Oliver Ames, 0 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Attleboro junior Will Halben scored the lone goal of the game in the 10th minute and senior goalie Nick Hasenfus had a strong performance in goal to help the Bombardiers score an upset of top-ranked OA.
Canton, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Canton junior Paul Corcoran broke the deadlock with 15 minutes to play, netting the game-winner to help the Bulldogs earn two points on the road. Canton junior Avery Minkin scored his first career goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead entering halftime. Sharon senior Christian Villanueva scored the equalizer early in the second half before Corcoran netted the winner.
Foxboro, 4 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Foxboro scored three goals in the second half to secure two points on the road at Milford. Hussein Kafel opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing a rebound off a shot from Ryan Kelley. Kafel doubled Foxboro’s lead in the second half but Milford cut the deficit in half with a penalty kick. Matt Garcia and Dylan Barreira scored in the final 20 minutes to ice the game. Shane VandenBoom had two assists in the win for Foxboro.
Franklin, 0 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Mansfield senior John Cooney netted the lone tally of the game and senior keeper Nick Ferraz made a pair of highlight saves in the first half to help the Hornets preserve the lead, and the win, against the visiting Panthers. Cullin Anastasia set up Cooney for the only goal.
Taunton, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – King Philip erased a one-goal first half deficit, scoring once before the halftime break to knot the score, and then again early in the second half for the winner. THS took the lead in the 17th minute but KP scored in the 31st minute with Mike Rowe nodding in a corner kick from Camron Lawrence. The Warriors scored the winner in the 44th minute when Cam Koch latched onto a loose ball in the area, burying it backside to make it 2-1.
Stoughton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro scored a pair of first half goals, and then survived an early second half strike from the visitors to stay in first place. Joe Hilf (14th minute) and Gabe Pinhancos (33rd minute) each converted breakaway chances to put the hosts up 2-0. Stoughton’s Jayden Falise buried a rebound on a chance from Ritchy Laguerre to make it 2-1. Pinhancos then buried a chance from the top of the box in the 60th minute, and James Sales capped the scoring with his first career goal in the 68th minute on an assist from Ryan Pasquel.
Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – Isabella Salviati scored the game’s lone goal on what Attleboro coach Steve Santos described as a “great hustle play.” OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Emily Nosalek and Sofia Masciarelli played well in defeat.
Canton, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Riley Duserick scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to the victory that clinches Canton a return to the state tournament. Morgan McCabe and Elisa Diletizia also scored for the Bulldogs and Leianna Brune recorded an assist. Ally Filipkowski scored both goals for the Eagles in the loss. Bridget McManus and Keegan Veazey recorded assists for Sharon.
Milford, 0 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final Lily Sykes scored two goals, including a 40-yard strike, and had an assist for the Warriors. The second goal was the 50th of her career. Shaina Abbott and Jordyn Collins had the other two goals for the Warriors. Milford coach Jay Mastaj said that Juliana France, Rachel LeBlanc and Brianna Braza had good games for the Hawks.
Mansfield, 5 @ Franklin, 1 – Final The Hornets broke open a 1-1 tie with four second half goals and stayed tied atop the Kelley-Rex division standings. Taylor Smith had a brace and an assist for Mansfield, while Cassidy McMahon, Stephanie Kemp, and Amanda Mangano each had goals and Emily Vigeant had a pair of assists for the Hornets.
King Philip, 5 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Avery Snead scored two goals and Chloe Layne, Abby Baker, and Emma Durant each had one for the Warriors. Emily O’Gara scored the lone goal for the Tigers. Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game.
North Attleboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – North Attleboro deposited all three of its goals in the first half to beat Stoughton and clinch the 2017 Hockomock League Davenport division title. Mackenzie Rosenberg had a pair of assists in a five-minute span, setting up Emma Gaulin for the opener and then Asyln Gaulin to make it 2-0. In the 28th minute, Haley Guertin made it 3-0 on a feed from Leah Jette. Nina Beauvais recorded the shutout in net for the Rocketeers.
Volleyball
Canton, 1 vs. Notre Dame Academy, 3 – Final – Canton split the first two games, but NDA rolled to two straight wins to grab the victory 15-25, 25-19, 9-25, 21-25. Hannah Jerrier had 13 kills and two blocks and Nicole Brown had 27 assists for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Foxboro scored a pair of goals in the first half and earned its eighth shutout of the season with a win at Stoughton. Shane VandenBoom scored a goal and had an assist to pace the Warriors. Ryan Kelley also scored while junior Matt Garcia had an assist.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ King Philip, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames scored just over midway through the first half but King Philip equalized early in the second half as the teams each took a point. Senior James Gillespie finished off a long throw from Chris Lawrence to put OA head 1-0 in the 22nd minutes. King Philip tied it in the 48th minute when Connor Mullins scored on an assist from Anthony Bozza.
Sharon, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro worked its way to a 2-0 lead by halftime and added a late insurance goal to pick up two points against visiting Sharon. Senior Gabe Pinhancos intercepted a pass and opened the scoring in the 16th minute for the Rocketeers. Then just before half, sophomore Dylan Corrigan played junior Joe Hilf in behind the defense and Hilf scored to make it 2-0. Sharon cut the deficit to one in the 62nd minute when sophomore Michael Baur converted a free kick from just outside the area. But North iced the game when Pinhancos drew a penalty kick and Hilf converted in the 66th minute.
Girls Soccer
Mansfield, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Mansfield juniors Steph Kemp and Sydney Mulkern each scored a pair of goals while Cassidy McMahon also registered two points with a goal and assist as the Hornets rolled on the road. Allie Reef, Amanda Mangano, Emma Oldow and Kemp each finished with one assist.
Stoughton, 0 @ Foxboro, 6 – Final – Foxboro’s offense netted four goals in the second half to break the game open, earn two points, and qualify for the state tournament. Junior Mackenzi Fraser and sophomore Lizzy Davis each scored two goals in the win while senior Lily Sykes finished with two assists. Kendra Wentling converted a penalty kick and Katelyn Mollica also found the back of the net in the Warriors’ win.
Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Anna Balkus scored the game’s only goal midway through the second half to give the Panthers a narrow win and a sweep of the season series. Grace Pimenta made 13 saves in defeat for the Tigers.
King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – King Philip scored once in the first half and added two goals in the second half to avenge its lone loss of the season with a win at OA. Ally Stanton opened the scoring in the 36th minute, one-timing a cross from Makayla Griffin. Griffin grabbed her second assist in the 69th minute when she picked out sophomore Avery Snead for a header. Snead then iced the game with her second goal four minutes later, heading in a corner from Emma Cocoran. OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Sophia Cox and Regan Benton played well for the Tigers.
North Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Sharon’s Fallon Pfeifer put the Eagles ahead but North Attleboro scored once in each half to earn the win. Emma Gaulin tied the game in the first half, converting a feed from MacKenzie Rosenberg. North’s Ashlyn Gaulin netted the game-winning off a corner kick in the second half for the game-winner.
Golf
Attleboro, 161 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 169 – Final – Attleboro moved within one win of qualifying for the state tournament with a non-league win over visiting Dighton-Rehoboth. Kyle DelSignore earned match medalist honors for the second straight match, firing a 39 for the Bombardiers. Ethan Johnson carded a 40 while Jack Handy and Brian Houle each shot 41 for Attleboro.
North Attleboro, 158 @ Canton, 148 – Final – Canton’s Joey Vaughan fired a low-round of 35, earning medalist honors to lead the Bulldogs over North Attleboro. The win sets up a showdown with Oliver Ames for a battle of unbeatens. Tommy Dimock and Thomas Singleton each shot 37 for Canton while Dylan Kane carded a round of 37 to lead the Rocketeers.
Franklin, 170 @ Sharon, 181 – Final
Oliver Ames, 165 @ Taunton, 178 – Final – Oliver Ames picked up a win over Taunton to set up a showdown of undefeated teams on Wednesday when the Tigers host Canton. Tate Hadges earned medalist honors, carding a low-round of 39. Ryan McGarry shot 40 for the Tigers, Nolan Donze carded a round of 41 and sophomore Kyle Gramer fired a 45.

Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final – Foxboro scored three goals in the opening 10 minutes and never looked back in a win over visiting Sharon. Shane VandenBoom, Nic Biegel, and Matt Rongione each scored to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead. VandenBoom converted a penalty kick in the second half for the final tally. VandenBoom also had an assist, as did keeper Bobby Harrison.
Oliver Ames, 4 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Matt Alvarado scored his first of two goals in the first half and Oliver Ames added three more in the second half to grab two points on the road. Alvarado’s goal, assisted by Nathaniel Cardoza, gave the visitor’s a 1-0 lead at the break. Michael Nikiciuk put OA up 2-0 before the Panthers cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Alvardo and James Gillespie added goals to give the Tigers insurance. Cardoza finished with three assists while Brandin Osborne had one.
Mansfield, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Mansfield scored three goals in the second half to turn a close game into a big win on the road. Cullin Anastasia opened the scoring on a Luke Savoie corner in the 34th minute to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead at the break. Sam Hyland converted off another Savoie corner in the 58th minute to make it 2-0. Four minutes later, Anastasia grabbed his second on a penalty kick. Jackson Murphy capped the scoring in the 70th minute on an assist from Colin Caridi. Nick Ferraz made three saves for his fourth shutout of the season.
Milford, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Milford scored once in each half to pick up two points on the road at Stoughton. Sophomore Walisson de Oliveira kept his hot streak going, opening the scoring in the first half on a volley on a feed from Joey Madden. Anthony Salvadore added an unassisted tally in the second half for the Scarlet Hawks. MHS head coach Brian Edwards said freshman Leo Coelho and sophomore Bryan Traya both played great in the midfield.
Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 6 – Final – The Warriors got a combined five goals and six assists from sophomores Avery Snead and Chloe Layne to stay in a tie at the top of the Kelley-Rex standings. Makayla Griffin opened the scoring in the second minute off a Layne assist and then Layne added her first 14 minutes later on a Snead assist. Four minutes later, Layne set up Snead for a third goal. Julia Hayes scored off a 20-yard free kick for Attleboro’s lone goal, but KP added three in the second half. Layne scored on a Snead assist five minutes after the break and then the same combo added another four minutes later. In the 58th minute, Snead added an unassisted goal to wrap up the scoring.
Canton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro set the tone early, scoring the opener less than three minutes into the game. Big Red then added one late in the first half and two more in the final five minutes of the game. Kayla Pasquel netted the opener on an assist from Aine Mendonca in the third minute. Haley Guertin, assisted by Leah Jette, made it 2-0 with just two minutes to play in the first half. Emma Gaulin made it 3-0 in favor of Big Red with four minutes left in the game off an assist from Ashlyn Gaulin and then Guertin finished the scoring on a feed from Haley Ferrin with just a minute to play. Emma Noreck earned the shutout in net – “with a smothering defense in front of her,” said NAHS head coach Bill Wallace.
Foxboro, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Foxboro took a 2-0 lead into halftime and broke the game open with four goals in the second half. Mackenzie Fraser netted a pair of goals for the Warriors while Lily Sykes, Shaina Abbott, Katelyn Mollica and Yara Fawaz each scored once. “We played with a lot of energy and passion today,” noted Foxboro head coach Katie Stalcup.
Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Jackie Mills scored a last-minute goal, her second of the game, to secure a dramatic two points for the Tigers. Franklin had a chance from the penalty spot in the second half, but OA defender Maggie Ault stepped in between the pipes (starting goalie Regan Benton was forced to the bench with a yellow card) and made the save. Anabella Walsh and Abby Reardon had assists for the Tigers.
Taunton, 0 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – The Hornets stayed in a first-place tie atop the Kelley-Rex behind a Stephanie Kemp brace. Cassidy McMahon added a goal and two assists and Emily Vigeant scored one for the Hornets.
Stoughton, 1 @ Milford, 5 – Final – Milford senior Leeanne Kibbee and Ashleigh Starks each scored a pair of goals as Milford cruised to a win at home. Senior Maggie Boyle also found the back of the net while freshman goalie Carly Ferreira notched her first career win. Mia Greene had the goal for the Black Knights.
Volleyball
King Philip, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – King Philip bounced back from an opening set loss to earn a win on the road, beating Attleboro 19-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-9. Sydney Phillips led the offense with 11 kills, Michaela Palumbo had five kills with five service points, including four aces and Rachael Veillieux had 18 service points, including eight aces. Kat Kmetz added 10 service points and five kills and Grace Ely chipped in with five kills.
North Attleboro, 3 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Despite falling behind 2-0, North Attleboro rallied with three straight wins to pick up a big division win on the road (20-25, 22-25, 25-15, 25-8, 15-8). Amelia Murphy led the offense with 22 kills and four blocks while classmate Kezia De La Cruz had 15 kills and four aces. Leah Marceau put the offense in motion with 28 assists. For Canton, Nicole Brown had 20 assists, 11 digs, and four kills, Hannah Jerrier had 10 kills, and Megan McDonough had 15 digs and a pair of aces.
Sharon, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final
Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin junior Lauren McGrath spread the ball around in the Panthers sweep of the Tigers, recording 29 assists as well as three kills and two aces. Maggie Doyle (four blocks), Meaghan Maguire (two blocks) and Hailey Sanders (block) each had six kills for Franklin. For Oliver Ames, Katie Flynn had seven kills while junior Sadie Homer had 22 serve receptions and 10 digs.
Mansfield, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Mansfield snapped its three-game skid with a 25-23, 25-13, 25-14 win on the road at Taunton. Meg Hill had a team-high 18 kills while Julia Harrison added 10 kills. Emma Ascoli had 28 assists and 10 service points and Lexi Gardner had 17 service points and four kills.
Milford, 1 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton picked up its 13th win of the season with a 3-1 decision over visiting Milford. Senior Val Whalen led the way for the Black Knights with 13 kills, 14 digs, and nine aces while Junior Hanna Holden chipped in with 13 digs and eight assists.
Golf
Canton, 170 @ Sharon, 176 – Final – Canton’s Thomas Singleton and Sharon’s Corey Carter shared match medalist honors, each carding a round of 40 but the Bulldogs came away with a close win. Joey Vaughan shot a 41 whole Chris Lavoie added a round of 44 in the win. Matt Grosser shot a round of 44 for the Eagles.
Franklin, 168 vs. Medway, 170 – Final
Oliver Ames, 145 @ King Philip, 159 – Final – Oliver Ames seniors Ryan McGarry and Mark Bissonette earned co-medalist honors, each carding a low-round of 35 to lead the Tigers to their 12th win of the season. Nolan Donze shot a 37 and Matt Kelley added a round of 38 in the win.
Taunton, 100 @ New Bedford, 73 – Final (Stableford) – Taunton picked up a win on the road, beating New Bedford in a match decided by Stableford points system. Jack Patneaude led the way with a 42 for the Tigers while Spencer Andrews shot a 43 and Jack Giebel carded a 44.

