Canton, 60 @ Boston Latin, 46 – Final – Canton trailed after eight minutes of play but built a five-point lead at halftime, and doubled that going into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs qualified for the state tournament with the win. Junior Devin Foster had a team-high 21 points while senior Tony Harris had 18 points.
Boys Hockey
Foxboro, 1 @ Franklin, 6 – Final – Foxboro trailed by just two goals after two periods but Franklin put the game away with three third period goals. CJ Spillane, TJ Durkin, Dan Magazu, Shane McCaffrey, Joe Lizotte and Scott Elliot each scored once for the Panthers while Josh Bertumen scored for Foxboro in the second period.
Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip scored a pair of goals in the first period and had a quick response in the second after Taunton cut it to one to beat the Tigers. Sophomore Jack Coulter buried a rebound on a shot from freshman Rocco Bianculli just under five minutes into the game. Sophomore Joe Boselli doubled the lead five minutes later, firing a low shot after a feed from defenseman Mike Curtin. Taunton’s Will Walsh took a feed from Cam Sneyd, used his first touch to get past the defenseman and then used a nice move, finishing backhand to cut the deficit to 2-1 just two minutes into the second. But less than three minutes later, Curtin drove a hard slap shot through traffic to put KP up 3-1. Luke D’Amico added an empty net goal in the final minute. Taunton sophomore Sean Bunker played well in net with 32 saves while KP goalie Shane Frommer had 19 saves.
Oliver Ames, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames stole the momentum with a goal late in the first period and then capitalized on it with two second period goals to beat Mansfield. The Hornets scored first and last, but the Tigers had three straight between the first and second periods. Mansfield sophomore Kevin Belanger tallied his first career goal just over two minutes into the game, getting a tip on Tim Arnold’s shot. Oliver Ames’ Rory Madden tied the game with 30 seconds left in the opening frame, burying a rebound off a shot from Matt McCormack. Just over two minutes into the second, the Tigers took the lead when Brett Williams batted in a rebound off a shot from Ryan Gottwald, with Madden also notching an assist. Six minutes later, solid forechecking from Ross Carroll and Adam Lyons resulted in the puck squirting free to top of the circles where OA senior Michael Nikiciuk stepped into a slapshot for a 3-1 lead. Mansfield sophomore Joseph Troiano recorded his first career goal in the third period, taking a pass from Tyler Oakley before depositing his slap shot into the back of the net.
Girls Hockey
Canton, 5 vs. Dedham, 0 – Final – Canton’s Lauren Fitzpatrick recorded her 50th career point in the Bulldogs’ big win over Dedham.
Franklin, 1 vs. Westwood, 3 – Final
King Philip, 6 vs. Dover-Sherborn/Hopkinton, 0 – Final – King Philip scored three goals in each the first and second periods to build a big lead over DS/Hopkinton. Nicole Connor scored a pair of goals while Alli Meehan, Allie Wilson, and Katie Crowther each netted one goal apiece. Lilly Potts and Cristina Coleman combined for the shutout in goal.
Wrestling
Canton, 21 @ North Attleboro, 46 – Final – North Attleboro had success with the lower and upper weights in a division win over Canton, clinching at least a share of the Davenport title for the second straight year, and fourth league title overall. “The best part was our execution on our feet,” North head coach Wayne Griffin said. “The team’s take-downs are getting better and better along with other aspects of our wrestling.” Ethan Smith (106), Brady Folan (113), Adam Eberle (160), Brad White (195) and Matteus Kudra (220) had pins for North while Anis Chakir (132), Max Gallagher (138) and Cole Murphy (182) had pins for Canton.

Oliver Ames, 49 @ King Philip, 28 – Final – Oliver Ames picked up some momentum heading into the league championships on Saturday with a division win over King Philip. Remy Creighton (106), Greg Griffin (120), Chris Belleton (160), Jay Fruci (195) and Dean Pacini (220) all won by pins for the Tigers while Casey Bellevue (132) had a major win and Brandon Belleton (138) had a minor win.

King Philip, 127.90 @ Franklin, 133.15 – Final – Franklin junior Mia Lizotte won the All Around with a 35.75 while teammate Liz Traphagen took second with a 34.3 to help the Panthers beat King Philip. Franklin results: Vault – Lizotte 9.35, Traphagen 8.6, Lexi Lupien 8.3, Rachel Cyr 8.2; Bars – Lizotte 8.5, Sadie Rondeau 8.1, Traphagen 7.9, Katelyn Guidi 6.0; Beam – Lizzote/Traphagen 8.7, Rondeau 8.5, Lupien 7.9; Floor – Lizotte 9.2, Traphagen 9.1, Rondeau 8.3, Lupien 7.8.

#3 King Philip, 2 vs. #6 Duxbury, 1 – Final – King Philip scored once in each half and never trailed in a win over Duxbury, advancing to the D1 South Final. Alli Meehan put the hosts up 1-0 in the first half but Duxbury tied the game in the final seconds of the first half. Claire Lawler scored on a penalty corner in the 40th minute for the game-winner. KP head coach Liz Hathaway noted that goalie Abby Campbell (seven saves) and Sammy Robison played well defensively for the Warriors.

