Attleboro, 6 @ Milford, 0 – Final – In its second game in as many days, Attleboro bounced back from a loss on Monday with a convincing win on Tuesday on the road over Milford. Siobhan Landers paced the attack for the Bombardiers, netting a pair of goals. Jordan Mooney, Emma Briggs, Emelia Westwater, and Sarah McMahon all scored once for Attleboro.

Stoughton, 0 @ Canton, 6 – Final

Foxboro @ North Attleboro, 5:15

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 9 – Final – Franklin scored three goals inside a six minute span in the first quarter to set the tone and the Panthers never looked back in a win over visiting Taunton. Kaitlyn Carney, Sydney Rogan, and Payten Crandall all scored for Franklin with the latter also assisting on the second goal. Carney went on to add three more goals, two assisted by Emily Carney in the third quarter. Shaw Downing and Haley Wernig also had first half goals while Sophia Cuneo tacked on a goal in the fourth quarter. Megan Sullivan had the shutout in net for the hosts.

King Philip, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first half, King Philip scored once in each quarter of the second half to get a win on the road over Mansfield. Sophomore Mara Boldy broke the deadlock with a goal midway through the third quarter and sophomore Kelly Holmes put the game away when she found the back of the cage with three minutes to play. Junior Haley Bright turned away three shots to earn the save while seniors Molly Piller, Christina Gifun, and Lily Brown all had strong games for KP. KP head coach Lisa Cropper praised the “outstanding game” of freshman Abby MacDonald, who made her first varsity start at left midfield.

Oliver Ames, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames set the tone in its road game at Sharon with three goals in the first quarter, stretching the lead to 5-0 by the halftime break. Erin Cottam opened the scoring off an assist from Georgia Costello less than a minute into the contest and then doubled the Tigers’ advantage off a feed from Tyla Delamere. Costello then made it 3-0 with just under five minutes to go in the first quarter. Julia Maclaine and Ava Costello scored by halftime while Lily Gaskill had two first half assists. Georgia Costello (from Cottam) aded the final goal in the third quarter.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Attleboro erased a one-set deficit by winning three straight to earn a win on the road over the Scarlet Hawks, 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18). Summer Pereira had a strong performance at the net with 12 digs, Natalie Brojek dished out 30 assists, and freshman Julia Leonardo finished with 14 digs and 18 kills. Gabby Bolduc and Tigin Bombardier both played well at the night for Attleboro.

Foxboro @ North Attleboro, 6:00

Stoughton, 0 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Canton grabbed its second win in as many days, this time sweeping neighboring Stoughton, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12). Anna Verille had a standout performance for the Bulldogs, recording 12 digs, eight aces, and a kill. Taylor Reynolds dished out 21 assists while Kelly MacDonald had a perfect night at the service line and played solid defense.

Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin senior Cailyn Mackintosh did it all to lead the Panthers to a win at home, a 3-0 sweep (25-11, 25-9, 25-20) over Taunton. Mackintosh had 21 assists, 10 digs, four aces, and three kills in a strong all-around performance while sophomore Taylor Lacerda added 10 kills an an ace in the win.

King Philip, 3 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – King Philip went on the road and earned a win in hard-fought battle, walking away with a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-16, 25-16). The Warriors had a balance attack at the net led by Sami Shore’s 10 kills, Ahunna James’ nine kills, and Emily Sawyer’s six kills. Samantha Asprelli added 11 digs to anchor the defense while Stella Bailey shined at the service line with 17 service points, including seven aces.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery from this match – Oliver Ames took care of business in the first two sets and then fended off a strong fight from Sharon in the third to complete the 3-0 sweep (25-12, 25-14, 25-23). Hadley Rhodes dished out 20 assists, Maddie Homer recorded 22 digs, and Sarah Hilliard (12 kills) and Courtney Raymond (five kills, five aces) paced the offense. Junior Mary Derba had a strong all-around game at the net for the Tigers.




Boys Cross-Country
Franklin, 20 @ Attleboro, 43 – Final – Attleboro’s Lee Casstevens won the race but the next seven runners to cross the finish line were all Panthers. Casstevens crossed at 17:15 for first overall followed by Franklin’s Griffin Sieczkiewicz in second and Clancy Golden in third. Stephen Rontiris, Tyler Apicella, Michael Farrow, Connor Kucich, and Will Boozang all finished in order to round out the top eight spots.

King Philip, 46 @ Taunton, 17 – Final – Taunton senior captain Ryan Strawbridge ran a personal best time on his way to a first place finish at home, helping the Tigers win big on senior night. Strawbridge shaved seven seconds off his previous best, setting a new mark at 17:15 in the win. Sophomores Brayden Cali (17:16) and Andrew Cali (17:41) rounded out the top three for the Tigers, freshman Cam Dorr set a new PR by over 30 seconds for fifth overall, and junior Sam Dennis took sixth overall in his varsity debut. Junior captain Jack Pawlowski also set a new PR by over 30 seconds and took seventh overall.

