Canton, 59 vs. Southeastern, 46 – FinalCanton had its double-digit halftime lead shrink to seven going into the final quarter, but the Bulldogs held Southeastern to nine points in the final quarter to pull away for the win. Senior Lanse Dorcelus matched a career-high with 27 points, helping Canton establish a 36-23 lead at halftime by scoring 17 points in the first half. Dillon Nguyen (nine points) and Nate Mei (seven points) hit three-pointers in the fourth to keep Canton ahead.

Franklin, 86 vs. New Bedford, 60 – FinalFranklin poured in 22 points in the second quarter and then 28 more in the third to score a blowout win over visiting New Bedford. Justin Allen (nine points), Will Tracey, and Sean Vinson (12 points) all hit threes in the second quarter to help turn Franklin’s lead after one quarter (18-10) into a 40-28 advantage going into halftime. Sophomore Henry Digiorgio scored 10 of his team-high 15 points in the third while sophomores Bradley Herndon and Sean O’Leary (13 points) each hit threes to extend the Panthers’ edge to 68-50 going into the final quarter. Evan DaSilva hit a pair of threes in the fourth and finished with 11 points to help the hosts pull away.

Mansfield, 65 @ King Philip, 35 – FinalMansfield opened the game with a big run and never let its foot off the gas pedal on its way to a comfortable win on the road at King Philip. The Hornets turned their 16-7 lead at the end of the first into a 39-14 advantage going into halftime. Senior Matt Hyland scored 16 points and hauled in 20 rebounds while junior Chris Hill also recorded 16 points.

Canton, 2 @ Sandwich, 0 – FinalAnna Lehan and Tess Khoury scored goals and Carolyn Durand picked up the shutout in goal, as Canton earned a huge win over previously undefeated Sandwich at Gallo Arena.

Canton, 2 @ King Philip, 1 – FinalA pair of Canton juniors accounted for the scoring and another helped secure with the win with key saves down the stretch. Ellie Bohane and Audrey Koen each found the back of the net as the Bulldogs built a 2-0 lead. Morgan Cunningham cut the deficit in half with a goal for the Warriors but Canton goalie Carolyn Durand, in her second game back from injury, denied KP the tying goal to secure the two points. KP junior Mallory Johnston made 23 saves for the Warriors.

Tuesday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 10/12/21

Boys Soccer
Canton, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalCanton’s Erik Valdovinos set up the first goal and scored the game-winner as the Bulldogs claimed a big two points on the road against Attleboro. Valdovinos’ speed was on full display as he used it to get around a defender down the left side before a centering pass found Jake McCabe for a shot from close range to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage in the 9th minute. In the 67th minute, Colton Mirliani launched a clearance behind the defense and Valdovinos used his speed to track it down and beat the keeper to make it 2-0. Just over a minute later, Thomas Russo played a ball through the defense and Liam Bischoff was first to it and slid it past the oncoming keeper to make it 2-1.

North Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro sophomore Carson Dameron liked his first career goal so much, he decided to replicate it. Dameron opened his account with the lone goal in North’s win over KP just under a month ago by forcing a turnover and scoring on a breakaway. He was at it again on Tuesday night, once again pressing high to force a turnover and turned that into a goal with 10 minutes to play.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalOliver Ames freshman Andrew Martins scored his first career goal to lift the Tigers to a win over Mansfield in a battle of division leaders. Mansfield goalie Jack Lasbury-Casey saved a penalty kick with 15 minutes to play to keep the game scoreless but Martins scored off a pass from Mathias Taylor just minutes later for the lone goal of the game.

Stoughton, 2 @ Milford, 4 – FinalMilford scored a pair of goals in each half to knock off the visiting Knights. John Borges scored a pair of goals for the Hawks, opening the scoring on a feed from Eduardo Santana and then capping the scoring with a key insurance goal on a pass from Artur Tome. Tome also set up Bill Silva to make it 2-0 before Stoughton’s Rhuan Carvalho responded to cut the deficit in half. Tome then scored himself assisted by Chris Martinez for a 3-1 before Stoughton senior Wenderson Silva de Souza scored to make it a one-goal game.