Foxboro, 4 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Foxboro raced out to a 3-0 lead by halftime and never looked back, picking up two points on the road. Hussein Kafel scored both of his goals in the first half while Nic Biegel also found the back of the net in the opening stanza. Cam Cass added a goal in the second half for Foxboro. Shane VandenBoom had two assists in the win while Cass and Dylan Barreira each had one.
Canton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames James Gillespie scored early in the second half to help the Tigers beat visiting Canton. Gillespie converted after a touch from Nathaniel Cardoza off of a long throw from Chris Lawrence. Jack Carroll came up with a big save late to preserve the win.
Sharon, 1 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – Franklin took the lead in the first half but Sharon senior Tyler Goldstein pounced on a loose ball inside the area in the final minutes to net the equalizer.
North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip got off to a strong start with senior Thomas Lugten netting a pair of goals inside the first 10 minutes as the Warriors handed North its first loss of the season. Senior Tyler Mann and freshman Ajae Olsen scored second half goals for KP.
Milford, 2 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Milford twice took the lead on the road, but Mansfield responded each time to earn the draw. The Scarlet Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute when sophomore Walisson de Oliveira buried a free kick from just outside the area. Mansfield tied the game when Jared Gabrilowitz converted a corner from Luke Savoie in the 24th minute. Milford went back on top in the 32nd minute when Claudio Da Silva sprang de Oliveira on the break and he scored. The Hornets grabbed the equalizer with just seven minutes to play with Nick Hyland heading in a throw-in from his brother Sam.
Stoughton, 1 @ Taunton, 5 – Final – Taunton junior Brett Beaulieu scored a hat trick to lead the Tigers to their first Hockomock League since October 2015, snapping a 32-game skid. Beaulieu scored one unassisted while the other two were set up by Alec Nunes. Beaulieu also had an assist, setting up classmate Charlie Fiske for his first career goal. Junior Evan Melo capped the scoring on a feed from classmate Noah Leite.