Mansfield, 23 @ Milford, 32 – Final – Mansfield picked up its second win in a row to start the season, this time taking down Milford on the road. Collin Stevens was the Hornets’ top finisher, clocking in at 17:28. Sophomore Talon Johnson had a strong showing in his debut race, crossing the finish line at 18:34 for sixth overall.

Girls Cross-Country
Franklin, 15 @ Attleboro, 50 – Final – It was a clean sweep for the Panthers with their five scorers taking the first five spots in the race. Abigail Baker was first overall followed by Fiona Morrison, Carli Walbert, Alex Batla, and Vivie Loukota to found out the top five.

King Philip, 27 @ Taunton, 28 – Final – Taunton had the top two runners but King Philip took the next four spots plus a ninth place finish to edge out Taunton by a point. Taunton freshman Emersyn Deponte tied the Tiger record for dual meet wins in a season by taking first in her second straight race, this time in 21:10. Classmate Colby Dunham was just seconds behind for second overall in 21:32. Also scoring for Taunton was junior Kiley Quinlan (22:16), junior Phylicia Dias (23:06), and eighth grader Tori Corrao (23:55).

Mansfield, 22 @ Milford, 33 – Final – Mansfield sophomore Anna Moore won the race and the Hornets got key points following some great pack running in a win over Milford. Moore clocked in at 20:12 for first overall, followed by Milford’s Sydney Kalil (20:27), Mansfield’s Meghan Johnston (20:42), and Milford’s Jillian Araujo (20:47). After splitting the first four spots, Mansfield’s trio of junior Devin Anderson, senior Sophia Allen, and junior Alanna Conley finished in that order within a 10-second span to take the next three spots and help the Hornets get the win.

Golf
Stoughton, 194 @ Sharon, 175 – Final – Sharon defended its home turf with a win over Stoughton at the Cape Club of Sharon. Eric Carter earned match medalist honors after shooting a 43 to lead the Eagles. Rosie Leonard, Chance Hanna, and Noah Glassman all shot 45 to round out the scoring for the hosts. Anthony Hern had the low-round for the Black Knights, shooting a 44 on the day.

Canton, 151 @ Franklin, 166 – Final – All four of Canton’s scorers shot 40 or better on the road at Franklin Country Club, leading the Bulldogs to a non-league win. Conor Hunter was the match medalist, shooting a low-round of 35 to pace the visitors. Will Gefteas added a 36 in the win while both Mike Leonetti and Nate MacDonald shot 40. CJ Steel fired a team-low round of 40 for the Panthers, Brendan Collins and Tyler O’Brien each shot a 41, and Liam Lewandowski came in with a round of 44.

North Attleboro, 168 @ Foxboro, 170 – Final – North Attleboro did just enough on the front nine at Foxboro Country Club to take home a two-stroke victory over division foe Foxboro. Jake Gaskin continued his strong play this season, this time coming in with a one-under par round of 37 to earn match medalist honors. Dillon Harding added a 43 in the win while both Tyson Laviano and Aaron Levesque finished at 44. Foxboro’s Jack Rounds had a team-low round of 40 while Matt Sullivan was just a shot behind at 41. Matt Fossella added a 44 and Jack Watts chipped in with a 45.

Mansfield, 150 @ Oliver Ames, 151 – Final – Mansfield returned home with a hard fought win, taking a one-stroke victory on the road at Pine Oaks against Oliver Ames. Hunter Tang fired an even par round of 34 to earn medalist honors for the Hornets, Cian Goulet added 38 in the win, and both Cody Nieratko and Ryan Doherty shot a 40. For Oliver Ames, senior captain Jake Kaplan had the team-low round of 36, both Jo Jo Gaultier and Daniel Paul shot 38, and Brendan Connelly and David Rodgers each finished at 39.

Taunton, 196 vs. New Bedford, 212 – Final – Taunton earned its first win of the season by knocking off New Bedford, splitting the season series with the Whalers. Loran Corcoran led the Tigers with a team-low round of 47 while Jack Gobin and Shawn Murphy each shot 48 for Taunton.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ West Bridgewater, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames peppered the West Bridgewater goal but only broke through once, falling on the road. The Tigers held a 25-5 advantage in shots with Erin Cottam (from Georgia Costello) scoring the lone goal for OA.

