Haba singled up the middle to reach base and was on third with two outs before sprinting home. It was a pitcher’s duel between starters Brennan Rivera (8IP, 4H, 4K 0BB) and Taunton’s Jack Moynihan (8IP, 3H, 10K, 1BB). Will Pacheco earned the win in relief for Franklin, tossing two innings with three hits, two walks, and one strikeout. Liam Dailey inherited the tying run in the bottom of the 11th but earned three straight outs for the save. Danny MacDougall and Andrew Gomes had two hits apiece for Taunton.

Brianna Ferrandiz and Sydney Menz both had a pair or singles while Jordan Lyons and Sarah McGrath each had a base hit for Stoughton. Baker earned her sixth win of the season in the circle, scattering six hits while striking out seven in front of a strong Stoughton defense.

In singles action, sophomore Nick Putney, junior Jack Cannon, and senior Zak Ryan each won 6-0, 6-0 at first, second, and third singles, respectively.

Canton, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalDanujan Thirumavalavan, Alberto Olivei, and Rueman Bhattacharyya all earned wins in singles action for the Eagles, who knocked off visiting Canton. The team of Max Brody and Max Chen won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles for Sharon as well. Cnaton’s Tyler Duffy and Justin Luk rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win at second doubles.

Foxboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalStoughton won at first and second singles but Foxboro took third and swept doubles play to earn the victory over the Black Knights. Bo Canfield won 6-4, 6-0 at third singled, the team of Brian Gardner and Sean McAvoy won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles, and Noah Hicks and Justin Neale prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles. Stoughton sophomore Waseem Sablon won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles and senior Erik Anderson took a 6-4, 6-4 decision at second singles.

Attleboro, 58 @ Oliver Ames, 78 – FinalOliver Ames’ Aaron MacDonald was a quadruple winner and the Tigers swept the relays to earn a victory over Attleboro. MacDonald won the 400M (52.8), the 200M (23.0), the long jump (19’10”), and the triple jump (40’11”) for the Tigers. Chucky Akanegbu, Jared Boone, Collin Williamson, and Ashton Hart teamed up for a win in the 4×100 relay (47.5) while Sean Flaherty, Nate Reservitz, Alex Ramirez, and Zane Reservitz (3:46.1) won the 4×400. Flaherty also won the 400M hurdles (59.8) and Zane Reservitz earned a victory in the 1 Mile (4:48.7). Other winners for OA included Kyle Sarney (2 Mile, 10:11.6), Quinn Proudler (shot put, 41’6″) and Ryan Tamasanis (high jump, 5’8″).

Stoughton, 94 @ Canton, 42 – FinalTommy Pulcini and Cam Sanchez took first and second, respectively, in the discus with both posting big PRs for the Bulldogs. Sanchez also had a third place finish in the 100M while Deyontai Dennis had a four second PR to qualify for divisionals in the 400M hurdles, while adding a third place finish in the high jump. Junior Sainvil won the 100M dash while taking third in the long jump and the 200M for Canton.

Foxboro, 28 @ Milford, 99 – FinalMilford’s Tyler Giroux won a pair of events as the Scarlet Hawks raced past visiting Foxboro. Giroux took first in the 400M hurdles (1:05.5) and the discus (106′ 7″). Other winners for Milford included Anton Luckett (high jump, 5’4), Pedro Moura (100M, 11.1), Joey Madden (1 Mile, 4:37), Rafaell Feliciano (400M, 53.2), Max Manor (800M, 2:05.7), Hugo Lopes (200M, 22.9), Nick Yohn (shot put, 38’4), and Max Martin (long jump, 19’4).

Franklin, 50 @ Mansfield, 86 – FinalMansfield’s Andrew Williams won three events, anchoring a sweep in the high jump, to help the Hornets get a win over Franklin. Williams took first in the high jump (6’2) with Ethan Thevenot (5’10) and Drew Rooney (5’6) taking second and third. Williams also won the long jump (16’2) and the 110M hurdles (16.6). Greg Waters was a double winner for Mansfield, taking the 100M dash in 11.1 and the 200M in 23.2 with Anthony Comer taking second in both events. Other winners for Mansfield included Danny Knight (400M, 51.9), Jason Windvogel (800M, 2:00.4) and Danny Rapoza (javelin, 144′ 2.5″).

Stoughton, 62 @ Canton, 54 – FinalCanton’s Maddie Rousseau went unbeaten for the second straight dual meet, earning wins in the 100M, 200M, long jump, and triple jump to pace the Bulldogs. Rousseau qualified for the 200M with her win. Sarah Collins also notched two wins, taking first in the 400M hurdles and 400M. Chloe Pennacchio added first place finishes in the 1 Mile and 2 Mile and Annie Hoban used a strong final kick to take first in the 800M. Bronwyn Mahoney took first in the discus and grabbed second in the shot put while freshman Talya Mendez-DeGraw placed third in the 100M and qualified for divisionals with a leap of 4’10” in the high jump.

