Boys Soccer
King Philip, 1 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game – King Philip junior Will Bowen scored the winner in the final minutes of the match to give the Warriors two points on the road over Foxboro. Moments after having his one-on-one bid with the keeper denied, Bowen ran onto a service over the top from senior Matt Crago and smashed a shot from in close that Foxboro keeper Ryan Cotter (12 saves) got a piece of but found its way under the bar and in. King Philip’s back line of Thomas Meader, Patrick Sullivan, Ethan Jack Hancock, and Tommy Lomuscio denied the hosts of creating many scoring chances, while Foxboro’s back four of Jack Sullivan, Marco Pacini, Andrew Linnehan, and Alex Penders, as well as defensive center mid John Hollis, all played well. Cotter was strong in net, including a key double save in the 21st minute — diving to his right to save a blast from Meader off a corner, and leaping the opposite way seconds later to deny Crago.

Attleboro, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames scored a pair of second half goals to secure a key two points against Attleboro in a battle of the top two ranked teams in the Hockomock League. After a scoreless opening 40 minutes, a pair of sophomores linked up to open the scoring for the hosts. Casey Milliken notched his team-leading seventh assist with a through ball to classmate Andrew Martins to give OA a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the second half. Senior Diego Rivera set up OA’s next goal with a long ball that was deflected in behind the defense with junior Ryan Linhares running onto it. Linhares smashed a terrific one-time shot from just inside the area to double the hosts’ lead. Sophomore Drew Hall recorded his second career shutout while OA head coach John Barata praised senior Hector Bucio and Jake Williams for anchoring the back line. Barata also noted the strong play of sophomores Jackson Mercieri, Luke Churchill, Craig Churchill, and senior Jason Zalis.

Franklin, 3 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – After staking a one-goal lead at halftime, Franklin put away two more in the second to earn an impressive 3-0 decision on the road at Sharon. Sophomore Garrett Scagliarini put the visitors ahead with a goal in the opening half, finishing off an assist from Hansy Jacques. Jacques then got one of his own in the second half to double the Panthers’ advantage, linking up with Andrew O’Neill to make it 2-0. Will Kryzak then recorded an assist for the third straight game, setting up Wyatt Herndon for his first career goal.

Taunton, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – After earning points in back-to-back games with a pair of draws, Taunton broke into the win column with a 3-2 decision on the road at Mansfield. Junior Javonte Fernandes had a hand in all three goals for the Tigers, assisting on the opening goal and the game-winner, sandwiched around a goal of his own. Senior Az-Anael St. Marc opened Taunton’s scoring off an assist from Fernandes, who then scored himself off an assist from Conal Scully for the Tigers’ second goal. Fernandes returned the favor, hooking up with Scully for the game-winner. Riley Rebello, Ian Robicheau, Quincy Jones-Sylvia, Xavier Mercardo, and Aidden Fitting all had solid play the entire game for the Tigers while goalie Sebastian Darosa had some key saves throughout the match.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro scored a pair of second half goals and held off a late push from the hosts to grab two points with a 2-1 win against the Black Knights. Carson Dameron orchestrated the attack with two assists on the day, first setting up Kaden Burns for the opener. Burns took a pass from Dameron and found the far corner to put the Rocketeers ahead 1-0 in the 46th minute. Just over 15 minutes later, a long free kick from Brody Carter was headed by Dameron onto Zach Smahi and he finished for a 2-0 lead. Stoughton scored with just under 10 minutes to go on a free kick goal from Matheus Groberio.

Milford, 3 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Canton came back from a two-goal deficit two pull level with a half hour left in the game, but Milford regained the lead and held on for an important two points on the road at Canton. Andre Baiano smashed a thunderous volley off a pass from Eduardo Santana to give the Hawks the lead, and Nick Ribeiro doubled the advantage with his second free kick goal in as many games. The free kick was earned after some great work from freshman Danny Da Silva. Canton came back and leveled the match with two goals in a seven-minute span. First, freshman Vlad Francoeur squeezed one in past the keeper to cut the deficit in half and Carson Eagles buried a rebound chance from in close to make it 2-2. Milford found the winner with 10 minutes to go as Ribeiro played Santana through and he finished past the keeper to make it 3-2.

Girls Soccer
Oliver Ames, 2 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – For the second straight game, Oliver Ames scored once in each half and earned a shutout win. Jolie Diaz opened the scoring for the visitors, intercepting a ball at midfield and going on to convert a breakaway chance, beating the keeper on the near side for a 1-0 lead. OA doubled its lead late in the second half as Emma Gavin volleyed a second chance off a restart with 12 minutes left with the assist going to Sophia Byron. Mary Cross had a great game in the midfield for the Tigers while Janiya Matier made four saves for the shutout.

Canton, 6 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Canton scored three times in the opening 25 minutes of the game to take control and keep its unbeaten start to the season alive. Lauren Shatkin, Emma Cahill, and Emily McCabe each scored in the first half. For McCabe, it was her league-leading 10th goal of the season. Caira McKinney, Gisella Berardi, and Mekhala Costello added second half goals for the Bulldogs, who tried not to let the tempo slip despite being in a busy stretch of the season. Georgia Campbell, Cahill, McCabe, Costello, and Shatkin each had an assist. Dani Atherton scored Milford’s lone goal.

Foxboro, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – The game was scoreless at the half, but Ella Pisani scored four times after the break to lead King Philip to a big win. Pisani opened the scoring off a corner just a minute into the second half, assisted by an Addisyn Lamothe-Vaughn corner. Four minutes later, Pisani again finished off a corner, this time with Danielle Gresham picking up the assist. She completed her hat trick by finishing off a pass from Ailish McGowen. With 13 minutes to play, Pisani got behind the defense and capped off her night by lifting a shot over the keeper. Makayla Thompson had the assist on the final goal. Erin Foley had the Foxboro goal that cut the lead to 3-1.

Sharon, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Olivia Costa scored a pair of goals to lift Franklin to a home win that moves the Panthers a half-game ahead in the division. Kelly O’Connor and Tori Carmignani each scored once and each assisted on another goal. Norah Anderson’s header capped the scoring for the Panthers, who also got a pair of assists from Anya Zub and an assist from Katie Ewald. Sharon faced the Kelley-Rex leaders without a pair of starters and struggled to get the attack going against Franklin’s defense. Jordanna Morris and Sally Brouhard both had strong games in defense for the Eagles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Mansfield scored four times in the opening half to take home an away win against the Tigers. Freshmen Alexandra and Maddie Fernandes each scored their first varsity goals. Bridget Hanley and Meghan McCann also found the back of the net for Mansfield. Alexis O’Keefe had a pair of assists, while freshmen Lauren Signoriello and Olivia Dunham each had one helper. Olivia Salisbury picked up the clean sheet. Eighth-grader Ashlyn Herbert had another good performance in net for the Tigers, making nine saves. Mia Torres, Jenna Pereira, and Christina Da Costa also played well in the loss.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – Sydney O’Connor headed in a Kaitlyn Joyce cross with five minutes to go before halftime and that was enough for North to pull out its first league win of the season.




