Franklin, 42 @ Canton, 46 – Final – Canton held Franklin to its lowest scoring output of the season, limiting the Panthers to 30 points to three quarters. The Bulldogs trailed 30-26 heading into the final frame before winning the fourth 20-12. It marks Canton’s first win over Franklin in over a decade. “Beating a team like Franklin is a tall order,” Canton head coach Ryan Gordy said. “We needed to execute and play with mental toughness every possession. We grew up as a team tonight.” Canton junior Tony Harris scored a game-high 15 points and hauled in six rebounds while sophomore Devin Foster had 12 points and four rebounds.
Taunton, 73 @ Foxboro, 72 – Final (OT) – Taunton freshman Dante Law connected on six three pointers on his way to a career-high 21 points to help the Tigers edge Foxboro in overtime. Senior Tommy MacLean added 15 points for Taunton, who improves to 10-4. Foxboro junior Joe Morrison dropped a career-high 23 points while Jamaine Few added 15 points and Mark Clagg finished with 13 points.

Mansfield, 67 @ Sharon, 52 – Final – Mansfield junior Tyler Boulter broke a school record, connecting on 10 three pointers to net a career-high 30 points in the win over Sharon. Boulter, who scored 15 points in the first quarter, broke the record previously held by Brian Hershman (2011 vs. Stoughton) and David Borkowski (2009 vs. Franklin). Sam Goldberg added 10 points and eight rebounds while Ricardo Ripley led Sharon with 14 points.
Oliver Ames, 61 @ Milford, 56 – Final – Oliver Ames erased an early five point deficit to take a 18-12 lead after one quarter and never looked back to pick up the win on the road. Milford cut the deficit to five at half (31-26) but Oliver Ames won the third quarter 16-10 to build a double-digit lead. OA’s Jack Spillane led all scorers with 21 points while Carter Evin added 18 points and Nick Welch finished with 14 points. Zack Tamagni led Milford with 18 points while sophomore Brendan White dropped a career-high 14 points.

Canton, 30 @ Franklin, 54 – Final – Franklin had three players reach double figures in a double-digit win over visiting Canton. Carli Koffinke led all scorers with a game-high 16 points while Ali Brigham and Bea Bondhus each chipped in with 10 points in the win. Canton sophomore Julia Hamilton scored a team-high 11 points for the Bulldogs.
Foxboro, 56 @ Taunton, 33 – Final – Foxboro junior Ashley Sampson led the way for the Warriors with a team-high 17 points while classmate Grace Tamulionis added 16 points in the win on the road.
Stoughton, 59 @ King Philip, 54 – Final (OT) – Stoughton ramped up its defensive effort in overtime to pick up the win on the road. Stoughton junior Val Whalen had another monster night for the Black Knights, notching her fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Freshman Shyanne Trinh added 14 points for the Knights. Sophomore Julia Leroux scored a team-high 20 points to pace King Philip.
Sharon, 18 @ Mansfield, 65 – Final – For the second straight game, the Hornets held their opponent to under 20 points to earn a win at home. Offensively, the Hornets had a very efficient showing with junior Ann Maher going a perfect 8/8 from three point range in the first half – a school record – and junior Meg Hill scoring 14 points on 7/9 shooting.
Milford, 42 @ Oliver Ames, 58 – Final – Oliver Ames built a double-digit lead (30-18) by halftime and held onto it throughout the second half. OA junior Kayla Raymond had a game-high 24 points and hauled in 12 rebounds while Niyera Mitchell had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 3 @ Bellingham, 9 – Final – Stoughton’s Charlie Morgan and Ryan Buresh each scored their first varsity goal in the loss, while Brendan Campbell scored the other goal for the Black Knights.

Foxboro, 65 @ Attleboro, 90 – Final – Foxboro took first in the 50 free and the 400 free relay but fell to Attleboro. Foxboro’s Dan Egan took first in the 50 free (25:31) while the team of Dimitri Davis, Anthony Quarterone, Ben Dorman and Thomas VanDell took first in the 400 free relay (5:12.30).

Foxboro, 72 @ Attleboro, 92 – Final – Foxboro had three first place finishes, including one relay team. Lexi Nelson was first in the 100 fly (1:06.47), Lindsey Nelson was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.09) and the team of Nelson, Nelson, Allison Curran and Jamie Gorham took first in the 200 medley (2:13.84).

Stoughton, 65 @ Canton, 70 – Final – Sophomore Devin Foster paced the Bulldogs with 17 points and Tony Harris scored 15 points and pulled down nine boards, as Canton held off a “furious” rally by the Black Knights. Jake Verille scored a career-high 14 in the win. Cam Andrews had a game-high 24 points for Stoughton.

