Thursday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/13/17

Today’s games are listed below.

Baseball
Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Junior Tyler Dalton dazzled on the mound, tossing a complete game shutout to lead the Hornets. Dalton allowed just two hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out a season-high 11 batters. Mansfield scored single runs in the second, third and fifth innings, totaling seven hits as a team. Zach Peterson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Max Boen was 1-for-2 with a walk, RBI and a run scored. Attleboro’s Dylan Maskell also had a solid outing on the mound, throwing six innings with six strikeouts.

Sharon, 5 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final (9 inn.) – Sharon’s offense was quiet for the first six innings but scored in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, eventually prevailing with a one-run victory over Foxboro. Trailing 1-0, the Eagles put up three runs in the top of the seventh to go ahead. Foxboro tied the game in the bottom half to send the game to extra innings. Both Sharon and Foxboro scored a run apiece in the eighth before Sharon scored the final run of the game in the top of the ninth. In the seventh, Aiden Arnold’s leadoff single preceded singles from Ben Stamm (3-for-4, RBI, run) and Jason Hertz. Jake Marglous tied it up with an RBI single. Spencer Singer connected on a two-run double to put the Eagles up 3-1. Foxboro got two back but Hertz threw the would-be winning run out at home to send the game to extras. Stamm knocked in Ben Schwartz in the top of the eighth but Foxboro knotted the game in the bottom half. In the top of the ninth, Arnold drew a lead off walk, stole second and scored on base hit from Jake Teven. Arnold earned the win in relief, and closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Sophomore Noah Kamens had a strong start on the mound, throwing six innings without allowing an earned run while striking out two. “All the kids contributed and the way they fought back in the seventh, eighth and finally the ninth shows incredible resiliency from this group,” said Sharon head coach Kee Arguimbau.

Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 5 – Final – Milford scored in five different innings to pick up its second straight win. The Scarlet Hawks scored single runs in the first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth against the Panthers. Aidan Wilde tossed a complete game without giving up an earned run, striking out seven and letting up just two hits. Ryan Goncalves went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases, Alex Coady had a home run and Anthony Arcudi was 1-for-3 with a double, a run and two stolen bases.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – North Attleboro’s offense got off to a strong start for the second straight game, scoring a pair of runs in each of the first and second innings, adding two more in the fourth and one more in the sixth inning. Senior Matt Iaconis didn’t allow an earned run in six innings of work, scattering six hits, walking just one batter and striking out three to earn the win. Junior Peter Cohen pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Rocketeers. Junior Nick Sinacola recorded four hits for Big Red, knocking in a pair of runs, Kyle McCarthy had two hits and two RBI and Iaconis also added a pair of hits. OA’s Chris Pearsons had a strong showing in relief, tossing five innings without surrendering an earned run.

Taunton, 7 vs. Durfee, 6 – Final – Taunton rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a walk-off win over non-league rival Durfee. The Tigers took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning but Durfee scored four in the top of the second and took the lead with two runs in the fourth. Billy Emerson tied the game in the seventh with a pinch hit single and Chris Gomes knocked in the game-winner with a single. In the first inning, Jacob Crawford (3-for-4) and Matt Machado scored on a double from Christian Simoes. Gomes also had a two-run double in the first inning. Senior Danny Keogh earned the win, tossing three scoreless innings in relief.

Softball
Sharon, 2 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final (8 inn.) – Sharon used extra innings to pick up its first win of the season. Senior catcher Sam Marglous (3-for-5) singled in the top of the eighth to drive in the game-winning run. Clara Cook went the distance to pick up the win, striking out eight and allowing only four hits. Sophomore Alli Small had two hits and scored the opening run in the third inning on a single by classmate Rebecca Clayman. Lexi Buckner tied the game for Foxboro with a solo homer in the sixth and it stayed tied into the eighth.

Milford, 6 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Milford senior Ali Atherton inherited a two-on, no out situation in a relief appearance and struck out three straight batters to help the Hawks escape danger in the sixth inning. Atherton picked up the save with two innings of work. Kelley Reichert earned the win, striking out five while allowing five hits in five innings of work. At the plate, Maggie Farrell was 2-for-4 with two doubles and Emily Hartman was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Milford head coach Steve DeVitto praised the defense play of shortstop Emily Piergustavo and third baseman Kaitlyn DeCapua.