Attleboro, 2 @ Foxboro, 5 – Final – Mackenzie Fraser scored a brace and Lily Sykes added a goal from the penalty spot and three assists to help Foxboro climb back above .500 for the season. Shaina Abbott and Katelyn Mollica also scored for the Warriors. Foxboro coach Katie Stalcup said the Warriors “played really well as a team today!”

Fellow freshman Elisa Diletizia assisted on the opening goal and Sarah Collins got the assist on the second for Canton, which moves within three points of first place North Attleboro. OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Emily Nosalek and Regan Benton played well for the Tigers.
Franklin, 1 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – Molly Duncan scored the opening goal off an Emily Quaile assist to give the Panthers the lead midway through the second half, but Ally Filipkowski answered from the penalty spot with six minutes to play to earn the draw for the Eagles. Cat Robbins made three saves for Franklin in the draw. Sharon coach Brad Furnival said, “The team put in a great shift and I am pleased they had a positive result today after a few close games recently.”

Mansfield, 4 @ Milford, 2 – Final – Emily Vigeant continued her scoring streak for the Hornets with a pair of goals, while Stephanie Kemp and Cassidy McMahon also got on the score sheet for Mansfield, which moves back into a first-place tie with King Philip. Leeanne Kibbee scored for Milford off a Maggie Boyle assist and Madelyn Boyle added the second for the Hawks. Freshman goalie Carley Ferreira made four saves in the loss.

Sydney Phillips led the way with nine kills, six digs, and six service points while Michaela Palumbo added eight kills and 11 service points. Elise Pereira also had 12 digs, 12 service points, and two aces and Julianne Rando finished with 11 digs, seven service points, two kills and two aces.

North Attleboro, 168 @ Attleboro, 163 – Final – Attleboro swept the season series with rival North Attleboro, edging the Rocketeers by five strokes at Highland Country Club. Kyle DelSignore earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 39. Corey McKenna shot a 40 while Ethan Johnson and Taron Mills each shot 42. Matt Wanless led North Attleboro with a round of 40.
King Philip, 153 @ Oliver Ames, 147 – Final – Oliver Ames withstood a strong test from visiting King Philip to card a six-stroke victory. Eric LeBlanc and Matt Kelley led the way for the Tigers, each shooting 36, while Ryan McGarry carded a round of 37.
Sharon, 172 @ Stoughton, 189 – Final – Sharon’s Corey Carter and Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell shared match medalist honors, each carding a round of 40 at Easton Country Club.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Attleboro sophomore Michael Russo scored the equalizer inside the final five minutes to help the Bombardiers take a point against unbeaten North Attleboro. The Rocketeers took the lead in the first half in the 34th minute. Jeff Gale flicked on a free kick service from Gabe Pinhancos and Zach Matracia buried his volley to put Big Red up 1-0. The Bombardiers tied the see-saw game in the 77th minute, heading in a free kick from junior Aidan Lancaster.
Canton, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin scored two goals in the first half, both on assists from senior Andrew DiLeo, to beat visiting Canton. The Panthers took the lead inside the first five minutes when DiLeo set up junior Nick Barry for the game’s opener. DiLeo then assisted on junior Tim Duval’s game-winner, coming at the half-hour mark of the first half. Canton cut the deficit to one just before half.
Foxboro, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Foxboro junior Shane VandenBoom scored on both sides of halftime to lift the Warriors to a win on the road. VandenBoom opened the scoring in the 20th minute, converting a chance from Ryan Kelley. The junior then iced the game, doubling the lead in the 75th minute.
Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 10 – Final – King Philip built a 6-0 lead at halftime and never looked back in a big win over visiting Stoughton. Senior Tyler Mann and junior Anthony Bozza each scored a pair of goals, Zac White notched two helpers and senior Thomas Lugten had two assists and one goal. Senior Eric Woolson added a goal and an assist in the win.
Sharon, 2 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Mansfield raced out to a two-goal lead but the visiting Eagles battled back to earn a point on the road. Sean Lanzillo put the Hornets up 1-0 on a feed from Sam Hyland and senior Cullin Anastasia doubled the lead on an assist from Luke Savoie as Mansfield took a 2-0 advantage into halftime. Sharon cut the deficit in half when sophomore Brian Higgins netted one on a clearance off a corner kick in the 55th minute. The Eagles scored the equalizer 10 minutes later when sophomore Michael Baur scored on a free kick from just over 20 yards out.
Milford, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Cam Vella opened the scoring in the 18th minute, dispossessing a Milford player at midfield and making a darting run on goal before finishing from outside the box. The Tigers doubled its lead moments before halftime when James Gillespie won possession on the sideline and connected with Brandin Osborne, who found Nathaniel Cardoza on a run into the area for the finish. Gillespie nodded home OA’s third goal on a throw from Chris Lawrence in the 45th minute, Niko Byron made it 4-0 with his first career goal, converting a rebound off Lawrence’s shot and senior Jack Galas converted a penalty kick for his first career goal in the 75th minute. Milford senior Jacob Balzarini scored his first career goal, burying a half-volley on a corner kick.
Girls Soccer
North Attleboro, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – North Attleboro broke a tie game with just under three minutes to play to grab two points on the road. Ashlyn Gaulin continued her strong season, scoring the game-winner in the 78th minute on an assist from Leah Jetter. North Attleboro took the lead when Haley Guertin opened the scoring on a feed from Kayla Pasquel. Attleboro equalized with just under two minutes to play in the first half. North Attleboro head coach Bill Wallace added that Aine Mendonca, Felicity Monfils, Haley Ferrin and Emma Gauin all played great two-way soccer.