Christian Weber led the way for Mansfield with 17 points and Tyler Boulter added 15. Phil Vigeant (11 points) and Sam Goldberg (10) each reached double-digits for the Hornets.
Milford, 65 @ Sharon, 42 – Final – Zack Tamagni scored 22 points to lead the Hawks to the division win. Anthony Arcudi added 15 points and Kayden Kelly scored eight points and pulled in 18 rebounds. Sharon was led by Jimmy Fitzhenry with 11 points.

Canton, 41 @ Stoughton, 54 – Final – Val Whalen had another strong game for the Black Knights, scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Freshman Aliyah Wright added 10 points for Stoughton. Hannah Jerrier had a team-high 11 points for the Bulldogs.
Foxboro, 47 @ North Attleboro, 53 – Final – Ashley Ahern had a team-high 16 points for the second straight game to help North Attleboro take a two-game lead on the Warriors in the Davenport division. Samantha Taggart also scored 16 for North. Ashley Sampson had a game-high 21 for the Warriors and Lauren Flahive added nine fourth quarter points and pulled in nine rebounds in the loss that ended a six-game win streak for Foxboro.
Franklin, 67 @ King Philip, 36 – Final – Kate Morse was the top scorer for the Panthers with 15 points. Megan O’Connell added 11 for Franklin, while Ali Brigham and Erin Skidmore each scored 10 and Carli Koffinke had nine points. KP was led by Shannon O’Connor with 14.

Sharon, 37 @ Milford, 48 – Final – The Eagles battled back to cut the lead to eight points in the fourth quarter, but Milford’s Kate Irwin scored eight of her 15 points in the quarter, including 5-of-6 from the line, to seal the win for the Hawks. Emma Eberhardt led the Eagles with a team-high 13 points and pulled in 12 rebounds, while Shira Stoller scored eight and grabbed seven rebounds.

Stoughton, 1 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final – P.J. Elliott scored a power play goal in the second period that turned out to be the game-winner. Jake Parker had the other goal for Attleboro. Ryan Chipman had the Stoughton goal. All three of the game’s goals were scored in the second period.
Wrestling
Masconomet Quad (Oliver Ames) – Oliver Ames went 1-2 on the day, beating Burlington 47-24 but falling to Arlington (37-31) and to Masconomet (40-39). Anthony Berksza (145), Jay Fruci (220) and Dean Pacini (195) each went 3-0 on the day for the Tigers.

Zach Tamagni led the way with 22 points for the Scarlet Hawks while Shane Cosquete added 13 points and junior Kayden Kelley had 10 points and 19 rebounds. Canton junior Tony Harris had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Devin Foster chipped in with nine points.
Foxboro, 43 @ Stoughton, 52 – Final – Stoughton hit four of its seven three pointers in the final quarter to pull away from the Warriors. Matt Valle (16 points) hit three trifectas in the frame while Colin Sanda also hit one as the Black Knights won the fourth quarter 20-15. Foxboro’s Joe Morrison scored a team-high 15 points while Jamaine Few added 13 points for the Warriors.
Franklin, 55 @ Taunton, 42 – Final – Taunton turned a second half deficit (25-17) into a third quarter lead (27-25) but Franklin rattled off a 10-4 run to close the quarter and never looked back. Junior Connor Peterson led the way for the Panthers with 21 points while Paul Mahon added 12 points and Jalen Samuels chipped in with 11 points.

Stoughton, 29 @ Foxboro, 72 – Final – Lily Sykes led the way for the Warriors with 19 points and Ashley Sampson chipped in with 16. Grace Tamulionis added 10 points for Foxboro. Stoughton junior Val Whalen registered 17 points and eight rebounds for the Black Knights.
Taunton, 21 @ Franklin, 63 – Final – Ali Brigham was the top scorer for the Panthers with 13 points. Franklin also got 11 points from Kate Morse and nine points from Bea Bondhus.

Girls
Foxboro, 80 @ Sharon, 90 – Final – Emma Bridges came in first place in four separate events and qualified for both sectionals and states in one of them but the Warriors fell short to Sharon. Bridges qualified for states by winning the 200IM in 2:24.35. She also finished first in the 100 fly, the 200 medley relay (with Allison Curran, Lexi Nelson and Lindsey Nelson) and the 400 free relay (with Curran, Nelson and Nelson as well). Lindsey Nelson also won the 100 breaststroke.

The Warriors won the fourth quarter 16-9. Junior Joe Morrison scored a career-high 19 points and was named to the all-tournament team. Jamaine Few chipped in with 13 points while junior Matt Rongione added a career-high 12 points.
Mansfield, 75 vs. Everglades (FL), 56 – Final
North Attleboro, 51 @ Bishop Feehan, 56 – Final – Trailing by 12 with four minutes to play, the Rocketeers cut into the Shamrocks’ lead to get within four in the final minute but couldn’t complete the comeback. Brent Doherty scored 10 of his team-high 12 points in the second half while Thomas Reynolds and Jonny Friberg each had 11 points.

