Boys Hockey
Taunton, 10 @ Durfee, 1 – FinalSenior Andrew Carter recorded four points while Mike Albert, Jaden Weyant, and Nathan Fernandes each had three points as the Tigers opened the season with a win. Carter scored once and had three helpers, Albert and Fernandes each scored once and had two helpers, and Weyant scored twice and recored one assist.

Boys Swimming
Attleboro, 100 @ Mansfield, 63 – FinalAttleboro had seven individual first place finishes and won three relay events to score a win over Mansfield. Colton Parkinson won a pair of events, qualifying for sectionals in one event and states in another while Connor Dunn also touched first in a pair of individual races. Parkinson qualified for states in the 200 IM (2:04.70) and sectionals in the 500 free (5:15.71). Alex Harrop (100 fly, 1:06.56), Matt Marcum (100 back, 1:06.68), and Damien Geltrude (100 breast) all had first place finishes. The 200 medley relay (Marcum, Parkinson, Harrop, Dunn) won in 1:55.67, the 200 free relay (Marcum, Zach Moore, Dunn, Parkinson) finished first in 1:41.17, and the 400 free relay (Harrop, Calvin Maragnano, Nick Tellier, Brett Wortham) touched in a winning time of 4:22.90.

Franklin, 64 vs. Bishop Feehan, 106 – Final

Girls Swimming
Attleboro, 100 @ Mansfield, 67 – FinalTiffany Chin and Liz Saltz each won a pair of events and were members of two winning relay teams to help the Bombardiers beat Mansfield. Chin won the 500 free (5:55.80) and the 100 back (1:08.34) while Saltz qualified for sectionals in both the 200 IM (2:25.60) and the 100 free (58.93). Chin and Saltz joined Jackie Lynch Bartek and Corinne Perry to win the 200 medley (2:06.82) and teamed up with Ella Lynch-Barket and Jackie Lynch-Bartek for the 200 free relay (1:53.93), qualifying for sectionals. Jackie Lynch-Bartek also won the 100 breaststroke (1:19.56) while Ella Lynch-Bartek took first in the 200 free (2:12.02).

Boys Basketball
Canton, 55 @ Attleboro, 59 – FinalAttleboro built a 12-point lead by halftime but Canton chipped away in the second half, making it a one-point game late in the fourth quarter. Bombardiers junior Bryant Cicco (17 points) answered with a layup with less than a minute to play to extend the lead to 58-55 and junior Qualeem Charles (13 points) hit a free throw in the final moments to ice the win for Attleboro. Mason Houle added 13 points and Tim Callahan chipped in with 11 points with three three-pointers for Attleboro. Canton senior Devin Foster scored a game-high 27 points, including 16 in the second half, to help the Bulldogs get back in the game. Robbie Gallery added 11 points for Canton.

Milford, 29 @ Franklin, 64 – FinalAfter a slow first quarter for both teams (8-4 Panthers), Franklin built a 25-12 lead at halftime and kept that lead the rest of the way in a win over Milford. Franklin junior Chris Edgehill scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to keep the Panthers ahead while Jalen Samuels chipped in with 12 points. Franklin had five players score in a 17-point second quarter that helped create the separation. Senior Brendan White led the Hawks with 15 points.

North Attleboro, 48 @ Taunton, 73 – FinalTaunton had a strong start to both the first and third quarters to earn a win over visiting North Attleboro. The Tigers put up 26 points in the opening quarter with six players scoring a field goal, and took a 43-29 lead at halftime. Taunton opened the second half with an 11-2 run and never looked back. Tigers junior Dante Law scored 11 of his game-high 21 points in the third quarter to help Taunton pull away. Naz Kenion (12 points), Lou Vendrell (11 points), and John Martins (10 points) all scored in double-figures for Taunton. North Attleboro’s Josh Montague had a team-high 15 points, Nate Gonsalves added 13 points and sophomore George Ladd recorded 10 points in his varsity debut.

Stoughton, 39 @ Oliver Ames, 57 – FinalHolding a three-point lead at the break (25-22), Oliver Ames had a big third quarter to pull away from visiting Stoughton. The Tigers limited the Black Knights to just two points in the third quarter while scoring 15 points to take a 40-24 lead into the final quarter. Oliver Ames senior Ethan Eckstrom scored half of his career-high 16 points in the third quarter while Sean O’Brien and Jake Erlich each added 10 points in the win. Stoughton junior Myles Grigalunas-Powell scored a team-high 11 points for the Black Knights.

Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 39 @ Canton, 53 – FinalFreshman Kiara Cerruti scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and had five assists on her varsity debut and classmate Fay Gallery had 16 points on four three-pointers in her first varsity action to lead the Bulldogs to a season opening win.

Mansfield, 50 @ Foxboro, 59 – FinalKatelyn Mollica led the way for the Warriors with 21 points, including four three-pointers and 9-of-10 shooting at the free throw line. Yara Fawaz and Abby Hassman each scored eight points and Chelsea Gibbons pulled down 12 rebounds in the win. Maggie Danehy scored 11 points and Mady Bendanillo had 10 for the Hornets in the loss.

Franklin, 61 @ Milford, 20 – FinalFranklin jumped out in front early, leading 41-12 at halftime, and never looked back in both teams’ season opener. Ali Brigham scored 29 for the Panthers, who also got 10 points from Bea Bondhus and eight points from freshman Olivia Quinn in her varsity debut. Jillian Michelson scored seven points and Emma Lawrence had six for the Hawks.

