Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/07/21

Volleyball
Canton, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalCanton went on the road and completed a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-15) sweep of Foxboro to clinch the program’s third straight Davenport division title. Senior Angie Elias had her best offensive showing of the season with 20 kills and eight digs to lead the way for Canton. Liz Bickett added 10 kills and 20 digs while Jackie Morrissey and Taylor Reynolds combined for 27 assists in the win.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalOliver Ames snapped a three-match kid, going on the road and earning a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-19) win over the Black Knights. Senior Jordan Bennett had a solid all-around performance for the Tigers with 17 service points, eight kills, and eight digs while classmates Sarah Morley (14 digs) and Allie Zwerle (10 digs) played well defensively. Junior Hadley Rhodes finished with 19 assists and four blocks.

Mansfield, 3 @ Milford, 1 – FinalAfter splitting the first two games, Mansfield outlasted Milford in a marathon third set and went on to close it out with two straight wins for a 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 27-25, 25-14) win on the road. Olivia McGrath led the way with 12 kills and 16 digs, Alina Nowakowski added eight kills, eight aces, 11 digs, and a block, and Kacey Veiking chipped in with six kills, six digs and three aces. Julia Kelly (23 digs) anchored the defense while Christina Lydon (20 assists) and Isabella Flint (15 assists) split setting duties.

Boys Winter Track
Mansfield, 50 @ Attleboro, 50 – FinalAttleboro won both relays to rally for a tie against visiting Mansfield. After the Hornets were disqualified during the 4×100, the Bombardiers ran away with a win in the 4×400 to bring the score to 50-50. Nate Seybert gave the hosts a good start in the final race, Ethan Sylvia and John Blouin kept the Bombardiers ahead, and Joey Soucy finished strong (3:44.6) to get the win and tie the meet. Soucy also finished first in the 200M (23.7) while Seybert (2:08.9) won the 800M race. Attleboro also got wins from Ethan Crosby (shotput, 41′ 8’5″) James Hill (long jump, 18’10”) and Eric Laurila (high jump, 5’1″).

Girls Winter Track
Mansfield, 70 @ Attleboro, 30 – FinalFor Attleboro, Diana Blouin won the 1 Mile and was a member of the winning 4×400 relay team but the Bombardiers fell to visiting Mansfield. Blouin set a season record at 5:43.2 in the mile and teamed with Madison Ellis, Rebecca Rainey, and Cassondra Stuger to win the 4×400 relay (4:34.2). Stuger also won the 400M in 1:01.6 and took second in the 200M (27.6).

Mansfield, 1 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalAfter splitting the first two sets, Franklin win two in a row to complete a 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 25-10) win over the visiting Hornets. Cailyn Mackintosh dished out 26 assists in the win while Ally Bonnet-Eymard (eight kills, 11 digs), Lindsey Tarantola (seven kills), and Emma Chase (six kills, two blocks, two aces) paced the attack for Franklin. Alina Nowakowski (nine kills, eight digs) led the charge offensively for Mansfield while Olivia McGrath (five kills, eight aces) and Julia Kelly each registered 18 digs apiece.

Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalAfter splitting the first two sets, Mansfield pulled away to win two straight to get a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20) win at home over Attleboro. Olivia McGrath (24 digs, six kills, five aces), Julia Kelly (23 digs, five aces), Sarah Dooling (11 digs, eight kills), and Isabella Flint (10 digs, nine assists) all had strong showings defensively for the Hornets. Alina Nowakowski added 10 kills and three blocks while Kacey Veiking dished out 20 assists to go along with 10 digs. For Attleboro, Ana Leonardo and Natalie Brojek each had seven kills, Lilly Boedeker added 16 digs, and Kate Petrosso had a strong showing at the service line.

Canton, 3 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalBuoyed by a strong team defensive performance, Canton went on the road and earned a 3-0 (25-21, 25-8, 25-19) sweep of North Attleboro. Jackie Morrissey and Taylor Reynolds (nine aces) ran the court well with a combined 22 assists while Angie Elias (12 kills, four aces, six digs) and Liz Bickett (10 digs, five kills, two blocks) played well for the Bulldogs.

Stoughton, 3 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final

Sharon, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a deciding fifth game but Sharon prevailed in an incredibly tight battle, 3-2 (25-16, 25-19, 24-26, 21-25, 15-13). For OA, junior Hadley Rhodes had 25 assists, senior Jordan Bennett added 15 kills, senior Sarah Morley recorded 48 receptions and 21 digs, and senior Allie Zwerle chipped in with 12 digs and four aces.

Olivia McGrath paced the Hornet attack with 12 kills and nine aces to go along with 16 digs while Kacey Veiking added six kills and a block. Nicole Santos and Alina Nowakowski (nine digs) each had five kills, Julia Kelly (15 digs) and Ashley Santos (nine digs) anchored the defense, and Isabella Flint (30 assists, three aces) had a strong all-around game.

Mansfield, 2 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalMansfield rallied from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth game but Taunton rebounded to close it out for the 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 24-26, 15-8) win. Mikayla Cleary led the way for the hosts with 13 kills and a pair of blocks, Hayley Krockta added six kills and three aces, and Kyla Cook chipped in with four kills and solid serving (one ace). Anastasia Lajoie solidified the serve receive for the Tigers and had a strong day passing. For Mansfield, Isabella Flint dished out 34 assists to go along with five digs to pace the Hornets’ well-balanced offense. Alina Nowakowski (eight kills, three blocks), Olivia McGrath (eight kills), Kacey Veiking (seven kills), and Nicole Santos (seven kills, six aces, two blocks) paced the Hornet offense while Julia Kelly had a strong showing serving (11 aces) and defensively (23 digs).

