King Philip, 8 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalKing Philip broke open a close game with six runs in the seventh inning to pick up a win on the road at Attleboro. The Warriors took the lead with two runs in the second inning but didn’t breakthrough again until the top of the seventh. In the top of the second, Ryan Coulter singled, stole second and then scored on a base hit from Chris Wing. Wing came across to score on a double by Patrick Limerick. Wing got the win on the mound for the Warriors, tossing a complete game with six hits allowed. The senior struck out eight batters in the win. In the seventh inning, Will Weir tripled in Kyle Guenthner, Weir came across on a single from Ben Furfari, Collin Cooke knocked in Furfari with a base hit and Jack Webster and Cooke scored on a double from Wing. Attleboro’s Tyler McGovern tossed five solid innings for the Bombardiers with two runs allowed.

North Attleboro, 11 @ Canton, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro scored a pair of runs in each of the second and third innings and really created separation with a five-run fifth inning. Big Red added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Junior Nick Sinacola had a standout performance, both at the plate and on the mound for the Rockteers. He tossed six innings, scattering five hits with just one walk allowed while striking out eight. At the plate, Sinacola went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a triple, a run scored and three RBI. Kyle McCarthy added two hits, two runs and two RBI, John Brennan had a pair of hits and Zach DeMattio hit a solo home run.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalFranklin emerged from a pitcher’s duel with a 1-0 win, scoring the lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Franklin lefty Jason Ulrickson went the distance, tossing a complete game shutout with just four hits allowed. He walked just one batter while striking out three. Ulrickson also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3. Oliver Ames sophomore Tom Parker also had a strong performance, going five-plus innings with just three hits against and two walks. The sophomore struck out a pair while allowing just the one. Franklin senior Ryan Hodgkins scored the lone run of the game, coming home on a sacrifice fly to right field from Josh Macchi. The Panthers had a strong game defensively, led by sophomore shortstop Alex Haba, who had eight putouts.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalJunior Tyler Medeiros shined in his first start of the season, striking out four while allowing just three hits and one walk in six scoreless innings. Trevor Pietrzyk and Danny Keogh (save) combined for a scoreless seventh inning to close the game. Taunton junior Joe Manchester singled in the fourth inning and came around to score after an errant pickoff attempt and a misplay in the outfield. Taunton tacked on a second run in the fifth. Billy Emerson singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice by David Schofield, advanced to third on a single from Matt Machado and scored on a single to left field from junior Jacob Crawford. “Tyler threw the ball exceptionally well today,” said first year head coach Blair Bourque. “He threw strikes and let his defense make plays for him. After the first inning he really settled in. He was mixing his pitches up and hitting corners.” Mansfield’s Nolan Dousa struck out six in six innings of work, scattering six hits. Max Boen had two hits for Mansfield.

Milford, 0 @ Stoughton, 15 – Final (5 inn.)For the second time in three games, Stoughton’s offense has reached double figures in hits and runs scored. The Black Knights belted 16 hits while coming across to score 15 runs. Stoughton senior Justin Hutchinson (3-for-4 at the plate with a double, two runs and an RBI) got the win on the mound, tossing four shutout innings with just two hits and one walk allowed, all while striking out seven batters. Sophomore Evan Gibb (2-for-3, three RBI, run) tossed a scoreless 1-2-3 fifth inning with a pair of strikeouts. Also hitting well for the Black Knights were Ruben Gonzalez (3-for-4, three runs, RBI, three stolen bases), Jack Connelly (2-for-2, double, home run, three runs, three RBI), Pat Hagerty (2-for-3, triple, RBI, three runs), Nick Hardy (2-for-3, double, run, two RBI), Matt Hadley (triple) and Ryan Sullivan (run, RBI).

Canton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 21 – Final (5 inn.)Bella Erti was perfect through five innings to pick up the victory for North Attleboro, striking out five of the 15 hitters she faced. Olivia Capobianco went 4-for-5 and Liz Morehouse went 3-for-4 for North. Also for the Rocketeers, Meg Barlow, Amelia Murphy (3-for-3 on the day), and Stephanie Inglese each had two-run homers.

Franklin, 13 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalFranklin turned a 2-0 deficit into a big lead, plating 10 runs in the fourth inning and then adding three more runs in the sixth inning. Ally Shea had a hit and knocked in two runs for the Panthers while Meg Caron and Olivia Haba each knocked in three runs. Sophomore Emily Valentino tossed a complete game, striking out one to earn her first varsity win.

Taunton, 5 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalCourtney Fisher went the distance for the Tigers, tossing a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Hannah Aldrich went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a pair of runs for Taunton, while Jaime Brown had a pair of hits and Kya Enos drove in a pair of runs. Sarah Cahill made her first varsity start for the Hornets and went five innings, allowing just five hits.

Stoughton, 2 @ Milford, 10 – FinalThe Scarlet Hawks broke the game open with a five-run third inning, turning a one-run deficit into a lead. Jess Tomaso (3-for-4, double, six RBI) had a three-run homer run and three batters later, Kelley Reichert (2-for-4) had a two run single to put Milford up 5-1. Shannon Cormier drew three walks and came around to score each time for Milford. Reichert got the win in the circle, tossing a complete game with five strikeouts.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 17 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final

Canton, 6 @ Scituate, 12 – FinalThe Bulldogs finally played their first game of the season, but fell on the road to a tough Scituate team. Sophomore Mike Shaw led the Bulldogs with three goals and one assist while Kevin Albert added three asses. Ryan Lodge scored a pair of goals, Dan Cohen netted one tally and Nick Allen chipped in with two assists. Freshman Jack Connolly played with in goal in his first varsity game, making 12 saves.