#2 King Philip, 5 vs. #7 Needham, 2 – Final – King Philip senior Liz Furfari scored a pair of goals inside the final five minutes of the first half create a two-goal cushion for the Warriors, a lead they never let up. Nicole Connor opened the scoring before Needham tied the game. In the second half, Raegan Simeone and Christina Hathaway added to the Warriors’ lead. Furfari also had a pair of assists in the win, Hathaway had one and Alli Meehan finished with two helpers. #2 King Philip advances to play #6 Duxbury in the D1 South Semifinal on Wednesday, at 7:00 at home. Duxbury beat #2 Walpole, 3-2, in overtime.
#4 Canton, 3 vs. #12 Barnstable, 2 – Final – Canton scored a pair of goals in the first ten minutes, but needed a late goal to break the tie and earn the win over Barnstable. Andrea McNeil put the Bulldogs up 1-0 and Maria Femia doubled the lead at the ten minute mark. Barnstable cut the deficit to one just before half, and then tied the game with 12 minutes to play. Sophomore Kaitlyn Goyetch scored the game-winner for the second straight game, converting a corner with five minutes to play. #4 Canton advances to play #1 Somerset-Berkley in the D1 South Semifinal on Wednesday, with a time to be announced.
Volleyball
D1 South
#4 North Attleboro, 3 vs. #5 Walpole, 1 – Final – North Attleboro opened its tournament run with a 25-10, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16 win over visiting Walpole. Amelia Murphy had a terrific night at the net, putting down 17 kills along with two blocks, plus three aces. Kezia De La Cruz added 12 kills and six aces and middle Tori Melanson had eight kills, six blocks and three aces in the win. #4 North Attleboro advances to play at #1 Barnstable on Wednesday, at 6:00.

Boys Soccer
Milford, 3 @ Canton, 4 – Final – Canton junior Paul Cocoran netted his second hat trick of the season, including a pair of goals in the second half that helped the Bulldogs build a three-goal lead. Milford opened the scoring when freshman Leo Coelho netted his first career goal but Canton responded with a pair of goals in a two-minute span. Corcoran tied the game in the 21st minute and Simon Cruz gave Canton the lead in the 22nd minute. Cocoran added goals in the 56th and 64th minutes to go up 4-1. Milford sophomore Jordan Borges made it a two-goal game in the 75th minute and sophomore Walisson de Oliveira brought the Hawks within one in the final minute.
King Philip, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – Final – King Philip scored four goals in the second half to break a tie game and pick up two points at home. Tyler Mann put the Warriors up 1-0 on an unassisted tally in the ninth minute. Feehan tied the game midway through the first half. Mann completed his hat trick with a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half, making it 2-1 in the 44th minute on a feed from Anthony Bozza and 3-1 just two minutes later on a feed from Connor Mullins. Thomas Lugten scored a pair of goals in a five-minute span, with junior Justin Willson and freshman Evan McEvoy picking up assists.
Stoughton, 2 vs. Norwood, 1 – Final – Tyler Melo and Fabio Ponce de Leon each had a goal for the Black Knights to earn Stoughton its first win of the season.

Stoughton, 3 @ Norwood, 4 – Final – Chinazo Odunze scored a pair of goals and Mackenzie Manning had a goal and an assist for the Black Knights. Brigid Pearl and Nicole Weir also had assists in the loss.