Boys Cross-Country
Attleboro, 33 @ Taunton, 23 – Final – Taunton snagged five of the top seven spots to earn a win at home over visiting Attleboro. Sophomore Brayden Cali paced the Tigers with a second-place finish in 17:13 while senior captain Ryan Strawbridge was third overall in 17:22. Sophomore Andrew Cali (fifth, 17:47), freshman Cam Dorr (sixth, 18:29), and junior Jack Pawlowski (seventh, 18:30) also scored for the Tigers. Attleboro’s Lee Casstevens won the race in 16:48 while Ethan Sylvia (17:29) was fourth overall.

Canton, 26 @ Stoughton, 29 – Final – Canton took three out of the top five spots, including first, to earn a close win over Stoughton. Senior Kyle Downing was first overall to lead Canton while sophomore Luke Darling was fourth and Max Kupferman took fifth overall.

Foxboro @ Oliver Ames, 3:45

Mansfield, 25 @ Franklin, 31 – Final – Mansfield took the top two spots at Dacey Field on its way to a close win over Franklin. Collin Stevens crossed the finish line in 17:42 for first place while teammate Riley Tremblay was second at 17:57. Franklin senior Clancy Golden took third overall at 17:58.

Girls Cross-Country
Attleboro, 48 @ Taunton, 15 – Final – Taunton had one of its best races since joining the Hockomock League, sweeping the top five spots for the first time since joining in 2013. Freshman Emersyn Deponte took first in 21:23 and was followed by freshman Colby Dunham (21:31), senior Nia Mainer-Smith (22:15), junior Kiley Quinlan (22:24), and junior Phylicia Dias (22:47). Attleboro’s top finisher was Taylor DeCristoforo in 25:37.

Canton, 19 @ Stoughton, 36 – Final – Canton had the first three runners cross the finish line to pick up a win on the road at Stoughton. Senior Kiara Cerruti led the way, coming in first overall followed by classmates Corinne Campbell and Hannah Fidas.

Mansfield, 44 @ Franklin, 19 – Final – It was an an impressive showing from the Panthers in the first race of the season, taking eight of the top nine spots in the race against the Hornets. Franklin senior Charlene Peng won the race in 20:56 while Mansfield sophomore Anna Moore clocked in four seconds later with a PR time of 21:00 for second. Senior Sophia Allen, junior Devin Anderson, senior Megan Johnston, and senior Alana Conley also scored for Mansfield.

Golf
Oliver Ames, 155 @ Attleboro, 164 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Jo Jo Gaultier had an eagle, Sean Kearns had three birdies, and Lucas Riley had a pair of birdies to help the Tigers earn a win at Stone-E-Lea. Kearns was the match medalist, shooting one-under par on the fifth, sixth, and eighth holes for a round of 38. Riley added a round of 39 after birdies on five and eighth while Gaultier came in with a 39 with an eagle on six. Daniel Paul rounded out OA’s scoring with a 40. Attleboro senior Brendan Raymond had a team-low round of 39.

Stoughton, 195 @ Foxboro, 164 – Final – Consistency was key for the Warriors on the front 9 at Foxboro Country Club on Tuesday with all four of its scorers finishing within two strokes of one another. Jack Rounds was the medalist with a round of 40 after one birdie and three pars. Jack Watts (one birdie, three pars) and Matt Fossella (four pars) each added a round of 41 while Matt Sullivan (four pars) finished at 42. Anthony Hern paces the Black Knights with a round of 45.

North Attleboro, 173 @ Franklin, 163 – Final – Franklin sophomore CJ Steel was the lone golfer to come in under 40, earning match medalist honors while pacing the Panthers to a win at home. Steel shot a low-round of 38 while Brendan Collins added a 40, Caroline Woelfel (birdie) added a 42, and both Anthony Lampasona and Tyler O’Brien (43) shot a 43. North Attleboro’s Jack Gaskin and Tyson Laviano each shot 40 while Dillon Harding came in with a round of 43.

Milford, 189 @ Mansfield, 162 – Final – Mansfield senior Cian Goulet fired a team-low round of 37 to lead the Hornets past visiting Milford. Hunter Tang added a round of 40, sophomore Nathan McClean shot a 42, and both Ryan Doherty and Jordan Tavares finished at 43.

Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 5 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – OA rallied from a goal down with five straight scores to open its season with a road win. Jamie Davies had put Attleboro ahead in the ninth minute, off a Kacey Parker assist, but not two minutes later the Tigers equalized on a long-range strike by freshman Emma Gavin. Camryn O’Connor put OA ahead for good and then Kyla Melton scored either side of halftime to put the game out of reach. Alex Lane added the fifth with 15 minutes left to play. Attleboro coach Steve Santos praised his central defenders Olivia Calderone and Emma Stromfors but admitted that the Tigers just had too much on Friday.