Franklin, 7 vs. BC High, 8 – Final

King Philip, 8 @ Bishop Feehan, 7 – FinalKing Philip overcame a plethora of penalties to edge out Bishop Feehan. The Warriors were down a man for over 16 minutes in the game but a great defensive effort and a stellar performance from Paul Macrina in goal helped KP hang on. Macrina made 16 saves in net while first year head coach Jamie Stefanini said Michael Curtain, Connor Khung, Zach D’Amico (goal), Wes Bishop and Garrett Maxwell all played outstanding. John DeLuca scored a pair of goals for KP while Tim Watson had one goal and two assists, Colin DeVellis had one goal and one assist and Ben Palmer and Robert Tartagulla each scored once.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Silver Lake, 5 – FinalOliver Ames shut out Silver Lake in the fourth quarter and scored three unanswered goals but fell just shy of completing its comeback against the Lakers. Senior Liam Brown, juniors Owen Gallagher and Eric LeBlanc and freshman Shane Kikelly each scored once for OA.

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 7 @ Walpole, 8 – FinalSophia DiCenso and Caroline Boudreau each scored hat tricks for the Warriors and Meghan Curran added one. Freshman goalie Sara Addeche made six saves, as Foxboro held the defending Div. 2 state champions scoreless in the second half.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalKatie Lindstrom, Erin Holley and Kenzie Rosenberg each scored two goals for the Rocketeers and goalie Kayla Moulin made 12 saves in the win.

Milford, 19 vs. Bellingham, 5 – Final

Oliver Ames, 7 @ Whitman-Hanson, 9 – FinalEmalyn Duvall recorded a hat trick and Sofia Masciarelli found the back of the net twice but the Tigers fell on the road at Whitman-Hanson. OA goalie Ari Waldorf made 14 saves for the Tigers.

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalCole Ginter didn’t drop a game at first singles, the team of Ryan Gemelli and Sam Collela did the same at first doubles and KP won all five matches in straight sets to beat Attleboro. Ginter won 6-0, 6-0 at first while brother Blake Ginter won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles. Martin Martous won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles for KP. Gemelli and Collela won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles while Jake Webster and Marco DiStefano won 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles.

Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro dominated in both doubles matches and took wins at second and third singles to pick up a win over Canton. Senior Barsomo Nuay win 6-2, 6-3 at second singles and junior Alex Rinaldi won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. The team of senior Daniel Zhang and junior Ben Pfeffer won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and senior Andrew Harris and Vikram Senthilakumaran won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles. Canton junior Jake Wolicki won 6-1, 6-4 at first singles for the Bulldogs’ lone win.

Franklin, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalFranklin’s Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier both made their varsity debuts, teaming up at second doubles and won in straight sets without losing a single game. The pair won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles while the team of James Johnston and Derek Wu won by the same score at first doubles. Rahul Herur won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles, Eli Brooks won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles and Rohan Herur won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Canton, 0 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s Emily Chiasson and Jordan Willis each won in straight sets without dropping a game to pace the Rocketeers. Chiasson won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles while Willis won with the same score at second singles. Kate Ovoian won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles. The team of Gabby Duva and Azka Siddiq won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles while Katie Demontigny and Hana Hershey won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin junior Hailey Strier rallied back after dropping the first set, winning the second set 7-5 and then winning the tiebreaker, 10-8, to secure the win for the Panthers. Franklin also got wins from senior Hannah Sweeney (6-0, 6-0 at first singles) and senior Anja Deric (6-1, 6-3 at second singles). Oliver Ames swept doubles play as Tori Wyman and Kristin Bloumbas won 6-2, 7-5 at first doubles and freshmen Tate Hadges and Maura Kiernan won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 5 – Final – Taunton won all five matches in straight sets with Jillian Pagliuca taking the win at third singles without losing a game (6-0, 6-0). Olivia Sweeney won 6-4, 6-2 at first singles, Jordan Pagliuca won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles, Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles and Callie Herbert and Jordan Martin won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles.

Milford, 3 vs. Nipmuc, 1 – FinalMilford picked up its third win of the season, beating Nipmuc 25-21, 25-20, 16-25, 25-19. Outside hitter Jack Winship had 18 kills and 18 digs, middle Joao Boaventura had 10 kills, 11 digs and four blocks and setter Danny Zwonik finished with 37 assists, a block and an ace.

Taunton, 3 vs. Durfee, 1 – FinalThe Tigers defended home court with a 25-20, 25-16, 14-25, 25-21 win over the Hilltoppers on Monday. Lens Esquil had eight kills, three blocks and an ace, Lance Law had seven kills, a block and an ace, Collin Hunter added five kills, two blocks and two aces and David Fusiecki had six digs, two blocks, two kills and an ace.

Stoughton, 8 @ Mansfield, 9 – FinalMansfield scored all nine of its runs in the first three innings and then held off a last inning rally from the visitors to get the win. The Hornets plated three runs in the first, four in the second and two more in the third while Stoughton scored twice in the first, once in the second, twice in the third, and once in the fourth. Stoughton pushed across two more runs in the seventh inning and had the bases loaded but the Hornets escaped the jam for the win. Kevin Dow was 2-for-3 with two RBI and earned the win on the mound in relief, tossing 3.1 innings with two runs allowed and three strikeouts. Colin Gibbons also went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored while both Max Boen and Aidan Cahill had two hits and two runs scored each. Stoughton’s Justin Hutchinson went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run while Ruben Gonzalez, Pat Hagerty, Luke Johnson, Evan Gibb and Nick Hardy each had one RBI for the Knights.

Attleboro, 8 @ Sharon, 0 – FinalJordyn Lako had two hits and drove in two runs, Julya Woyton went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and freshman Jenna Gittle went 3-for-4 for the Bombardiers, who had 12 hits as a team. On the mound, Gittle allowed only two hits in a complete game shutout.

Mansfield, 2 @ Stoughton, 10 – FinalGina Carafa went the distance in the circle for the Black Knights, scattering 11 hits while striking out 11 Hornets, while also going 2-for-4 at the plate. Shannon Flaherty went 3-for-3 with two doubles, scored a pair of runs and drove in two others, Val Whalen had a pair of hits, and Nicki Coppola had three RBI for Stoughton, which scored seven runs in the first inning to take control. Megan Letendre struck out seven for Mansfield and Liz Mackin went 3-for-4 in the loss.