Girls Soccer
Taunton @ Foxboro, 3:45

King Philip, 3 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalHeidi Lawrence scored twice and Dani Lomsucio had a goal and an assist to help the Warriors get back on track and moved KP within two points of first-place Franklin. Lawrence opened the scoring by finishing off a Lomuscio through ball and then Lomuscio added a second with a 25-yard shot off an assist by Morgan Norrman. Lawrence again ran onto a through ball, this time from Ella Pisani, to round out the scoring before halftime. For North Attleboro, Brayden Rice scored on a header off a corner kick from Emma Pratt. Haley Sinacola, Autumn Hewitt, and Steph McKenna all played well for the Rocketeers.

Milford, 3 @ Stoughton, 8 – FinalFreshman Makenzie O’Connor scored four times and recorded five points to power the Black Knights to a second straight win. Stoughton found itself down 2-0 after six minutes but found a quick response when Bianca Casna flicked home a Samantha Tran corner in the ninth minute. After Sivannah Marcy drew a penalty, Emma Tran finished the chance to tie the game. Isabella Rodrigues played a nice pass to find O’Connor behind the defense for her first goal to put Stoughton in front and O’Connor’s curling pass picked out Morgan Cook for a shot to the top corner to make it 4-2 at the break. Cook assisted on Casna’s second goal of the day to extend the lead to three just minutes into the second half. After O’Connor snagged her brace (from another Rodrigues assist), Milford grabbed its third of the game. Lauren Mitchel set up O’Connor for her first career hat trick and then slipped a shot through the goalie to complete the scoring. Freshman Emma Byrne had the final assist. Shayla Ford played well in the defensive third, having moved back after Milford’s second goal, and Katrina Varnum had a solid game in goal for the Black Knights.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – FinalClick here for a Photo Gallery from this game. The Bulldogs scored once in each of the final three quarters and won for the ninth straight time. Canton has allowed only one goal during that win streak. Ellie Bohane got the scoring started with a blast in the second quarter and then assisted on a Sarah Cunningham goal on a third quarter corner. Audrey Koen added the third goal in the final quarter and Carolyn Durand picked up the shutout in goal.

Taunton, 1 @ Foxboro, 4 – FinalTaunton’s goal came off the stick of Braeley MacDonald on an assist from Kaysie DeMoura.

Franklin, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalFranklin bounced back from its first loss of the season, a tough 1-0 decision to Walpole, with a big win on the grass at Sharon. Kaitlyn Carney scored a pair of goals — once in the first and once in the third — to lead the offense. Kaeley Dubriske, Haley Wernig, Raena Crandall, Caroline Gannon, and Lindsey Dennett each scored once for the Panthers. Megan Sullivan and Chloe Strassner split the shutout in net.

King Philip, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalKing Philip and North Attleboro battled to a scoreless draw at Beaupre Field. Junior Haley Bright made six saves in net for the Warriors to record the shutout while senior Molly Piller also denied the Rocketeers a goal to keep the hosts scoreless.

Milford, 1 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton picked up its second straight win, this time against visiting Milford. Three different Black Knights scored in the win with Ella Anderson, Carly Sanda and Zofia Bangs each finding the back of the net.

The Panthers took three straight (25-16, 25-9, 25-9) to get the win; sophomore Taylor Lacerda recorded 11 kills, six digs, and a pair of aces to lead the way.

King Philip, 3 @ North Attleboro, 0 – FinalKing Philip stayed unbeaten on the season with a clean sweep (25-11, 25-9, 25-10) over the Rocketeers. Sami Shore put down 16 kills to go along with three aces and two blocks, Ahunna James and Emily Sawyer each added eight kills, and Samantha Asprelli chipped in with 11 digs defensively.

