Bryan Woelfel earned the win on the mound, scattering eight hits over five innings of work, striking out three. Scott Elliott (2-4, two triples, two runs, two RBI), Alex Haba (2-for-3, triple, run, RBI), Jake Macchi (RBI), Colby Fitzgibbons (2-for-3, two runs) and Jake Noviello (3-for-4, two-run home run) all had strong days offensive for Franklin. Alvaro Espinel (2-4, double, run), Rob Furtado (3-for-4, run), Jon Candiales (2-for-4, triple) and Corey McKenna (2-for-3, run, two RBI) all had multiple hits for Attleboro.

Taunton, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 7 – FinalMatt McCormack struck out six and allowed two hits and two runs over five innings of relief to pick up the win for OA. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Mike Friel also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Chris Pearsons and C.J. Deveau each had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Softball
Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalJenna Gittle struck out four and pitched a complete game to pick up the win for the Bombardiers, scattering seven hits. Jackie Cherry had a no-hitter through four innings for Franklin but that was broken up by a MacKenzie Bergdoll (2-for-4) two-out double that brought in Kayla Battisti and Jordyn Lako to put Attleboro ahead 2-1. Gittle brought in Autumn O’Connell with a sac fly in the sixth for an important insurance run. Attleboro coach Mark Homer said both teams “played tight defense” throughout the game. Franklin’s Tara Hartnett knocked in Anna Balkus (2-for-4) in the third for the Panthers’ run.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ King Philip, 17 – Final (5 Inn.)Faith Turnese allowed four hits and just one run in five innings of work for the Warriors, who had 12 hits as a team. Sydney Phillips led the way offensively with three hits, including a double, while Jess Bonner and Elise Pereira each had a pair of hits. One of the hits for Pereira was a grand slam. Lexie Campbell was 2-3 scoring the only run for the Tigers. Caroline Mahoney was 1-2 with an RBI and Katie Mills was 1-2.


Boys Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 7 @ Hopkinton, 11 – FinalNorth Attleboro dropped a close game on the road against a good Hopkinton team. Andy DeMattio and Damien Curtis each scored a pair of goals, Tommy Lindstrom had three assists and Jason McNeany (12-for-18 at the face off X) added a goal and an assist. McNeany also added 10 ground balls while Max Fontes had eight for the Rocketeers. Jake McNeany made 15 saves in net for Big Red.

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – FinalFranklin moved to 6-0 on the season, sweeping visiting Attleboro. Rohan Herur won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Liam Marr notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles and Tyler St. Marie emerged with a 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-7 win at third singles. The team of Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu didn’t drop a game in a win at first doubles and Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Canton, 4 @ Milford, 1 – Final

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip didn’t lose a game in either singles matches and swept doubles play to beat Oliver Ames. Marco DiStefano (first singles) and Nick Putney (second singles) both won 6-0, 6-0 while Jack Cannon took a win at third singles via forfeit. Jack Mager and Luke Morreale won 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) at first doubles while Andy Cook and Tom Donahue picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Franklin, 1 @ Attleboro, 4 – Final – Attleboro defended home court against Franklin with two wins in singles play and two more at doubles. Torey Lussier won 6-2, 6-4 at first single and Brianna Arone picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at second singles for the Bombardiers. Senior Merri Piazza and sophomore Rena Danho won 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 12-10 at first doubles while sophomores Nicole Matheson and Jill See emerged with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at second doubles. Franklin junior Krissy Stoyonova won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles.

Foxboro, 0 vs. Martha’s Vineyard, 5 – Final

King Philip, 4 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalKing Philip took all three singles matches in straight sets to earn a win on the road at Oliver Ames. Erin Regnier won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Meghan Sepich notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles, and Caitlin Gonser recorded a 6-4, 6-1 win at third singles. King Philip’s Hannah Putney and Lucy Barnard emerged in three sets (6-3, 5-7, 6-3) to earn the fourth point for the Warriors. Oliver Ames’ Kristin Bloumbas and Emily Yu won 6-1, 6-4 at first doubles.