King Philip, 6 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – King Philip junior Alli Meehan recorded a hat trick to pace the Warriors on the road. Senior Christina Hathaway netted a pair of goals and Dana Truini scored once for King Philip.
Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final
Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 9 – Final – Sophia DiCenso led the way for the Warriors with a hat trick. Jackie Brion, Molly Murphy, Lily Daly, Annie Murphy, Lindsey Morris, and Lily Behn also scored for Foxboro.
Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin junior Anna Jardine had a strong game in net, making nine saves, including a gutsy slide tackle and a beautiful diving save – both in the second half – to help the Panthers preserve the win. Juniors Cassi Ronan and Regan Paterson each scored once in the first half for Franklin. FHS head coach Lisa Cropper said junior Annie Walsh played an outstanding game, creating numerous offensive chances and stopping OA from mounting an attack. Oliver Ames goalie Caitlin Grant made eight saves in net.
Mansfield, 1 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Senior Kya Enos netted a hat trick for the second straight game and junior goalie Emma Sheehan made 12 saves to help the Tigers earn an upset over visiting Taunton. Diana Brens had two assists while Liana Duarte had one helper in the win. THS coach Mike Fox praised the defensive play of Jillian Pagliuca, Jocelyn Pagliuca, and Kathryn Robinson.
Milford, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Stoughton’s Haley Apotheker scored a pair of goals to help the Black Knights defend its home field and earn a win over visiting Milford.
Volleyball
Canton, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Milford picked up a key division win at home, taking it 25-19, 25-18, 25-23. For Canton, Taylor Harris and Hannah Jerrier combined for 14 kills while head coach Pat Cawley praised the defensive play of Julia Minichiello.
Foxboro, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton earned a dominant win in the first game but had to orchestrate a comeback to win a close second game. The Black Knights completed the sweep with a convincing third game win, 25-5, 26-24, 25-10. Val Whalen took control in the first set, rattling off 16 service points, including six aces. Sophomore Mykiah Simpson paced the offense with five kills in the opening set. Whalen finished 16 kills, 18 digs, and eight aces while junior Molly Turner added 21 assists and six aces. Seniors Vicky Ramos and Haley Stone played well defensively for the Knights.
Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Franklin mounted a late comeback in the second half to help sweep the Tigers on the road. Junior Lauren McGrath (four aces) put the Franklin offense in motion with 30 assists while Meaghan Maguire had 10 kills and two blocks and Lauren Lockhart chipped in with eight kills. Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro earned the sweep, defeating Sharon 25-14, 25-20, 25-12. Seniors Amelia Murphy (13 kills) and Kezie De La Cruz (nine kills) led the Rocketeers to the win.
Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip defended home court with a convincing 25-14, 25-11, 25-14 win. Sydney Phillips led the way with 15 kills while Michaela Palumbo added four kills. Julianna Rando (eight digs) and Elise Pereira (seven digs) paced the Warriors’ defensive effort.
Golf
Taunton, 179 @ Attleboro, 174 – Final – Attleboro’s Kyle DelSignore eached match medalst honors with a low-round of 39 and was the difference between the Bombardiers and Tigers. The two teams matched on cards two, three and four – meaning DelSignore’s five-stroke win on the top card was the difference.
Canton, 157 @ Mansfield, 173 – Final – Canton sophomore Chris Lavoie fired a 36 at Norton Country Club, earning match medalist honors for the first time and helping the Bulldogs stay unbeaten. Danny Powers added a 39 for the Bulldogs while Brendan Loomer led Manfield with a round of 40.
Milford, 191 @ Foxboro, 178 – Final
Stoughton, 174 @ Oliver Ames, 139 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Mark Bissonette birdied the first two holes of play, finishing with a low-round of 33 to earn medalist honors. Ryan McGarry and Eric LeBlanc added rounds of 35 while Matt Kelley fired a 36 at Pine Oaks.

Canton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Liz Nuss opened the scoring on an assist from Hannah Stryke, but Canton scored three unanswered goals to earn the win. The Bulldogs tied the game before halftime and then added two in the second half.
Sharon, 0 @ Franklin, 12 – Final – Franklin freshman Natalie Stott scored her first two career goals to help the Panthers pick up a win. Senior Bella Trask notched her first points of the season with two assists and junior Emma Diphillipo recorded her first assist of the year.
North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip scored a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the second half, turning a one-goal game into a big lead. Christina Hathaway opened the scoring on a beautiful reverse sweep on a feed from Alli Meehan to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead at halftime. Meehan, Hathaway and Liz Furfari all scored in the second half to help King Philip pick up the win.

Stoughton, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton senior Kya Enos scored a hat trick, accounting for all of the scoring in the Tigers’ 3-0 win over visiting Stoughton. Enos opened the scoring just over seven minutes into the game and gave Taunton a 2-0 lead with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. Enos completed the hat trick with just under nine minutes to play.
Volleyball
King Philip, 3 @ Walpole, 0 – Final – King Philip avenged its lone loss of the reason, beating Walpole 26-24, 25-22, 25-22. Walpole beat the Warriors in the opening game of the season but since then, KP has rattled off 13 straight wins. Sydney Phillips paced the offense with 22 kills and eight digs, Michaela Palumbo added eight kills, and Julianne Rando finished with five digs and 10 service points, including two aces. Kat Kmetz added 11 service points and two kills and Olivia Atkins chipped in with eight digs.
Mansfield, 0 @ Brockton, 3 – Final – The Hornets fall on the road to Brockton, dropping a 23-25, 23-25, 18-25 decision to the Boxers. Meg Hill had nine kills, Julia Harrison had eight digs, and Katie Dardinski and Jolie O’Neil each finished with 10 service points.
Stoughton, 3 vs. Cardinal Spellman, 0 – Final – Stoughton’s Val Whalen paced the Black Knights’ offense with 14 kills while junior Molly Turner played well all around with 10 assists, 13 digs and five aces.

Stoughton, 184 @ Canton, 154 – Final – Canton clinched its first ever Davenport division title, and its first league title since 2002, with a win over visiting Stoughton. Bubba McNeice’s career-low round of 38 earned co-medalist honors with Joey Vaughan. Jack Goyetch, Chris Lavoie, Danny Powers and Thomas Singleton all shot 39 for the Bulldogs. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell had a team-low round of 40.
Mansfield, 169 @ Oliver Ames, 148 – Final – Oliver Ames junior Nolan Donze earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 35 to lead the Tigers past visiting Mansfield. With the win, OA clinches its second straight Kelley-Rex title and sixth straight league crown. Mark Bissonette carded a round of 37 while Tate Hadges and Ryan McGarry each fired a 38.