Foxboro, 57 @ Milford, 70 – Final

Franklin, 54 @ Mansfield, 82 – Final Mansfield senior Amanda Mangano shined, winning four events to help the Hornets beat visiting Franklin. Mangano won 100M dash, 200M dash, long jump, and the high jump for the Hornets. Freshmen Anna Darlington (400M) and Megan Johnston, (2 Mile) each won an event while classmate Anna Buckley broke the school record for freshman in the triple jump and the high jump. Senior Julia Hill won the triple jump while taking second in the 400M hurdles and the long jump.

Milford, 3 @ Bellingham, 0 – FinalMilford cruised to a 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-19, 25-4) win over Bellingham, who is in their first year at the varsity level. Charlie Vo had a team high seven kills for the Hawks while Nathan LeBlanc paced the defense with 20 digs.

Stoughton, 5 @ Attleboro, 6 – FinalStoughton jumped ahead 5-0 after an inning but the Bombardiers chipped away, tying the game and then walking off with the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh inning. Junior Alvaro Espinal knocked in Max Amaral with a two-out RBI single in the seventh for the winning run. Nick McMahon (3.2 innings) and Anthony Deyesso (3 innings, win) were stellar in relief for Attleboro.

Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 6 – FinalTaunton senior Jack Moynihan earned the win on the mound and had a strong day at the plate to lead the Tigers to a win over visiting Foxboro. Moynihan tossed six scoreless inning, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out six to earn the win. Offensively, Moynihan went 2-for-3 with two RBI while Logan Lawrence had three hits, including a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored for Taunton. Freshman Tom Marcucella had two hits for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames scored two runs in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and added another run for insurance to secure a 4-1 win over visiting North Attleboro. Jake Erlich (two doubles), Jared Spillane (two runs), and Sean O’Brien (who had a great defensive game) each had two hits for the Tigers. Reid Latham earned the win for OA, allowing just four hits and striking out four in 6.1 innings of work. Nick Boudreau picked up the save for OA.

Attleboro, 7 @ Stoughton, 8 – FinalStoughton outlasted Attleboro in a tight game to earn its second win of the season. Karly Estremera had an impressive day at the plate, hitting three triples, scoring three runs and recording one RBI while Bri Ferrandiz added three hits and two RBI. Jordan Lyons, Nicole Baker, Nikki Coppola (two singles), Sarah McGrath, and Sydney Menz all contributed hits for the Black Knights.

Attleboro, 50 @ Mansfield, 86 – FinalMansfield’s Andrew Williams won a pair of events and took second in another, setting new personal bests in all three, to pace the Hornets to a win over Attleboro. Williams on the high jump (6’4) and the long jump (20’3″) while taking second in the 110M hurdles (16.7). Sophomore Anthony Comer was also a double winner, taking first in the 100M dash (11.0) and 200M dash (22.8.). Dan Knight (PR of 52.1), Tyler King, and Jack Rivard swept the 400M while Jason Windvogel (2:02) and Peter Oldow (2:06) went 1-2 in the 800. Patrick Heavey (4:40) and Pete Sullivan (4:41) finished first and second, respectively, in the 1 Mile.

Canton, 81 @ Foxboro, 54 – FinalCanton’s Deyontai Dennis won three individual events and was a member of a winning relay team, pacing the Bulldogs to a win over Foxboro. Dennis took first in the high jump, the long jump, the 400M hurdles, and anchored the Bulldogs’ 4×400 relay team. Tommy Pulcini was first in the shot put and second in the discus while Junior Sainvil took first in the triple jump and the 100M dash, and second in the long jump and 200M.

Attleboro, 42 @ Mansfield, 94 – Final – Mansfield’s Amanda Mangano took first in three individual events and was a member of the winning 4×100 relay team in the Hornets’ big win over Attleboro. Mangano won the 100M (12.6), the long jump (16-3), and the high jump (5-0) while teaming up with Alexis Kiyanda, Emily Quitzau, and Zoe Plante to win the 4×100 (52.3). Julia Hill was a double winner, crossing first in the 400M hurdles (71.6) and the triple jump (34-2). Freshman Katie Miller won the 800M (2:30.8) and freshmen Maria Sevastos (64.3) and Anna Darlingto (64.6)n took first and second, respectively, in the 400.