Attleboro, 47 @ Mansfield, 89 – FinalAmanda Mangano won three events for the Hornets, taking first in the 200, long jump, and the high jump. Bryn Anderson set a new personal record in the mile, finishing first in a time of 5:36.9, which was seven seconds faster than her previous best. Alicia Hottleman also set a PR in the 400 and recorded her first win in the event with a time of 66.2. Sophomore Lily Goulding won the javelin and her classmate Julia Miller beat her PR by four seconds to win the 800.

Taunton, 3 @ North Quincy, 2 – FinalThe Tigers improved to 7-0 on the season with a 25-21, 24-26, 17-25, 26-24, 15-9 come from behind victory. Ricardo DaFonseca led the way for Taunton with 50 assists, four blocks, and a block on the final point that sealed the win. Lens Esquil had 14 kills and seven blocks, Lance Law had 15 kills and Malik Charles had eight kills for the Tigers, while Alex Tavares and Collin Hunter each contributed five kills and two blocks apiece in the win.

Franklin, 10 @ Bishop Feehan, 3 – Final Franklin’s offense had its best outing of the season, plating 10 runs in a big win over Feehan. The Panthers had 10 runs over the first five games but equaled that amount in the win over the Shamrocks. Alex Haba (2-for-3, triple, run), JB Flores (run), and Jake Macchi (3-for-5, run) each knocked in a pair of runs for the Panthers while Jack Nally (1-2, two walks, two runs) and Evan Wendell (2-for-4, run) each had one RBI. Scott Elliott added two hit and a run and Colby Fitzgibbons chipped in with a hit, a walk, and two runs scored. Ben Guzman (1.2 IP, 2H, 2K) and Michael Langmeyer (1.0 IP) didn’t allow a run in relief appearances.

Milford, 1 @ Hopedale, 2 – FinalMilford sophomore Colby Pires had a strong outing on the mound, tossing a complete game with five strikeouts but the Hawks lost by a run. Aidan Wilde went 2-for-3, including a double, and scored a run for Milford.

North Attleboro, 13 @ Sharon, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro took the lead with three runs in the third inning and then broke the game wide open with nine runs — all with two outs — in the seventh to beat Sharon. Aidan Harding singled and pinch-runner Jackson Billingkoff stole second and moved to third on a single from Peter Cohen. Brendan McHugh knocked Billingkoff in with an RBI single, Nick Sinacola plated Cohen with a double, and McHugh came around on a Zach DeMattio RBI groundout. In the seventh, DeMattio (two-run) and Nate Pearce hit back-to-back home runs and McHugh added a two-run double. Cohen went the distance on the mound for North, striking out seven to earn the win.

King Philip, 5 @ Newton North, 8 – FinalKing Philip nearly orchestrated a big comeback, scoring five runs in the top of the seventh but fell short on the road at Newton North. Elise Pereira belted a three-run homer in the seventh to help the Warriors get back into the game. Faith Turnese had two hits and allowed just two runs in a relief appearance, tossing the last three innings. KP had a strong day on defense with Jess Bonner turning a double play, Sydney Phillips gunning a runner out at the plate, and Destiny Goyco picking off a runner at first.

Milford, 15 vs. Hopedale, 1 – Final (5 inn.)Milford pushed across seven runs in both the second and third innings on its way to a big win over Hopedale. Each player in the Hawks lineup had a hit, totaling 16 as a team. Emily Hartman (3-for-4) and Jess Tomaso (2-for-3, two runs) each had a double and three RBI to pace the offense. Emily Piergustavo added a grand slam and Sabrina Haarstick knocked in two runs. Kelley Reichert got the win, striking out nine in four innings of work.

Foxboro, 17 vs. Catholic Memorial, 8 – FinalFoxboro’s Shayne Kerrigan dominated at the face off X, winning all but two draws to help the Warriors dethrone Catholic Memorial and win the Chowda Cup title. Louis Piccolo had his way on the offensive end, netting a team-high seven goals while adding three assists. Foxboro led 7-5 at half but dominated the third quarter to create separation. Brendan Tully and Mike Moses each scored three goals and Pete Conley had one goal and three helpers.