Stoughton, 1 @ Mansfield, 15 – FinalNine different players found the back of the net for the Hornets as Mansfield beat Stoughton in the Black Knights’ first ever varsity game. Joe Cox (three goals, one assist), Hunter Ferreira (two goals, three assists), Sam O’Connell (two goals), Aidan Sacco (two goals) and Cullen Murphy (two goals) paced the offense. Haig Megerdichian (assist), Brady Kessler, Josh London and Liam Carey each scored once. Mike Zampine and Mike DuBreuil both had strong games defensively for the Hornets. Stoughton’s David Cellucci scored the program’s first ever goal in the first quarter.

Milford, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 13 – FinalOliver Ames junior attack Eric LeBlanc led the way with four goals for the Tigers, while both junior midfielder Jack Lang and senior midfielder Liam Brown registered a pair of goals. Senior Robbie Almeida, junior Owen Gallagher, sophomores Colin Bourne and Cullen Gallagher and freshman Sam Stevens each scored once for OA.

Oliver Ames, 16 @ Milford, 5 – FinalOliver Ames sophomore Olivia Piazza scored a career-high six goals to pace the Tigers on the road. Junior Emalyn Duvall added a hat trick while juniors Sofia Masciarelli and Chloe Kikelly each registered two goals. OA goalie Ari Waldorf made 13 saves in the cage.

North Attleboro, 16 @ Taunton, 7 – FinalJulia Dakin scored three goals and recorded two assists for the Rocketeers. North also got hat tricks from Kenzie Rosenberg and Camille Pizarro and a goal and three assists from Chloe Olsen. Alana Tavares and Bre Conlon each scored a pair of goals for the Tigers and Lorna Li made seven saves in the loss.

Senior Griffin Fein won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles while junior Fred Bondar and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-0, 6-0 at second and third singles, respectively. The team of juniors Arie Chinnappan and Ashwin Sreevatsa won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and sophomores Max Brody and Russell Rapaport won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles.

Nupur Shukla, Emily Zhang and Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at first, second and third singles, respectively. The team of Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles.

Stoughton, 0 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalMansfield’s Jessica Hanley and Hannah Podolske won a tiebreaker to win at second doubles, completing the clean sweep for the Hornets. Hanley and Podolske won 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4) at second doubles while Chloe Peters and Tessa Garufi won 6-4, 6-1 at first doubles. Mansfield had strong performances at singles as well as Paulina Martin (first singles) and Sarah Doyle (second singles) both won 6-0, 6-0 and Elizabeth Elsner picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles.

Milford, 0 @ Taunton, 5 – FinalTaunton won in straight sets in all five matches but the Hawks won at least one game in every set except for won. Olivia Sweeney won 6-4, 6-2 at first singles, Jillian Pagliuca won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles and McKenzie Lucie won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles for the Tigers. Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and Carline Hebert and Jordan Martin won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Emily Chiasson and Jordan Willis each won 6-0, 6-0 at first and second singles, respectively, while Katie Demontigny and Hana Hershey won at first doubles by the same score. Azka Siddiq won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles for the Rocketeers. OA freshmen Tate Hadges and Maura Kiernan won 7-5, 1-6, 10-5 at second doubles for the Tigers.

Taunton, 3 vs. Greater New Bedford, 1 – FinalTaunton overcame a one-set deficit to pick up a win over previously unbeaten Greater New Bedford Voke Tech. GNBVT entered the match ranked #3 overall in the state by Mass Boys High School Volleyball while the Tigers were ranked #25. The Bears won the first set 25-15 but Taunton rallied to win the next three, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21. Lance Law led the way with a team-high 17 kills and added a block. Lens Esquil had 11 kills and six blocks, Malik Charles added seven kills and a block and Collin Hunter chipped in with six kills and a block.

Attleboro, 5 @ Stoughton, 14 – FinalStoughton’s offense exploded for 20 hits with seven players registering at least two hits for the Black Knights. Ruben Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBI, Pat Hagerty was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three runs and two RBI and Jack Connelly was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBI. Luke Johnson (double, triple, 3 RBI), Ryan Sullivan and Nick Hardy each had two hits. Justin Hutchinson (3-for-3, 2 RBI) earned the win on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings with four earned runs. The senior struck out 10, including six straight, and scattered three hits.

Mansfield, 15 @ Canton, 0 – FinalMansfield scored in each of the first five innings, including six in the third inning to break the game open. The Hornets connected for 15 hits and reached base on 11 walks. Senior Matt Farragher led the way from the nine hole, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored, Anthony DeGirolamo went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored, Max Boen was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored and Zach Peterson had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored. Nolan Dousa tossed a complete game shutout to earn the win, striking out six while allowing just three hits and one walk.

Foxboro, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalSenior Kyle Guenthner initiated a game-ending 4-3 double play as the Warriors hung on for a 2-1 win over Foxboro. Foxboro loaded the bases in the seventh but Guenthner’s double play helped KP survive. Will Weir wen 2-3 with three stolen bases, scoring both of King Philip’s runs. First, Weir had a two-out single in the first inning, stole both second and third and then scored on an error. Weir scored again in the sixth, connecting on another two-out second, stealing second and then scoring on a single from Ben Furfari. Foxboro had tied the game in the fourth when AJ Bubencik singled, stole second and scored on two passed balls. Sophomore Jack Webster got his first career win, tossing two scoreless innings in relief with just two hits allowed. Junior Jackson Sheibler went 4.1 innings, allowing just one hit and one run and junior Jeremy Rhines got the save with a scoreless seventh inning.

Franklin @ Milford – Postponed to Thursday, 4/13 at 3:45.

