#14 Canton, 3 vs. #11 Winchester, 2 – FinalCanton erased a one-goal deficit on two different occasions and then found the winner in the final seconds. After Winchester went up just over two minutes into the game, Canton sophomore Lauren Fitzpatrick tied the game less than two minutes into the second period. Winchester took a 2-1 lead but senior Rebecca Eckler tied the game with just over five minutes left in the middle frame. Canton took a timeout with 15.4 seconds left in the game with a face off in the offensive zone. The Bulldogs won, got a shot on goal and Eckler pushed the rebound in as she fell to the ice with 10.8 seconds to play. Canton advances to the D2 State Semifinal to take on #7 Westwood on Wednesday at 7:15 at Gallo.

#1 Mansfield, 77 vs. #16 Brockton, 57 – Final – Mansfield senior Sam Goldberg scored 10 of his 15 points in the first half, helping the Hornets build a nine-point lead they wouldn’t relinquish in the second frame. Mansfield’s offense had its best quarter of the night to start the second half, pouring in 23 points to create an 18-point cushion entering the final eight minutes. Goldberg added 11 rebounds to go with his 15 points while classmate Christian Weber netted a team-high 16 points. Junior Tyler Boulter added 13 points while Max Boen finished with nine points. Mansfield will host #8 Quincy on Friday at 6:30.

#7 North Attleboro, 64 vs. #10 Braintree, 67 – Final – North Attleboro clawed its way back into the game on multiple occasions down the stretch but couldn’t overcome the Wamps’ fourth quarter lead. Brent Doherty (26 points) hit six three pointers, including one to cut a seven-point lead to four and one to make it a two point game in the final seconds. Jonny Friberg scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half while sophomore Josh Montague had a career-high nine points for the Rocketeers. Braintree’s Nick Timberlake scored 30 points to lead the Wamps.

#12 Taunton, 58 @ #5 Catholic Memorial, 78 – Final

#10 Foxboro, 54 @ #7 Nauset, 51 – Final (OT)Foxboro saved the best for last, exploding for 21 points in the fourth quarter after having scored just 30 through the first 24 minutes of play. While erasing a seven-point deficit, Mark Clagg (team-high 14 points), Joe Morrison and Matt Rongione each hit a three in the fourth quarter. Jamaine Few scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter and overtime while Anthony Barreira chipped in with a career-high 10 points. The Warriors kept Nauset scoreless in the overtime period while Few had a layup and freshman Brandon Borde had a free throw to win the OT period, 3-0. Foxboro will travel to #2 Westwood on Friday at 6:30.

#11 Oliver Ames, 89 @ #6 Milton, 74 – FinalOliver Ames flexed its offensive muscles, scoring a season-high 89 points to earn the upset on the road. The Tigers scored 20 points in the opening quarter and held a 42-33 lead by halftime. Milton cut into the deficit, trailing just 62-56 after three quarters but the Tigers dropped 27 points in the fourth quarter. Jack Spillane led the way with 26 points while senior Nick Welch had 24 points. Dylan Mahoney added 15 points while both Carter Evin and Matt Muir chipped in with 10 points. Oliver Ames will travel to #3 Whitman-Hanson on Friday at 6:30.

#14 Canton, 4 vs. #19 Norwell, 1 – FinalSophomore Lauren Fitzpatrick netted a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a win in their first tournament game. Fellow sophomore Maggie Malloy also found the back of the net in the win. Canton advances to play #3 Shrewsbury on Saturday the the Northstar Ice Arena at 1:50.

Cullin Anastasia had two goals and two assists to lead the Hornets while Patrick McCafferty and Matt Farragher each netted a pair of goals. Tim Arnold, Adam Anastos, James Bezeau and Dylan Tivnan each registered two points as well.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 5 – FinalTaunton battled to take a 3-2 lead through two periods and then finished off the Panthers in the third period. The Tigers scored an early third period goal to go up 4-2 before Franklin cut the deficit to one with 2:11 to play. However, Taunton scored an empty netter from its defensive zone with 34 seconds to go to ice the game. Zack Albert had four points, registering three assists and scored the game-winning goal. Nick Terry scored twice and had one assist while Jordan Hoey and Mike Volkmann each scored once. Justin Chappell made 24 saves to earn the win.

Qualeem Charles had 10 points and seven rebounds and Bryant Ciccio had 12 points and five rebounds. Senior Jake Dunkley led the Bombardiers with 19 points and six rebounds.

Franklin, 64 vs. Malden Catholic, 70 – Final

Milford, 69 vs. Tantasqua, 46 – FinalAnthony Arcudi dropped a career-high 22 points to pace the Scarlet Hawks to a win. Zack Tamagni added 13 points while Shane Cosquete finished with nine points. Junior Kayden Kelley scored 10 points and hauled in a career-high 21 rebounds. Milford will face Waltham in the final of the Scarlet Hawks Classic on Thursday at 7 p.m.

King Philip, 59 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 58 – FinalKing Philip overcame a seven point deficit in the first half to take a five point lead by half. The Trojans came back to seize a three point advantage after three quarters. KP was able to build a four point lead late and hold on. Sophomore Kyle Layman had 18 points, eight rebounds and five blocks to lead the Warriors while Justin Vine added 17 points and Will Weir had 12 points.

North Attleboro, 57 vs. Reading, 42 – FinalThe Rocketeers jumped out to an 18-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Up 33-21, Big Red used another dominate quarter, outscoring the Rockets 17-4 in the third. Junior Chad Peterson led the way with a career-high 15 points while Jonny Friberg added 14 points and Kyle McCarthy finished with 13 points.