King Philip, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 7 – Final

Oliver Ames, 1 @ North Attleboro, 13 – Final (6 inn.) – North Attleboro’s offense has been clicking lately, scoring 46 runs over the past three games. Bella Erti, who threw a perfect game earlier this week, allowed only one hit and an unearned run, while striking out five. Meg Barlow went 4-for-4 with three RBI for North and Liz Morehouse and Erti both had a pair of hits in the win. For Oliver Ames, Victoria Ziner was 1-for-3 with a run scored and was knocked in by Caroline Mahoney (RBI).

Boys Lacrosse
Stoughton, 2 @ Canton, 14 – Final – Canton baptized its brand new turf with a big win over neighboring Stoughton. The Bulldogs raced out to a 8-1 lead at halftime with a big second quarter and capped its second half scoring with six goals in the third. Joey Vaughan scored the first goal on the new turf as Canton finished with ten different scorers. Sophomore Mike Shaw led with way with four goals and three assists while sophomore midfielder Matt Martin netted his first career goal.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 18 – Final

North Attleboro, 11 @ Plymouth North, 5 – Final – For the second straight game, the Rocketeers dominated the second half and came away with a win on the road. North was up 4-3 at half but allowed just two goals in the second half and scored seven goals to beat Plymouth North. Junior Jason McNeany had a dominant day at the face off X, winning 10 of 14 draws while adding two goals and one assist. Tommy Lockavitch also stepped up with a big game defensively, recording four ground balls. Zach McGowan (three goals, four assists) had seven points to pace the offense while Tommy Lindstrom chipped in with two goals and one assist and Colin Young had a pair of helpers. Paul Yeomans added a goal and an assist, Nick Ward, Owen Costello and Nick Moore each had a goal and David James had an assist.

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 9 @ Bishop Feehan, 5 – Final – Franklin clamped down defensively, allowing just one goal in the second half to pull away from the Shamrocks. Franklin built a 6-4 lead by the break but won the second half 3-1. Annie Walsh had four goals, Erin Walsh had two goals and Jordan Jette recorded three assists to pace the offense. Freshman Gianna Cameron had five saves in net for the Panthers.

Sharon, 18 @ Taunton, 12 – Final – Sharon had eight players score at least one goal, led by Alex Rabb with five and Christina Linehan added four. Sabrina Robbins added a hat trick for the Eagles and Anna Crosby had a pair of goals. Eighth grader Alana Tavares had four goals for the Tigers, while Abbey Kingman and Delaney Powell each had hat tricks.

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton avenged a loss to the Bombariders from a week ago, claiming a 3-2 decision in a non-league contest. Stoughton senior Stephens Bontemps won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at first singles, sophomore Erik Anderson won 6-2, 6-4 at second singles and the team of seniors Jon Podesta and Conor Kavanaugh won 6-3, 6-1 at first doubles. Attleboro’s Eli Araujo won 7-5, 6-4 at third singles and Ronaldo Salgueso and Hans Estrada won 6-1, 0-6, 10-7 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – Final – Sharon senior Griffin Fein had his back against the wall, down to his last point trailing 9-3 in a 10 point tiebreaker. But the defending Hockomock League MVP rattled off eight straight points to win 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 at first singles. Sharon’s Fred Bondar won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-4, 6-4 at third singles. The team of senior Alex Romantz and freshman Alberto Olivei won 6-2, 6-1 at first doubles and senior Sammy Kirshenbaum and junior Ashwin Sreevatsa won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles for the Eagles.

King Philip, 2 vs. Bishop Feehan, 3 – Final – The Warriors were edged out by the Shamrocks in a close match, dropping a close first singles match and then losing in a tiebreaker in doubles play. KP’s Blake Ginter won 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 10-6 at second singles and Martin Martous won 6-1, 6-2 at third singles.

Girls Tennis
Stoughton @ Attleboro, 3:45

Sharon, 4 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final – Sharon picked up a key division win, winning at second and third singles and both double matches. Freshman Emily Zhang won 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) and junior Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Sharon’s Emily Wen and Sydney Gordon won 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Sophia Prinos won a marathon match at first singles, prevailing 6-7 (7-9), 6-0, 7-6 (7-4).