Taunton, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro seized the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth but Taunton responded, grabbing two runs in the top of the sixth to edge the Rocketeers. The Tigers cashed in on three walks and two hit batters to pushed across the tying and winning run. Taunton’s David Schofield earned the walk to draw in the game-winning run in the top of the sixth. Joe Manchester (1-for-3, run) and Jack Moynihan also had an RBI for Taunton, while Matt Machado had two hits. Moynihan tossed four scoreless innings while striking out five. Danny Keogh earned the win, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout. North Attleboro’s Nate Pearce (3-for-4, double, triple, RBI) allowed just one run in five innings of work. Zach DeMattio added two hits, an RBI and a run and Nick Crawley added a pair of hits for the Rocketeers.

Sharon, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – FinalOliver Ames got its offense going early, scoring in the first inning for the second straight game and then adding four more runs in the third inning. Junior Mitch Goulet had a pair of hits in the win for the Tigers.

Softball
Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – FinalMcKenzie Bergdoll made an impact both in the circle and at the plate, leading the Bombardiers to a walk-off win over Stoughton. Bergdoll tossed a complete game, scattering six hits while striking out nine. Attleboro was the home team despite the change of venue, giving them the opportunity to bat last. In the bottom of the seventh, Bergdoll connected for a double, driving in MacKenzie Killough (2-for-4) for the winning run. AHS head coach Mark Homer said Jordyn Lako and Ashley Macia had strong games defensively for the Bombardiers.

Canton, 7 @ Mansfield, 14 – Final Megan Letendre pitched a complete game for the Hornets allowing six hits and striking out six batters. She also went 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate. North Attleboro junior Amelia Murphy was 2-for-3 with a double.

Mansfield, 12 @ Attleboro, 5 – FinalMansfield raced out to a 6-2 lead and kept that pace up in the second half to earn the win over Attleboro. Mansfield junior Hunter Ferreira had his way, scoring eight goals while notching an assist as well. Midfield Joe Cox was a top distributor, recording five assists while finding the back of the net once. Cullen Murphy and Danny DeGirolamo each scored once and had two assists and Sam O’Connell scored once. Sean Powers made nine saves in net for the Hornets.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Foxboro, 6 – FinalFoxboro goalie Jake Addeche turned away 11 shuts and Pat Stapleton had a strong game on defense with five groundballs as the Warriors blanked Oliver Ames. Foxboro scored three goals in each half, led by Trey Guerini’s two goals and one assist. Sophomore Pete Conley scored once and had two assists while Brendan Tully, Mike Collins and Sam Blake each scored once in the win.

North Attleboro, 6 @ Franklin, 7 – Final Franklin held a 3-2 lead at half, extended it to 7-3 early in the fourth quarter and then held off North Attleboro’s late charge of three straight goals. Franklin goalie Connor O’Rourke had 10 saves and came up big in the final minute as the Panthers held on to their one goal lead. Chase Tanner scored twice and had one assist to lead the Panthers, Kyle McEinry and Packie Watson each scored once and had an assist, Sam Arsenault had a pair of assists and Nitin Chaudhury and Jake Davis each scored once. North Attleboro’s Dan MacDonald made 15 saves to keep the Rocketeers in the contest while both Jack Dakin and Zach McGowan scored twice and had one assist. Tommy Lindstrom added a goal and an assist and Nick Moore also found the back of the net for Big Red.

Sharon, 6 @ King Philip, 14 – FinalThe Warriors opened the season with a win as senior Tim Watson accounted for eight points and classmate Paul Macrina made 13 saves in goal. Watson scored five goals and had three assists while sophomore Colin DeVellis scored twice and had three assists. John DeLuca scored twice and had one assist and Zach D’Amico had one goal, one assist and 11 groundballs for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Franklin, 13 – FinalNorth Attleboro took a 4-3 lead into the halftime break but Franklin’s offense came to life with 10 second half goals. Seven different Panthers found the back of the net, led by senior Kendall Reardon’s four goals. Annie Walsh, Erin Walsh and Kelsey MacCallum each scored two goals for Franklin. Freshman Gianna Cameron made nine saves in net while head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said freshman Alex Field played well defensively and on the draw.

King Philip, 13 @ Sharon, 7 – FinalKing Philip raced out to a 8-2 lead at halftime and never looked back to open the season with a win over Sharon. Katie Crowther, Meg Wagner and Caroline Klim each scored a pair of goals in the for the Warriors while Alli Meehan, Angela Vellante, Dana Truini, Victoria Tormey and MacKenzie Mazur each scored once. Caroline Watson made 13 saves in net for KP.

Taunton, 12 @ Milford, 11 – Final (OT)Taunton won its second game in a row to start the season thanks to a game-winning overtime goal by eighth grader Alana Tavares, her sixth of the game and 11th in the first two games of her varsity career. Delaney Powell chipped in with three goals for the Tigers and Lorna Li made 12 saves. Emily Hayley had three goals for the Hawks, while Jordyn Lombardo, Taylor Dube, and Jill Burley each had two.

Stoughton, 2 @ Attleboro, 3 – FinalAttleboro’s Shawn Gordon and Abdul Khatib each won three set thrillers to help the Bombardiers edge Stoughton and pick up their first win of the season. Shawn Gordon won 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 at first singles and Khatib won 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Eli Araujo and Ryan Gordon picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win at second doubles. Stoughton’s Tony Jordan won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles and the team of Jon Podesta and Erik Anderson won 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 at first doubles.

Foxboro, 3 @ King Philip, 2 – FinalFoxboro’s Andre Jabari won the deciding match, winning in a three-set thriller at second singles to help the Warriors edge King Philip. Jabari dropped the first set 6-7 (7-9) but battled back to win the next two 6-3, 6-3 to earn Foxboro the win. Foxboro swept doubles play for its other two points. The team Shawn McNamara and Matt Tierney won 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles and Brandon Wasserman and Ben Dorman won 6-4, 6-2 at second doubles. King Philip’s Cole Ginter won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and Blake Ginter won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles.