Mansfield, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalAfter dropping a close first set, Oliver Ames rallied to win three straight to take the match, 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-21). Sophomore Sarah Hilliard had the best game of her young career, putting down 24 kills to go along with 10 digs and six aces. Senior Hadley Rhodes added 27 assists and seven kills, junior Maddie Homer notched 36 digs, and junior Courtney Raymond added seven kills and four aces. For Mansfield, Julia Kelly notched six aces, five kills, and nine digs, Nicole Santos added seven kills, three blocks, and two aces, Elyssa Buchanan chipped in with 10 kills, and Christina Lydon (19) and Izzy Flint (9) combined for 28 assists.

North Attleboro, 164 @ Canton, 142 – FinalCanton clinched its fifth straight Davenport division title with a win at home over visiting North Attleboro. Seniors Will Gefteas and Mike Leonetti shared match medalist honors, each coming in with a round of 35. Senior Nate MacDonald and sophomore Mekhala Costello both shot a 36 to round out the scoring for the Bulldogs. Jake Gaskin led the way for North with a team-low round of 37, Tyson Laviano and Ishan Kohli each shot a 42, and Dillon Harding came in at 43.

Oliver Ames, 159 @ Milford, 178 – FinalOliver Ames returned home from Hopedale Country Club with a win over host Milford. Senior captain Jake Kaplan fired a medalist round of 38 to lead the way for the Tigers. Senior Jo Jo Gaultier and Sean Kearns each shot a 39 in the win while senior Daniel Paul carded a 43. Anthony LaPierre led the hosts with a 39 while Nate Lawrence added a 41 for the Hawks.

King Philip, 158 @ Milford, 178 – FinalKing Philip’s Pat Reardon birdied the seventh hole and the Warriors picked up a win on the road at Hopedale Country Club. Reardon earned match medalist honors with a 37, helping King Philip clinch at least a share of the Kelley-Rex division title. Jared Curran added a 39 in the win, Gavin Croke shot a 40, and Mike Matheson came in at 42. Anthony LaPierre led the hosts with a 39 while Nate Lawrence added a 41 for the Hawks.

Taunton, 23 @ Mansfield, 32 – FinalTaunton had four of the top six runners and five of the top eight in a win over Mansfield. The win clinches the Kelley-Rex division title for the first time in program history as the Tigers finished the dual meet season at 5-0. Sophomore Brayden Cali won the race in 17:13 while classmate Andrew Cali was third overall just four seconds later. Junior Sam Dennis (17:30) took fifth, senior Ryan Strawbridge (17:43) was sixth, and freshman Cam Dorr (18:36) crossed the finish line eighth overall. For Mansfield, Chris Leonard was second overall in 17:15 while Collin Stevens took fourth in 17:29.

Taunton, 27 @ Mansfield, 28 – FinalTaunton and Mansfield split the top 10 but a 2-3 finish from freshmen Colby Dunham and Emersyn DePonte helped give the Tigers the edge. It marked the first time that Taunton beat Mansfield since joining the Hock nearly a decade ago and it also gave Taunton its third win of the dual meet, its best record in program history. Dunham clocked in at 20:59 for second overall while DePonte crossed in 21:02 for third overall. Juniors Kiley Quinlan (22:33) and Phylicia Dias (23:28) took fifth and seventh, respectively, while eighth grader Tori Corrao was 10th in 25:11. Mansfield sophomore Anna Moore won the race in 20:40, senior Megan Johnston took fourth (22:13), senior Alanna Conley was sixth (23:14), senior Sophia Allen took eighth (23:43), and junior Elizabeth Heavey was ninth (23:58).

