Nathaniel Cardoza put the Tigers ahead on an assist from Chris Lawrence while Michael Nikiciuk doubled the lead, on an assist from Brandin Osborne. OAHS head coach praised the play of Cam Vella, Mason Galbato, Matt Campbell and Colin Evin.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 2 – FinalCanton junior Griffin Roach continued his strong start to the season, netting a brace in the win. Roach scored once in each half.

Mansfield, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – FinalMansfield built a 3-0 lead over the first 25 minutes of the game and then held off a late push from the Panthers. John Cooney opened the scoring on an assist from Sean Lanzillo in the eighth minute and just three minutes later, Jared Gabrilowitz made it 2-0 on a feed from Cullin Anastasia. Nick Wisnieski converted a chance from Gabrilowitz in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0. Franklin got on the board when sophomore Sam Stowell converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute. Sophomore Lucas Mauro netted Franklin’s second goal off an assist from Nasir Brahimi. Nick Ferraz made six saves in net for Mansfield.

King Philip, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalKing Philip Connor Mullins converted a cross from Thomas Lugten inside the area in the first half to give the Warriors the win.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro built a 3-0 lead by halftime and converted a set piece in the second half to earn two points on the road. Sophomore Dylan Corrigan grabbed his first goal of the game in the sixth minute, and made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, burying a rebound chance after a terrific save from Stoughton keeper Carter Gerome. Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – FinalMaeve Hogan put OA in front with a header off a Sophia Cox corner. Briley Harnois tied the game late in the first half, but Abby Hodges popped up with the game-winner midway through the second half, off a Jackie Mills cross.

Sharon, 1 @ Canton, 2 – FinalFreshman Elisa Diletzia scored with a header off a Riley Duserick cross in the closing minutes to nab the win for the Bulldogs. Freshman Olivia Rodman scored the first for Canton off a Lilah Sullivan assist.

Foxboro, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalLily Sykes scored the lone goal of the game with a shot from outside the 18. Katie Huether assisted on the goal for the Warriors. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Olivia Marshall played well in goal with a number of saves to keep the Hawks in it and Ashleigh Starks and Juliana France both had strong games as well.

Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalKing Philip sophomores Avery Snead and Chloe Layne linked up for three goals in King Philip’s win at home. Layne (three points) scored twice, both on assists from Snead, who scored once and had another assist for a total of four points. Abby Baker scored an unassisted tally and Jenna Hitchen also scored once. Samantha Tichelaar scored the lone goal of the game for the Tigers, while Grace Pimenta made 12 saves for Taunton.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – FinalAshlyn Gaulin had a brace and an assist for the Rocketeers, while Haley Guertin, Aine Mendonca, and Mackenzie Rosenberg each scored one in the win. Leah Jette, Samantha Hawkins, and Kayla Pasquel each had assists. North coach Bill Wallace said that Coley Flynn, Meg Slaney and Ally Blaisdell “had excellent games.”

Field Hockey
Oliver Ames, 6 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalOliver Ames scored three goals in each half to double up on Attleboro. Maggie Woods scored a pair of goals while Sarah Stevens, Kayla Lozzi, Liz Nuss and Cristina Boudreau each scored once. Boudreau added two assists while Nuss, Hannah Stryke and Cassie Gennis each had one helper.

Senior Jackie Kandar had a strong game defensively for the Tigers and added four kills and two aces. Emma Petrillo added 12 kills and Katie Flynn finished with 10 kills.

Canton, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalCanton picked up a sweep on the road, notching a 25-12, 25-18, 25-15 win. Erin Devine had a great match with eight kills without any hitting errors (.727). Nyah Claiborne chipped in with three aces and great defense. Sofia Connor had 12 digs and Nicole Brown added 16 assists.