Foxboro, 5 vs. Walpole, 2 – Final – After being shut out on Thursday, the Warriors found their offense on Friday to earn a non-league win. Kailee McCabe was the star, as the All-New England selection scored three times and assisted on another. Erin Foley and freshman Neve Taylor also got on the board for Foxboro. Foxboro coach Katie Stalcup also praised the Warriors defense for fighting hard the whole game to keep out the Timberwolves.

Field Hockey
Oliver Ames, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final – Attleboro defended its home turf with a win over the defending Davenport division champions Oliver Ames. Sarah McMahon and Madison Ellis each had a goal and an assist to pace the Bombardier offense. Alyvia Bessette opened the scoring for Attleboro followed by Ellis (unassisted) and McMahon (from Ellis and Olivia Hillman).

Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Franklin opened the second in style, pumping in a pair of goals in both the second and third quarters, to knock off visiting Canton. Kendall Jones (from Kaitlyn Carney) opened the scoring but Canton’s Erin Lane tied the game just two minutes later. Franklin pulled ahead in the second and never looked back; Carney (unassisted) and Jones (from Shaw Downing) scored three minutes apart to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead at the half. In the third, Downing (unassisted) scored less than a minute in and Payton Crandall (from Carney) notched her first career goal to cap the scoring. Megan Sullivan made six saves to earn the win in net.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – North Attleboro sophomore goalie Gracie Leary made two huge saves inside the final three minutes to help preserve a point for the Rocketeers on the road at Mansfield. Leary totaled nine saves, including her final one with just over a minute to go to get the point. Junior Julia Puccio scored on a corner in the first quarter on a pass from Zoe McKeon. Mansfield got goals from Rose Maher and Dani Cuzzi to take the lead but North’s Caroline Folan scored on a corner with 3:25 to play to level the scoring.

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. McKenna Smith was able to squeeze the ball through a scrum in front of goal and across the line midway through the fourth quarter for the game’s lone goal.

Stoughton, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton opened the new season at home with a shutout win over the visiting Black Knights. Emily Gannon turned away six shots to get the shutout win in net. Ashley Amaro and Kaysie DeMoura both grabbed a goal and an assist in the win while Caelen O’Leary had the first goal of the game. Thalia Nogueria, Kylie Thorpe, and Braeley MacDonald also played well for the Tigers.

For OA, senior Hadley Rhodes had 15 assists and six kills, Maddie Homer had 24 digs and 22 serve receptions and sophomore Sarah Hilliard tallied 10 kills.

Ahunna James paced the offense with seven kills, Sami Shore added six kills and four aces, Sofia Reidel had was strong at the service line with seven aces and Emily Sawyer put down five kills in her debut.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin fended off a big challenge from Canton in the final set to secure a 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-16, 25-23) over the Bulldogs. Cailyn Mackintosh had 20 assists, Lindsey Tarantola recorded seven kills and Cate Roberge had a big game for the Panthers with seven aces and five kills. Sophomore Jess Wright notched 11 kills in her varsity debut for the Bulldogs while freshman Zoe Scibelli played well defensively at libero in her first match. Senior Anna Verille had a great game defensively with 16 digs to go along with four kills and an ace while Taylor Reynolds dished out 21 assists.

Stoughton, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton grabbed its second win on the young season, this time with a 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-20, 25-23) win over Stoughton. Mikayla Cleary led the charge with 11 kills, seven aces, and three blocks, Hayley Krockta had five kills, and Angie Lynch had a strong game at the net with three kills and two aces. Danielle Lofgren (six digs), Mia Fernandes, and Jess Foley all set the tone for the Tigers with a strong serve receive.

Golf
Canton, 145 @ North Attleboro, 160 – Final – For the second straight match, all of Canton’s scorers broke the 40 mark, this time to get a key division win at Heather Hills. Canton’s Conor Hunter and Mike Leonetti as well as North Attleboro’s Jake Gaskin all shared medalist honors at 35. Will Gefteas added a 36 for the Dogs while Mekhala Costello and Nate MacDonald each came in with a round of 39 for Canton. Tyson Laviano added a round of 36 for the Big Red.

Sharon, 158 @ Oliver Ames, 155 – Final – Oliver Ames made it three straight wins to start the season, knocking off visiting Sharon at Pine Oaks by three strokes. Sharon’s Nate Daly was the match medalist at 35 while Eric Carter chipped in with a 37.

King Philip, 166 @ Franklin, 171 – Final – King Philip emerged from a key division showdown with Franklin with a close win at Franklin Country Club. Pat Reardon was the match medalist, firing a three-over round of 38 while Mike Matheson chipped in with a 42 for the Warriors. For Franklin, Corey Steel shot a 39 while Tyler O’Brien sank a birdie on the seventh hole to help finish with a round of 42.