Boys Soccer
Franklin, 1 @ Attleboro, 2 – FinalEsvin Morales set up the tying goal and scored the game-winner just minutes later as the Bombardiers rallied to take a win over Franklin. With the win, Attleboro moves into a first place tie in the Kelley-Rex division with Mansfield. Franklin opened the scoring just before the half hour mark. Tyler Powderly used his speed to get down the right wing and play in a cross. The initial ball was cleared but only as far as junior Max Tobin, who one-timed it into the top corner to put the visitors ahead. Attleboro’s best chance of the first half came in the 17th minute when senior Yianni Skordas forced a turnover and pushed forward, centering to Morales. Morales cut back to evade a defender and the keeper but his shot on goal was denied by Franklin senior midfielder Terry O’Neill. In the second half, Cashel Stuger played the ball to Morales, who turned and played a ball over the top of the defense and sophomore Alex Vecchioli finished the half volley from a step inside the area to bring the hosts level. Four minutes later, after Franklin was whistled for a handball, Morales stepped over the ball and placed a shot on frame while the Panthers were setting up the wall and it just beat the diving keeper for the game-winner.

Milford, 2 vs. Hopedale, 0 – FinalMilford scored a pair of second half goals to earn a win over local rival Hopedale. John Borges had two assists for the Scarlet Hawks, setting up both goals. First, Borges found Eduardo Santana to put the hosts in front and then Borges assisted on a goal from Chris Tocci.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalSenior Riley Fitzpatrick scored a pair of goals to lead the Panthers to a win at home over the visiting Bombardiers. Fitzpatrick had a beautiful header off a free kick from Norah Anderson and scored her other goal off a pass from Anya Zub. Zub had two assists in the win, setting up senior Stella Regan for the other Franklin goal.

Foxboro, 1 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – Final

Sharon, 4 @ Milford, 5 – FinalDani Atherton had a hat trick and an assist to lead Milford to a wild win over Sharon. It was Milford’s second win in the past three days. Paige Caldon added her second goal in as many games and Cailyn Paccico had one for the Hawks. The Eagles got two goals apiece from Wendy Wooden and Carly Pinnix. Olivia Soby had two assists and Sofia Goclowski had one for Sharon and Amber Marcus-Blank played well defensively.




Field Hockey
Attleboro, 5 @ Mansfield, 1 – FinalMadison Ellis scored a hat trick to pace the Bombardiers to a big win on the road over Mansfield. Attleboro recevied a great defensive effort from Trinity Harrison and the Bombardiers transitioned from defense to offense smoothly due to the strong play of Jordan Croteau. Olivia Hillman had a strong game on the right side for the visitors and scored once.

Foxboro, 0 @ Canton, 1 – FinalCanton’s Ellie Bohane scored late in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs a win over Foxboro, stretching their unbeaten streak to eight. Bohane converted a pass from Sierra Abbott for the lone goal of the game while Carolyn Durand made key saves down the stretch to preserve the shutout.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalFour different players found the back of the net, two from each team, and Oliver Ames and North Attleboro split the two points in a 2-2 draw. Tyla Delamere and Georgia Costello each scored for the Tigers while Julia Maclaine and Costello each had an assists. Caroline Rolan (from Emily Burnham) and Zoe McKeon scored for the Rocketeers.

Sharon, 0 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalZofia Bangs scored the lone goal of the game as Stoughton picked up a win on Senior Night.

Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalMansfield earned a key division win in the form of a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-5, 25-15) over the visiting Bombardiers of Attleboro. Julia Kelly had a big game with 11 kills, five aces, and a pair of digs, Nicole Santos added seven aces and four kills, Lexie Scibilia chipped in with three kills, three blocks, and a pair of aces, and Christina Lydon and Izzy Flint combined for 21 assists. For Attleboro, Julia Leonardo recorded eight kills while Brianna Frissora had a great game at the net.