Mansfield, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin had a strong, well-rounded attack to pick up a sweep against Mansfield. Ellie Wisniewski (ace), Meaghan Maguire (block) and Hailey Sanders all had eight kills apiece while Maggie Doyle (three blocks) added four kills. For Mansfield, Meg Hill added eight kills, Julia Harrison had six kills and Mikayla Kearney chipped in with 10 digs.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 0 – FinalOliver Ames recorded its first win of the season with a 25-20, 25-8, 25-13 decision on the road. Senior Kayla Raymond led OA with nine aces, six kills and two blocks. Junior Sarah Litwack added 22 assists and two aces, junior Sadie Homer had six aces and 10 digs, and senior Emma Petrillo finished with 10 kills and six digs.

Foxboro, 5 vs. Walpole, 0 – FinalLily Sykes scored a hat trick and “played amazing overall,” according to head coach Katie Stalcup, as the Warriors won a third straight game. Katelyn Mollica scored a first half goal and Lizzy Davis chipped in with a goal with a minute left.

Franklin, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – FinalHalle Atkinson scored the first goal for the Panthers at the half hour mark and an own goal with 20 minutes to play sealed the two points for Franklin in an even game played in blustery conditions. Cat Robbins earned another clean sheet with four saves and Grace Pimenta made 10 saves in the loss for the Tigers.

Taunton, 3 @ Franklin, 6 – FinalFranklin junior Cassi Ronan paced Franklin with a pair of goals and also added an assist while controlling the midfield as the Panthers doubled up on visiting Taunton. Freshman Victoria Quinn scored twice and junior Annie Walsh had two assists and one goal. Junior Ashley Reutlinger also scored for the Panthers and played “an outstanding game on the wing” according to head coach Lisa Cropper. Cropper also highlighted the defensive work of sophomore Maeve Ledwith and senior Caroline Jackson.

Franklin, 3 vs. Brockton, 1 – FinalFranklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong performance for the second straight game, helping the Panthers rally from a one-set deficit for a 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-12 win. Wisniewski had 14 kills, five digs and four aces while Maggie Doyle added 10 kills, three blocks and three aces. Junior Lauren McGrath had another strong performance from the setter spot with 37 assists, three kills and two aces.

Stoughton, 3 vs. Norwood, 0 – FinalStoughton defended its home court with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 sweep in non-league game against Norwood.. Senior Val Whalen led Stoughton with 18 kills, six blocks and 20 digs. SHS head coach Erica Batchelder said the Black Knights received a strong defensive showing from seniors Haley Stone and Vicky Ramos.

King Philip, 1 @ Canton, 2 – FinalCanton junior Griffin Roach scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to a big win over visiting King Philip. Roach scored the opening goal in the 17th minute after a shot from Avery Minkin was deflected. In the second half, Roach doubled the lead when his shot from just inside the area was deflected into the top corner. KP scored in the 73rd minute when sophomore Brian McCarthy’s cross was headed home at the far post by senior Jack Bush.

Franklin, 1 @ Foxboro, 2 – FinalFoxboro’s Ryan Kelley had a hand in both of the Warriors goals, recording a goal and an assist in the win. Kelley scored the opener inside the first five minutes, smashing home a rebound on a shot from Cam Cass. Early in the second half, Kelley played Nic Beigel in, who finished his chance to make it 2-0. Franklin responded within five minutes to cut the deficit in half but Foxboro held on for two points.

Mansfield, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final Mansfield netted a pair of second half goals and senior Nick Ferraz made six saves to record his second shutout of the season. Cullin Anastasia put the visitors on the board midway through the second half by converting a penalty kick. Sam Hyland doubled the Hornets’ lead five minutes later when he finished off a corner kick from Luke Savoie.

Taunton, 0 @ Milford, 1 – FinalThe Scarlet Hawks netted the only goal of the game midway through the first half to earn their first win of the season. Junior Tiago Filadelfo nodded home a free kick service from sophomore Jordan Borges for his first career goal. Like Capobianco recorded the clean sheet in net for the Hawks. Milford head coach Brian Edwards said Leo Coelho had a strong game for the Hawks in midfield.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro got off to a great start, opening the scoring inside the first two minutes but Oliver Ames battled back to level the match before halftime, and that’s how it would finish. North Attleboro sophomore Dylan Corrigan scored his first career goal, finishing a pass from senior Josh Rodriguez. Head coach Geoff Burgess credited Joe Hilf with starting the counter attack that led to the goal. OA scored in the 33rd minute when senior Mason Galbato opened his 2017 account, finishing off a long throw with Nathaniel Cardoza assisting. OAHS head coach John Barata noted both Cam Vella and Chris Lawrence played great in the back for the Tigers.