Boys Volleyball
Milford, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton bounced back from its first loss of the season with a sweep of Milford, pulling off a 25-20, 25-19, 28-26 victory. Nate Grant recorded 35 assists and had one kill to set up the offense. Lens Esquil had 13 kills, two aces and three blocks, David Fusiecki added seven kills, three aces and a block and Malik Charles notched seven kills and two blocks for the Tigers.

Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 05/25/16

Baseball
Attleboro, 6 vs. Bishop Feehan, 5 – Final (8 inn.) – Attleboro rallied from a five run deficit, scoring four runs in the fifth inning and tying the game with a run in the sixth inning. Tyler Stowe brought in the game-winning run, his third RBI of the day, drawing a walk in the bottom of the eighth with the bases loaded. Will Carter, Brent Cook, John Burns and Cam Hochwarter each had two hits apiece for Big Blue. James Weir came on in relief for Attleboro, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings without giving up a hit.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Click here for a recap of the game.

King Philip, 4 @ North Quincy, 1 – Final

Mansfield, 6 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 4 – Final – The Hornets concluded the season by winning their fourth game in the last five, upsetting a tournament bound Trojans squad. Sophomore Tyler Dalton earned the win in six innings of work, striking out one. Jack Neureuter came on to get the save, pitching the seventh inning. Zach Peterson with 2-4 with a pair of RBI singles, Jake Tryder was 2-4 with an RBI single, Colin Gibbons had a pair of hits and an RBI and Max Boen went 1-3 with a squeeze bunt RBI.

Taunton, 10 @ New Bedford, 2 – Final – Sophomore Jacob Crawford broke open a scoreless game with a two-out, two-run double in the top of the fourth. Crawford, along with Kevin Griffin, Luke Figueira, Christian Simoes and Joe Manchester each had two hits. Max Bowden pitched four shutout innings for the Tigers, scattering three hits while striking out three.

Softball
Attleboro @ Bishop Feehan, 3:30

Stoughton @ King Philip, 3:30

Taunton, 3 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2 – Final – Taunton experienced a taste of the tournament with a close win over a talented Dighton-Rehoboth team. Aimee Kistner knocked in Jaime Brown in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Tigers the walk off win. Brown’s lead off walk preceded a single from Jordan Wade. Kistner singled up the middle to bring Brown home for the winning run. Wade went 2-3, scoring the Tigers’ first two runs while Meghan Navarro was 2-3, recording Taunton’s first two RBI. Kya Enos went 2-3 while Brown reached base three times via a walk. Kistner earned her 14th win of the of the season, tossing a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out five.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 4 @ Canton, 14 – Final – Canton freshman Mike Shaw paced the Bulldogs’ offense with four goals and two assists for a team-best six points. Senior Nick Gustafson netted his first career goal while CJ Martin, a converted midfielder, made two saves in the cage in the fourth quarter.

Foxboro, 4 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – Foxboro did all of its scoring in the first half, building a 4-0 lead just before the midway point of the second quarter and held off King Philip the rest of the way. Anthony Truini set of both of KP’s goals in the second quarter while Sam Agricola had a goal and an assist and Harry Fallon found the back of the net twice. Conor Khung had a strong game defensively, Steven Eaton recorded seven ground balls and Paul Macrina made 12 saves in net for KP.

Franklin, 7 vs. Dover-Sherborn, 8 – Final

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Mansfield, 15 – Final

Taunton, 4 @ Bristol Plymouth, 8 – Final – Andrew Wellington netted a hat trick for Taunton while Tommy Joyce scored once. Kyle Hebert added a pair of assists for the Tigers.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 15 @ Attleboro, 9 – Final – Mary Nee and Mary Kent scored scored four goals apiece, leading the Bulldogs to a win. With the victory, Canton punched their ticket to the postseason.

Milford, 3 @ Franklin, 21 – Final – Sophomore Kate Morse found the back of the cage twice and had four draw controls for the Panthers. Abby Egan added two goals and two assists and Shannon D’Arcangelo registered a hat trick in the win.

Mansfield, 18 @ Oliver Ames, 10 – Final

Sharon, 7 @ North Attleboro, 17 – Final – Erin Holley totaled nine points and Hannah Caster recorded five assists for North Attleboro. Brooke Ebert recorded 15 saves in the cage for the Rocketeers.