Foxboro, 0 @ Canton, 3 – Final Canton bounced back from a tough five-set loss to Westwood with a clean 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-17, 25-22) over visiting Foxboro. Jess Wright continued to lead the offense for the Bulldogs with 12 kills and added eight digs. Taylor Reynold dished out 22 assists to go with six aces, Syd Gallery added five kills and two aces, and Anna Verille continued to shine defensively with 15 digs and two kills.

Sami Shore, Ahunna James, and Emily Sawyer all played well at the net for KP in the comeback win while Samantha Asprelli and Gianna DeLorenzo anchored the back row in the win. Sofia Riedel had a big day at the service line for KP with 11 service points and three aces. For Franklin, Brigid Earley (two blocks) and Taylor Lacerda (22 digs) each had 14 kills while Lindsey Tarantola added nine kills and eight blocks.

Milford, 3 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalIn an incredibly close match, Milford prevailed with a 3-2 win (27-25, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 15-11). For Taunton, Hayley Krockta and Mikayla Cleary each had 11 kills while Anna Abouzeid dished out 28 assists.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalIn a match tighter than the final score shows, North Attleboro secured an important 3-0 win (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) win over Oliver Ames. For the Tigers, junior Maddie Homer recorded 25 digs, senior Hadley Rhodes dished out 26 assists to go along with five kills, sophomore Sarah Hilliard added 14 kills and 10 digs, and sophomore Claire O’Rourke chipped in with eight kills and three aces.

Golf
Attleboro vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 2:30

Foxboro, 157 @ Oliver Ames, 152 – FinalOliver Ames earned its 10th win of the season by taking down Foxboro in a close match at Pine Oaks. Senior captain Jake Kaplan shot a medalist round of 35 to lead the way for the Tigers. Junior Michael McGinnis and sophomore Aden Ashley each shot a 39 to count for the scoring for the first time in their careers. Sophomore Lucas Riley and junior Daniel Paul both added a 40 in the win.

Sharon, 171 @ Canton, 147 – FinalSophomore Mekhala Costello capped a tremendous week with another medalist round, this time a one-over par round of 35 to lead the Bulldogs to a big win at home over Sharon. Eric Carter led the way for Sharon with a round of 41, Owen Kevorkian added a 42, and Nathan Daley, Noah Glassman, and James Spoto all shot a 44 for the Eagles.

Taunton, 0 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalMansfield built a 2-0 lead by halftime and then doubled its advantage inside a five-minute span in the second half to land a big win over visiting Taunton. Danny Rowe, Andrew Bain, Dan Checkoway, and Matt Hyland all scored, getting on the end of a service into the area. Rowe opened the scoring off of a feed from Hyland in the 12th minute, and then Hyland set up Bain off a throw-in from Michael Caridi in the 28th minute. Checkoway scored the first goal of the second half on a cross from Bain, and Hyland made it 4-0 four minutes later on another service from Bain. Jack Lasbury-Casey recorded the shutout with eight saves.

Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 7 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalTarynn Smith recorded a brace for the third time in a week and helped Mansfield to its fourth straight win. Katie Miller, Avery Hawthorne, Carly Devine, Kara Santos, and Aniela Diieso (first varsity goal) also found the back of the net for the Hornets. Abby Jean had a pair of assists.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 9 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final

King Philip, 0 @ Canton, 1 – FinalCanton scored midway through the first half and the Bulldogs turned in one of their best defensive performances of the season to knock off King Philip. Carolyn Durand posted the shutout in net while senior Carly Fitzgerald, Junior Sierra Abbott, and Sophomore Laura Valkanas all played well defensively. Sarah Cunningham finished off a pass from Erin Lane for the lone goal of the game.

Franklin, 6 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalFranklin found the back of the cage three times in each half to pick up a win on the road in Foxboro. The Panthers built a 2-0 lead in the first quarter with goals from Raena Crandall and Shaw Downing (from Crandall), and extended the advantage to 3-0 on a goal from Kaitlyn Carney (from Ella Mahoney) midway through the second quarter. Payten Crandall, Haley Wernig, and Downing all scored goals in the second half.