Oliver Ames, 58 vs. East Boston, 36 – FinalOliver Ames deployed a zone defense and then pounced with a press in the second quarter to pull away from East Boston. The Tigers outscored East Boston 21-4 in the second quarter and 13-5 in the third quarter. “We used the press and we played zone,” OA head coach Don Byron said. “We got pretty active – tops on that list was probably Welch, he gets his hands on a lot of stuff in the zone. We ran out on that pretty well and we were able to compound things a little bit by jumping into the press once we scored.” Jack Spillane led OA with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Dylan Mahoney had 12 points and five rebounds and Matt Muir finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Sharon, 52 vs. Arlington Catholic, 33 – FinalSenior Ricardo Ripley scored all of his team-high 14 points in the second half to lead Sharon to the win on the road at Wilmington. The Eagles only allowed 13 points in the second half and won the fourth quarter 17-6. Jimmy Fitzhenry also had 14 points in the win while Jayvon Monteiro scored 11 points.

Taunton, 73 vs. Hope (RI), 49 – FinalFreshman Naz Kenian scored a career-high 16 points as Taunton rolled past Hope. Junior Malik Charles chipped in with 14 points for the Tigers.

Girls Basketball
Attleboro, 60 vs. Cranston West 35 – FinalSarah Deyo led the way for the Bombardiers with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Julia Strachan, Sam Pierce, and Jordyn Lako each added 10 points for Attleboro.

Mansfield, 52 vs. Marshfield, 47 – FinalJen Peel had 18 points and five assists to pace the Hornets. Meg Hill added 12 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocks and Ann Maher had 10 points for Mansfield. The Hornets will play Duxbury in the final of the Holiday Tournament on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

Milford, 60 @ Hudson, 31 – FinalKate Irwin was the top scorer for the Hawks with 23 points and Jess Tomaso chipped in with eight points.

Oliver Ames, 48 vs. Needham, 42 – FinalOliver Ames rallied from a halftime deficit to tie the game but the Rockets reestablished a lead (31-26) at the end of the third. The Tigers seized the lead early in the fourth quarter and held on. Kayla Raymond led the Tigers with 18 points while Niyera Mitchell had nine points and a career-high 19 rebounds. The Tigers will host Walpole in the final of the Sure Rivard Tournament.

Wrestling
Lowell Holiday Tournament (Canton, Foxboro, Franklin, Stoughton) – After the first day, Foxboro is in eighth place with 79 points and Franklin is in 11th with 69.5 points. Wrestlers that made the quarterfinals include Foxboro’s Adam Lanctot (106), Canton’s Justin Dickie (113), Franklin’s TJ Remillard and Foxboro’s Phil Dure (126) and Foxboro’s Matt Kelley (132).

Marshfield Tournament (Mansfield, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames, Sharon) – North Attleboro is in third place with 111.5 points with 10 wrestlers moving onto day two. Mansfield is just outside the top 10 with 66.5 points (13th place) with six wrestlers moving on. Wrestlers that advanced to the semifinals include North Attleboro’s Brady Folan and Mansfield’s Antonios Sevastos (106), Sharon’s Yosef Ellis-Rech (126), Oliver Ames’ Liston Funai (132), Mansfield’s George Glaropoulos and North Attleboro’s Nick Gould (152), Mansfield’s Vinnie Holmes (170) and North Attleboro’s Brad White (220).

Milford, 2 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final – Stoughton freshman Fabio Ponce De Leon notched his first career hat trick, scoring once in the first half off an assist from Josh Mitchell and then twice in the second half, the first a header off a corner from Noah Schulze and the final goal another header. Jordan Asnes converted a penalty to give Stoughton a 1-0 lead. Stoughton head coach Aaron Salter credited Milford goalie Mike Da Silva with some outstanding saves.
Girls Soccer
Foxboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalFrancesca Calabraro scored on a pair of headers in the second half, the second assisted by Zoe Chazan, and Kiana Lozzi tacked on a third goal with two minutes to play. Jalisa Allen made 11 saves for the Warriors. Carolyn Will had a free kick tipped over the bar by Regan Benton in the opening minutes of the second half with the game still tied 0-0.
Franklin, 2 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalHalle Atkinson and Jess Kroushl scored the goals for Franklin and both were assisted by Alexis Stowell. Head coach Tom Geysen credited his defense for the victory, extending the team’s clean sheet streak to 11 games to start the season.
Canton, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalHannah Link scored a pair of goals, the first assisted by Shannon Foley and second by Riley Duserick, to lead Canton to the win. Lauren Fitzpatrick, Julia Hamilton, Leianna Brune, and Kendra Farrelly also scored for the Bulldogs.
Volleyball
Mansfield, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Mansfield got the sweep on the road. Juliana Newell had 14 service points, Meg Hill had 13 kills and Jess Haradon added 12 digs for the Hornets.

Stoughton, 179 @ Canton, 159 – Final – Canton senior Steve Gorham and junior Shaun Kirby led the way for the Bulldogs, each shooting 39. Senior Jim Jenkins carded a 40 and seniors Joe Peccia and Griffin Jerrier each shot 41.
Mansfield, 157 @ Oliver Ames, 141 –  Final – Ryan McGarry shot a one under 33 for the Tigers, Brian Lambert shot par at 34 and Steven Tasho carded a 35 as Oliver Ames finished the regular season undefeated. Jason Hindman shot a 38 for the Hornets.Â