Canton, 51 @ Foxboro, 85 – FinalFor Canton, Maddie Rousseau won the 200, the long jump, and the triple jump while taking second in the 100. Sarah Collins was also a double winner for the Bulldogs, grabbing the top spot in the 400M hurdles and the 400M. Chloe Pennacchio was second in the 1 Mile, 2 Mile, and the shot put.

Madison Haughey had a PR in the 100M hurdles with a winning time of 15.7. Haughey also placed second in the high jump and third in triple jump. Julia Hill won the triple jump (34’10), had a PR in the 400M hurdles (68.6) for second place, and took second in the long jump (15’11). Harrison won the 100M and was a member of the winning 4×100 team while also taking second in the long jump. Haughey won the 100M hurdles, took second in the triple jump, and placed third in the high jump. Freshman Tessa Lancaster ran a 13-second PR in the mile to take first (5:38.5), junior Amanda Mangano was a two-time winner (200M, long jump), and junior Julia Hill had a 1’3″ PR in the triple jump to take first. Joining Harrison on the winning 4×100 relay team was Gabrielle Devlin, Emily Quitzau, and Samantha Hindman.

Nick Sinacola started things with a walk, Jeff Gale reached on an infield single and Zach DeMattio walked to load the bases. Both Sinacola and Gale scored on an error and then Brendan McHugh knocked in Nate Pearce (2-for-3). Both Pearce and McHugh came around to score on a single from Nick Raneri (3-for-4), who crossed home for the sixth run on an error. Attleboro plated its two runs on three hits in the bottom of the third. Sinacola earned the win on the mound, striking out seven with three walks and three hits allowed. Attleboro sophomore Ryan Morry was strong in relief, allowing just two hits in 4.2 innings of work with no runs allowed.

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalJake Noviello allowed just one run in six innings of work, struck out six, walked four, and scattered four hits to lead the Panthers to a win on the road. Bryan Woelfel earned the win, pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Cooper Ross paced the offense, going 2-for-2 and scoring a pair of runs while Jack Nally had two RBI and Scott Elliott chipped in with a double and a run scored.

Sharon, 1 @ Mansfield, 9 – FinalHockomock League leading hitter Dan Saraceno continued his stellar start to the season, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored to help the Hornets pick up a big win on the road. After Sharon took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, Mansfield plated four runs in the third, two more in the fourth and three in the fifth inning. Seniors Tyler Dalton (1-for-2, run) and Cullin Anastasia, juniors Mike Hargadon (2-for-2, two runs) and Sam Nugent (two runs), and sophomore Chris Jenkins (1-for-3, run) each knocked in a run for Mansfield. Sharon’s Drew Naisuler went 3-for-3 and scored on an RBI single from Max Tarlin. Mansfield sophomore John Carney earned the win in his first career start, striking out six with just one walk in five innings of work. He allowed just four hits and one unearned run.

Milford took the lead in the top of the first but OA’s bats came to life in the bottom half. Chris Pearsons went 4-for-4 with two RBI, Matt Muir was 4-for-4 with an RBI, and Nick Bloumbas went 3-for-4 with an RBI for OA. Michael Mulrean earned the win, allowing one walk and one hit in five innings of work, striking out six.

Reichert took the perfect game into the fifth but a leadoff single from Katie Mills broke it up. Emily Hartman added three hits, including a double, and an RBI, Emily Piergustavo had two RBI, including a solo home run, Maddy Bonvino went 2-for-2 with a double, Shannon Cormier added two hits and two RBI and Kate Irwin (three stolen bases) also had an RBI.

Canton, 5 @ North Attleboro, 7 – FinalCanton dominated the first half and held a 2-0 lead but North was able to tie it up in the second half and scored two late goals to earn the win. “Our defense played well and our young middies stepped up and got it done,” said North Attleboro head coach Kevin Young. “Hats off to Canton, I thought they outplayed us. Fortunately. our guys held it together and earned a scrappy win.” Dan Conroy scrapped his way to a ground ball and tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth. After Canton retook the lead, Damien Curtis tied it 5-5. Nick Ward scored the game-winner for the Rocketeers with 3:30 left and Tommy Lindstrom sealed the deal with an empty net with 1:30 to go.

Chloe Pennacchio was first in the 2 Mile (13:09.7), Bronwyn Mahoney was second in the shot put (30’2), Maddie Rousseau took second in the 200M (27.4) followed by Leah Murphy (27.9). Freshman Olivia Rodman was third in the 400M hurdles (70.4) and the triple jump (31’3) for the Bulldogs.