Volleyball
Sharon, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin continued to roll against league opponents, this time with an impressive 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-14, 25-11) of visiting Sharon. Juniors Grace Lacerda and Taylor Lacerda (five aces) paced the offense with 12 kills apiece.

Golf
Attleboro, 156 @ North Attleboro, 143 – Final – North Attleboro’s Jake Gaskin had a great day on the links, carding a two-under-par round of 33 that included an eagle, to lead the Rocketeers to a win over rival Attleboro on the middle course at Heather Hill. Gaskin finished with a 33, sinking an eagle putt on the third hole. Tyson Laviano came in one-over at 36 while Dillon Harding, Ishan Kohli, and Zach Corsetti all shot a 37 on the day. Leo Lombardo fired an even par round of 35 to lead the Bombardiers, Ryan hill added a 38, Bradley Lehtonen finished at 41, and Bradley Martin rounded out Attleboro’s scoring with a 42.

Milford, 165 @ Foxboro, 175 – Final – Milford junior Anthony LaPierre continued his strong week, shooting a match medalist round to lead the Scarlet Hawks to victory over the Warriors at Foxboro Country Club. LaPierre was the lone golfer to break 40 on the day, recording a medalist round of 37. Nate Lawrence added a 40 in the win while both Zach Hipolito and Jacob Hipolito shot 44 for the day. Louis Carangelo, who had a birdie, led Foxboro with a 42, Patrick Callahan (three pars) added a 43, and both Zac Georgantas and Reese Curreri came into the clubhouse with a 45.

Franklin, 149 @ Sharon, 172 – Final

Stoughton, 186 @ Canton, 156 – Final – Canton sophomore Huck McCready fired a medalist round of 35 to help the Bulldogs bring down Stoughton at Blue Hill Country Club, snapping a four-match skid. Brendan Tourgee added a 38 in the win, Joey Ryan shot a 41, and both Charlie Vaughan and Teddy Shuman finished at 42 for the day. For Stoughton, Mason Page had a team-low round of 42.

Field Hockey
Oliver Ames, 6 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames found the back of the net three times in each half to secure a big win on the road at Attleboro. Junior Erin Cottam led the charge for the Tigers, scoring four goals and assisting on OA’s other two, which were both scored by Kayla Kenney. Julia Maclaine registered two assists and Megan Crabtree had one in the win. For Attleboro, Nora Desrosiers and Siobhan Landers each scored once with Marley Young assisting on both.

Foxboro, 2 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – King Philip twice erased a one-goal deficit in the third quarter to earn a 2-2 draw against visiting Foxboro. After a scoreless first quarter, the visitors took the lead when Cam Collins took a pass from Val Beigel and found the back of the net with less than a minute to go in the first half. King Philip came back to tie it on a goal from Leah Santoro to make it 1-1, but Foxboro got its second of the game off the stick of Jenny Gallagher with 2:17 left in the third. Before the buzzer, the hosts pulled level yet again as Mara Boldy found the back of the net to make it 2-2. Charlotte Raymond, who also had an assist, and Abby MacDonald had strong performances while Haley Bright made seven saves in net for KP.

Sharon, 0 @ Franklin, 12 – Final – Franklin senior Shaw Downing scored four goals in the first quarter and finished with five overall and one assist as the Panthers rolled to a big win at home. Sydney Rogan added two goals, Ella Aldred, Kaitlyn Carney (four assists), and Sophia Cuneo each scored once, and both Chloe Essam and Maeve Rolston netted their first career goals.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Taunton and Mansfield battled back-and-forth for 60 minutes but ended in a stalemate as both teams earned one point from the draw. For Taunton, Jasmine Lucier made four saves in net to record the shutout while the defense of Thal Nogueira, Bridget MacDougall and Sydney Moreton, along with Kaysie DeMoura in midfield, played well for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 9 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Katherine Giroux, Carly Sanda, and Sophia Tombros all played well for the Black Knights.

Canton, 6 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Canton went on the road and earned their fifth straight win to open the season, this time a 6-1 decision over the Scarlet Hawks. Izzy Digirolamo had a huge day offensively for the Bulldogs with four goals. Milford senior goalie Stella Portes made 24 saves in net.

Volleyball
Canton, 3 @ Milford, 1 – Final – The Bulldogs bounced back from a one-set deficit to win three in a row and grab a 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22) win on the road at Milford. Jess Wright was everywhere for the Dogs, finishing with 21 kills, 10 digs, and an ace. Fatima Sidibay was a force at the net with seven kills and four blocks while Zoe Scibelli was a calming force on defense with 12 digs and three aces.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final – After dropping the first set by double digits, Attleboro stormed back to win three straight and secure a 3-1 win (12-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17) over visiting Oliver Ames. The Bombardiers picked up key contributions from Sadie Whitmarsh, who notched 15 digs, and Addie Shelton, who added seven kills in the win. Natalie Brojek dished out 25 assists and Julia Leonardo did it all for the Bombardiers with 20 digs and 18 kills. For Oliver Ames, senior Mary Derba had eight kills, sophomore Clare Kavoulis added 33 assists and three aces, Maddie Homer had 23 digs and 28 serve receptions, Sarah Hilliard added 14 kills, and Addyson Smock finished with seven kills and three assists.

Boys Cross Country
Mansfield, 19 @ Canton, 41 – Final – Mansfield swept the top three spots to earn a win on the road over Canton at Pequitiside Farm. Junior Talon Johnson was first overall followed by senior John Sylvian and junior Sam Taylor. Canton junior Sam Vail clocked in a personal best 19:26 as the Bulldogs’ top finisher, while sophomore Max Mateo also had a strong showing for the hosts.

Foxboro, 39 @ Oliver Ames, 19 – Final

Sharon, 15 @ Stoughton, 50 – Final

Attleboro, 24 @ Milford, 36 – Final

Franklin, 39 @ Taunton, 17 – Final – Taunton swept the top three spots to clinch a win at home over visiting Franklin. Sam Denis crossed the finish line first while Brayden Cali and Andrew Cali took second and third place, respectively, for the Tigers.

Girls Cross Country
Mansfield, 15 @ Canton, 48 – Final – Mansfield had the top five runners to earn a sweep on the road at Pequitiside Farm against Canton. Junior Anna Moore won the race, followed by senior Alexis DiVasta, sophomore Sierra Wojick, senior Devin Anderson, and freshman Alex Petrova to round out the top five. Johanna Bouwmeester was Canton’s top runner while freshman Honesty Johnson had a big personal best and finished fourth for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 43 @ Oliver Ames, 17 – Final

Sharon, 27 @ Stoughton, 32 – Final – Stoughton took second, third, and fourth but a first place from Sharon’s Sara Lessard and six straight finishers from fifth on helped the Eagles clinch the win. Stoughton’s Lilly Branco was second overall followed by teammates Elaine McCarty and Julie Richardson.