Paulina Martin won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Sarah Doyle took second singles 6-1, 6-0 and Elizabeth Elsner won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. Mansfield’s fourth win came from the team of Chloe Peters and Tessa Garufi, notching a 6-0, 6-1 victory at first doubles. Canton’s Jenna Paynter and Stelina Michaelidis won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

King Philip, 2 @ Foxboro, 3 – FinalFoxboro swept singles play to edge King Philip on Wednesday afternoon. Sophia Prinos won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Lexi Nelson didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles and Julia Muise won 7-5, 6-1 at third singles to clinch the win for the Warriors. King Philip’s Corrine Palumbo and Carly Adams won 6-4, 6-1 at first doubles and the team of Lucy Barnard and Caitlin Gonser won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles.

Franklin, 3 @ Milford, 2 – FinalFranklin won in straight sets at first and second singles and then used three-set win at second doubles to edge the Scarlet Hawks. Senior Hannah Sweeney didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and classmate Anja Deric won 6-1, 6-4 at second doubles. The team of senior Julia Hogan and junior Jillian McLaughlin won the deciding point with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 decision at second doubles. Milford’s Caitlin Cafarella won 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) at third singles and the team of seniors Victoria Beyer and Daniella Arojo won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles.

Taunton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro had to claw back at both first singles and first doubles to claim a win over North Attleboro in a rematch of last season’s epic playoff showdown. North’s Emily Chiasson dropped the first set 0-6 but rallied back to win the next two, 6-4, 6-1. The team of Gabby Duva and Azka Siddiq fell behind after losing the first set 2-6, but won a huge tiebreaker 10-8 to win the second set 7-6 and then took the third 6-3. Jordan Willis won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and the team of Katie Demontigny and Hana Hershey won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles for Big Red. Taunton’s Jillian Pagliuca won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles for the Tigers.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – FinalSophomore Nupur Shukla and freshman Emily Zhang won in straight sets, at first and second singles respectively, without dropping a game as the Eagles picked up the win. The team of juniors Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and sophomore Sachi Bhasin and Sydney Gordon won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles. Oliver Ames freshman Maura Kiernan made her varsity debut with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win at third singles.

Taunton, 3 @ North Quincy, 0 – FinalTaunton picked up its third straight sweep and second in a row on the road with a 25-14, 25-21, 25-21 win over North Quincy. The Tigers used a balanced attack with Lens Esquil leading the way with 12 kills and three blocks. Malik Charles added six kills and one block, David Fusiecki had six kills and four aces and Collin Hunter had five kills and two blocks.

Franklin, 5 @ North Attleboro, 1 – FinalFive different Panthers recorded a hit and junior Jake Noviello shined in his season debut on the mound to lead Franklin past North Attleboro. Noviello tosses six inning, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Bryan Woelfel struck out two in a shutout inning in relief. Noviello also recorded a hit and scored a run on offense. Sophomore Alex Haba went 1/3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored, senior Cam Lupien added a hit, a run and an RBI, senior Josh Macchi had a double and a run scored and senior Jake Lyons had an RBI and a hit for the Panthers.

Milford, 2 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalKing Philip senior Chris Wing tosses six innings, allowing just a pair of hits while retiring the side in order in each the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Sophomore Jack Webster recorded the save. Offensively, the Warriors notched eight hits as a team with Collin Cooke (RBI) and Ryan Coulter each recording two. Ben Furfari knocked in a pair of runs and Webster also had an RBI.

Stoughton, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – FinalOliver Ames scored a pair of runs in both the third and fourth innings while tacking on single runs in the first and sixth innings to open the season with a win. Junior Matt Muir went 2-for-4 with a pair of triples and a pair of runs scored while senior Kyle Gagliardi was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Sam Burr earned the win on the mound, scattering six hits over 6.1 innings with two runs allowed.

Franklin, 1 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalNorth rallied from a run down in the bottom of the seventh inning to open the season with a win. Sam Courtemanche led-off the inning with a double. Ashley Cangiano came in to run and scored on an Abbie Gallagher grounder. With the bases loaded, Meg Barlow (2-for-3) provided the walk-off hit with a double. Bella Erti threw a complete game for North with four strikeouts and five hits allowed.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Stoughton, 6 – FinalGina Carafa threw a five-hit shutout for the Black Knights, striking out eight and only walking one. Alessandra Loffredo provided Stoughton with offense from the nine-hole, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth. Victoria Ziner went 2-for-2 and reached base three times for OA.

Sharon, 0 @ Taunton, 19 – Final (5 inn.)The Tigers got off to a dominant start behind three, one-hit innings and six strikeouts from Courtney Fisher, who also went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Jamie Brown went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and an RBI and Kya Enos, Jaylin Couto, Hannah Aldrich, and Rebekah Lajoie each had two hits apiece for Taunton. Lajoie drove in four runs.

Attleboro, 6 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final (2OT)Zach Thomas scored his second of the game with less than a minute to play to tie the game and junior Alex Banner netted the game-winner in double overtime to lift the Bombardiers past OA. Cam Littig added a pair of goals for Attleboro while senior Andrew Milliken scored once. Banner, Seth Lombardy and Zach Viau each notched an assist as well. Sophomore Trevor Koppy made 14 saves in net for the Bombardiers, who battled back from a 3-1 deficit at halftime. Head coach Kevin Koppy credited the play of defensemen Jim Nordberg, Matt Potter, Chris Reynolds and Tyler Koppy for holding the Tigers to just two goals in the second half. For Oliver Ames, Eric LeBlanc scored a pair of goals while Owen Gallagher, Jack Lang and Colin Bourne each scored once.

Foxboro, 17 @ Norwood, 2 – Final

North Attleboro, 7 @ Bishop Feehan, 6 – Final (OT) North Attleboro senior Colin Young scored his lone goal of the game in the overtime period to lift the Rocketeers. Tommy Lindstrom netted a hat trick while Zach McGowan added a pair of goals and one assist and Jack Dakin notched three assists. Nick Moore scored once and set up Young for the game-winner. Dan McDonald had 13 saves in the cage for Big Red.

