Attleboro, 4 vs. Dartmouth, 8 – Final – Dartmouth plate all eight of its runs in the second inning to get the win. Attleboro rallied to cut the deficit in half with four runs in the fifth inning. Nate Tellier drove in three runs with a triple and Will Carter had an RBI single for the Bombardiers.

Softball
Franklin, 6 @ Abington, 3 – Final – Alexx Niss had four hits to help pace the Panthers’ offense. Niss was 4-4 with a single, double and a pair of home runs, driving in four runs. Alyssa DaSilva was 2-3 with a double and an RBI and Olivia DiGiacomo was 2-3 with a pair of runs scored. Maddie Connelly had six putouts at second base and head coach Kate Fallon-Comeau noted Olivia Haba’s strong defense in the outfield.

Milford @ Silver Lake – Postponed to 4/24 at 10:00AM

North Attleboro, 3 vs. Durfee, 1 – Final – Amelia Murphy didn’t allow an earned run and struck out seven to get the win. Gina Miceli scored on a hit from Jordan Sharpe and then Liz Morehouse drove in Sharpe. Kristina Murphy had a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Rocketeers.

Boys Lacrosse
Foxboro, 13 vs. Whitman-Hanson, 10 – Final – Louis Piccolo led Foxboro’s offense with four goals while Pete Conley was the main setup guy on the day with six assists and one goal. Colin Spinney scored a hat trick and had three assists as well. Jake Addeche made eight saves in net for the Warriors.

Franklin, 11 vs. St. John’s Prep, 2 – Final – Austin Kent scored six goals to lead the Panthers to the win in the consolation game of the Creator’s Crosse Tournament at Lincoln Fields in Lexington. Nitin Chaudhury, Sam Arsenault, Chase Tanner, and Eric Civetti added goals for Franklin, while goalie Connor O’Rourke made 12 saves. Mike Keane also made a save in the first quarter after a penalty to O’Rourke.The Panthers led 7-1 by halftime and 10-1 after three quarters.

Mansfield, 9 vs. Scituate, 8 – Final – Mansfield held a 9-5 lead in the fourth quarter and was able to hold off Scituate’s late charge. Billy Grant had three goals and two assists and Connor Finerty added a pair of goals and one assists. Cullen Murphy scored once and had three assists and Hunter Ferreira, Sam O’Connell and Jon Reed each scored once. Sean Powers made 12 saves in net for Mansfield.

Milford, 1 @ King Philip, 18 – Final – King Philip built a 15-1 lead by halftime and used 12 different goal scorers to get the win. Freshman Collin DeVellis led the Warriors, scoring a hat trick and recording three assists. Harry Fallon added a pair of goals and a pair of assists for King Philip as well. Freshmen Connor Galvin and Andrew Sajcak each scored their first career goals in the win.

Friday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/22/16

Today’s games are listed below.

Baseball
Foxboro, 1 @ Attleboro, 9 – Final – Tyler McGovern was masterful on the mound and Nate Tellier was perfect at the plate as Attleboro picked up a win over visiting Foxboro. McGovern threw a complete game, scattering three hits and striking out 12 to get the win. Tellier was 4-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and a triple. He also drove in a pair and had two stolen bases. Will Carter added a double and a triple and Jon Dunn had two hits and two RBI for the Bombardiers.

Mansfield, 3 @ Hingham, 2 – Final Mansfield rallied in the top of the seventh inning with two runs to beat the Harbormen on the road. Freshman Dan Saraceno led off the final inning with a triple and Max Boen knocked him in for the tying run with a single. Boen eventually came around to score the go-ahead run on a passed ball. Sophomore Tyler Dalton got the win on the mound in a complete game effort. Dalton struck out four, scattering five hits. He closed the door in the seventh by inducing a 1-6-3 double play.

Sharon, 1 @ Medway, 8 – Final

Stoughton, 0 @ Whitman-Hanson, 5 – Final

Softball
Attleboro, 6 @ Dartmouth, 7 – Final

Foxboro vs. Westwood, 3:45

King Philip, 7 vs. Bishop Feehan, 3 – Final – Kali Magane delivered a stellar performance in the circle to help the Warriors avenge a loss to the Shamrocks earlier this month. Magane struck out 12, allowing just three hits on the day. Christa Wagner was 4-4 on the day with a homerun, a triple and three runs scored. Jenn Hutnyan added a two-run double and Magane helped her own cause with a pair of hits at the plate.