Attleboro, 39 @ Milford, 19 – Final

Franklin, 19 @ Taunton, 42 – Final – Taking four of the top five spots, Franklin ran away with a big win on the road at Taunton. Junior Alex Batla won the race in 21:21 with sophomore Fiona Morrison just three seconds back at 21:24 to take second. After Taunton’s Colby Dunham (21:27) took third, Franklin senior Ashley Tighe was fourth (21:34) and sophomore Abby Baker (22:29) was fifth. Senior Artemisia Saparoff rounded out Franklin’s scoring by taking seventh (22:57). Taunton’s Emersyn DePonte was sixth overall at 22:54.




Golf
Stoughton, 168 @ Milford, 154 – Final – Milford junior Anthony LaPierre had one of his best rounds of the season, firing a one-under par round to lead the Scarlet Hawks past Stoughton. LaPierre carded a one-under round of 34 to earn medalist honors at Hopedale Country Club. Jacob Hipolito added a 39 and Nate Lawrence chipped in with a 40 for the hosts. For Stoughton, David Monaghan shot a 39 and Mason Page finished with a 42.

Sharon, 192 @ Foxboro, 166 – Final – Foxboro’s Patrick Callahan carded six pars and one birdie on his way to a medalist round in the Warriors’ win over Sharon. Callahan finished with a 37 on the front nine at Foxboro Country Club to lead the way for the hosts. Reese Curreri (three pars, one birdie) added a 41, Zac Georgantas (five pars) finished with a 42, and Louis Carangelo (two pars) came in with a 46. James Spoto shot a team-low round of 43 for the Eagles.

Canton, 172 @ Mansfield, 168 – Final – Sophomore Will Riley proved to be a vital addition to the Hornets’ lineup on Tuesday, shooting a medalist round to lead Mansfield past division rival Canton. Riley, who was added to the starting lineup late in the day, was a co-medalist along with Canton’s Huck McCready as both sophomores fired a 40 on the day at Norton Country Club. Junior Jason Friedman added a 42 for the Hornets while junior Cody Nieratko and sophomore Brendan Vokey each shot a 43. For Canton, Joey Ryan chipped in with a 41, Brian Middleton added a 44, and Teddy Shuman carded a 47.

Oliver Ames, 163 @ Taunton, 183 – Final – Oliver Ames returned home from Segregansett Country Club with a non-league win over Taunton in a crossover clash. Senior Michael McGinnis and junior Sean Kearns shared medalist honors in the win after both finished the day with a 40. Senior Daniel Paul and junior David Rodgers rounded out the scoring for OA with at 42. Sean Murphy had a team-low round of 44 for the Tigers while Noah Faidell added a 45.

Franklin, 159 vs. St. John’s Shrewsbury, 152 – Final – Franklin came up just short in a non-league challenge against visiting St. John’s. CJ Steel and Caden Sullivan each shot a 39 for the Panthers.

Monday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 09/19/22

Boys Soccer
King Philip, 1 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final – Attleboro junior Alex Vecchioli converted a penalty kick in the second half to put the Bombardiers ahead and junior Tyler Rocchio saved a KP pen with 10 minutes to go to preserve the win for the hosts. King Philip took the lead in the first half as Matt Crago finished off a pass from Oliver Blackburn but Richard Ferreira set up Vecchioli for a goal right before half to make it 1-1. Vecchioli was fouled inside the area early in the second half and converted the pen himself to give the hosts their first lead of the game at 2-1. KP had a chance to pull level late in the game but Rocchio denied the shot from the spot. Attleboro’s Lucas Marques had a standout performance at defensive mid.

Canton, 2 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Canton freshman Vlad Francoeur scored his first two career goals to lead the Bulldogs to a rivalry win over neighboring Stoughton.

Sharon, 1 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Sharon found the winner just past the midway point of the second half to take two points home. In the 64th minute, freshman Diego Martinez played a ball behind the defense that senior Miguel Vasconcelos ran onto his and fired a cross into the area. The ball deflected off a Foxboro defender and down to sophomore James Jennings, who took a touch before turning and blasting a shot in at the near post for the winner. Matt Baur played well in net for his second shutout of the season. Foxboro’s best chance came in the final moments of the first half as a long throw from Pradyu Gubbala was bounced around in the area before sophomore Jackson Maling latched on but his bid hit off the inside of the post and bounced back to Baur for the save.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Milford, 1 – Final – North Attleboro scored twice in the final 15 minutes, including the game-winner with just under five minutes to play to stun the Scarlet Hawks at home. The hosts took the lead in the 33rd minute off a set piece as Arthur Tome touched a free kick from just outside the box in play and Nick Ribeiro smashed a shot off the far post upper 90 and in. Milford carried that lead until the 66th minute when North pulled level with a quick attack. Zach Smahi played Quinn Conley in behind the defense and he slide a low shot past the keeper that eluded the Hawks’ defense and was smashed home a step out by Kaden Burns to make it 1-1. In the 75th minute, a long throw from Jeremy Carter was flicked on by Bryce Newth and deflected off a Milford defender right to Carson Dameron, who calmly cut the ball onto his left foot and slide a shot to the far post for the winner.

Taunton, 2 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin twice took the lead but Taunton answered each time and the two squads split the points in a 2-2 draw. Franklin junior Bradley Herndon opened the scoring for the hosts off a feed from Matt Honekamp but Taunton came back with the equalizer by the midway point of the first half on a goal from Javonte Fernandes on an assist from Az-Anael St. Marc. The Panthers pulled ahead early in the second half as Will Kryzak set up sophomore Garrett Scagliarini for his first career goal. But once again, the visitors answered as Aidden Fitting hooked up with Ian Robicheau for the equalizer.

Stoughton, 1 @ Canton, 2 – Final

Foxboro, 1 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – Sofia Goclowski had a goal and an assist to help the Eagles win their third straight game and move into second place alone in the Davenport division. Following a scoreless first half, Olivia Landstein finished off an assist from Goclowski to break the deadlock. Jessica Li latched onto Olivia Soby’s pass to double the lead. Erin Foley got Foxboro back into the game, but Sharon was able to seal the points with two minutes to play when Goclowski capitalized off an Olivia Soby corner.

Franklin, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Anya Zub’s brace helped Franklin bounce back from its first loss of the season with a convincing win at Taunton. Zub opened the scoring late in the first half and then the Panthers scored three times in just eight minutes of the second half to put the game away. Kelly O’Connor doubled the lead in the 58th minute. Six minutes later, Zub got her second to make it 3-0 and less than two minutes after that Hailey Baima found the back of the net off a Katie Ewald assist. Alli Powderly added an assist as well. Franklin had a sizable advantage in shots but Taunton keeper Hailey Porter had a big night, making 22 saves. Taunton coach Dan Borges also praised sophomore Ava Uhl and eighth grader Maddison Crowley for their defensive effort.