Girls Soccer
Sharon, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalThe Bombardiers made it two wins in a row with what head coach Steve Santos called, “a great team win.” Freshmen Briley Harnois and Isabella Salviati scored for Attleboro to open a 2-0 lead at halftime. Sharon got one back from Ally Filipkowski before Hannah Meier sealed the points with Attleboro’s third. Santos said that Kara Thornton did a great job marking Filipkowski and praised the defensive effort of his captains Jordyn Forte, Morgan Laplume, and Julia Hayes.

Canton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – FinalChloe Layne had a goal and an assist for the Warriors, who continue the unbeaten start to the season. Ally Stanton opened the scoring in the ninth minute and the score stayed 1-0 until eight minutes after the break when Avery Snead finished a Layne pass to double the lead. Ten minutes later, Layne got her goal from a Jenna Hitchen cross to wrap up the scoring. Emma Durant made two saves for KP and Warriors coach Gary Pichel said that the back line of Emma Corcoran, Olivia Berry, Lauren Anderson, and Kyliegh Remmis “were unbeatable today.”

Foxboro, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalIn an even game, in which both teams had good scoring opportunities, the Panthers earned all two points thanks to a goal in the final minute by Calen Frongillo, assisted by Anna Balkus. A minute before the Franklin goal, the Warriors had a scoring chance of their own but were denied by a diving Cat Robbins save.

Stoughton, 0 @ Mansfield, 6 – FinalCassidy McMahon continued her strong start to the season with two goals and two assists to lead the Hornets to their third win of the season. Stephanie Kemp added a brace for Mansfield, which also got goals from Allison and Melissa Reef.

Milford, 2 @ Taunton, 1 – FinalMilford picked up its first win of the season behind goals from Juliana France (assisted by Maddy Boyle) and Hannah Martin (assisted by Kristina Chiarelli). Samantha Tichelaar scored the lone goal for the Tigers and Grace Pimenta made 10 saves.

Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalOliver Ames took a 2-1 lead before the halftime break and that was enough, with goalie Tigers’ Caitlin Grant recording eight saves in the win. Meaghan Rockey and Sarah Stevens each found the back of the net, both on assists from Cristina Boudreau. Franklin junior Ashley Reutlinger’s first goal of the season, on an assist from Cassi Ronan, tied the game in the first half before OA retook the lead. OA head coach Abby Tepper said Grant “played amazing in net” and also praised the defensive play of Sarah Tetrault.

Volleyball

King Philip, 3 @ Canton, 0 – FinalKing Philip earned a sweep on the road, beating Canton 25-18, 25-13, 25-13. Reigning Hockomock League MVP Sydney Phillips led the Warriors’ charge with 18 kills while Michaela Palumbo added nine kills and Grace Ely chipped in with seven kills. Elise Pereira (seven digs) and Julianne Rando (six digs) paced KP’s defense. For Canton, Sophia Connor had a strong all-around game, hitting .429 with 10 digs and 2 aces. Taylor Harris added four aces, two kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs.

Franklin, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalFranklin picked up its second straight sweep, this time on the road at Foxboro. Riley Marino had 11 serve receptions, seven digs and three aces for the Panthers while FHS head coach Kate Horsmann said Lauren Lockhart had another smart hitting match, finishing with eight kills. Maggie Doyle added four kills, two blocks and an ace in the win.

Mansfield, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton defended its home court with a big win over Mansfield, recording a 25-3, 25-9, 28-26 sweep of the Hornets. Junior Molly Turner had a great all around game for the Knights with 13 assists, four blocks and 25 service points. Senior Val Whalen led the Stoughton offense with 15 kills. “We started strong and kept up a great defensive game to hold off the Hornets in the third set,” said SHS head coach Erica Batchelder.