Mansfield, 9 @ Attleboro 2 – FinalMansfield struck for five runs in the top of the third inning and never looked back on the road at Attleboro. Senior Tyler Dalton earned the win on the mound, striking out six in five innings of work with three hits and two runs allowed. Jake Gerraughty and Justin Pena each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Kyle Moran (RBI), Dan Saraceno, and Kevin Dow (three RBI) each had two hits apiece to pace the Mansfield offense.

Canton, 7 @ Norwood, 9 – Final

Foxboro, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalStoughton edged Foxboro in a pitchers duel between Zak Paquette (S) and Steve McLaughlin (F). Paquette allowed just one run on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a complete game effort. McLaughlin allowed two runs in over five innings of work for the Warriors. George Currier (2-for-3) came up with the big hit for Stoughton, connecting on a two-strike, two-out, two-RBI single in the first inning.

Franklin, 1 @ Walpole, 0 – FinalFranklin senior Jake Noviello dazzled in a complete game effort, helping the Panthers pick up a 1-0 win. Noviello blanked the Rebels through seven innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out six. Franklin’s lone run came off the bat of James Leofanti, scoring classmate Steve Luttazi (2-for-3) on a sacrifice fly. Jake Macchi and Jack Nally also had two hits for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Bishop Feehan, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro turned a pitchers’ duel into an impressive with behind a big fifth inning. The Rocketeers pushed eight runs across in the fifth inning, all with two outs. Big Red loaded the bases (Nick Sinacola single, Zach DeMattio walk, Nate Pearce walk) to get things started. Nolan Buckley had a two-run single, Aidan Harding (4-for-4) knocked in a run with an infield single, Sinacola (4-for-5) got back up and plated two with a single and Jeff Gale capped the scoring with a two-run single. Sinacola got the win on the mound, throwing a complete game with 10 strikeouts and just two walks. He had a no-hitter through four innings of play.

Sharon, 1 vs. Archbishop Williams, 6 – Final

Taunton, 6 vs. Durfee, 5 – FinalTaunton scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to knot the score at five and scored the game-winning run an inning later to stay unbeaten so far this season. Christian Simoes (two RBI), Tyler Medeiros (two hits), and Jack Moynihan (two hits) all had RBIs in the fifth inning to tie the game. Trevor Pietrzyk (two hits) drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Medeiros earned the win on the mound, striking out five with six hits allowed in six innings. Josh Lajoie pitched a scoreless seventh inning to record the save.

Milford, 2 vs. Concord-Carlisle, 3 – Final

Softball
Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 15 – Final (5 inn.)Foxboro opened the game with two runs in the top of the first inning but Stoughton answered with four runs in the bottom half to take the lead and never look back. The Black Knights added single runs in each the second, third, and fourth innings and then exploded for eight runs in the fifth to get the win. Gina Carafa (three doubles) and Nikki Cappola (two doubles) each finished with four hits and three RBI to pace the Stoughton offense. Lexi Baptista and Bri Ferrandiz each had two RBI as well. Hannah Davis had two hits for Foxboro, including the 100th of her career. Carafa got the win in the circle, striking out eight with three hits and two walks allowed in five innings of work.

Franklin, 1 @ Taunton, 14 – Final (5 inn.)The Tigers scored in four of the five innings of play in a big win over visiting Franklin. Jaime Brown (three runs), Liana Duarte (three RBI), Mackenzie Handrahan (two RBI) and Kelsey White (two runs) each recorded two hits for Taunton while Payton Ceglarski chipped in with a pinch-hit two-run home run and Rylie Murphy had a pinch-hit two-run single. Jaylin Couto struck out three with four hits allowed in four innings of work. Alexis White recorded three strikeouts in one inning of relief. Ally Shea went 2-for-3 for the Panthers. Kylie Bouzan knocked in courtesy runner Maggie Hobby in the fourth inning for Franklin’s run.