Mansfield, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Behind a goal in each half, Oliver Ames secured two key points at home against Davenport rival Mansfield. Jolie Diaz gave the Tigers the lead in the first half, heading in a cross from Emma Gavin. Midway through the second half, Lucinda Li Cotter finished off a pass from Rhiya Fisher to double the advantage. Janiya Matier had a strong game in net for OA, making some key saves in the second half to earn the shutout.

Milford, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – In a back-and-forth battle, Milford prevailed with the win after a late winner from junior Erin Michelson. The Scarlet Hawks took the lead early in the first half on an unassisted strike from Dani Atherton only for North to equalize less than 10 minutes later as Jess Hennessey set up Emma Pratt in the 18th minute. The same happened again in the second half with the visitors going up 2-1 in the 50th minute when Atheron netted her second of the game but once again, North leveled the match in the 65th minute with Hennessey once again setting up Pratt. Atherton grabbed her third point of the game, this time assisting Michelson for the winner in the 78th minute.




Volleyball
Foxboro, 3 @ Walpole, 1 – Final – Foxboro found its way into the win column for the first time this season, taking down Walpole in a non-league clash, 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 16-25, 25-18). Alyssa Cloherty set the offense in motion with 24 assists while adding seven digs, four aces, and three kills to lead the charge for the Warriors. Juliana Pettigrew added seven digs and six kills while Sami Sloan recorded eight kills and four aces in the win.

Oliver Ames, 2 vs. Dartmouth, 3 – Final – In a great match, Oliver Ames came up just short against visiting Dartmouth, falling 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 15-13). Senior Maddie Homer continued to shine defensively for the Tigers with 41 digs, sophomore Clare Kavoulis notched 36 assists, and juniors Sarah Hilliard (21) and Claire O’Rourke (17) combined for 38 kills.

Taunton, 1 @ Durfee, 3 – Final – Taunton rallied to stay alive with a win in the third set, but Durfee closed it out with a competitive fourth set win, 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-23). Hayley Krockta had a strong performance for the Tigers with seven kills and four aces while Courtney Martin (four aces) played well in the back row.

Canton, 3 @ Notre Dame Academy, 2 – Final

Golf

Liam Lewandowski had a birdie on the second hole and finished with a medalist round of 37 to lead the way for the Panthers. Jack Hagerty and Jack Nelson each added a 39 in the win and CJ Steel finished with a 40 for Franklin. Mansfield’s Drew Urban was a co-medalist with a 37, Brendan Vokey chipped in with a 40, and both Cody Nieratko and Nate McClean finished at 41 for the day.

North Attleboro, 157 @ King Philip, 149 – Final – King Philip was on fire on Monday with six golfers shooting 40 or better in a key division win over North Attleboro. Evan Regan shot a team-low round of 36 to share medalist honors while North’s Tyson Laviano also came in with a 36 on the back nine at Wentworth Hills.

Taunton, 100 @ New Bedford, 42 – Final (Stableford) – Taunton’s Sean Murphy and Jesse Chaves each shot a 44 to earn 19 points apiece to help the Tigers earn a win over New Bedford (stableford rules). Logan Letourneau added a 45 for 18 points, Alex Dias added a 47 for 16 points, and Noah Faidell shot a 48 for 15 points.

Attleboro, 2 @ Bridgewater-Raynham, 1 – Freshman Tatum O’Brien scored in the final five minutes of the game to lift the Bombardiers to a non-league road win over a fellow D1 state tournament contender. The game was scoreless at the break and Attleboro goalie Alexis Campbell saved a penalty to keep it that way. Midway through the second half Emily Dunlea opened the scoring for Attleboro. B-R responded with an equalizer, but O’Brien struck late for a big bounce back victory. Attleboro coach Steve Santos praised his back line and midfield for putting in a strong defensive performance.

Canton, 1 @ Norwell, 1 – Final – In a high-tempo game from start to finish, Emily McCabe scored a late goal, her eighth of the season, to secure the Bulldogs a point against the defending Div. 3 state champs. Canton had chances to take the lead, but the game remained scoreless until the final 15 minutes. Against the run of play, Norwell pounced on a goal kick to grab the lead. Canton didn’t drop its intensity and kept fighting for an equalizer. Kristina Keefe played a cross into the box and McCabe was able to get a piece to even the score. Canton coach Idris Senyonjo said, “It was a great game of soccer to watch.”

Sharon, 3 @ Milton, 0 – Final – Sharon continued its strong start to the season with a non-league win at Milton. Jessica Li, Autumn Simon, and Amber Marcus-Blank each found the back of the net for the Eagles to secure a second straight victory. Olivia Soby, Sofia Goclowski, and Taylor Standring each recorded assists.

Stoughton, 5 @ Norwood, 0 – Final – Matheus Groberio scored a pair of goals to help Stoughton bounce back in a big way with a rout of Norwood. Sam Santos, Tyler Teixeira, and Joao Moratti each scored once on top of Groberio’s brace while Ben Shirey posted the shutout in net.

Girls Soccer
Stoughton, 4 vs. Norwood, 1 – Final – Stoughton scored four times in the second half, winning for the second time in as many days. Norwood got the lone goal of the first half and went into the break with the lead, but the Black Knights responded six minutes into the second half and never looked back. Morgan Cook equalized with a shot off the post, assisted by Shayla Ford. Five minutes later, Emma Tran scored what turned out to be the game-winner from the spot. Ford doubled the lead in the 57th minute, breaking past the Norwood defense and finishing. Tran added her second of the day just two minutes later with a 30-yard free kick. Molly Fox made seven saves to pick up the win in goal.

King Philip, 2 @ Franklin, 1 – Final – KP bounced back from a loss to OA by handing Franklin its first loss of the season. Heidi Lawrence scored a brace for the Warriors, who moved back into a first-place tie with the Panthers in the division. Lawrence scored 13 minutes before halftime after a nice run that was picked out by Ella Pisani’s diagonal ball. Norah Anderson got Franklin’s goal off a Katie Ewald corner, but then Lawrence popped up with the winner five minutes from full time. Pisani again provided the killer pass.




Field Hockey
Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. KP scored a pair of second half goals, both assisted by Kelly Holmes, to pull out a second straight win. The game was scoreless at halftime, but with seven minutes left in the third Holmes found a little bit of space on the left and fired a ball into the middle that was deftly tipped by Nicole MacDonald for the opening goal. The lead stayed at one until the final two minutes when Holmes hit a low cross from the right wing that was deflected in front by Ella McDonnell for a goal that sealed the points. Marley Young had Attleboro’s best chance when her second quarter shot was cleared off the line by Maggie Murphy. Siany Gomez had a huge game in goal for the Bombardiers to keep them in the game until the final minutes.