Taunton, 12 @ Bristol Plymouth, 2 – Final – Taunton finished its inaugural season with a win on the road at BP. Abbey Kingman and Annie Tate each scored a hat trick to pace Taunton’s offense while Layne Kingman scored once and had four assists. Tatum Speicher, Lindsay Sneyd, Bre Conlon, Hannah Moniz and Alexis Bissonnette each found the back of the net once.

Boys Tennis
Canton, 5 @ Quincy, 0 – Final

North Attleboro, 5 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – The Rocketeers won three matches comfortably but needed three sets to win the final two matches. Mitchell Dyer won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles and Barsomo Nuay won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. The team of Jake Fontes and Daniel Zhang won 7-6, 6-2 at second singles. Zack Pfeffer won 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10) at second singles and the team of Jeff Yao and Nick Lockavitch won 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-5) at first doubles for North Attleboro.

The team of Adam Dobbin and Alex Romantz won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and Tilak Mehta and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-3, 6-2 at second doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ New Bedford, 0 – Final – Taunton finished their season with a sweep on the road against the Whalers. Brett Beaulieu won 6-2 6-0 at first singles, Charlie Fiske won 6-1 6-3 at second singles and Mike Briggs won 6-1 6-1 at third singles. Tom Morrissey and Connor Briggs won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Kyle Medas and Zack Taylor won 6-0, 6-2 at second doubles.

Jackie Sulkala won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles and Sarah Leger won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. Lark Warner and Valeria Tueme won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles and Claudia Ferrara and Rachel Stryke won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles for OA.

Mansfield, 6 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Mansfield sophomore Tyler Dalton struck out six, scattering seven hits in his second straight complete game shutout. Aidan Cahill went 2-4 with a run scored, Jake Tryder was 3-4 with three RBI and Colin Gibbons had a double and two RBI for the Hornets.

King Philip, 5 vs. North Quincy, 1 – Final

Stoughton, 6 vs. Brockton, 8 – Final (8 inn.) – Justin Hutchinson struck out seven in a seven inning effort, allowing just six hits and one earned run. Hutchinson played a role on offense as well, going 2-3 with three RBI. Senior catcher Jake Gibb also went 3-5 with a double and a run scored for the Black Knights.

Taunton, 11 vs. New Bedford, 5 – Final – Freshman Jack Moynihan earned his first varsity win, allowing just one earned run in four innings of work. Moynihan allowed four hits while striking out four Whaler batters. Sophomore Joe Manchester paced the offense with a pair of hits and three RBI while senior Luke Figueira had two hits, two runs and an RBI and senior Brendon Mazerolle had three hits, three rubs and a pair of RBI.

Softball
Milford, 17 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final (5 inn.)

Taunton, 15 @ New Bedford, 1 – Final (6 inn.) – Jordan Wade had four hits and Meghan Navarro knocked in three runs to lead the Tigers. Wade went 4-5 with a triple and a pair of RBI while Navarro was 2-5 with the three RBI. Kya Enos went 3-5 with an RBI, Aimee Kistner had a home run, Becka Lajoie went 2-2 with a double and an RBI and Courtney Fisher was 2-2 with a double and three RBI. Kistner got her 10th win of the season, tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Fisher pitched the final two innings, striking out three while allowing one run.

Boys Tennis
Foxboro, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final

Franklin, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – The Panthers picked up their third win of the week and second in as many days, sweeping Milford. Rahul Herur, Eli Brooks and Dan Barrow swept at first, second and third singles, respectively. Tom Mancini and James Johnston won at first doubles and Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu won at second doubles for Franklin.

Sharon, 5 @ King Philip, 0 – Final – The Eagles of Sharon soared to a sweep at the road against a strong King Philip team. Griffin Fein won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Fred Bondar won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles and Andre Olivei won 6-3, 6-2 at third singles for Sharon. Alex Romantz and Adam Dobbin won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Tilak Mehta and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-3, 6-2 at second doubles.

Mansfield vs. Holliston, 3:45

North Attleboro, 5 @ Durfee, 0 – Final – The Rocketeers won all five matches in straight sets on the road in Fall River. Mitchell Dyer won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, Zack Pfeffer won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles and Barsomo Nuay won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles. The team of seniors Jeff Yao and Nick Lockavitch won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles and seniors Ben Scott and Duncan Pickett won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles for the Rocketeers.