King Philip, 49 @ Sharon, 39 – FinalShannon O’Connor scored 15 points for the Warriors in the season opener, despite sitting for a portion of the second half. Faith Roy added 13 points in the win and KP coach Amy Siggens praised Emma Glaser for her effort on the glass (nine rebounds) and on the defensive end.

North Attleboro, 41 @ Taunton, 44 – FinalTaunton got balanced scoring to earn the win in the leaguer opener for both teams. Lily Patneaude scored 13 points and grabbed six boards for the Tigers, while Kelsey White added 12 points and snatched eight steals. Sonya Fernandez had nine points and 10 boards, Jaelyn Fernandez had three points and 15 boards, and Alex White had seven points and five assists for Taunton. Julia Feid was the top scorer for the Rocketeers with 19 points.

Sharon, 58 @ Attleboro, 96 – FinalAttleboro’s Colton Parkinson qualified for states in both the 200 and 500 freestyle as the Bombardiers opened the season with a win. Attleboro’s 200 medley relay qualified for sectionals as well.

Girls Swimming
Sharon, 80 @ Attleboro, 89 – FinalAttleboro’s Liz Salts qualified for states in a pair of events to help the Bombarders open the season with a victory. Salts qualified for states in both the 100 free and 200 free while Jackie Lynch-Bartek qualified for sectionals in the 100 breaststroke. The Bombardiers’ 200 free relay also qualified for states.

King Philip, 3 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 4 – FinalKing Philip took a 1-0 lead after the first period, but Coyle outscored the Warriors 2-1 in the final period to pick up the win. Chris Daniels scored a pair of goals for King Philip and assisted on the third, a goal from Collin Cooke.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Bishop Feehan, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro cut the deficit in half with a third-period goal from Drew Wissler (assisted by Anthony Zamiello) but couldn’t find the back of the net again in a setback against the Shamrocks.

Taunton, 6 vs. Somerset-Berkley, 2 – FinalTaunton opened its season in style with three players recording multiple points in a win over Somerset-Berkley. Cam Sneyd led the way with a goal and three assists while Mike Albert had a pair of goals and an assist and Andrew Carter scored twice. Andrew Gomes earned the win in net with 19 saves.

North Attleboro, 77 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro picked up an impressive win over an up and coming Taunton squad. The Rocketeers won 12 of the 14 matches by pin, including Brady Folan (120), Michael Edmonds (152), Adam Eberle (170), Reid Wills (182) and Brad White (285).

Oliver Ames, 57 @ Stoughton, 15 – FinalOliver Ames picked up a big win on the road to remain unbeaten in dual meets. CJ Deveau (152), Joe Savino (160), and Billy Tat (170) had standout wins for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 44 @ Attleboro, 87 – FinalAttleboro’s Liz Saltz qualified for states in the 50 free with a time of 26.09 and qualified for sectionals in the 500 free with a time of 5:41.43. The Bombardiers’ 200 free relay (Jackie Lynch-Bartek, Tiffany Chin, Corinne Perry and Liz Saltz) also qualified for sectionals with a time of 1:51.79.

Boys Swimming
Foxboro, 64 @ Attleboro, 87 – FinalAttleboro’s Connor Dunn qualified for sectionals in the 50 free, clocking in at a time of 23.68. Foxboro’s Dan Egan (100 free, 57.84), Thomas Perry (500 free, 6:52.47) and Johnmichael Boucher (100 breaststroke, 1:22.69) each had individual wins for the Warriors.

King Philip, 99 @ Sharon, 54 – FinalKing Philip took first, second and third in the 500 free and picked up first-place finishes in seven of the eight individual races to earn a win at Sharon. Colby Vieira took first in the 100 back and 100 free, Dean Whyte was first in the 20 free, Derek Whyte touched first in the 100 fly, Jackson Klien won the 50 free, and Tate Duffy took first in the 100 breaststroke. In the 500 free, John Dionis (5:51.30) was first, Cameron Stringfellow (6:05.87) was second and Andrew Pham (6:20.18) was third.

Girls Swimming
Foxboro, 78 @ Attleboro, 84 – FinalAttleboro’s Jackie Lynch-Bartek swam a sectional-qualifying time in the 200 free and Liz Saltz qualified for states with her performance in the 200 IM, helping the Bombardiers beat Foxboro. Lynch-Bartek clocked in at 2:09.87 to qualify for sectionals while Saltz finished in 2:23.44 in the 200 IM to earn a spot at states. Foxboro’s Pam Nelson and Lindsey Nelson each won a pair of events. Pam Nelson took first in the 500 free (5:42.53), Lindsey Nelson won the 100 breaststroke (1:20.21) and both were apart of the 400 free relay (along with Gina Oullette and Faith Perry) that clocked in first at 4:25.60.

King Philip, 100 @ Sharon, 76 – FinalKing Philip took first in all three relay events and six of the individual events to take down Sharon. Callie Sullivan, Fahra Whichard, Sam Nasson, and Sammy Dewitt won the 200 medley relay in 2:03.72, the team of Megan Campbell, Jess Sullivan, Morgan Sachleben and Whichard won the 200 free in 1:52.47, and Dewitt, Sachleben, Jamie Buckley, and Sullivan won the 400 free in 4:08.70. Sharon’s Ilka Zaniewski won the 50 free (27.01) and Kaveti Shrulhi won the 100 fly (1:09.42).