Franklin, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalFranklin went on the road and earned another 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-18) sweep over Milford, moving to 2-0 on the season. Ally Bonnet-Eymard paced the offense for the Panthers with 15 kills while freshman Taylor Lacerda added nine kills in the win. Junior Cailyn Mackintosh went an impressive 18-for-19 on the service line for Franklin.

King Philip, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game.King Philip rallied from a 2-0 deficit, winning three straight sets to earn a 3-2 (18-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-6) on the road. Giovanna Fruci stepped up big for the Warriors with 14 kills, sophomore Ahunna James added 13 kills and two aces, and Nicole Coughlan had 11 kills and two aces. Lauren Peterson dished out 31 assists and Emma Brooks anchored the defense with 26 digs. For Mansfield, Olivia McGrath (two aces) and Alina Nowakowski (three blocks) each put down 13 kills while Christina Lydon finished with 34 assists. Nicole Santos added four blocks, three kills, and two aces while Julia Kelly had three aces.

North Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames opened its home schedule in style, earning a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-18) sweep over visiting North Attleboro to improve to 2-0 on the season. Sophomore Maddie Homer shined at the service line with 27 service points and three aces, adding 10 digs defensively. Senior Caroline Flynn added 18 kills, senior Sarah Morley had 27 digs and four aces, and junior Hadley Rhodes chipped in 28 assists. For North Attleboro, Joanna Collins-Bilyeu had five kills and five digs while Ava Dunlevy added nine digs.

Wednesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 10/23/19

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalAttleboro scored twice in a five-minute span in the second half to earn a comeback win over Taunton and punch its ticket to the state tournament. Sarah McMahon and Amanda Burns scored just under four minutes apart as the Bombarders overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit. Jocelyn Pagliuca scored with just under two minutes left in the first half to put the hosts ahead.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 6 – Final

Franklin, 8 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames cut it to a one-goal game 10 minutes into the second half but Franklin scored four straight goals to finish the game and pull away for the win. Hannah Stryke scored her second of the game with just over 20 minutes left in the game to make it 4-3, but Amanda Lewandowski answered a minute later, Kaitlyn Carney scored her third goal to increase the lead, and Jill Fenerty scored a pair of unassisted goals to complete her hat trick to give the Panthers an 8-3 win. Carney scored twice in the first half and set up Olivia Rondeau on a corner with no time left to give the visitors a 3-1 lead at half. Neilee Hess had four saves in net while Kate O’Rourke came up with a big defensive stop for Franklin.

King Philip, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalSophomore Christian Gifun had a goal and an assist to help King Philip claim a win on the road at Mansfield. Gifun used a beautiful cross to set up junior Isabelle Crocker for her first varsity goal in the 10th minute. Gifun then tipped in a feed from senior Sammy Robison to make it 2-0 in the 19th minute. Makenzie Manning earned the shutout with 15 saves while Charlotte Colella and Haley Izydorczak turned in stellar defensive performances for KP.

Milford, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalAlexa Agnew and Kat Swineford each scored once as Milford went on the road and picked up a win over Stoughton. Paige Reisman mad six saves to earn the win for the Scarlet Hawks. Morgan Lessa scored for the Black Knights.

Jaelyn Fernandez set up the Tigers’ offense, dishing out 29 assists to go along with six kills and four aces. Hailey Sullivan added 10 digs and two aces while Riley Edwards chipped in with four kills and two blocks. Sonya Fernandez (six kills, three aces), Ella Dunderdale (five kills, three aces), and Mikayla Cleary (five kills, block) all played well for Taunton.

Sharon, 2 @ Foxboro, 3 – FinalSharon and Foxboro went back and forth, with the Warriors taking the first and fourth sets and the Eagles winning the second and third. The Warriors pulled out a tightly contested fifth set to earn the 3-2 win (25-16, 26-28, 25-27, 25-19, 17-15). Grace Boudreau led the way for Foxboro with 17 kills, four blocks, and 23 digs, Shakirah Ketant chipped in with three kills and four total blocks, and Grace Fortune finished with 23 digs and 12 service points.

Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalOliver Ames avenged a loss from earlier this season, winning two straight sets to break a 1-1 tie to earn a 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21) win over Franklin. Allie Kemp set the offense in motion for OA with 38 assists as Jordan Bosse (14 kills, four aces), Ryley McNeeley (13 kills), and Jordyn Vella (six kills, four blocks) had strong performances at the net. Alison Barth anchored the defense with 32 serve receptions and 27 digs. For Franklin, Sophie Lyons had 15 kills, Allyson Bonnet-Eymard added 12 kills and 15 digs, Bridget Jackson and Emma Chase each registered six kills, Cailyn Mackintosh added 39 assists, and Jill Benoit had 11 digs.

King Philip, 3 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalKristen Masse shined on the service line for the Warriors, leading her team to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-9) win on the road at Mansfield. Masse had 16 service points with 12 aces to lead the way while Lily Carlow added two aces, two kills, five digs, and 12 service points. Nicole Coughlan (14 kills), Catherine Waldeck (10 kills, two blocks), and Ali McNamara (four kills) paced the KP attack. For Mansfield, Steph Walker had nine assists and Alina Nowakowski had seven kills.