Taunton, 3 @ Milford, 0 – FinalTaunton notched its first win of the season, holding off the Hawks in the third set to earn a 25-18, 25-19, 28-26 sweep. Sam Reaume led Taunton with 10 digs, seven kills, two blocks and an ace while Kayli Fagan finished with 20 assists, three kills, two assists and a block. THS head coach Toby Chaperon said Rawan Hamie and Sam Martin provided a spark up front and at the service line, and praised the defensive play of McKenzie Lucie, Jaime Brown and Elaine Bodemer.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro earned its third win of the season, and first sweep, fending off Oliver Ames with a 25-15, 25-22, 26-24 win. OA sophomore Jordyn Vella had four kills, two blocks and three aces for the Tigers.

Jack Goyetch and Chris Lavoie each chipped in with rounds of 39. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell had a team-low round of 42.

Attleboro junior Will Halben pulled one back but Canton’s Griffin Roach found the back of the week to make it 4-1. Brandon Lewis added a second strike for the Bombardiers.

Mansfield, 0 @ Foxboro, 0 – FinalMansfield senior Nick Ferraz made eight saves in net for the Hornets to earn the shutout.

Franklin, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – FinalNorth Attleboro twice erased a one-goal deficit and scored the game winner with just two seconds left to open the season with two points. Franklin senior Connor O’Rourke put the Panthers ahead in the sixth minute, finishing a shot from distance. North tied the game in the 28th minute when junior Joe Hilf put home a rebound on a corner kick. An own goal put Franklin back ahead but North Attleboro tied the match in the 61st minute. Senior Gabe Pinhancos broke through in alone on goal, touched around the keeper and finished into the net. Hilf scored the winner at the death, putting his shot at the back post with two seconds left.

King Philip, 1 @ Milford, 0 – FinalMilford pushed King Philip to the brink but the Warriors found the game-winner five just five minutes go. Senior Cam Koch provided the winner as his shot from outside the area hit off the crossbar and back off the keeper and into the net. Milford head coach Bryan Edwards played the effort of defender Joey Madden and goalie Josh Orellana.

Taunton, 1 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalLiam Crowley put Taunton ahead just before halftime but the Eagles netted a pair of second half goals to grab two points. Marques Benton leveled the match in the 52nd minute, heading in a long throw from Tyler Hippler. Isaiah Stessman netted the winner in the 66th minute with a shot from distance.

Girls Soccer
Canton, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalLilah Sullivan scored off a Riley Duserick assist to open the scoring for the Bulldogs and freshman Elisa Diletizia added a debut goal for Canton. Attleboro coach Steve Santos said that his team played well and created chances, but just couldn’t find the finish.

Layne opened the scoring off a corner and Jenny Hinch made it two by finishing off a loose ball to the near post. Avery Snead scored off a Layne assist to make it 3-0 at halftime. Layne redirected an Emma Corcoran corner for her second and the fourth for the Warriors. Milford goalie Olivia Marshall made eight saves and Hawks coach Jay Mastaj said that Rachel LeBlanc had a solid game on defense.

Stoughton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – FinalAbby Reardon, Sofia Masciarelli, and Erin Homberg scored goals for the Tigers and Sophia Cox and Abby Hodges had assists. Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 8 – FinalCanton senior Andrea McNeil netted a pair of goals and registered a pair of assists in the Bulldogs’ big win.

Franklin, 1 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalFranklin freshman Victoria Quinn tied the game midway through the first half off an assist from freshman Amanda Lewandowski. FHS goalie Christina Luccini helped the Panthers preserve the tie with a stellar second half, making five her of nine saves in the second half. Franklin head coach Lisa Cropper also praised the play of junior Cassi Ronan and senior defender Jolie Bua.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalOliver Ames broke open a tie game at the half with a pair of second half goals to beat Stoughton. Liz Nuss led OA with two goals while Hannah Stryke scored one goal. Caitlin Grant recorded 11 saves in net for Oliver Ames. Haley Apotheker and Allie Howe scored for Stoughton.