Taunton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – The Taunton Tigers picked up their third win in a row, sweeping doubles play and getting one win at singles to edge OA. Mike Briggs won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles, the team of Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske won 7-6, 7-5 at first doubles and Kyle Medas and Dylan Kullas won 6-3, 6-3 at second doubles for Taunton. OA’s Thomas O’Leary and Greg Weinstein won in straight sets at first and second singles, respectively.

Girls Tennis
Sharon, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Sharon only lost a single game in all three singles matches combined to get the win. Sophomore Lulu Yuan won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, freshman Nupur Shulka won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Akhila Songadi and Sydney Gordon won 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 10-5 at first doubles and freshmen Sophia Fein and Sachi Bhasin won 7-5, 6-2 at second doubles.

Milford, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – Final

North Attleboro, 5 vs. Durfee, 0 – Final – All three of North Attleboro’s single players won in straight sets without losing a single game to spark Big Red. Julia Mark, Jordan Willis and Shurobhi Nandi all won 6-0, 6-0 at first, second and third singles respectively. The team of Emily Chiasson and Gabby Duva won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles and Katie Demontigny and Azka Siddiq paired up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ Coyle Cassidy, 0 – Final

Foxboro, 7 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Aaron Wentling picked up the win on the mound for the Warriors with four innings of work and Darren Kelly got the save in relief. Wentling and AJ Cavossa each added a pair of hits and two RBI at the plate while sophomore Chad Bearce had a two-out two-RBI hit for the Warriors.

Franklin, 6 @ Mansfield, 14 – Final – Sophomore Tyler Dalton struck out five in five innings of work to earn his first career win. Mansfield’s offense exploded with Kevin Dow and Mike Arnold each going 3-4 with three runs scored, Jake Tryder going 2-3 with two RBI and Tyrone Pascual went 2-3 with an RBI for the Hornets.

King Philip, 6 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – King Philip took a 3-0 lead in the top half of the first inning but had to battle back after the Rocketeers combined for five runs in the first and second innings. Will Weir had a three run home run that scored Stephan MacMeans (single) and Ben Furfari (walk). The Warriors then tied the game with a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Weir reached after being hit by a pitch and advanced on a single from Jon Rolfe. Both runners advanced on a double steal and Jack DiCenso followed it up with a two-run hit. Ryan Coulter scored the go-ahead run in the sixth after doubling, moving to second on a Ryan Guenette single and coming home on a wild pitch. DiCenso got the win for KP, coming on in relief and tossing 5.2 shutout innings while striking out seven. North Attleboro’s Brian Kleczkowski was 2-4 with an RBI.

Stoughton, 9 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Jack Connelly went 2-4 with a run scored and two RBI and Doug Seaman was 2-4 with two runs and an RBI and to lead the Black Knights’ offense. Justin Hutchinson got the win on the mound for Stoughton, going five innings allowing just one earned run on three hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Barry Cooke pitched two no-hit innings in relief.

Softball
Taunton, 13 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Courtney Fisher didn’t allow a run in six innings of work, walking just a pair and allowing two hits while striking out seven to get the win. Jordan Wade went 3-4 with a double and three RBI to lead the Tigers’ offense. Liana Duarte went 3-4 with an RBI and a stolen base, Meghan Navarro was 2-3 with a double and an RBI and Jaime Brown was 2-4 with a double and a triple and a run batted in.

Foxboro, 2 @ Milford, 14 – Final – Emily Piergustavo and Jess Tomaso each drove in three runs to pace the Scarlet Hawks’ offense. Piergustavo went 3-3 with a double and three runs scored while Tomaso was 3-4 with a home run, a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Maggie Farrell added two hits, including a triple, two RBI and two runs scored while Shannon Cormier had a double and a run scored. Ali Atherton struck out nine in six innings of work, allowing three hits and a pair of runs to get the win.