Nick Santucci went 2-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, Josh Macchi went 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Mike Skaza was 3-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Jason Ulrickson was 3-4 with an RBI, Joe Corsi had a hit, two runs and an RBI, Brad Jarosz went 1-1 with an RBI and Alex Bissanti had an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Hodgkins added three hits for Franklin, including a double, and scored a run. Oliver Ames, 2 vs. New Bedford, 1 – Final – With the game knotted at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Oliver Ames senior Ryan Adams cracked an RBI triple to drive in Matt Muir as the Tigers edged the Whalers. Muir led off the inning with a walk and was sacrificed over by Chris Romero, setting the stage for Adams’ hit. Sam Burr pitched four shutout winnings for the Tigers to get the win.

Sharon, 0 @ North Quincy, 4 – Final

Taunton, 0 @ Durfee, 1 – Final – Taunton freshman Jack Moynihan was terrific on the mound for the Tigers but was the tough luck loser as the Taunton offense was unable to get anything going. Moynihan pitched six innings, allowing just the one run while striking out five. Moynihan only allowed four base runners, three hits and one walk.

King Philip, 6 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 4 – Final King Philip’s Brooke Taute had a two-out, two-run home run in the top of the seventh, breaking a tie game and giving the Warriors the win on the road. KP originally captured a 4-3 lead on a two-out, two-run single from Caeli Bench in the top of the fifth inning. Chris Wagner, Hailey McCasland, and Ashley Hession each had two hits for KP. Freshman Elise Pereira had an RBI bunt single in the game and battled for a hard fought walk in the seventh inning. Kali Magane for the win for KP, scattering six hits while fanning 12 batters.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Durfee, 2 – Final – Liz Morehouse knocked in a pair of runs with two hits and Amelia Murphy fanned seven batters as the Rocketeers picked up the win on the road. Mycala Moody and Meg Barlow each had three hits in the win and Gina Miceli added a pair of hits for Big Red.

King Philip, 5 vs. North Quincy, 1 – Final

Stoughton, 6 vs. Brockton, 8 – Final (8 inn.) – Justin Hutchinson struck out seven in a seven inning effort, allowing just six hits and one earned run. Hutchinson played a role on offense as well, going 2-3 with three RBI. Senior catcher Jake Gibb also went 3-5 with a double and a run scored for the Black Knights.

Taunton, 11 vs. New Bedford, 5 – Final – Freshman Jack Moynihan earned his first varsity win, allowing just one earned run in four innings of work. Moynihan allowed four hits while striking out four Whaler batters. Sophomore Joe Manchester paced the offense with a pair of hits and three RBI while senior Luke Figueira had two hits, two runs and an RBI and senior Brendon Mazerolle had three hits, three rubs and a pair of RBI.

Milford, 17 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final (5 inn.)

Taunton, 15 @ New Bedford, 1 – Final (6 inn.) – Jordan Wade had four hits and Meghan Navarro knocked in three runs to lead the Tigers. Wade went 4-5 with a triple and a pair of RBI while Navarro was 2-5 with the three RBI. Kya Enos went 3-5 with an RBI, Aimee Kistner had a home run, Becka Lajoie went 2-2 with a double and an RBI and Courtney Fisher was 2-2 with a double and three RBI. Kistner got her 10th win of the season, tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Fisher pitched the final two innings, striking out three while allowing one run.

Foxboro, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final

Franklin, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – The Panthers picked up their third win of the week and second in as many days, sweeping Milford. Rahul Herur, Eli Brooks and Dan Barrow swept at first, second and third singles, respectively. Tom Mancini and James Johnston won at first doubles and Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu won at second doubles for Franklin.

Sharon, 5 @ King Philip, 0 – Final – The Eagles of Sharon soared to a sweep at the road against a strong King Philip team. Griffin Fein won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Fred Bondar won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles and Andre Olivei won 6-3, 6-2 at third singles for Sharon. Alex Romantz and Adam Dobbin won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Tilak Mehta and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-3, 6-2 at second doubles.

Mitchell Dyer won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, Zack Pfeffer won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles and Barsomo Nuay won 6-3, 6-1 at third singles. The team of seniors Jeff Yao and Nick Lockavitch won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles and seniors Ben Scott and Duncan Pickett won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles for the Rocketeers.

Taunton, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – The Taunton Tigers picked up their third win in a row, sweeping doubles play and getting one win at singles to edge OA. Mike Briggs won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles, the team of Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske won 7-6, 7-5 at first doubles and Kyle Medas and Dylan Kullas won 6-3, 6-3 at second doubles for Taunton. OA’s Thomas O’Leary and Greg Weinstein won in straight sets at first and second singles, respectively.

Sophomore Lulu Yuan won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, freshman Nupur Shulka won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Akhila Songadi and Sydney Gordon won 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 10-5 at first doubles and freshmen Sophia Fein and Sachi Bhasin won 7-5, 6-2 at second doubles.

The team of Emily Chiasson and Gabby Duva won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles and Katie Demontigny and Azka Siddiq paired up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Mansfield, 1 @ Attleboro, 5 – Final – Attleboro starting pitching Nolan Kane was superb in six innings of work, allowing just one unearned run. Kane struck out four and allowed just three hits to get the win. At the plate, Dakota Kirby was 3-3 with a big two RBI double in the sixth inning and Nate Tellier had a pair of hits, scored one run and had a stolen base. Attleboro head coach Matt Bosh noted that Brandon Galvao played excellent defense at first base. Matt Callahan came in and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the Bombardiers.