Stoughton, 0 @ Canton, 10 – Final

Franklin, 9 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Franklin scored five goals in the opening quarter and never went back in a big win on the road over Taunton. Sophia Cuneo opened the scoring less than a minute in, Sydney Rogan and Payten Crandall each scored once, and Haley Wernig scored two goals inside the final minute to give the Panthers a big lead early. Kaitlyn Carney, who scored two goals in the second half, assisted on Franklin’s first four goals. Lindsay Dennett and Brooke Taylor (first career goal) added a goal each for Franklin.

Mansfield @ Oliver Ames, 3:45

North Attleboro, 8 @ Milford, 0 – Final – North Attleboro scored three goals in each the first and third quarters on its way to a big win over Milford. Caitlin Vacher (from Caroline Folan), Madison Folan (from Ava Spencer), and Julia Puccio (from Sadie Barend) scored one apiece in the first to give North a 3-0 lead. In the third, Rory McGinley, Caroline Folan, and Puccio each had an unassisted goal. Kelsey Thompson and Ava Mckeon both played solid in the midfield to help stop Milford offense and transition the ball up the field for the North Attleboro offense.

Foxboro, 2 @ Sharon, 3 – After a great back-and-forth battle, Sharon prevailed in five sets to take down visiting Foxboro (25-20, 17-25, 25-27, 25-23, 15-11). For the Warriors, Sami Sloan recorded eight kills, seven digs, and six aces, Alyssa Cloherty added 30 assists, seven digs, three blocks, and a pair of kills and aces, and Shannon McElhinney chipped in with 16 digs and two aces.

Mansfield, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – In a hard-fought, competitive match, Oliver Ames prevailed with a 3-0 25-15, 25-19, 25-20) sweep of visiting Mansfield. Senior Courtney Raymond had a strong game with 10 service points and four kills, senior Maddie Homer added 22 digs, sophomore Clare Kavoulis dished out 20 assists, junior Sarah Hilliard had 14 kills, and senior Mary Derba chipped in with five kills.

Attleboro, 0 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – After prevailing in a tightly contested first set, King Philip went on to complete the sweep to knock Attleboro from the ranks of the unbeatens (26-24, 25-17, 25-18). Emily Sawyer continued to dominate in the middle with 13 kills along with four blocks and three aces while the Warriors also got big offensive contributions from Ahunna James (six kills, 11 digs) and Sami Shore (eight kills, two ces). Shea Mellman anchored the KP defense with eight digs. For Attleboro, Julia Leonardo recorded 14 digs and six kills while Natalie Brojek added 12 assists, seven digs, and four aces in a strong all-around effort.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Franklin continued its undefeated start to the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) on the road at Taunton. Makayla Kuykendall had a big game for the Panthers with 11 kills, eight digs, and four aces while Taylor Lacerda continued her streak of strong performances with 17 kills and 11 digs.

Mansfield, 162 @ North Attleboro, 155 – Final – Jake Gaskin and Tyson Laviano shared match medalist honors to give North Attleboro a key non-league win over rival Mansfield. Gaskin and Laviano both fired a two-over par round of 37 on Heather Hill’s South Course to lead the Rocketeers. Zach Corsetti shot a 40 and Ishan Kohli rounded out North’s scoring with a 41. Brendan Vokey led the Hornets with a 38, Nate McClean and Hayden O’Connor each shot a 41, and Drew Urban carded a 42.

Foxboro, 162 @ Oliver Ames, 152 – Final – Oliver Ames picked up its fifth straight win to start the season, taking down Davenport division foe Foxboro at Pine Oaks. Junior David Rodgers was a co-medalist in the match, sinking a birdie on the fourth hole to finish with a 36 for OA. Michael McGinnis added a 37, Sean Kearns finished with a 39, and Lucas Riley came into the clubhouse with a 40. Foxboro freshman Zac Georgantas also shared match medalist honors with a 36.

Stoughton, 0 @ Attleboro, 4 – Final – For the second straight game, Attleboro exploded offensively in the second half to run away with a big win. Alex Vecchioli took down a deflection off a throw from Luke Hagopian and somehow kept possession between a pair of defenders and ripped a shot to the far post to give the Bombardiers a lead right before halftime. In the second half. Vecchioli grabbed his second of the game early in the second half, tracking down a pass from Lucas Marques before cutting it back onto his left for a shot from just outside the box that was tipped by the keeper and in. Late in the second half, Vecchioli linked up with Kyle Neuendorf, who played a perfectly weighted through ball in behind the defense that was smashed home by Billy Badger to make it 3-0. In the final minutes, senior Steve Etienne tracked down a long punt from keeper Tyler Rocchio and hit a low shot into the back of the net from inside the area.

Foxboro, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin junior Hansy Jacques scored for the third straight game and the Panthers picked up two points in a 3-0 blanking of visiting Foxboro. Junior Michael Fernandez-Martin opened his varsity account, finishing off a pass from sophomore Matt Honekamp to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Jacques doubled the lead before halftime after an assist from Will Kryzak. In the second half, Trey Lovell buried a penalty kick to cap off the scoring for the Panthers.

Mansfield, 2 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Mansfield tallied twice inside a 15-minute span in the second half to pick up two key points on the road at North Attleboro. Aidan Lopes set up Tyler Znoj for a blast from 25 yards out to put the Hornets ahead, 1-0, in the 53rd minute. Mansfield doubled the lead in the 65th minute as Aiden Steele’s header off a corner from Dan Checkoway ended up at the feet of Sean Higgins, who dropped in a shot from just outside the box. Liam Doyle recorded his second straight shutout for Mansfield, making six saves. Derek McGrath anchored another strong Mansfield defensive effort with a great individual performance.

Sharon, 1 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Each team converted off a set piece in a 1-1 draw at Milford. Visiting Sharon took the lead in the 18th minute as Adam Eastman buried a free kick from 25 yards out to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Milford pulled level in the 61st minute as Eduardo Santana buried a penalty kick, a call he earned himself, to bring the Scarlet Hawks level. Sharon goalie Matt Baur had a terrific performance in net.

Canton, 2 @ Taunton, 2 – Final – A late goal from Canton helped the Bulldogs pull even and earn a point in a 2-2 draw on the road at Taunton. Carson Eagles scored a late goal to help the Bulldogs erase a one-goal deficit and pull level at 2-2. Jake McCabe scored Canton’s first goal while Taunton’s Javonte Fernandes (first half) and Devin Poe (second half) scored for the Tigers.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Morgan Cook’s goal just before halftime proved to be the winner, as Stoughton picked up its first victory of the season and its first under new coach Jon Grant. Shayla Ford opened the scoring in the third minute, running onto a Sabrina Rodrigues through ball behind the Attleboro defense. Jamie Davies leveled the match for the Bombardiers from the penalty spot in the 17th minute. Stoughton regained the lead in the 40th. Emma Byrne played a ball forward to Cook, who was able to get a telling touch on it and find the back of the net. Stoughton was able to limit Attleboro’s chances for a tying goal in the second half with a strong defensive effort. Katrina Varnum finished with 10 saves to help the Black Knights come out on top.

