Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final

Franklin, 12 vs. Framingham, 4 – Final – Senior Nick Santucci made a splash in his first game of the season, knocking in five runs behind a three hit day. Santucci had a double, triple and a home run for the Panthers. Jake Lyons was 2-2 (and two walks) with three runs scored, Josh Macchi had three hits with an RBI and a run scored and Alex Bissanti had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI with a run scored. Sophomore Jake Noviello got the win on the mound, tossing six innings with eight strikeouts and just two works, allowing two earned runs.

Mansfield, 0 @ Braintree, 7 – Final – The Hornets were limited to three hits in the game with Tyrone Pascual having a double and Max Boen and Kevin Dow each recording a single.

Sharon, 1 vs. North Quincy, 2 – Final (11 inn.)

Stoughton, 3 @ Taunton, 6 – Final – Luke Figueira struck out 10 in six-plus innings of work to lead the Tigers to their second win in as many days. Figueira allowed three runs, all coming in the seventh, and just four runs. At the plate, the senior had a pair of hits and a run scored. Sophomore Joe Manchester had two hits, two RBI and a run scored and senior Brendon Mazerolle and sophomore Christian Simoes each added two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Mazerolle picked up his first save of the year, inheriting a bases loaded situation – the tying run at the plate – with no outs and was able to get out of the jam.

Softball
North Attleboro, 16 @ Canton, 2 – Final – North Attleboro’s Amelia Murphy tossed a two-hitter to earn the win and helped her own cause at the plate with a home run and a triple. Kaylea Sherman added a home run and a single, Jordan Sharpe went 4-5 with five RBI and Gina Miceli and Rylee Guthrie each added a pair of hits for the Rocketeers.

Franklin, 0 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 2 – Final

Milford, 11 vs. Hopedale, 3 – Final – Ali Atherton didn’t allow a run in six innings of work, scattering three hits and striking out eight to hand Hopedale its first loss of the season. Jess Tomaso was 1-2 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of walks and Meg Jacques went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Maddy Bonvino went 1/2 with a double, an RBI and a walk and Emily Piergustavo was 1-3 with a sacrifice fly and two RBI.

Oliver Ames, 1 vs. Weymouth, 7 – Final – Freshman Kayla Georgeu pitched seven innings for the Tigers with eight strikeouts, allowing just one earned run. Offensively, Jamie Gottwald was 1-3 with a double and a run scored, Lexie Campbell was 1-3 with an RBI and Missy Krim was 1-2.

Taunton, 12 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – Taunton’s Katie Van Zandt had a pair of hits and knocked in three runs to pace Taunton’s offense. Jordan Wade went 3-3 with a pair of triple, two runs scored and an RBI and Aimee Kistner added a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. Kistner struck out six in four innings of work while Courtney Fisher struck out a pair in one inning of work. For Stoughton, Brianna Ferrandiz had a pair of hits and Sam Tullis and Gina Carafa each had one.

Boys Lacrosse
Milford, 3 vs. Ashland, 15 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 5 vs. Medfield, 9 – Final

Franklin, 11 @ Andover, 10 – Final – Andover scored to get within one late and won the ensuing draw but Grace McDermott forced a turnover and the Panthers were able to run out the remaining 90 seconds to get the win. Kenzie Pleshaw led the way offensively with six goals, Julia Jette had two goals and two assists and Dani Lonati made seven saves in net.

King Philip, 9 vs. Walpole, 18 – Final

Mansfield vs. Bishop Feehan, 11:00AM

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 5 vs. Walpole, 0 – Final

Milford @ Mansfield, 11:00AM

Stoughton, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton won both matches at doubles and one singles match to edge Stoughton. Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles, Caleb Seafort and Kyle Dennehy won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles and Tom Morrissey won 6-2, 6-3 at second singles. Stoughton’s Adam Potter won 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) at first singles and Micah Pellegrini won 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-4) at third singles for the Black Knights.

