Player of the Week: Kyla Nashawaty, Milford Soccer

By HockomockSports.com Staff
Milford junior Kyla Nashawaty has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for Oct. 26 through Nov. 1. Nashawaty is the ninth athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year.
Nashawaty scored four goals and had three assists last week, as Milford won its final two games of the regular season, earning a top 32 spot in the Div. 2 rankings.and its first playoff berth since 2019. Nashawaty finished second in the league in goals and third in scoring during the regular season with 22 goals and 10 assists.
“Kyla goes through so much,” said Milford coach Lou Colabello. “She’s got three girls marking her all the time and is still able to do the things she still does and put up the totals she puts up. She’s so important in the box, she’s so active, she uses her head and she makes everyone else around her better.
It was a crucial week for the Hawks, who entered it at No. 29 in D2. On Monday, Milford faced essentially a playoff game against North Attleboro, which was just outside the top 32, and Nashawaty scored twice, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 victory. The Hawks wrapped up the regular season with a dominant win over South High. Nashawaty scored twice and dished out three assists in an 8-0 victory. On Monday night, Nashwaty wasn’t on the score sheet for the Hawks, but she led the line and harried the Billerica defense as Milford secured its first playoff win since 2013.
The Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, is selected by the HockomockSports.com staff. Nominations can be submitted throughout the week up until Saturday night at 8:00 PM. There may be a poll posted on Sunday with the nominations. The results of the poll influence the selection but do not strictly dictate the decision.