Mansfield, 10 @ Holliston, 5 – Final – The Hornets capitalized on nine hits to double up on Holliston. Megan Letendre had two hits and two RBI, Kara Bendanillo had a pair of hits and Maddie Letendre had one hit and two RBI. Marissa Staffier and Bri Homer each had a hit, Mady Bendanillo had a triple and scored on an error and Sarah Bradley had her first varsity hit and an RBI for the Hornets. Maddie Letendre stuck out seven, allowing five hits in a complete game effort to get the win.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Walpole, 1 – Final – Freshman Kayla Georgeu kept the Rebels at bay, tossing a complete game with five strikeouts and only four hits allowed. OA’s bats came to life with nine hits on the day. Missy Krim was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Rachel Han was 2-3 with a double and a run scored, Katie Pursley had a big triple in the 7th to score Jamie Gottwald (hit, RBI) and Victoria Ziner was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Taunton, 0 @ Attleboro, 13 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
Sharon, 8 @ Attleboro, 7 – Final

Franklin, 17 vs. Medfield, 6 – Final – Franklin raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first half and never looked back against D2 powerhouse Medfield. Kendall Reardon led Franklin with three goals and two assists while Kenzie Pleshaw and Diana Griffin had three goals apiece. Julia Jette and Halle Atkinson each had two goals for the Panthers. Head coach Kristin Igoe said Dana Lewandowski played well on defense, causing three turnovers.

North Attleboro, 12 @ King Philip, 13 – Final

Thursday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/21/16

Today’s games are listed below.

Baseball
Foxboro, 7 @ Carver, 4 – Final

Franklin, 5 vs. Catholic Memorial, 12 – Final – Josh Macchi drove in three runs with a double but the Panthers were unable to limit the Knights’ offense. Jake Lyons had a pair of hits and two runs scored, Nick Santucci scored twice and had one hit and Tyler Gomes drove in a pair of runs and scored once himself.

King Philip, 7 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Stephen Murray cleared the bases with a three RBI triple in the fourth inning to give the Warriors the separation they needed. After scoring the game’s first run in the second inning, Murray’s triple put KP up 4-0. The Warriors added a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Jack DiCenso had a pair of hits for the Warriors as well. Jon Wolfe got the win, tossing a complete game with four strike outs and no walks issued.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Falmouth, 10 – Final

Softball
Attleboro @ Foxboro, 3:45

Milford, 3 vs. Hopkinton, 2 – Final – Jess Tomaso hit a two-run homer to left to give the Hawks the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Milford threw out the tying run at the plate in the seventh on a relay from Kate Irwin to Kaitlyn DeCapua to catcher Megan Jacques. Kelley Reichert pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four to pick up the win and Ali Atherton closed the game in the seventh.

Stoughton, 1 @ Brockton, 14 – Final – Stoughton fell behind early to the Boxers and could not recover. Jenny D’Andrea, Shannon Flaherty, Bri Ferrandiz, and Jordan Lyons each had hits for the Black Knights. Gina Carafa gave up five earned runs in 2-2/3 innings with four strikeouts and Flaherty allowed five earned in two innings of relief while striking our three.

Taunton, 16 vs. Durfee, 1 – Final (5 inn.) – Taunton’s shutout streak to start the season came to an end at 34 innings but the Tigers put up their second highest number of runs to get the win. Jordan Wade continued her torrid start to the season with a single and double and two RBI in three at bats. Aimee Kistner was 3-3 with two doubles and four RBI, Meghan Navarro had a pair of hits and two RBI, Sarah Bagge had two hits and an RBI and Bailey Clapp had two hits and two RBI. Courtney Fisher won her third game of the year with a one hit, six strikeout performance. Fisher retired the last 12 batters after allowing a walk, hit, and error in the first which produced the Durfee run.

Mansfield, 13 vs. Needham, 1 – Final (6 inn.) – Maddie Letendre struck out 10 batters, allowing just one hit to get the win in the circle. Freshman Kara Bendanillo had a pair of hits and two strong plays defensively at third. Mady Bendanillo, Marissa Staffer and Maddie Letendre each had one hit for the Hornets.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 9 vs. Norwood, 7 – Final – Canton jumped out to a first quarter led but faced a 5-4 deficit at halftime. The Bulldogs ended up winning the second half 5-2 to get the win. Head coach Bill Bendell said Shaun Kirby played an all-around great game and finished with five goals and one assist. Norwood focused their defense on Ben O’Neill but Bendell noted he “played unselfishly the entire time” and finished with a goal and an assist. Ryan Lodge finished with two goals and freshman Mike Shaw added one goal. Bendell said freshman Brendan Albert and sophomore Brian Ghostlaw stepped up and played well at LSM.

Foxboro, 10 vs. Sandwich, 11 – Final – Austin Ryan led Foxboro’s defense with four goals while Trey Guerrini and Louis Piccolo eached scored twice and Pete COnley

Franklin, 5 vs. Beverly, 9 – Final – Sophomore Eric Civetti scored a hat trick and had one assist but the Panthers fell in a hole by halftime and couldn’t climb out. Freshman Jacob Alexander dominated at the faceoff X, winning 15/19 draws. Packie Watson and Sam Arsenault each added a goal and an assist for Franklin.