Mansfield, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Milford @ North Attleboro, 6:00

Taunton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – FinalOliver Ames’ Georgia Costello scored twice and added an assist as the host Tigers took care of business against visiting Taunton. Erin Cottam opened the scoring in the first quarter for OA, who scored once in each quarter, with Lily Gaskill on the assist. Costello tacked on an unassisted goal int he second and then set up Gaskill for a goal in the third. Costello made it 4-1 by scoring in the fourth on a pass from Cottam. Sophomore Casey O’Leary scored for Taunton with an assist from senior Braeley MacDonald.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalAttleboro picked up its sixth win of the season after taking a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-21, 25-15) on the road at Stoughton. Freshman Julia Leonardo led the way for the Bombardiers with 11 kills and four aces while Brianna Frissora had a standout game at the net. Lilly Boedeker anchored the defense for the visitors.

Franklin, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalFranklin rolled to its seventh win of the season, this time in the form a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-20, 25-6) win on the road at Foxboro. The Panthers, which have only dropped one set all year, were led by Lindsey Tarantola, who had 10 kills and three blocks in the win.

Sophomore Sarah Hilliard led the charge for the host Tigers with a strong all-around game with 10 kills, 12 serve receptions, and 16 digs. Senior Hadley Rhodes added 18 assists and four kills, junior Maddie Homer notched 22 digs, and sophomore Claire O’Rourke recorded nine kills.




Boys Cross-Country
King Philip, 27 @ Mansfield, 28 – FinalMansfield had the top two runners but King Philip’s depth was on display by taking third, fourth, fifth, seventh, and eighth to edge out the Hornets. Chris Leonard was first overall (17:46) with teammate Collin Stevens (17:47) finishing second.

Attleboro, 157 @ North Attleboro, 158 – FinalAfter losing its last two matches by a combined three strokes, Attleboro ended on the right side of a close match with a win over rival North Attleboro at Heather Hill. Leo Lombardo led the way for the Bombardiers with a team-low round of 37, Carter Shelton added a 39, and Brendan Raymond and Parker Sackett each shot 41 in the win. Tyson Laviano was the match medalist with a low-round of 36, Aaron Levesque came in with a 40, Jake Gaskin added a 41, and Dillon Harding shot a 42 for the Rocketeers.

Foxboro, 158 @ Stoughton, 188 – Final – Foxboro’s Jack Rounds fired a medalist round of 38 and the Warriors went on the road and picked up a win at Easton County Club. Jack Watts added a 39 for Foxboro, Dylan Pothier added a 40, and Matt Fossella finished with a 41 in the win. Joseph Rush shot a team-low round of 44 for the Black Knights.

Canton, 154 @ Sharon, 173 – FinalMike Leonetti was the match medalist for the Bulldogs and Canton stayed undefeated with a win on the road at the Cape Club of Sharon. Leonetti’s low-round of 37 led the way while Mekhala Costello added a 38, Will Gefteas shot a 39, and Conor Hunter came in with a 40. Nathan Daley paced the Eagles with a 40, Eric Carer and Noah Glassman each shot a 44, and Rosie Leonard chipped in with a 45.

Taunton, 197 @ Mansfield, 164 – FinalIn the front end of a home-and-home matchup with Taunton, the Hornets secured a win at Norton Country Club over the Tigers. Hunter Tang was the match medalist with a round of 39, Cian Goulet added a 40 for the Hornets, Ryan Doherty chipped in with a 42, and Brendan Vokey added a 43.

Milford, 175 @ Franklin, 165 – FinalJunior Jack Hagerty birded on the seventh hole to help earn medalist honors and help the Panthers take care of Milford at Franklin Country Club. Hagerty finished with a low-round of 39 while sophomores CJ Steel and Brendan Collins, along with freshman Ben Paterson, all came in at 42. Nate Lawrence led Milford with a round of 40.