Taunton, 0 @ Canton, 2 – Final – Canton scored late in each half to earn its third win in as many games and move alone into first in the Davenport division. Emily McCabe scored both goals for the Bulldogs, her sixth and seventh of the season, the first assisted by Caira McKinney and the second by Gisella Berardi. While Canton held a sizable (17-4) edge in shots on goal and hit three posts, Taunton continued to fight and remained in the game until the final 90 seconds. Taunton coach Dan Borges praised the play of midfielders Juliana Matos and Emily Calderon for helping the Tigers compete to the end.

Franklin, 2 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Franklin scored a pair of second half goals to maintain its perfect start to the season and hand Foxboro its first loss. Olivia Costa opened the scoring off a Norah Anderson assist and Costa then provided the assist for Selene Hammad’s goal that wrapped up the points for the Panthers. Franklin keeper Rachel Welch finished with six saves, while Foxboro’s Allie Sougaris made nine stops.

King Philip, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames sophomore Taylor deVos scored a pair of goals to lead the Tigers to a win over visiting King Philip. deVos converted a free kick opportunity in the first half to give the Tigers the lead. King Philip’s goal was scored by Heidi Lawrence, finishing a Rihanna Mason corner five minutes into the second half to bring the game level. Shortly after that, deVos buried another shot, which proved to be the game-winner. Catie Wilson, Rhiya Fisher, and Lucinda Li Cotter all had strong games for OA. Janiya Matier made six saves in net for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Mansfield and North each scored in the opening 20 minutes of the game and split a point apiece. Meghan McCann scored her first varsity goal four minutes into the game, off an assist from freshman Alexandra Fernandes. Emma Pratt equalized for North 15 minutes later, finishing off a corner to make it 1-1.

Milford, 0 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Sofia Goclowski and Autumn Simon each scored a brace to lift Sharon to its second win of the season, already matching its league win total from 2021. Taylor Standring and Jessica Li each recorded assists for the Eagles and Kate Goloboy earned the clean sheet in goal.




Golf
Milford, 151 @ Attleboro, 157 – Final – After back-to-back close losses, Milford got back into the win column with its second win over the Bombardiers this season. Junior Anthony LaPierre was the match medalist, firing a low-round of 35 at Stone-E-Lea. Nate Lawrence added a 36 and David Fleming came in with a 39 for the Scarlet Hawks. Carter Shelton paced the Bombardiers with a 38 while Leo Lombardo chipped in with a 39.

North Attleboro, 155 @ Stoughton, 190 – Final – Tyson Laviano and Dillon Harding shared medalist honors to pace North Attleboro to a win over Stoughton at Easton Country Club. Laviano and Harding each fired a 38 in the win. Paul Medeiros had a team-low round of 45 for the Black Knights.

Foxboro, 172 @ Franklin, 149 – Final – Franklin junior CJ Steel fired a 35 to lead the Panthers to a win in their home opener at Franklin Country Club over visiting Foxboro. Steel, who had one birdie on the day, earned match medalist honors while Jack Hagerty added a 37, Tyler O’Brien shot a 38, and Brendan Collins finished with a 39. Mat Sullivan had a team-low round of 40 for the Warriors.

Mansfield, 162 @ Canton, 165 – Final – Mansfield had a trio of golfers all come in with a 40 to help the Hornets land a rare win for the visiting team at Blue Hill Country Club. Brendan Vokey, Jason Friedman, and Nate McClean each shot 40 in the win while Drew Urban chipped in with a 42. For Canton, Huck McCready earned match medalist honors after carding a 37 on the day. Brian Middleton added a 41, Brendan Tourgee chipped in with a 43, and both Joey Ryan and Teddy Shuman finished with a 44.

Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 0 – Final – Taunton got a scoreless draw on the road at North to earn first-year head coach Dan Borges his first Hockomock point. North had a significant edge in shots but couldn’t convert any of their scoring chances, including a bid from Abi Pratt that hit the post and stayed out. Borges praised the play of Cali Melo and Christina DaCosta on the defensive end. Eighth grader Ashlyn Hebert earned her first career start and first career clean sheet in the Taunton goal.

Attleboro, 6 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Attleboro’s Marley Young scored once and recorded three more assists to lead the Bombardiers to a win over a gritty Stoughton squad. Siobhan Landers scored a pair of first quarter goals to set the tone for the Bombardiers while Alyvia Bessette, Nora Desrosiers, and Emilie Chartier each added one. Young added a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter for the visitors. For Stoughton, Katherine Giroux had an outstanding game offensively while Morgan Groppi and Nicole Reid also had strong outings.

King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – King Philip countered with three unanswered goals in the second half to take care of business on the road in Easton, earning a 3-1 decision over OA. Following a scoreless first half, the Tigers took the lead in the third quarter on a goal from Erin Cottam off a feed from Olivia Stevens. KP tied it before the end of the quarter and took its first lead going into the fourth, where they added a key insurance tally. Leah Santoro scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, Kelly Holmes added one, and sophomore Lucy Weineck added a strong all around performance in the win.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game – A pair of second half goals and a few key saves in the final moments helped North Attleboro secure a win on the road in a competitive contest at Alumni Field. North registered 11 corners in the first half but couldn’t solve Mansfield’s defense and goalie Lily Danehy. The Rocketeers finally broke through with just under five minutes to go in the third as Francesca Spencer kept the play alive near the touchline and dropped a pass into the middle where Julia Puccio was able slide a low shot into the net. North added a key insurance goal as the clock ticked under two minutes to go in the game as Puccio got her second, finishing off an assist from Caitlin Vacher. Puccio and Rory McGinley made key stops on Mansfield corners (six total) in the final minutes to prevent a look at goal. Eman Farid (six saves) made multiple saves with a minute to go to preserve the win. Gracie Leary (two saves) and Farid combined for the shutout for North.

Aguilar carried possession from midfield into the attack before sliding a lot shot into the back of the net just 16 seconds into the game. Sharon’s Natalie Kessler recorded the shutout in net.

King Philip, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – King Philip bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-23) on the road over Oliver Ames. Senior middle Emily Sawyer had 11 kills, four blocks, and four aces to lead the way for the Warriors. Senior Ahunna James added six kills, three blocks, and three aces, and senior Sami Shore recorded four kills and four blocks in the win. For Oliver Ames, junior Rachel Fleischman had a standout game defensively with 15 serve receptions, 12 digs, and three aces. Maddie Homer added 25 digs, Clare Kavoulis finished with 24 assists, and Sarah Hilliard recorded 14 kills.

Attleboro, 3 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Attleboro went on the road and prevailed in three sets against a tough Stoughton squad (25-19, 25-10, 27-25). Natalie Brojek set the offense in motion with 33 assists and had a stellar day at the service line with nine aces. Julia Leonardo (14 kills) and Addie Shelton (eight kills) led the charge offensively for the Bombardiers. For Stoughton, Patrik Oliviera and Jessie Queeney had strong defensive performances while Maya Ashu led the front row with a great offensive game.

