Franklin senior Ella Marzullo has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for Sept. 21 through Sept. 27. Marzullo is the third athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2026-27 school year.
Marzullo scored four goals and dished out an assist to lead Franklin to a pair of massive wins that put the Panthers in the driver’s seat for an eighth consecutive Kelley-Rex division title, while extending the program’s league unbeaten streak to 112 games. The Merrimack-commit enters the week second in the Hock with 14 goals and tied for third with 18 points.
“Ella Marzullo is an outstanding attacking forward who brings a combination of skill, field vision, and a natural instinct for finding the back of the net,” said Franklin head coach Michelle Hess. “She has developed into a dynamic offensive player who consistently puts pressure on opposing defenses and creates scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates.”
On Tuesday, in a title showdown with an Attleboro team coming off an impressive battle with Canton, Marzullo scored twice and dished out an assist in the opening quarter to put the Panthers in control and lead them to a statement win.
Two days later, Franklin squared off with Canton in a battle of undefeated teams. Marzullo had both goals in a 2-1 win. With chances few and far between, Marzullo opened the scoring with three minutes left in the first, touching the ball past a defender and lifting her shot inside the near post. Canton tied it but Marzullo popped up with what turned out to be the winner with just 37 seconds left in the first half. After her first two attempts were saved, Marzullo stuck with it and was able to get enough on a third shot to force it over the line.
