Milford, 2 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Milford junior Walisson de Oliveira scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner with under 10 minutes to go, to lift the Hawks to a win on the road. de Oliveira opened the scoring off an assist from Anthony Salvador but Franklin freshman Terry O’Neill tied the game just before halftime. de Oliveira scored the unassisted game-winner with seven minutes to play.

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – King Philip sophomore Camron Lawrence bagged a brace to lead the Warriors to their first win of the season. After Zac White drew a foul at the top of the box, Lawrence placed his shot back post to put KP up 1-0. With Sharon pushing numbers late to tie it, KP intercepted a pass and Lawrence was able to place a shot into the empty net to seal the deal in the 78th minute.

Mansfield, 4 vs. Dartmouth, 1 – Final – Mansfield senior Luke Savoie scored a hat trick for the second straight game as the Hornets dispatched of visiting Dartmouth. Junior Owen Mullahy opened the scoring for the Hornets just two minutes into the game, finishing off a free kick from Derek Meuth. The Hornets doubled their lead when Savoie scored off a long throw from Cam Eddy. Dartmouth cut the deficit to one at half but Mansfield added two more in the second half. Savoie headed in a feed from Ethan Brill-Cass and completed the hat trick with seven minutes to go, scoring off Tommy Lanzillo’s free kick. Anthony Salisbury made 11 saves in net for Mansfield.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro jumped ahead just before the midway point of the first half but Taunton found the equalizer in the 66th minute to earn a point. Gerson Bonilla cleaned up a rebound in the 18th minute to put the Rocketeers up. Joe Hilf’s header was denied on a terrific save by Taunton goalie Nolan Melo but Bonilla buried his chance. In the 66th minute, Taunton’s Colby Fernandes took advantage of a turnover and used a volley to bring the Tigers level. Kyle Briere made three saves for North Attleboro.

Girls Soccer
Franklin, 4 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Erin Quaile, Calen Frongillo, Carly Alston, and Sydney St. Marie each scored in the first half to put Franklin in control of its season opener. Grace Gallo and Halle Atkinson each had assists in the win.

King Philip, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Chloe Layne opened her account for the season and finished with a hat trick, while Avery Snead scored two and assisted on two others, as KP got its first win of the season. Makayla Griffin added a goal and two assists and Lauren Anderson had a pair of assists in the win. Sophia McLaughlin earned the clean sheet in net. KP finished with 17 shots in the game.

Field Hockey
Foxboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 12 – Final – King Philip opened its season with a big win at home over visiting Sharon. Senior Alli Meehan had four goals and three assists, freshman Meghan MacDonald netted a hat trick and added two assists and Olivia Kulesza scored three goals for the Warriors.

Volleyball
Foxboro, 1 @ Tri-County, 3 – Final

Sharon, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip began its 2018 season with a 3-0 sweep of Sharon (25-17, 25-12, 25-14). Catherine Waldeck had 10 kills for the Warriors while Nicole Coughlan added four kills and three aces. Kat Kmetz finished with three kills, three aces, and 18 service points and Grace Ely added three aces, three kills, and six service points.

Oliver Ames, 3 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames bounced back from its season-opening loss to earn a win over visiting Bridgewater-Raynham (25-17, 25-15, 25-16). Senior defensive specialist Grace McCallum had a strong game for the Tigers with six digs, five aces and two kills. Senior Sadie Homer added 18 digs, junior Allie Kemp finished with 21 assists and three aces, and junior Jordan Bosse put down 11 kills with two aces.

Golf
North Attleboro, 172 @ Foxboro, 177 – Final – North Attleboro’s Jillian Barend earned medalist honors for the Rocketeers, carding a team-low round of 40.

Attleboro, 174 @ King Philip, 163 – Final

Taunton, 92 @ New Bedford, 77 – Final (Stableford) – Taunton’s Kyle Robinson had a team-best round of 43 to pace the Tigers to a win at the Whaling City Golf Club. Spencer Andrews and Sean Bunker each shot 45 to help Taunton.