Franklin, 78 @ Mansfield, 58 – FinalFor Mansfield, Amanda Mangano had a terrific day with three wins and a second place in another event. Mangano won the 100M (12.4), the 200M (25.3), and the high jump (5′) while taking second in the long jump (16’6). Junior Julia Hill had a 7-inch PR in the long jump to win with a jump of 16’7 and running a three second PR in the 400 hurdles for a second place in a time of 69.4. The Hornets’ 4×100 team of Gabrielle Devlin, Emily Quitzau, Samantha Hindman, Julia Harrison had a season-best time of 50.4 while sophomore Lily Goulding took first in the javelin (95’4″).

Taunton, 7 vs. New Bedford, 0 – FinalTaunton senior Christian Simoes bases-clearing double highlighted a four-run third inning for the Tigers in a win over New Bedford. Simoes knocked in three runs with his hit while Sean Quinlan brought a run in with a sacrifice fly. Griffin Tomaszycki got the win on the mound for the Tigers, allowing just one hit over 5.2 innings of work with eight strikeouts.

Franklin, 9 @ Newton North, 7 – FinalThe Davis brothers got the job on both ends for the Panthers in a big win over Newton North. Sophomore Jake Davis paced the offense by scoring a hat trick and adding one assist while older brother Will Davis made 16 saves in an outstanding effort in net. With starting goalie Connor O’Rourke out for his second straight game, Will Davis got the start and came up big for Franklin. Eric Civetti added two goals and one assist, Kyle McEniry added two goals, and Jacob Alexander, who won 16 of 18 faceoffs, scored once.

Canton, 8 vs. Newton North, 13 – FinalMaggie Connolly, Caroline Tourgee, and Alexa Maffeo each scored a pair of goals in the loss and, despite the defeat, head coach Laurie Chabot said, “Canton did a great job at keeping the pressure throughout the midfield.”

Foxboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalManfield won one match in singles play and swept both doubles matches in straight sets to defeat Foxboro. Junior Luke Nickerson didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, the team of senior Jalaj Singh and junior Sethu Odayappan won 6-2, 6-2 at first doubles, and junior Luke Devine and sophomore Nilay Pangrekar picked up a 6-1, 6-3 decision at second doubles. Foxboro’s Jason Kandula won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles and senior Breno Silva won 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) at third singles.

Sharon, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalJunior Max Brody and senior Ashwin Sreevatsa battled back after dropping the first set to win the second and then took the tiebreaker to complete Sharon’s sweep on the road. Taunton’s Charlie Fiske and Dylan Kullas won 6-4 to open but Brody and Sreevatsa took the second set 6-2 and won the tiebreaker 11-9. Senior Fred Bondar won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, senior Andre Olivei won 6-0, 6-3 at second singles and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. Sharon sophomore Jake Ross and senior Arie Chinnappan won 6-4, 6-1 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalFoxboro’s Sophia Prinos didn’t lose a game as the Warriors won all five matches in straight sets. Kayla Prag earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles and Pam Nelson won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. The team is Julia Muise and Sarah Prag notched a 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles while Olivia Dantona and Kendall Milender prevailed with a 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles.

Taunton, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon won all five matches in straight sets to hand Taunton its first loss of the season. Nupur Shukla didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Lulu Yuan did the same at second singles, and Lauren Glass picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. Katie Merport and Emily Wen picked up a 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles while Rithika Fein and Sophia Fein won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 110 @ Taunton, 26 – FinalMansfield’s Jareme DiLorenzo won three events to help the Hornets start the dual meet schedule off with a win. DiLorenzo was first in the 110 hurdles (16.3), the triple jump (42’6) and the long jump (20’1) to pace Mansfield. Mike Shannon (400 hurdles, 61.1; 200M, 23.7) and Kalin Petrov (1 mile, 4:48.1; 2 Mile, 10:05.7) each had two wins for Mansfield. Taunton’s Jadin Bruneau ran a thrilling final leg of the 4×100 to help the Tigers edge Mansfield by 0.2 (45.1 to 45.3).

Mansfield, 68 @ Taunton, 68 – FinalMansfield’s Julia Hill made a splash in her debut running the 400 hurdles, taking first place while also winning the triple jump to help the Hornets earn a tie on the road. Hill took first in the 400H in 1:12.1 and jumped 33’1 in the triple jump to earn the win. Bryn Anderson set a new PR in the 800, taking over first in the final 100 meters to take the win at 2:28.1. Sophomore Lily Goulding took first in the javelin (96’9) and freshman Tessa Lancaster was first in the 2 Mile for the Hornets (12:29).

Boys Volleyball
Milford, 3 vs. Xaverian, 0 – FinalZach Browne and Joao Boaventura each recoeded six kills as Milford swept Xaverian (25-13, 25-17, 25-22). Browne added seven blocks while Lucas Caetano recorded 14 assitss.