Taunton, 0 @ Foxboro, 6 – Final – Lizzy Davis scored a pair of goals and Lily Sykes added a goal and an assist for the Warriors. Katie Huether, Shaina Abbott and Mia Oglia also scored for Foxboro and Warriors coach Katie Stalcup said that Alex Stamatos and Sykes both had great games.
King Philip, 5 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final Avery Snead scored two goals and set up a pair of goals for classmate Chloe Layne as the Warriors earned their 11th win of the season. Emma Corcoran and Ally Stanton assisted on the Snead goals and Jenna Midura scored an unassisted goal with two minutes remaining for KP. Melina Connolly made three saves to earn the clean sheet.
Mansfield, 1 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Stephanie Kemp scored the lone goal of the game in the first half off an assist by Erin Daniel. Sharon had its chances to equalize and was “unlucky,” according to head coach Brad Furnival, including a Sabrina Robbins free kick that struck the underside of the bar.
Oliver Ames, 1 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Sofia Masciarelli scored the lone goal of the game seven minutes in to the second half off an Erin Holmberg assist. Olivia Marshall played well in net, according to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, making four saves for the Hawks.
Field Hockey
Stoughton, 6 @ Brockton, 0 – Final – Meghan Foley scored two goals to pace the Black Knights to a season sweep of Brockton. Julia Russell, Jackie Evangelista, Haley Apotheker and Kamryn Oliveira each scored once for Stoughton. Kayleigh Marinelli had her first career shutout in goal.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin picked up its eighth win of the season with a 25-15, 26-24, 25-12 sweep of visiting Canton. Lauren McGrath set the offense in motion with 31 assists, setting up Lauren Lockhart and Ellie Wisniewski (eight kills apiece). FHS head coach Kate Horsmann said Lauren Bissanti and Riley Marino both had strong serve receive and defensive games for the Panthers. Canton head coach Pat Cawley said freshman Angie Elias played well at the net while Sophia Connor had a strong game defensively.
Foxboro, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Taunton defended home court with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-18 sweep of Foxboro. Sam Reaume led the offense with 10 kills, five digs, two aces and a block while Kayli Fagan finished with 23 assists, five kills, three aces and three blocks. Sam Silviera chipped in with six kills for the Tigers.
Sharon, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Mansfield rallied after dropping the first game to win the next three, grabbing a 19-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-12 win over visiting Sharon. Julia Harrison had eight kills and eight digs, Lexi Gardner added 18 service points and six kills and Jolie O’Neil had 16 digs and 12 service points.
Milford, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – Oliver Ames edged out Milford in an incredibly close match, taking the first, third and fifth games to beat the visiting Hawks (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13). OA sophomore Ally Kemp paced the Tigers’ offense with 25 assists while senior Kayla Raymond finished with 14 kills and two blocks. Senior Emma Petrillo added eight kills and four aces, junior Sadie Homer added 15 digs and two aces and junior Grace McCallum was tabbed player of the game by head coach Chelsea Cunningham. “Her commitment to the back row was solid throughout the whole match and she held the team’s composure in the height of the match,” Cunningham said of McCallum.
Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip picked up a big win in a crossover match with Stoughton behind a balanced attack. The Warriors, who won 25-16, 25-15, 25-19, got nine kills from Sydney Phillips (four digs, two aces, seven service points), seven kills from Grace Ely and five kills from Michaela Palumbo (nine service points). Elise Pereira added eight service points, four digs and three aces in the win.

Oliver Ames, 161 @ Franklin, 170 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Ryan McGarry earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 38 to lead the Tigers to a win at Franklin Country Club. Nolan Donza, Matt Kelley, Mark Bissonette, Thomas Walsh and Eric LeBlanc all shot 41 for OA.
Canton, 173 @ Foxboro, 181 – Final – Canton punched its ticket to the MIAA state tournament for the eighth straight year, improving to 7-0 with a win over Foxboro. Jack Goyetch earned match medalist honors with a round of 41 while Thomas Singleton helped the Bulldogs with a round of 42. Joey Vaughan, Chris Lavoie and Niko Donovan each shot 45 for Canton. Logan Sloan, Matt Lathrop and Steve Foster each carded rounds of 45 for the Warriors.
Mansfield, 166 @ Attleboro, 164 – Final – Attleboro’s Ethan Johnson earned match medalist honors, shooting a low-round of 38 to lead the Bombardiers to a close win over Mansfield. Kyle DelSignore and Corey McKenna each added rounds of 41 while Taron Mills shot a 44. Freshman Brian Lee led Mansfield with a 40 while classmate Ryan Dow added a 41 for the Hornets.