#5 King Philip, 2 @ #1 Natick, 1 – Final – King Philip took the lead in the 11th minute when sophomore Chloe Layne blasted a song off the crossbar and in, putting the Warriors up 1-0 in the 11th minute. Natick knotted the game 1-1 in the 60th minute, but six minutes Layne found her second goal, converting a breakaway after being set up by Hanna Balunos. Emma Durant had a strong game in net for the Warriors.

Volleyball
D1 Central East
#2 King Philip, 3 vs. #6 North Quincy, 2 – Final – King Philip outlasted sixth-seeded North Quincy, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to pick up the win and advance to the sectional final (25-18, 21-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-10). Sydney Phillips paced the offense with 17 kills along with eight service points (one ace) and five digs while Kat Kmetz had eight service points (two aces), four kills, three blocks and a pair of digs. Rachael Veilleux chipped in with nine service points and four kills and Michaela Palumbo had 13 service points (two aces) and three kills.

#3 North Attleboro, 0 vs. #19 Medfield, 1 – Final – North Attleboro was done in by a first-half goal by the visiting Warriors of Medfield. Medfield used a counter attack down the right wing, a cross that was headed and saved by goalie Brendan Matracia, but then buried by sophomore Matt Thompson on the rebound. “In the second half, every time that we got something going, we committed some type of foul, we killed ourselves in that regard,” said North Attleboro head coach Geoff Burgess. North finishes the season 11-2-6.

#4 Oliver Ames, 4 vs. #13 Whitman-Hanson, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames had an ideal start to its first playoff game, scoring four goals in the first half to advance past Whitman-Hanson. Senior Matt Alvarado converted a pass from Nathaniel Cardoza to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, and then Alvarado set up classmate James Gillespie to make it 2-0. Michael Nikiciuk scored a pair of goals inside a five-minute span to add to OA’s lead. OA senior goalie Jack Carroll saved a penalty kick in the second half to preserve the shutout. #4 Oliver Ames will host #12 Walpole (10-6-2) on Thursday with a time still to be announced by the MIAA.

Girls Soccer
D1 South
#5 King Philip, 2 @ #4 Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – Final – King Philip sophomore Avery Snead scored her 29th and 30th goals of the season, one in each half, to help the Warriors advance past the Trojans. Snead scored on a cross from Chloe Layne in the 37th minute, and then added a big insurance goal in the 76th minute.

#8 North Attleboro, 0 @ #1 Natick, 3 – Final – Natick scored all three of its goals in the first half to hand North Attleboro the loss. Big Red finishes the season 14-3-3.

Field Hockey
D2 South
#5 Foxboro, 0 @ #1 Dennis-Yarmouth, 1 – Final – Top-seeded Dennis-Yarmouth scored off a scrum in front of the net with just 1:56 to play to end Foxboro’s postseason run. The Warriors finished the season 15-4-2.

Volleyball
D1 Central East
#2 King Philip, 3 vs. #7 Arlington, 0 – Final – After a lengthy period of time off between the regular season and postseason, King Philip opened up tournament play in style with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-18) win over visiting Arlington. Sydney Phillips put down 15 kills while adding 10 service points, including two aces while Michaela Palumbo chipped in with eight kills, Julianne Rando added 11 digs, Elise Pereira had seven digs and six service points, Rachael Veilleux had 10 service points and 24 assists and Olivia Atkins finished with 10 digs. #2 King Philip will host #6 North Quincy (14-7) on Thursday at 6:00.

D1 Central West
#6 Franklin, 0 @ #3 Hopkinton, 3 – Final – Franklin went on the road and gave the third-seeded Hillers a big test, especially in the second half, but came up short (13-25, 24-26, 18-25). Hailey Sanders had seven kills and a block while Meaghan Maguire added four kills and four blocks to pace the offense. Lauren McGrath finished with 24 assists, eight digs and three aces while Riley Marino had 16 digs for the Panthers.