King Philip, 13 vs. Dartmouth, 2 – Final – Junior Tim Watson set the tone very early for the Warriors, who raced out to a 7-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and then didn’t allow a goal in the entire second half. Watson played a role in each of the Warriors’ first five goals, scoring four of them an assisting on another. Watson finished with five goals and two assists. Harry Fallon scored twice and had one assist. Sam Agricola, John DeLuca, Zach D’Amico, Ben Palmer, Steven Eaton (nine groundballs) and freshman Chris Longobardi each scored once for KP.

Mansfield, 19 vs. Braintree, 9 – Final – Mansfield trailed 7-6 at halftime but dominated the second half (13-2) to pull out the win.

Taunton, 2 @ Sharon, 20 – Final Andrew Wellington and Leon Bizinha scored for the Tigers.

Girls Lacrosse
Canton, 11 vs. Norwood, 4 – Final – Lindsey Nolte and Olivia Devoe each scored a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a win. Nolte also had an assist while Casey Bradley had five points with a pair of goals and three assists. Leah McClellan and Becca Eckler each scored a goal while Mary Nee scored once and had three assists.

Milford, 14 @ Hudson, 16 – Final

North Attleboro, 16 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – Final

Sharon, 17 @ Taunton, 6 – Final – Abbey Kingman scored four goals for the Tigers while Tatum Speicher found the back of the net twice.

Franklin, 12 vs. Framingham, 4 – Final – Senior Nick Santucci made a splash in his first game of the season, knocking in five runs behind a three hit day. Santucci had a double, triple and a home run for the Panthers. Jake Lyons was 2-2 (and two walks) with three runs scored, Josh Macchi had three hits with an RBI and a run scored and Alex Bissanti had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI with a run scored. Sophomore Jake Noviello got the win on the mound, tossing six innings with eight strikeouts and just two works, allowing two earned runs.

Mansfield, 0 @ Braintree, 7 – Final – The Hornets were limited to three hits in the game with Tyrone Pascual having a double and Max Boen and Kevin Dow each recording a single.

Sharon, 1 vs. North Quincy, 2 – Final (11 inn.)

Stoughton, 3 @ Taunton, 6 – Final – Luke Figueira struck out 10 in six-plus innings of work to lead the Tigers to their second win in as many days. Figueira allowed three runs, all coming in the seventh, and just four runs. At the plate, the senior had a pair of hits and a run scored. Sophomore Joe Manchester had two hits, two RBI and a run scored and senior Brendon Mazerolle and sophomore Christian Simoes each added two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Mazerolle picked up his first save of the year, inheriting a bases loaded situation – the tying run at the plate – with no outs and was able to get out of the jam.

Softball
North Attleboro, 16 @ Canton, 2 – Final – North Attleboro’s Amelia Murphy tossed a two-hitter to earn the win and helped her own cause at the plate with a home run and a triple. Kaylea Sherman added a home run and a single, Jordan Sharpe went 4-5 with five RBI and Gina Miceli and Rylee Guthrie each added a pair of hits for the Rocketeers.

Franklin, 0 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 2 – Final

Milford, 11 vs. Hopedale, 3 – Final – Ali Atherton didn’t allow a run in six innings of work, scattering three hits and striking out eight to hand Hopedale its first loss of the season. Jess Tomaso was 1-2 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of walks and Meg Jacques went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Maddy Bonvino went 1/2 with a double, an RBI and a walk and Emily Piergustavo was 1-3 with a sacrifice fly and two RBI.

Oliver Ames, 1 vs. Weymouth, 7 – Final – Freshman Kayla Georgeu pitched seven innings for the Tigers with eight strikeouts, allowing just one earned run. Offensively, Jamie Gottwald was 1-3 with a double and a run scored, Lexie Campbell was 1-3 with an RBI and Missy Krim was 1-2.

Taunton, 12 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – Taunton’s Katie Van Zandt had a pair of hits and knocked in three runs to pace Taunton’s offense. Jordan Wade went 3-3 with a pair of triple, two runs scored and an RBI and Aimee Kistner added a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. Kistner struck out six in four innings of work while Courtney Fisher struck out a pair in one inning of work. For Stoughton, Brianna Ferrandiz had a pair of hits and Sam Tullis and Gina Carafa each had one.

Boys Lacrosse
Milford, 3 vs. Ashland, 15 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 5 vs. Medfield, 9 – Final

Franklin, 11 @ Andover, 10 – Final – Andover scored to get within one late and won the ensuing draw but Grace McDermott forced a turnover and the Panthers were able to run out the remaining 90 seconds to get the win. Kenzie Pleshaw led the way offensively with six goals, Julia Jette had two goals and two assists and Dani Lonati made seven saves in net.

King Philip, 9 vs. Walpole, 18 – Final

King Philip, 5 vs. Walpole, 0 – Final

Milford @ Mansfield, 11:00AM

Stoughton, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton won both matches at doubles and one singles match to edge Stoughton. Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles, Caleb Seafort and Kyle Dennehy won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles and Tom Morrissey won 6-2, 6-3 at second singles. Stoughton’s Adam Potter won 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) at first singles and Micah Pellegrini won 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-4) at third singles for the Black Knights.