Canton, 2 @ Stoughton, 13 – Final – Ryan Sullivan did it all for the Black Knights, picking up the win on the mound and helping his cause at the plate. Sullivan tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and a pair of walks while striking out four. At the plate, he scored three runs and knocked in a pair of runs. Luke Johnson led Stoughton’s offense, hitting a triple with the bases loaded and finished with another triple a run scored and five RBI. Jake Gibb went 2-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, Doug Seaman scored two runs, Justin Hutchinson drove in a pair of runs and Nick Quattrucci also had a triple.

Sharon, 4 @ Foxboro, 8 – Final – Darren Kelly and Jesse Galanti each reached base three times and came around to score three runs each to pace Foxboro’s offense. Nick Wright and Steve Couroupacis combined on the mound for seven strikeouts.

Franklin, 6 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – Franklin used a four run seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and secure the win. With the bases loaded and two outs, Franklin sophomore Jake Noviello’s fly ball fell in the infield for a pair of runs and Mike Skaza followed with a two run single to create the separation. North Attleboro took a 1-0 lead in the first inning behind an RBI single from Ridge Olsen, scoring Kyle McCarthy (single). The Panthers tied it up in the top of the third when Ryan Hodgkins singled, stole second and was sacrificed to third. He scored on a sacrifice fly from Nick Santucci. Franklin took the lead in the top of the fifth when Tyler Gomes singled in Hodgkins (triple). The Rocketeers quickly tied things up in the bottom of the inning behind a home run from sophomore Zach DeMattio. Hodgkins finished 2-4 with a pair of runs, Jake Lyons was 2/2 with a run and Santucci finished with three walks, a run and an RBI. Jake Noviello went six innings, striking out a pair while allowing two runs on four hits. Jason Ulrickson closed the game out for Franklin. North Attleboro’s Andy Katch was stellar in 6.2 innings of work, striking out three.

Taunton, 3 @ King Philip, 4 – Final

Milford, 10 @ Oliver Ames, 11 – Final (12 inn.) – In a back and forth affair, Oliver Ames was able to prevail in the 12th inning. Sophomore Mitch Goulet led off the inning with a single, was sacrificed to second and the Tigers walked off on an RBI single from sophomore Matt Muir. Muir and senior Chris Romero each had three hits for the Tigers.

Softball
Attleboro, 4 @ Mansfield, 6 – Final – Mansfield’s Rachel Carafa went 2-3 with an RBI, Maddie Letendre had two hits, Megan Letendre had an RBI and Kara Bendanillo and Jocelyn Reardon each had a hit for the Hornets. Maddie Letendre allowed just three hits while striking out nine for the win.

Stoughton, 3 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Gina Carafa pitched well for the Black Knights, giving up one run on five hits and striking out eight for the win. Offensively, Stoughton was led by Jordan Lyons, Jenni D’Andrea and Nicole Bodette, who got a pair of hits each. Bri Ferrandiz (RBI), Gina Carafa and Sam Tullis also got hits in the win for the Black Knights.

Foxboro, 5 @ Sharon, 8 – Final – Sharon junior Clara Cook threw a complete game, collecting 11 strikeouts and allowing eight hits. Offensively, Cook was 2-4 with a first inning RBI triple and a sixth inning RBI single. Senior catcher Rachel Usen and freshman Rebecca Clayman were also also 2-4, each recording a pair of singles. Sharon head coach Deb Parker said freshman Jody Goldenberg played an outstanding game in right field.

Franklin, 9 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – Maddie Connelly and Alexx Niss each knocked in three runs as Franklin picked up a big win over division rival North Attleboro. Connelly went 4-5 with three RBI while Niss had a three-run home run along with three walks. Olivia DiGiacomo added a two RBI double, Clara DeCarvalho had three hits and Olivia Haba had three hits and an RBI. Caroline D’Aprile picked up the win, going five innings with five strikeouts. Emily Sawyer pitched the final two innings for the Panthers.

King Philip, 0 @ Taunton, 2 – Final

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Milford, 10 – Final – It was another perfect day at the plate for sophomore Emily Piergustavo, going 3-3 with a double and an RBI. Shannon Cormier went 2-2 with a pair of RBI and Maggie Farrell knocked in a pair and had a triple. Maddy Bonvino was 2/3 with a double and Jess Tomaso was 1/2 with a sacrifice fly. Ali Atherton tossed a complete game, striking out eight. Oliver Ames’ Rachel Han was 3-4 with a pair of singles, a double and two RBI. Victoria Ziner was 2-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Lexie Campbell (1-3, two runs scored) and Jamie Gottwald also scored for the Tigers on Han’s double.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 14 – Final – Ten different players found the back of the net for King Philip, who built a big lead and never let it go. Freshman Collin DeVellis led the Warriors with a hat trick and one assist while juniors John DeLuca and Ben Palmer each netted a pair of goals and had one assist. Freshman Robbie Tartaglia scored his first career goal in the win.

Canton, 8 @ North Attleboro, 7 – Final (2OT) – Ben O’Neill scored a team-high five goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime to give the Bulldogs a big league win. The Bulldogs trailed 6-4 at halftime but were able to limit Big Red to just one goal in the second half and overtime periods. Canton goalie Chris Albert was a big reason for that with 19 saves. Joe Mulkay, Dan Dillon and Mike Shaw each scored once and Shaun Kirby finished with three assists for Canton.

Milford, 1 @ Foxboro, 25 – Final – Louis Piccolo was in the giving mood on Wednesday, recording a career-high 10 assists in the Warriors’ big win. Piccolo also scored twice while Andrew Whalen scored four goals and had one assist, Trey Guerrini scored four goals and had two assists, Colby Nickerson notched a hat trick and Brian Buckner had one goal and one assist.

Mansfield, 7 @ Franklin, 15 – Final – The Panthers built a six goal lead by halftime and stretched the margin to double figures (16-5) by the start of the fourth quarter. Austin Kent led Franklin with eight points, scoring five goals and adding three assists while sophomore Eric Civetti scored six goals and had one assist. Sam Arsenault added a hat trick in the for Franklin. Freshman Jacob Alexander continued his dominance at the X, winning 23/28 faceoffs. Franklin head coach Lou Verrochi touted the play of his defense in front of sophomore goalie Connor O’Rourke (six saves).