Franklin, 2 @ Mansfield, 7 – Final – Freshman Mady Bendanillo had a career day, connecting on a pair of home runs to lead the Hornets. Bendanillo hit a solo home run in the first inning and then connected for her first career grand slam in the second inning. The tandem of pitcher Maddie Letendre and catcher Bri Homer limited the Panthers at the plate. Letendre struck out six in a complete game while Homer played great behind the plate according to head coach Lori Letendre. Maddie Letendre helped her cause at the plate, going 2-3, while Megan Letendre, Kara Bendanillo, Rachel Carafa, Homer and Liz Mackin all had hits. For Franklin, Ally Shea went 2-4 with a run scored, Clara DeCarvalho was 2-4 and Alyssa Dasilva had a pair of RBIs in the top of the seventh.

North Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 11 – Final – Kali Magane went the distance for the Warriors, allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out 13 and walking none for the win. Offensively, KP had 12 hits with Christa Wagner and Haley McCasland paving the way. Wagner scored three runs while McCasland knocked in three runs. For North Attleboro, Mycala Moody had a double and scored two runs while Liz Morehouse added a single and an RBI.

Sharon, 0 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final – Shannon Flaherty struck out 11 in a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits and issuing just two walks to get the win. Karly Estremera had three singles and scored a run for the Black Knights while Brianna Ferrandiz knocked in a pair of runs for Stoughton.

Boys Lacrosse
Foxboro, 9 vs. Barnstable, 5 – Final

Franklin, 7 @ Cohasset, 8 – Final – Senior Austin Kent and sophomore Eric Civetti both scored a hat trick and registered an assist for the Panthers. Head coach Lou Verrochi said Sophomore Connor O’Rourke was superb in goal with nine saves.

King Philip, 6 vs. Bishop Feehan, 8 – Final – Sam Agricola scored five goals for the Warriors and assisted on the sixth but King Philip couldn’t overcome Feehan. Freshman Colin DeVellis scored his first career goal for King Philip.

Mansfield, 8 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – Billy Grant scored a hat trick to lead the Hornets, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half. Jon Reed added a pair of goals and Ryan Smith and Hunter Ferreira each had one. North was led by Colin Young and Zack McGowan each with two goals, while Nick Ward added one.

Oliver Ames, 10 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Senior Matt Gilson notched a hat trick in the game, putting him at 104 career points.

Sharon, 7 @ Norwell, 15 – Final

Taunton, 4 @ New Bedford, 5 – Final – Freshman Griffin Speicher led Taunton with a pair of goals while Andrew Wellington and Josh Grasso each scored once. Josh Grasso, Nick Croft, Mike Perrotta and Cam Welby each recorded assists. Ryan Williams made seven saves in net for the Tigers.

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 14 vs. Hingham, 7 – Final

North Attleboro, 20 @ Mansfield, 7 – Final – Hana Caster was the top scorer for the Rocketeers with seven goals.

Milford, 8 @ Oliver Ames, 22 – Final – Erin Fitzgerald found the back of the net four times, adding a pair of assists to lead OA. Sam Lang scored four goals and also added an assist in the win. Ariana Waldorf made 17 saves and head coach Craig Gardner said Waldorf was “stellar” in net. Kendall Clifford (three goals, three assists), Sofia Masciarelli (three goals, one assist) and Abby Duvall (three goals) helped contribute to Milford’s offense.

Taunton, 5 vs. New Bedford, 8 – Final

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Wins at first and third singles as well as first doubles led the Tigers to a win. Freshman Brett Beaulieu won 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 at first singles and Mike Briggs won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. The team of Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske won 6-2, 6-3 at first doubles to secure the win. Attleboro’s Tyler Letendre won 7-6, 6-4 at second singles and Khaled Hantash and Ahijah Joseph won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final

Mansfield, 1 @ Franklin, 4 – Final – Franklin won at second and third singles as well as first and second doubles to get the win. Junior Eli Brooks won 6-0, 6-3 at second singles and Tom Mancini won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. James Johnston and Cam Piana won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and the team of Jeremy Gran and Dan Barrow won 6-0, 6-2 at second doubles.

King Philip, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – Mitchell Dyer battled through a second set loss to pick up a 6-3, 5-7, 16-14 win in a super tiebreaker for the Rocketeers at first singles. Junior Jake Webster won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles while seniors Jeff Yao and Nick Lockavitch won 7-5, 6-1 at first doubles and Jake Fontes and Daniel Zhang won 6-2, 6-2 at second doubles.