Milford, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Milford sophomore Nuno Mestre netted his first career goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, as Milford kept its postseason hopes alive. With the win, the Scarlet Hawks need one point from their season finale against Nipmuc. Sophomore Walisson de Oliveira opened the scoring midway through the first half, finishing a fed from Heitor Silva. Then Mestre converted a cross from Zach Brown midway through the season. Sharon scored its goal inside the final five minutes.

Canton @ Stoughton, 3:45
Foxboro, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro coach Bill Wallace earned his 200th career win as the Rocketeers got a brace from Leah Jette to earn the home win. Jette scored eight minutes into the game off a Kayla Pasquel assist and added a second off an Ashlyn Gaulin assist with 14 minutes to play. In between, Emma Gaulin scored on a Haley Guertin assist and Aine Mendonca added a goal early in the second half from a Julia Tolfa assist. Emma Noreck earned the clean sheet for North.

Franklin, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – Final – Chloe Layne scored a brace and Avery Snead had a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors to a big win in the season finale to clinch at least a share of the program’s first league title since 2002. Layne opened the scoring nine minutes into the game off a Snead assist and she added an unassisted goal four minutes after the break. Abby Baker knocked in a third off a Snead assist and then Snead scored on a 20-yard free kick for a 4-0 lead after 53 minutes. Ally Stanton scored the fifth on a first-time shot off an Emma Corcoran corner. KP coach Gary Pichel said, “The team is so excited to be champs after a 15-year drought!”

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Maggie Boyle scored from the penalty spot inside the final minute to lift the Hawks to victory. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Brianna Braza, Leanne Kibbee, Rachel LeBlanc and Julia Oliveira played well in the win. Sharon had its chances during the game, according to Eagles coach Brad Furnival, with Sabrina Robbins hitting the post and Ally Filipkowski forcing a goal-line clearance. He added, “My girls played excellent and did everything but score.”

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final

King Philip, 3 @ Franklin, 0 – Final – King Philip’s Claire Lawler scored a pair of goals in the first half and set up the third to help KP cap its Hock schedule with a win on the road. Lawler scored on a corner with 9:25 to play in the first from Nicole Conner, and then scored with 2:39 left in the half, again on a corner, on a pass from Dana Truini. Liz Furfari iced the game, taking a feed from Lawler with 15:29 to play. Franklin junior Christina Luccini made 10 saves in net, including a stop on a penalty stroke.

Milford, 4 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Oliver Ames, 0 @ West Bridgewater, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames senior goalie Caitlin Grant made seven totals, including three sliding saves to rob the hosts of find the back of the cage.

Taunton, 1 @ New Bedford, 0 – Final – Taunton senior Liana Duarte scored the winner with five minutes left in the game, giving the Tigers their first postseason berth since 1990. Sophomore goalie Emma Sheehan made six saves for the shutout while interim head coach Mike Fox said Lauren Torres and Kennedy Thielker both had strong games defensively.

Canton, 1 vs. Duxbury, 3 – Final

Franklin, 3 vs. Bishop Feehan, 2 – Final – Franklin picked up wins in games one, three and five to edge off the visiting Shamrocks (25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13). Hailey Sanders and Meaghan Maguire each had eight kills apiece as well as two blocks, while Maggie Doyle chipped in with six kills and four blocks. Junior Lauren McGrath had 33 assists in the win, as well as four ace and two kills.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – North Attleboro capped its regular season with a sweep on the road, and sixth straight victory in a row (25-14, 30-28, 25-14). For Mansfield, Meg Hill had nine kills and four blocks, Julia Harrison added eight kills and five digs and Lexi Gardner finished with five digs and four kills.

Oliver Ames, 3 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames defended home court with a clean 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-12) sweep over the visiting Trojans. Senior Kayla Raymond had seven kills and three aces, junior Sarah Litwack notched 20 assists and seniors Katie Flynn and Emma Petrillo each added five kills apiece.