Benny Lin picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles, freshman Luke Nickerson won 6-1, 7-5 at second singles and Gus Daganhardt won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Mansfield’s final point came from Danny Radev and Sam Cavicchi with a 6-1, 7-5 win at first doubles. Attleboro’s Khaled Hantash and Ahijah Joseph won 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 at second doubles.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – Final – King Philip handled business against the visiting Tigers, taking all five matches in straight sets. Cole Ginter won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles, Garrett Schneider won 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles and Blake Ginter won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. KP’s Sam Colella and Ryan Gemelli won 6-2, 6-2 at first doubles and Justin Rohan and Jake Webster paired for a 6-0, 6-1 victory at second doubles.

Paulina Martin won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and Kathleen Giffels won by the same score at second singles. Sophomore Sarah Doyle won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles. Mansfield senior Cathryn Heavey and junior Chloe Peters won 6-0, 6-0 and freshmen Tessa Garufi and Elizabeth Elsner won 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8) at second doubles.

Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 4 – Final – Canton swept through singles play and added a fourth win via first doubles against rival Stoughton. Carly Scanlon won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Skyler Jabbour won by the same score at second singles and Jude Aboukhater won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. The Bulldogs wrapped up the win behind a 6-2, 6-1 victory from Tiffany Ha and Sarah MacQuarrie at first doubles. Stoughton’s Becca Lawson and Alyssa McGillicuddy battled back for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Foxboro, 2 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – Sharon freshman Nupur Shulka won a three set thriller to clinch the match for the Eagles. Shulka dropped the first set but battled back for a 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 win to hand Sharon the win. The Eagles swept doubles play to help clinch the win. Pooja Puttigampala and Katie Merport won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Michelle Cao and Rithica Neti won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Diana Prinos won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and Sophia Prinos won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.

Franklin, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – The Rocketeers continued their undefeated start to the season with a sweep of visiting Franklin. Julia Mark picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at first singles, Jordan Willis won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles and Allie Grinavic won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles. The Rocketeers continued to win in doubles play with Jhanavi Kapadia and Emily Chiasson winning 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Gabby Duva and Azka Siddiq winning 6-2, 6-2 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames swept singles play and notched a win at second doubles to secure the win on the road. Mansfield, 12 @ Barnstable, 10 – Final – Mansfield trailed 7-4 at halftime but rallied for a 8-3 second half to get the win. Sophomore Hunter Ferreira scored a team-high five goals, three in the second half. Billy Grant scored four goals and had two assists while Danny DeGirolamo, Connor Finerty and Ryan Smith each scored once. Sean Powers made 16 saves in net.

Canton’s Ryan Lodge scored two goals and Shaun Kirby, Eddie McCabe, and Ben O’Neill each scored once.

Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 16 – Final – Caroline Lounsbury netted a hat trick and Halle Atkinson and Lauren DeStefano each scored their first varsity goals. Head coach Kristin Igoe said Grace McDermott played well on defense, causing two turnovers.

Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – Senior Mitchell Dyer battled to win at first singles to lead the Rocketeers to a win. Dyer picked up a win over talented freshman Jeevith Chandresekan, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. North also got wins from Jeff Yao and Nick Lockovitch (6-3, 3-6, 6-0) at first doubles and Jake Fontes and Daniel Zhang (6-4, 6-2) at second doubles. Canton sophomore Jake Wolicki won 6-4, 6-0 at second singles and senior Nathan Maltz won 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at third singles.

Oliver Ames, 2 vs. Brockton, 3 – Final

Taunton, 5 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 0 – Final – The Tigers swept their city rivals behind 6-0, 6-0 wins at first singles by Brett Beaulieu and third singles by Mike Briggs. Tom Morrissey picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at second singles while Connor Briggs and Charlie Fiske had a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles and Kyle Dennehy and Trevor Hart won 6-2, 6-2 at second doubles.

North Attleboro @ Canton, 0 – Final – The Rocketeers started the season off in style with a sweep on the road. Julia Mark won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles, Jordan Willis won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles and Allie Grinavic took care of third singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Jhanavi Kapadia and Emily Chiasson paired up for a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles and Gabby Duva and Azka Siddiq took home a 6-0, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Brockton, 1 – Final – Valeria Tueme’s back and forth win at second singles sparked the Tigers to a season opening win. Tueme won 6-4, 7-5 while freshman Sarah Leger debuted with a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles. Seniors Jackie Sulkala and Lark Warner paired together for a 6-2, 6-1 at first doubles and sophomore Rachel Stryke and junior Claudia Ferrara battled for a 7-5, 6-2 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 4 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 1 – Final – Taunton picked up a win behind sweeps at first singles and second doubles. Jordan Pagliuca won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and the team of Caroline Herbert and Jillian Pagliuca won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles. Olivia Sweeney won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and Ashleigh Eason and Kelsey Herbert won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles. 

Boys Volleyball
Milford, 1 vs. Algonquin, 3 – Final – Milford won the third game but Algonquin shut the door with a win in the fourth game to beat the Scarlet Hawks (17-25, 23-25, 25-22, 21-25). Mike Haver had 10 kills and a pair of blocks and strong serving from Nick Roy helped the Scarlet Hawks win the third game. Juan Ruelas added six digs, four assists, four kills, an ace and a block for Milford. 

Taunton, 1 vs. North Quincy, 3 – Final – Taunton picked up a win in the third game but couldn’t complete the comeback against North Quincy, losing 22-25, 21-25, 25-18, 22-25. Ricardo DaFonseca led the Tigers with 34 assists, six digs, two aces, a block and a kill. Lance Law had 16 kills, eight digs, two aces and a block and Lens Esquil added nine kills, three blocks and three digs.