Attleboro, 63 vs. Brockton, 55 – Final – Sarah Deyo scored 22 points and pulled down 23 rebounds for the Bombardiers, who took control in the third quarter after trailing by two at the half. Julia Strachan added 18 and Sam Pierce had 14 for Attleboro.
North Attleboro, 46 @ Hingham, 34 – Final – North Attleboro claimed its second straight impressive win, knocking off host Hingham in the final of the Hingham Holiday Tournament. The Rocketeers have won three straight games against MIAA D2 South Semifinalists from a year ago – Oliver Ames, Westwood and Hingham. Ashley Ahern scored 14 points and was named the tournament MVP. Samantha Taggart dropped a season-high 17 points to lead Big Red and was named to the all-tournament team along with Caroline Collard.
Sharon, 50 @ North Quincy, 54 – Final – Sophomore Emma Eberhardt paced Sharon with 18 points while junior Shira Stoller hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds.

Taunton, 12 vs. Apponequet/Connolly, 1 – Final – Jordan Hoey and Zack Albert each recorded five points as the Tigers ended 2016 on a high note. Hoey had a hat trick and two assists while Albert scored once and had four helpers. Nick Terry scored once and had three assists, Cam Welby scored twice and Cam Carnes and Jaden Weyant each had a goal and an assist. Josh Denham, Cam Sneyd and Owen Ross each scored once in the win.

BC High Team Duals (Oliver Ames) – Oliver Ames went a perfect 4-0 to at the BC High New Years Duals. The Tigers beat Silver Lake (58-15), New Bedford (72-12), Josiah Quincy (54-13) and Chicopee Comp (48-27). Liston Funai (132) and Eric Berardi (152) both went a perfect 4-0 on the day with four pins apiece. Brandon Belleton (138) also went 4-0, Cobey Williamson (120) went 3-0 with three opins and sophomore Anthony Berksza (145) was 3-0 with a pair of pins.

Milford, 59 vs. Waltham, 46 – Final – Milford senior Zack Tamagni led the Scarlet Hawks with 18 points while classmate Nate Davila added 17 points in the win. Milford wins the second annual Scarlet Hawks Classic.
Oliver Ames, 56 vs. Cardinal Spellman, 74 – Final – Oliver Ames was within five at halftime (36-31) but Spellman pulled away in the second half. Jack Spillane led OA with 15 points while Dylan Mahoney added 14 points and Carter Evin chipped in with 13 points.

Foxboro, 64 @ Hopkinton, 88 – Final – Foxboro won a pair of relays and individual events but fell short to Hopkinton. Kevin Decker came in first in the 100 backstroke while Anthony Quarterone was second and Kristian Anderson touched the wall third. Johnmichael Boucher was first in the 100 breaststroke with James Donoghue coming in second and Andersen taking third. The 200 free relay team of Andersen, Jared Roke, Joshua Sitte and Anirudhha Gubbala finished first while the 400 free relay team of Boucher, Donoghue, Shawn McNamara and Dan Egan came in first.

The Bombardiers held Sharon to just 12 points in the second half to earn their fourth win of the season. Jake Dunkley led Attleboro with 15 points. Ricardo Ripley scored a career-high 21 points for the Eagles.

Foxboro’s Andrew Block had a team-high 14 points while Mark Clagg scored 12 points, Joe Morrison had 10 points and Joe Bartucca finished with eight points.

The Hornets outscored the Black Knights 21-4 in the second quarter and held a 37-14 lead at the break. Tyler Boulter and Sam Goldberg (six rebounds) each had 13 points while Phil Vigeant added 11 points, with a team-high three three-point field goals. Stoughton senior Izon Swain-Price netted a team-high 11 points.

Carter Evin and Jack Spillane each had 16 points for the Tigers while Dylan Mahoney added 14 points. Brent Doherty led Big Red with 14 points while Jonny Friberg added 11 points.

Meg Hill led the way for Mansfield with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Jen Peel added 14 points, five assists and three steals for the Hornets. Stoughton freshman Shyanne Trinh had a team-high 16 points for the Black Knights while Val Whalen had nine points and eight rebounds.
Taunton, 39 @ Milford, 52 – Final – Kate Irwin paced the Hawks with 22 points and Jill Burley added 15 in the win. Milford trailed 32-25 at halftime but took control with an 18-2 run in the third quarter and allowed only seven points in the second half.
Oliver Ames, 45 @ North Attleboro, 46 – Final – The Rocketeers avenged a one-point loss in last year’s playoffs by edging the Tigers in a game that had “playoff-like atmosphere.” Ashley Ahern was top scorer for North with 15 points and Kayla Raymond led OA with 21.
Gymnastics
Attleboro, 136.6 @ Franklin, 126 – Final – Attleboro’s Emma Humphrey (36.7) scored a 9.4 on bars, a 9.4 on floor, 9.0 on the vault and 8.9 on beam to lead the Bombardiers to the win. Franklin sophomore Mia Lizotte was not far behind at 36.3, scoring 9.2 on floor, vault and beam and 8.7 on bars.