King Philip, 16 @ Bishop Feehan, 6 – FinalKing Philip’s offense roared to life, belting out 16 hits in a big win on the road at Bishop Feehan. Hailey McCasland and Jessica Bonner (three RBI) each had three hits for the Warriors while Marjorie Guerrier, Meghan Gorman (three RBI), Brooke Taute, and Sydney Phillips each had two hits. Bonner put the Warriors ahead, 8-6, with a hit in the top of the sixth inning. Faith Turnese allows just one hit in three innings of relief work to earn the win.

Milford, 11 vs. Hopkinton, 2 – FinalMilford’s offense continued to roll, putting up 11 runs against neighboring Hopkinton. Jess Tomaso had a big day at the plate with three hits, including a home run and a double, whiling knocking in four runs and scoring once. Kelley Reichert went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and earned the win in the circle, striking out six without allowing an earned run in five innings of work. Kate Irwin (double, stolen base), Emily Piergustavo (RBI, run), Emily Hartman (double), and Shannon Cormier (double, two runs) each had two hits for the Hawks.

Mansfield 13, @ Needham, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Sarah Cahill struck out seven and allowed only one hit as the Hornets starter and Felicity McMullin struck out one in relief. Mansfield started well with a run in the first before breaking the game open by scoring five runs in each of the second and third innings and adding a pair in the fourth. Caty DeMassi went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Kerran Holmes went 2-for-2 with an RBI. The Hornets also got hits from Kara Bendanillo, Megan Letendre, Mady Bendanillo, Grace Benton, and Mary Muldoon.

Boys Lacrosse
Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 16 – FinalCanton jumped out to a quick start, building an 11-1 lead by halftime. The Bulldogs had nine different scorers including first-career goals from senior Brian Ghostlaw and sophomore Tommy Ghostlaw. Freshman Dylan Coyne had a shutout in net in the fourth quarter for Canton.

Milford, 16 @ Northbridge, 5 – FinalMilford freshman Jack LeBlanc was impressive at the face off X in his first varsity game, winning 8-of-13 attempts to help the Hawks pick up the win. Brendan White (five goals) and Andrew Gallagher (two goals, four assists) paced the offense while Ryan Hazard had a strong all-around game with four goals and five ground balls.

Oliver Ames, 20 @ Milton, 0 – FinalOliver Ames received strong defensive efforts from Shane Murphy, Matt Saba, and Mark Vasapollo to help goalie Nick Gillis record a shutout on the road against Milton. Owen Gallagher paced the offense with six goals while Eric LeBlanc added three tallies.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 11 @ Oliver Ames, 19 – Final – Emalyn Duvall, Chloe Kilkelly, Ella Hogan, Olivia Piazza and Sofia Masciarelli all tallied points for OA while Ariana Waldorf had a strong game in net. Maggie Connolly scored four goals for the Bulldogs and Vicki Revenge stepped in as the back-up goalie to make 11 saves in the loss.

Mansfield, 3 vs. Norton, 2 – FinalMansfield notched two wins in singles play and one in doubles to pick up a non-league win over Norton. The team of juniors Tessa Garufi and Hannah Podolske had the game of the match, earning a 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (8-6) win at first doubles for the Hornets. Senior Sarah Doyle won 6-3, 6-3 at first singles while junior Elizabeth Elsner recorded a 6-4, 6-3 decision at second singles.

#4 Oliver Ames, 1 vs. #1 Nauset, 0 – Final (5-4 PKs)Oliver Ames went toe-to-toe with the defending D2 State Champs, and one of the highest ranked teams in the state, and prevailed in penalty kicks. Senior goalie Jack Carroll made a diving save to his left on the third shot of PKs to make a huge save. James Gillespie, Chris Lawrence, Matt Alvarado, Brandin Osborne and Nathaniel Cardoza all converted their penalty attempts, with Cardoza’s strike clinching the win. Fourth-seeded OA advances to its third D2 South final in the past four years and will take on #6 Pembroke on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:15 PM.