Girls Tennis

#4 Mansfield, 60 vs. #1 Catholic Memorial, 78 – Final – Nick Baskin led Mansfield with 15 points, Max Boen added 13 points and four rebounds, Christian Weber had nine points and Tyler Boulter chipped in with nine points.
Girls Basketball
D2 South Semifinal
#2 Oliver Ames, 56 vs. #3 Falmouth, 40 – Final – Francesca Calabraro scored a team-high 16 points, including 10 in the third quarter, to lead the Tigers to the Div. 2 South final. Kayla Raymond added 12 points and nine boards. Sam Bamford had eight points for OA and Kaitlyn McCarthy and Hannah Carroll each had seven. OA will face Hingham in the Div. 2 South final on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Durfee High.
Hockey
D1 South Semifinal
#4 Franklin, 3 vs. #8 Newton North, 0 – Final – Junior Joey Blasie scored a pair of goals and sophomore Luke Downie had an assist and an empty net goal to lead the Panthers. Franklin will play the winner of Marshfield and Natick on Sunday in the Div. 1 South final at Gallo Arena at 6:30 p.m.

Attleboro, 75 vs. Durfee, 67 – Final – Junior Jake Dunkley scored a game-high 19 points and pulled in nine rebounds, junior Andrew Milliken added 16 points, sophomore Nate Douglas chipped in with 12 points, senior Brent Cook had 10 points and six rebounds, junior Berlyns Abraham scored 10 points and finished with seven rebounds and senior Kyle Murphy had five points and 12 rebounds.
Franklin, 70 @ South High, 41 – Final

Mansfield, 58 vs. BC High, 44 – Final – Mansfield raced out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Matt Ehrlich had a team-high 16 points, Max Boen scored 13 points and Sam Goldberg had nine points and nine rebounds. 
Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 55 @ Durfee, 38 – Final – Sarah Deyo led all scorers with 16 points for the Bombardiers, while Emily Houle added 13 and with a first quarter layup became the fifth Attleboro girls’ basketball player (and first since 1999) to reach the 1,000-point plateau. The Bombardiers closed with a 22-7 run after Durfee cut the lead to just two at 33-31 in the third quarter.

Foxboro, 53 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 41 – Final Ashley Sampson led the way with 12 points while Kristen Bortolotti added 11 points for the Warriors.

Today’s games are listed below.
Boys Basketball
Mansfield, 64 @ Attleboro, 52 – Final – Mansfield clinched a share of the Kelley-Rex title with the win. The Hornets have won four straight Kelley-Rex titles and sixth in the last seven years. Sam Goldberg had 12 points and seven rebounds, Christian Weber added 11 points and six assists and Max Boen had nine points and five assists. Mansfield head coach Mike Vaughan won his 200th career game. 

Canton, 48 @ Milford, 71 – Final – The Scarlet Hawks won their fifth game in the last six to clinch a playoff berth. Dimitry Torres led Milford with 23 points while Dwight Anderson added 16 points, Jack DeSantis chipped in with a career-high 10 points and Josh Andonian finished seven points. Canton freshman Devin Foster had a career-high 16 points and sophomore Tony Harris added 15 points.

Sharon, 73 @ Foxboro, 84 – Final (OT) – Jason Procaccini scored a game-high 24 points as the Warriors held on after a rally from the Eagles. Rob Lowey added 14 points while Alex DuBrow, Jonathan Carnino and Mark Clagg all chipped in with 10 points apiece. 

Franklin, 77 @ North Attleboro, 39 – Final – Freshman Jay Dieterle dropped in a team-high 19 points as the Panthers claimed their first league title since 2012. With the win, Franklin won a share of the Kelley-Rex title with Mansfield. Sophomore Connor Peterson had 12 points and senior Tim Prunier added 10 points.

Oliver Ames, 74 @ Stoughton, 55 – Final – Junior Carter Evin scored a career-high 28 points and pulled in 10 rebounds. Dylan Mahoney added 15 points, Nick Welch had 11 points and Tim Kelley added 10 points for OA. Jared Costa-Haywood led the Black Knights with 17 points, Cam Gomes had 12 points and sophomore Cam Andrews chipped in with 10 points. Senior captain Nick Quattrucci hauled in seven rebounds.