OAHS head coach praised the play of Cam Vella, Mason Galbato, Matt Campbell and Colin Evin.
Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Canton junior Griffin Roach continued his strong start to the season, netting a brace in the win. Roach scored once in each half.
Mansfield, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Mansfield built a 3-0 lead over the first 25 minutes of the game and then held off a late push from the Panthers. John Cooney opened the scoring on an assist from Sean Lanzillo in the eighth minute and just three minutes later, Jared Gabrilowitz made it 2-0 on a feed from Cullin Anastasia. Nick Wisnieski converted a chance from Gabrilowitz in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0. Franklin got on the board when sophomore Sam Stowell converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute. Sophomore Lucas Mauro netted Franklin’s second goal off an assist from Nasir Brahimi. Nick Ferraz made six saves in net for Mansfield.
King Philip, 1 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – King Philip Connor Mullins converted a cross from Thomas Lugten inside the area in the first half to give the Warriors the win.
North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – North Attleboro built a 3-0 lead by halftime and converted a set piece in the second half to earn two points on the road. Sophomore Dylan Corrigan grabbed his first goal of the game in the sixth minute, and made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, burying a rebound chance after a terrific save from Stoughton keeper Carter Gerome. Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Maeve Hogan put OA in front with a header off a Sophia Cox corner. Briley Harnois tied the game late in the first half, but Abby Hodges popped up with the game-winner midway through the second half, off a Jackie Mills cross.
Sharon, 1 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Freshman Elisa Diletzia scored with a header off a Riley Duserick cross in the closing minutes to nab the win for the Bulldogs. Freshman Olivia Rodman scored the first for Canton off a Lilah Sullivan assist.
Foxboro, 1 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Lily Sykes scored the lone goal of the game with a shot from outside the 18. Katie Huether assisted on the goal for the Warriors. Abby Baker scored an unassisted tally and Jenna Hitchen also scored once. Samantha Tichelaar scored the lone goal of the game for the Tigers, while Grace Pimenta made 12 saves for Taunton.
Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – Ashlyn Gaulin had a brace and an assist for the Rocketeers, while Haley Guertin, Aine Mendonca, and Mackenzie Rosenberg each scored one in the win. Franklin, 2 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Halle Atkinson scored the first goal for the Panthers at the half hour mark and an own goal with 20 minutes to play sealed the two points for Franklin in an even game played in blustery conditions. Cat Robbins earned another clean sheet with four saves and Grace Pimenta made 10 saves in the loss for the Tigers.

Freshman Victoria Quinn scored twice and junior Annie Walsh had two assists and one goal. Junior Ashley Reutlinger also scored for the Panthers and played “an outstanding game on the wing” according to head coach Lisa Cropper. Cropper also highlighted the defensive work of sophomore Maeve Ledwith and senior Caroline Jackson.

Franklin, 3 vs. Brockton, 1 – Final – Franklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong performance for the second straight game, helping the Panthers rally from a one-set deficit for a 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-12 win. Wisniewski had 14 kills, five digs and four aces while Maggie Doyle added 10 kills, three blocks and three aces. Junior Lauren McGrath had another strong performance from the setter spot with 37 assists, three kills and two aces.
Stoughton, 3 vs. Norwood, 0 – Final – Stoughton defended its home court with a 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 sweep in non-league game against Norwood.. Senior Val Whalen led Stoughton with 18 kills, six blocks and 20 digs. SHS head coach Erica Batchelder said the Black Knights received a strong defensive showing from seniors Haley Stone and Vicky Ramos.

Jackson Murphy opened the scoring for the visitors, converting a chance from Sean Lanzillo to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Murphy then set up Anastasia for Mansfield’s second goal and John Cooney recorded to assist on the final tally. Nick Ferraz recorded his third shutout in net.
Canton, 0 @ Milford, 2 – Final – Milford junior Anthony Salvador scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the first half, and then drew a penalty late in the second half to help the Hawks record a shutout win over visiting Canton. Wallison De Oliveira converted the penalty kick to seal the win. MHS head coach Brian Edwards praised the defensive efforts of senior Jacob Balzarini.

Senior Michael Nikiciuk opened the scoring while classmate Brandin Osborne made it 2-0 by half. Mason Galbato converted a flick from Nathaniel Cardoza off a long throw in by Chris Lawrence to make it 3-0 and minutes later, senior Matt Alvarado made it 4-0. In the final minute of play, KP junior John Cullen played a through ball to freshman Camron Lawrence who played across to freshman Ajae Olsen for the finish.
North Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 1 – Final – North Attleboro took the lead inside the first 10 minutes and netted the game-winner midway through the second half to pick up a key division win on the road. Madison Brown made 12 saves in the loss and, according to coach Steve Santos, Jordyn Forte and Julia Hayes played well on defense.
Canton, 3 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Milford got a pair of goals from Juliana France and one from Maggie Boyle to earn a draw against the Bulldogs. According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Ashleigh Starks also played well for the Hawks.
Foxboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Stoughton took the lead on the Warriors with a goal by Nicole Weir, assisted by Gabbi Diaz. Foxboro responded with four straight goals to get the win, including a pair of goals from Lily Sykes. Katelyn Mollica scored the eventual game-winner before halftime and Jordyn Collins scored early in the second half, before Sykes wrapped up the win with a shot from distance. According to Stoughton coach Tara Daniels, outside backs Cintia Khouzami and Sarina Hutchinson had “outstanding” games.