Attleboro, 173 @ Mansfield, 155 – Final – Mansfield earned its first win of the season by taking down visiting Attleboro at Norton Country Club. Senior Drew Urban and junior Cody Nieratko shared medalist honors for the Hornets, each coming in with a round of 38. Nathan McClean added a 39 in the win and Michael Creedon finished with a 40 on the day. Leo Lombardo led the Bombardiers with a team-low round of 39.

Canton, 165 @ Oliver Ames, 149 – Final – Oliver Ames had six golfers come in under 40 in a key win over division rival Canton in a battle of Davenport heavyweights. Junior Sean Kearns was the match medalist, shooting a low-round of 36 to lead the way for the Tigers. Junior David Rodgers chipped in with a 37 while seniors Noah Isleib and Michael McGinnis each shot a 38 to round out the scoring for OA. For Canton, Huck McCready continued his strong start to the season with a team-best round of 39 and Brian Middleton added a 41 for the Bulldogs.

Mansfield, 2 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final –Mansfield sophomore Cooper Austin scored his first two career goals, one in each half, to help the Hornets grab two points on the road over Foxboro. Midway through the first half, Grady Sullivan forced a turnover in the attacking half, quickly pushed forward down the right blank and swung a service into the area where Austin got a touch to redirect it past the keeper. In the 70th minute, Austin ran in behind the defense off of a long throw from Sullivan and was taken down in the area. Austin stepped up and buried a low left-footed shot into the back of the net to make it 2-0. Liam Doyle made 12 saves in net to secure his first career shutout. Brendan Flynn, Derek McGrath, Matty Sullivan, Aidan Jones and Kyle Johnson all played well defensively for Mansfield.

Milford, 0 @ Attleboro, 4 – Final – Attleboro took the lead late in the first half and then tacked on three more in a dominating performance over a shorthanded Milford team. After a half hour of scoreless back-and-forth action, the Bombardiers found the back of the net with less than 10 minutes to go in the first half. Junior Luke Hagopian dropped a free kick to the back post where senior Lucas Marques rose up and nodded it back into the six-yard box. Junior Kyle Neuendorf settled it down and quickly buried a low shot into the back of the net. In the second half, junior Alex Vecchioli tracked down a long throw from Hagopian, carried into the area and then was taken down as he split a pair of defenders to earn a penalty kick. He calmly slotted his shot to the keeper’s left to double Attleboro’s lead in the 50th minute. Just seven minutes later, Vecchioli lofted a pass over the top of the defense where senior Steve Etienne got a slight touch right before the oncoming keeper and the ball fell to senior Richard Ferreira, who blasted a low shot through traffic and into the open net to make it 3-0. Attleboro capped the scoring on their seventh corner of the game when Hagopian’s low service wasn’t cleared, Neuendorf got a touch, and Vecchioli pounced on the loose ball inside the area.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro scored a pair of goals less than a minute in the first half in a win on the road over Taunton. Givany Carney and Bryce Newth scored back-to-back goals to give the Rocketeers the lead. Carson Dameron added a goal early in the second half for North while Javonte Fernandes (from Riley Rebello) scored a second half goal for the Tigers.

Girls Soccer
Attleboro, 5 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Milford took a lead early in the game, but the Bombardiers scored five straight, including three from Alexandra Tetrault, to secure their first win of the season. Freshman Ava Baglione got the Hawks off to a great start with her first varsity goal, but Jamie Davies responded almost immediately to level things, assisted by Kacey Parker. Tetreault would get her first of the night, and the eventual game-winner midway through the half. Tetreault added a second nearly midway through the second half to double the lead. With four minutes to play, Zenda Gjoni netted her first career goal to make it 4-1 and Tereault finished off her hat trick in the final seconds. Parker had two assists for Attleboro and Emily Dunlea and Tatum O’Brien each had one.

Sharon, 2 @ Canton, 5 – Final – Emily McCabe scored four times to lead the Bulldogs to a second win to start the season. It took Canton until midway through the first half to get going but McCabe netted a hat trick to push the Bulldogs into a commanding lead at halftime. Emma Cahill made it 4-0 in the second half, but the Eagles never stopped battling and would halve the deficit. Sofia Goclowski got the first, assisted by Olivia Soby, and Nasiba Aikulova added a second, assisted by Maddie Tajalli. McCabe tallied her fourth of the night with seven minutes remaining to finally secure the points for the Bulldogs. Alyssa Wong, Caira McKinney, Mekhala Costello, and Cahill all had assists for Canton.

North Attleboro, 147 @ Milford, 157 – Final – North Attleboro’s Jake Gaskin and Dillon Harding shared medalist honors to lead the Rocketeers to a win over Milford. Gaskin and Harding each carded one over par rounds of 36 at Hopedale Country Club while Tyson Laviano added a 37 and Zach Corsetti rounded out North’s scoring with a 38. For Milford, Nate Lawrence had a team-low round of 37, Anthony LaPierre added a 38, and Eric Farrell fired a 39.

Stoughton, 202 @ Foxboro, 166 – Final – Patrick Callahan had a solid day on the links at Foxboro Country Club, recording five pars and one birdie on his way to a match medalist round of 40 in Foxboro’s win over Stoughton. Callahan finished with a four-over par 40, Zac Georgantas (four pars) shot a 41, Mat Sullivan (five pars) came in with a 42, and Reese Curreri (three pars) finished with a 43. James Spector and Paul Medeiros led the way for the Black Knights, each with a 48.

King Philip, 157 @ Taunton, 180 – Final – King Philip snapped a brief two-match skid with a victory over Taunton at Segregansett Country Club. Ethan Harris shot a match medalist round of 38, Evan Regan added a 39, and both Jason Silva and Gavin Croke finished with a 40 for the Warriors. Logan Letourneau had a team-low round of 40 for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames scored to take the lead in the first half but Stoughton equalized with just under 20 minutes to play and the teams split the points with a 1-1 draw. OA sophomore Luke Churchill scored on a terrific shot from distance, taking a quickly played free kick from Casey Milliken, cutting back past a defender and firing a left-footed blast to the top corner from 30 yards out.

Milford, 3 @ Medway, 4 – Final – Milford held a pair of leads in the game but Medway rallied both times, including a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to get the win. Lucas Nalon Ribero gave the Hawks the lead off a cross from Arthur Tome, and John Borges doubled the lead off a through ball from Eduardo Santana to make it 2-0 but the hosts rallied for two goals to make it 2-2 at the break. Milford went ahead again, this time as Tome finished off a feed from Santana but Medway scored twice in the final 10 minutes to get the win.