Taunton, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – FinalTaunton led 1-0 at the break and netted three more goals in the second half to pull away from Sharon and earn the win. Kya Enos scored a pair of goals while Diana Brend Lauren Torres each netted one goal for the Tigers. Senior Liana Duarte and freshman Alana Tavares each registered an assist in the win. Sharon head coach Andrea Vandette said goalie Lindsay Moses played an amazing first half, turning aside 20 shots.

King Philip, 9 @ Milford, 0 – FinalKing Philip raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first half and never looked back in a shutout win on the road. Alli Meehan had a hat trick and two assists to pace the Warriors’ offense while Claire Lawler scored twice and Caroline Klim had two helpers. Liz Furfari (goal, assist), Dana Truini and Raegan Simeone each scored once while Christina Hathaway and McKenzie Mazur each had one assist.

Volleyball
Taunton, 0 vs. New Bedford, 3 – FinalJunior Kayli Fagan recorded 10 assists and Sam Reaume finished with four kills and a block for the Tigers.

Attleboro, 172 @ Taunton, 189 – FinalAttleboro’s Kyle DelSignore led the Bombardiers with a low-round of 39 while Corey McKenna carded a 41 to lead Big Blue to its first win. Jack Giebel, Jack Patneaude, Cam Williams all shot 46 for Taunton.

North Attleboro, 171 @ Milford, 172 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Dylan Kane earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 38 to lead the Rocketeers. Riley Lynch led Milford with a 40 and Will Middlecoat shot a 42.

King Philip, 168 @ Franklin, 171 – FinalKing Philip’s Danny McLaughlin was the medalist with a low-round of 37.

Oliver Ames, 3 vs. Brockton, 1 – Final – Seniors Francesca Calabraro, Kiana Lozzi and Lauren Wright each scored a goal in the first half as Oliver Ames built a 3-0 lead by halftime. Head coach Britt Sellmayer said Emily Freeman and Zoe Chazan had solid defensive games for the Tigers.

Taunton, 1 @ New Bedford, 1 – Final – Olivia Sweeney scored Taunton’s goal, on an assist from Alexis Faria. Grace Pimenta had four saves in net for the Tigers.

Oliver Ames, 3 vs. West Bridgewater, 1 – Final Oliver Ames built a three goal lead by halftime and held off West Bridgewater in the second half to hand new head coach Abby Tepper her first career win. Dimitra Efremidis scored once and had an assistwhile Sarah Steves and Kendall and Clifford each scored once. Meaghan Rockey added an assist for the Tigers.

Milford, 0 vs. Nipmuc, 3 – FinalMilford head coach Kim Danish noted Kaitlyn DeCapua had a strong game for the Scarlet Hawks.

Volleyball
North Attleboro, 1 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – The Panthers rallied from a six point deficit in the first set to set the tone and earn the win. Erin Skidmore rattled off nine straight service points, turning a 20-14 North Attleboro lead into a 23-20 lead for the Panthers in the first set. Skidmore finished with 16 service points, seven aces, five kills and two blocks. Junior Meaghan Maguire led Franklin with 10 kills and three blocks while sophomore Lauren McGrath had 17 Assists and five aces for the Panthers.

Milford @ Foxboro – Postponed to 9/12

Franklin, 165 @ Mansfield, 174 – Final Franklin junior Bryan Woelfel was the match medalist, shooting a 37 to lead the Panthers. Senior Matt Dao also had a strong day for Franklin, carding a 41. Mansfield senior Jason Hindham shot a team-best 38 for the Hornets.

Taunton, 179 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 198 – Final – Taunton started the season off with a win over rival Coyle, behind a match-low 41 from Mike Volkmann. Justin Proto shot a 43 for Taunton while Jake Crawford had a 46 and Ryan Maloney carded a 49.