Abby Hodges scored off an Sophia Cox corner kick to tie the game and Erin Holmberg bent a corner directly in for what turned out to be the game-winner. Regan Benton made 14 saves for the Tigers and drew praise from KP coach Gary Pichel, who said that Benton was “clearly one of the best goalkeepers in the state.” OA coach Britt Sellmayer said that Maeve Hogan played a strong game in the OA defense.
Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – It took North only 58 seconds to jump into the lead with a goal from Kayla Pasquel, assisted by Ashlyn Gaulin. Aine Mendonca made it two off another Gaulin assist and Leah Jette made it 3-0 off a Pasquel assist. Gaulin added a pair of second half goals, one off a Haley Guertin shot and the second on an assist by Mackenzie Rosenberg. Emma Noreck had the clean sheet for North and head coach Bill Wallace praised Aly Blaisdell, Felicity Monfils, Britta MacDonald, Haley Ferrin and Emma Gaulin for strong play on both ends of the field.

Mansfield, 6 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – Senior Ann Maher scored a hat trick to pace Mansfield to a win on the road. Heather D’Ambra, Brooke Downey and Haley Crawford each tallied once for the Hornets in the win.

King Philip, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – King Philip’s Christina Hathaway scored and had an assist in the first half, helping the Warriors build a 2-0 lead at the break. Hathaway scored on a feed from Nicole Conor and then set up a goal by Liz Furfari. Furfari made it 3-0 of a pass from Alli Meehan and then Meehan netted the final two goals, one set up by Olivia Kulesza. Abby Campbell turned away three shots in net.

Volleyball
Mansfield, 3 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – After splitting the first two sets, Mansfield rattled off two wins to earn the victory on the road (25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16). Julia Harrison had eight kills while Mikayla Kearney had seven digs and eight service points. Emma Ascoli added 14 service points and 24 assists for the Hornets while Jolie O’Neil chipped in with 10 service points.
Milford, 1 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Milford earned a win in the first set but Canton rallied back to win the next three and take the victory (21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 29-27). Nicole Brown ran the Canton’s offense with 37 assists, Taylor Harris had 13 kills and four aces and Rose Hazam and Erin Devine combined for 14 kills. CHS head coach Pat Cawley said Theresa O’Brien provided a spark off the bench with 14 service points.
Stoughton, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – The Black Knights stretched their unbeaten streak to six wins to start the season with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 sweep of Foxboro. SHS junior Hanna Holden had a strong game with 14 assists and 9 digs while senior Haley Stone and junior Mia Bennett were solid in the back row combining for over 30 digs.
Taunton, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin’s Ellie Wisniewski had a strong well-rounded game, leading the Panthers to a sweep at home. Wisniewski had seven kills, five aces and two digs while Meaghan Maguire added eight kills and Lauren McGrath finished with 24 assists, three digs, three aces and two kills.
Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro survived a late push from visiting Sharon to complete a sweep (25-11, 25-12, 26-24) and move to 5-0. Senior Kezia De La Cruz had 13 kills and two assists, senior Amelia Murphy added nine kills and senior Leah Marceau paced the offense with 20 assists and four aces.
King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – King Philip went on the road to pick up a sweep of the Tigers, 25-19, 25-11, 25-12. Sydney Phillips led the offensive charge with 11 kills and three digs while Michaela Palumbo added six kills, three aces and 11 service points. Kat Kmetz chipped in with five aces, two kills, one dig and 16 service points.

Canton, 2 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Mansfield netted a pair of goals in each half in a win over visiting Canton. Senior Sam Hyland finished with a goal and three assists to pace the Hornets. Hyland opened the scoring 10 minutes into the match, taking a through ball from Luke Savoie. Five minutes later, Nick Wisnieski netted his first goal, finishing a throw from Hyland. Early in the second half, Wisnieski made it 3-0 off a cross from Hyland but Canton quickly made it a one-goal game. Junior Griffin Roach scored a pair of goals in a 10-minute span to make it 3-2 but Jared Gabrilowitz nodded home a throw from Hyland in the 79th minute to ice the game.
Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 1 – Final – King Philip found the game winner in the final five minutes for the second straight game. Tony Bozza played a 1-2 combination with senior Thomas Lugten to get in behind the defense and the junior calmly finished in the 78th minute to give the Warriors two points.
Milford, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin netted a pair of second half goals to erase a one goal deficit to earn its first win of the 2017 season. Milford’s Andre Oliveira put the visitors ahead in the first half but Franklin drew level midway through the second half. Sophomore Jacob Cummings made it 1-1 before the Panthers found the winner in the final two minutes. Sophomore Sam Stowell buried a penalty kick for the game-winner. Milford head coach Brian Edwards said Lucas Caetano had a strong game for the Hawks at left back.
North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 2 – Final – Taunton netted the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes to play but North Attleboro found an equalizer with just two minutes to play to earn a draw. The Tigers took the lead in the fourth minute when Francois Hennaux capitalized on a ball over the top and scored on a breakaway. North tied the game in the 60th minute when Gabe Pinhancos volleyed home a cross from Connor MacIver. The Tigers regained the lead when Liam Crowley buried a penalty kick but Pinhancos netted his second, again on a volley, on a cross from junior Joe Hilf.
Sharon, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames scored twice late in the second half to earn two points against Sharon. After hitting the post twice, the Tigers converted when senior Matt Alvarado’s cross found classmate Brandin Osborne, who buried his chance in front. Just before the halftime whistle, Alvarado found Nathaniel Cardoza, who rocketed his shot off the crossbar and in from distance for OA’s second goal.