Franklin, 2 @ King Philip, 0 – Final – Franklin scored just before halftime and then once more just before the final whistle to earn a 2-0 win, bouncing back from a setback on Friday at OA. Hansy Jacques scored for the second straight match, putting the visitors ahead in the 37th minute. Andrew O’Neill set up Noah Cain in the 75th minute to double the Panthers’ advantage.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames overcame an early deficit to come away with a win and two points on the road over the Black Knights. Stoughton took the lead just five minutes into the game before the Tigers pulled level midway through the first half when Lucinda Li Cotter headed in a service from Emma Gavin. With 10 minutes to go, Mary Cross finished off a loose ball in the box after a scramble for the winner. Lynn Elhayek and Jolie Diaz both had strong games for OA.

North Attleboro, 1 vs. Braintree, 1 – Final – Braintree scored inside the opening minutes of the match but North Attleboro leveled 10 minutes later and the teams finished tied at 1-1. Trailing 1-0 under four minutes in, North’s Emma Pratt headed in a cross from Lily Adams in the 14th minute to make it 1-1.




Field Hockey
Attleboro, 8 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Attleboro junior Siobhan Landers scored a hat trick to lead the Bombardiers to a big win on the road over Milford. Landers also added an assist, Nora Desrosiers scored a pair of goals, Marley Young had one goal and one assist, Mackenzie Cooper and Taylor Henry each found the back of the net once, and Jordan Mooney recorded two assists in the win.

King Philip, 2 @ Franklin, 7 – Final – King Philip cut the deficit down to two with a goal less than four minutes into the fourth quarter but Franklin finished with three straight goals to pull away for the win. KP took the lead less than two minutes in when senior Leah Santoro scored her first career goal and held the lead for the majority of the quarter before Franklin’s Raena Crandall (from Shaw Downing and Kaitlyn Carney) scored with a minute left to make it 1-1. Carney scored twice in the second quarter, the first unassisted and the second from Haley Wernig and Sophia Cuneo, to give the Panthers a 3-1 halftime lead, and Emily Carney (from Kaitlyn Carney) scored the lone goal of the third to extend Franklin’s lead to 4-1 going into the fourth. Junior Mara Boldy converted a pass from Kelly Holmes four minutes into the fourth to cut the deficit to 4-2 but goals from Wernig (from E. Carney), Crandall (from K. Carney), and Kaitlyn Carney iced the win. Devon Barry made eight saves in net for the Panthers while Haley Bright had a stellar performance in the cage for KP. Holmes, and seniors Avery Hayes and Maggie Murphy all played well defensively for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first quarter, North netted a pair of goals in the second before adding one more in each of the third and fourth quarters to take down Taunton. Julia Puccio opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 2:56 left in the half and then recorded an assist on North’s second goal, smacking a shot off a corner that was redirected in by Caroline Folan. Folan added to North’s lead early in the third, taking a feed from Ava Spencer and using a big sweeping shot to find the back of the net. In the fourth, Spencer got her first goal of the game with Puccio getting another assist.

Oliver Ames, 9 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Erin Cottam scored a team-high four goals and Oliver Ames entered the win column with a 9-0 decision at Stoughton. Cottam also had two helpers in the win while Megan Crabtree added a goal and two assists, and Julia Maclaine was an assist machine with four on the day. Olivia Stevens and Kayla Kenney each added two goals apiece in the win.

Sharon, 0 @ Canton, 9 – Final

Foxboro, 2 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – After a scoreless first half, Foxboro finally solved Mansfield in the second half, scoring once in each of the third and fourth quarters to get the win. Mary Collins broke the stalemate midway through the third quarter, scoring at 7:32 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Jenny Gallagher gave the Warriors a key insurance goal at 12:07 of the fourth. Lily Danehy was excellent in net once again for the Hornets, making 14 saves.




Volleyball
Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 2 – Final – A seesaw back-and-forth battle saw Sharon emerged with a hard-fought 3-2 win (26-24, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11) over host Canton. Zoey Scibelli, Kaitlin Bigham, and Kelly Schiavo all played well for Canton.

King Philip, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – A battle between two of the best teams in the state lived up to the hype as the Panthers claimed a 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-20) win in an extremely competitive and tight contest. Junior Taylor Lacerda recorded 11 kills, 11 digs, and a pair of aces for the Panthers while senior middle Rachel Taylor added six kills, five blocks, and one ace. For KP, Emily Sawyer landed 14 kills along with a pair of aces, Sami Shore added six kills and three aces, Ahunna James recorded five kills, and Olivia O’Neil chipped in with four kills and two aces.

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Foxboro won an epic third set to keep the matching going but the Hornets closed it out in the next set to secure a 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 30-32, 25-20) win in a highly competitive and entertaining match. For the Warriors, Shannon McElhinney had four aces and 16 digs, Alyssa Cloherty dished out 19 assists to go with 11 digs, and Mallorie Meyer had a strong all-around game with 10 digs, six kills, and four aces.

Taunton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – Taunton kept the match going with a win in the third set but North Attleboro closed it out in four, taking a 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17) win over the Tigers. Junior setter Remi Zides dished out 20 assists and the Rocketeers had a balanced attack: freshman middle Lincoln Abramaitys recorded six kills and four solo blocks and senior middle Mariah Barbosa added nine kills and two solo blocks. Defensively, senior Avery Bitar recorded right digs for the Big Red. For Taunton, Anna Abouzied had a strong all-around game with five aces, four kills, four digs, and three assists. Megan Rose, Sadie Herry, and Mia Fernandes all played well defensively and on serve receive to keep the Tigers in the match.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames bounced back from a tight loss in the first set to win three in a row and take home a victory from Stoughton, 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15). Claire O’Rourke was a force at the service line with 27 service points along with 13 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Clare Kavoulis dished out 39 assists, senior Maddie Homer had 28 digs and 21 serve receptions, and junior Sarah Hilliard landed 19 kills.

Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Attleboro went on the road and won three straight to knock off Milford (25-13, 25-22, 25-17). Natalie Brojek continued her strong start to the season with 30 assists, three aces, and three blocks. North Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 1 – Final – Canton converted a penalty kick in the final minute of play to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw against visiting North Attleboro. After a scoreless first half, the Rocketeers went ahead on the opening goal of the game midway through the second half as Kaden Burns headed in a cross from Bryce Newth. A unlucky bounce led to a penalty kick in the final minute and Canton senior Jake McCabe buried it to bring the Dogs level in the 80th minute.

Field Hockey
Taunton, 1 @ New Bedford, 2 – Final – Taunton fell to 1-1 on the season after dropping a close contest on the road at New Bedford. Caelen O’Leary scored the lone goal for the Tigers off of an assist from Caroline Vallarelli. Jasmine Lucier made seven stops in net while Bridget MacDougall (one defensive save), Thal Nogueira, Sydney Moreton, and Casey O’Leary all played well defensively.

Volleyball
Attleboro, 3 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – Final – Attleboro picked up one of its best wins in recent program history, knocking off in-town rival Bishop Feehan, 3-1 (26-28, 25-18, 25-12, 25-19). Junior Natalie Brojek had a strong game for the hosts with 23 assists and 12 digs. Sadie Whitmarsh added 16 digs and sophomore Julia Leonardo hammered down 21 kills.