King Philip, 56 vs. Dartmouth, 60 – Final – King Philip rallied from a 13 point halftime deficit but the Indians were able to hold on. Seth Sullivan had a team-high 18 points while sophomore Justin Vine added 15 points.

Taunton, 59 @ New Bedford, 69 – Final
Girls Basketball
Milford, 62 @ Canton, 47 – Final

Foxboro, 57 @ Sharon, 49 – Final – Foxboro had four players reach double figures for scoring. Lily Sykes led the Warriors with 16 points while Ashley Sampson added 13 points, Grace Tamulionis had 12 points and Carolynn Will finished with 10 points. Sharon was led by Alyssa Piazza with 20 points and four steals, while Charlotte Ransom had seven points, all in the fourth quarter. Shira Stoller had seven assists and Emma Eberhardt had 11 points for the Eagles.

North Attleboro, 45 @ Franklin, 54 – Final
Attleboro, 43 @ Mansfield, 56 – Final – The Hornets clinched the Kelley-Rex division title with the win. It is the second in the program’s history. Jen Peel led the way with 18 points and five assists. Meg Hill added 11 points and 15 rebounds and Juliana Newell scored 12 for Mansfield. Attleboro was led by Sarah Deyo, who finished with 15 points. Sam Pierce added 10 for the Bombardiers.

Stoughton, 32 @ Oliver Ames, 63 – Final – Sophomore Kayla Raymond led the Tigers with a game-high 16 points while Kaitlyn McCarthy added 13 points and Niyera Mitchell had 12 points. 
Taunton, 48 vs. New Bedford, 17 – Final – Senior Kia Pate led Taunton with 11 points, sophomore Hannah Moniz added nine points, senior Alyssa Gibson finished with eight points and senior Jordan Wade chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.

Thursday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 02/18/16

Today’s games are listed below.
Boys Basketball
Mansfield, 75 vs. Cohasset, 52 – Final – Junior Matt Ehrlich connected on six three pointers en route to a career-high 30 points. The Hornets tied a program record with 15 three point field goals. Sophomore Tyler Boulter added 15 points and Max Boen had 11 points. 
Girls Basketball
Oliver Ames, 69 vs. Brockton, 42 – Final – Kaitlyn McCarthy led all scorers with 21 points and was named MVP of the Norwell Invitational tournament. Junior Niyera Mitchell had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Francesca Calabraro scored 12 points and was named to the all-tournament team.
Mansfield, 50 vs. Dartmouth, 32 – Final – Mansfield held a 20 point lead at halftime and cruised to win the Roundball Classic. Julianna Newell was named the tournament’s MVP while Caroline Maher – who broke the program record with her 134 career three pointers – was named a tournament all star.
Milford, 52 @ Taconic, 33 – Final – Kate Irwin led the Scarlet Hawks with 13 points and Nicole Dahlgren added 12 points in the win. 
Stoughton, 54 vs. Whitman-Hanson, 56 – Final
Hockey
Taunton, 4 @ Attleboro, 6 – FinalTaunton scored three goals in the second period to take the lead in the game that was restarted with Attleboro ahead 2-1. The Bombardiers scored four times in the third to pull out the win. P.J. Elliott and Sam Larkin each scored two goals and had two assists for Attleboro, which also got goals from Jake Parker and Mitchell Caruso. Taunton goals were scored by Kyle Smith, Nick Terry, Tyler Pietrzyk, and Dylan Nichols.
Canton, 2 vs. Medfield, 3 – Final (SO) The game counts as a tie for MIAA purposes. Jim Jenkins opened the scoring in the first period and Jackson Maffeo made it 2-0 in the second, both assisted by Shaun Kirby. Medfield scored two goals in the second to tie it and the game stayed tied through the third period and two overtimes. The Warriors won 2-1 in the shootout to claim the Joe Quinn Tournament title. Justin Slocum made 30 saves in the loss. 
Franklin, 2 vs. Marshfield, 3 – Final (OT) – The game counts as a tie for MIAA purposes.
Girls Hockey
Franklin, 4 vs. Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake, 2 – Final – Franklin scored four goals in the third period to rally for a win.