Mansfield, 5 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Cassidy McMahon scored a brace for the Hornets, including the eventual game-winner in the second half, to help the Hornets hold off Canton in what Mansfield coach Kevin Smith called “a great game.” Bryn Anderson opened the scoring for the Hornets and Emily Vigeant added a second off a free kick. Canton got one back before McMahon scored her first for a 3-1 halftime lead. The Bulldogs again cut the lead to one but McMahon’s second made it 4-2. With five minutes left, Canton made it a one-goal game, but Emma Oldow sealed the points with Mansfield’s fifth.
King Philip, 4 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final KP scored three goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to overcome a one-goal deficit and make it four wins in four games. Ally Stanton scored the opener for KP off an assist by Avery Snead. Foxboro took the lead before halftime as Jordyn Collins scored off a Lily Sykes assist and the returned the favor by assisting on a Sykes goal. Chloe Layne tied it four minutes into the second half off an Emma Corcoran pass and then assisted on a goal by Snead three minutes later to take the lead for good. Five minutes later, Makayla Griffin scored off an Abby Baker assist to wrap up the scoring.
Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 0 – Final – According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Brianna Braza, Rachel LeBlanc and Maddie Boyle played well on defense and Julianna France and Leeanne Kibbee had good games in what he called, “a strong team effort.”
Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro’s offense clicked on Monday, creating 21 shots and 11 corners. Haley Guertin opened the scoring in the first half off an Emily Chiasson assist, then created a second goal for Leah Jette. Jette then set up Ashley Gaulin to make it 3-0 and Britta MacDonald closed out the scoring off an assist by Meghan Slaney. Rachel Labonte played well defensively to secure the clean sheet.
Oliver Ames, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Jackie Mills scored a brace for the Tigers, while Briana Gibson and Abby Hodges each added a goal apiece. Ally Filipkowski scored on a header off a Bridget McManus pass and Sabrina Robbins scored her first varsity goal off an assist by Bella Berger. All six goals were scored in the final 25 minutes of the game.
Field Hockey
Attleboro, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Attleboro’s Grace Mayer and Alex Compton each recorded a hat trick in the Bombardiers win on the road. Abigail Boudreau added the other goal for Attleboro while Katie Pelletier turned away eight shots for the shutout.
King Philip, 2 @ Canton, 0 – Final – King Philip finally broke through in the second half, netting a pair of goals to beat Canton on the road. The Warriors had a large advantage in shots in the game. Alli Meehan opened the scoring with 12 minutes left in the game and then Christina Hathaway added an insurance goal, finishing a corner on an assist from Dana Truini with less than three minutes to play. Canton senior goalie Riley Brown made 25 saves, including denying a penalty stroke.

Mansfield, 1 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Mansfield’s Tori Farrington scored the lone goal of the game, finding the back of the net just before the midway point of the second half to help the Hornets earn a win on the road. Mansfield’s Kayla Hunter made four saves in the second half to preserve the shutout. Stoughton’s Gianna Barbosa made 15 saves in net for the Black Knights.
Taunton, 6 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Taunton senior Kya Enos found the back of the four times and registered one assist to lead the Tigers to a big win on the road. Enos scored Taunton’s first two goals, the latter on an assist from freshman Alana Tavares. Diana Brens made it 3-0 on a feed from Enos and then Enos scored two straight goals, the first from Jillian Pagliuca. Lauren Torres capped the scoring with an assist from Mabel Smith. Junior Emma Sheehan made seven saves in the win. THS head coach Liz Hathaway said Smith, Tavares and Kathryn Robinson had strong games for the Tigers.
Oliver Ames, 2 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – Kayla Lozzi and Liz Nuss each scored for Oliver Ames while Caitlin Grant made nine saves to help the Tigers earn a tie on the road.

Stoughton, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Stoughton senior captain Val Whalen combined with juniors Molly Turner and Hanna Holden for 37 service points. SHS coach Erica Batchelder said solid defense from the entire Black Knight squad led the team to the win.
Canton, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Mansfield recorded a sweep over visiting, earning a key win in the second set to get the win (25-18, 29-27, 25-16). For Mansfield, Julia Harrison had 14 kills and eight digs, Lexi Gardner had 18 service points, Meg Hill added 11 kills and 12 service points and Jolie O’Neil had nine digs. CHS head coach Pat Cawley said sophomore Taylor Harris had a good all around game with great serving including four aces, three blocks, and four kills. Hannah Jerrier added four kills and five blocks for the Bulldogs.
Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip earned a 25-10, 25-17, 25-6 sweep over the visiting Warriors of Foxboro. Rachel Veilleux led the way with 21 assists and 15 service points, Sydney Phillips added 11 kills and three digs, Michael Palumbo finished with five kills and five aces and Elise Pereira chipped in with four digs and three aces.
North Attleboro, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro picked up a win on the road with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-10, 25-13 decision over Taunton. Kezia De La Cruz recorded a team-high 18 kills and added six aces for the Rocketeers while Amelia Murphy added seven kills and four aces.
Sharon, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Sharon pulled out its second straight five set win, this time on the road at Oliver Ames (14-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-6). Oliver Ames’ Sadie Homer had 19 digs and two aces, sophomore Ally Kemp had 33 assists and three aces, senior Katie Flynn had 10 kills, senior Jackie Kandar added eight kills and three assisted blocks and sophomore Jordyn Vella chipped in with seven blocks and four kills.

Canton, 155 @ Milford, 166 – Final – Canton’s Jack Goyetch earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 37 as the Bulldogs opened the season with a win. Joey Vaughan shot a 38 for Canton. Milford’s Riley Lynch had a team-low round of 39.
