Oliver Ames, 7 vs. New Bedford, 11 – Final – Oliver Ames got off to a great start with four runs in the first inning but New Bedford answered with seven runs in the second and never surrendered that lead for a win at Frothingham. For OA, Ian Kelly had a big day with three hits and three RBI, Andrew Rodgers added three hits, and Jack Richardson, Jake Waxman (two hits, two runs), Patrick Finnerty, and Joe Cicchetti each had an RBI for the Tigers, who only allowed three earned runs.

Sharon, 7 @ Mansfield, 15 – Final – Mansfield’s bats stayed hot at the start of the game and it carried throughout as the Hornets secured a 15-7 win, their third victory of the week and fourth straight overall. Sharon carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the first inning after an RBI single from Dan Okstein, but the Hornets took advantage of four straight walks to start the game and pushed across all four of them for a 4-1 lead. Mansfield really broke it open in the bottom of the second, plating eight runs — all but one coming with two outs. Connor Curtis had an RBI double, Jake Maydak drove in two with a triple, Brian Butler knocked in two more with a double, and both Aiden Jones and Conner Zukowski drove in a run to make it 12-1. Butler and senior Jeremy Rotenberg each had two hits for the Hornets while Zukowski (three stolen bases), Anthony Sacchetti, and Jimmy Gilleran each scored twice. Okstein finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, as well as two scoreless innings in relief, for the Eagles while Will Hippler added two hits and three runs and Ryan Baker drove in a pair.

Attleboro, 6 vs. Holliston, 3 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 10 vs. Concord-Carlisle, 7 – Final – Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Kaitlyn Carney scored five goals and had three assists and the Panthers went on a 4-0 run in the second half to pull out a win over Concord-Carlisle in a rematch of last year’s D1 East final. The Panthers controlled the first half, winning 6-of-7 draw controls, forcing the Concord goalie into six saves, and going 11 minutes before allowing a shot on goal on the other end. Carney opened the scoring inside the first minute with a sidearm finish and then her pass from behind the cage picked out Kenzie Baker to double the lead. Carney then intercepted a clearance and threw a skip pass to Lindsay Atkinson to make it 3-0 after eight minutes. Brigid Earley came up with a couple of big saves with nine minutes left in the half and the Panthers extended the lead with a free position goal from Kate O’Rourke and a good dodge at the crease by Jackie O’Neil. The visitors got one back before halftime and carried the momentum through the break. Earley (eight saves) came up with a big point-blank stop early in the second half, but the Patriots scored twice to make it 5-3 with 20 minutes to go. Katie Peterson set up Carney to move back in front by three, but Concord-Carlisle scored two straight and it was a one-goal game with 16:23 to go. Carney got her fourth of the day cutting across the middle and then she set up Baker for her second. O’Rourke finished from a free position to make it 9-5 and then Carney fired in another strong sidearm shot to push the lead back to five with less than nine minutes to go.

Milford, 11 vs. Norwood, 8 – Final – After six straight games on the road to start the season, Milford earned a hard-fought win in its first home game of the season. Junior Carley Haley scored just under a minute into the contest to set the tone for the Scarlet Hawks, who built a 5-4 advantage by halftime. After Norwood pulled level at 7-7, the Hawks came out of a timeout with four straight goals to run away with the win. Emily Croteau (three goals, two assists), Aislinn Bennett (four goals), and Haley (three goals, one assist) each scored a pair of goals in the second half to lead the balanced attack. Caitlin Bangart had a standout performance in net while senior Emma Tredeau anchored a strong defensive effort.

Friday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/29/22

Baseball
Canton @ Cardinal Spellman – Postponed to Saturday, May 14 at 10:00.

King Philip, 4 @ Braintree, 5 – Final – King Philip scored a run in the top of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead on the road at Braintree but the Wamps pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk off with the win. KP plated a single run in each of the first innings but two runs in the bottom of the third and one in the bottom of the sixth brought the hosts level. Brendan Sencaj had an RBI single to score Travis Crawford in the first to make it 1-0, Eli Reed drove in a run with two outs in the second to make it 2-0, and Rudy Gately had a two-out RBI single to plate Shawn Legere in the third to build a 3-0 lead. In the top of the seventh, with the game knotted at 3-3, after Legere was intentionally walked, Sencaj drove in Crawford for the second time to make it 4-3. Braintree used a walk and an error to get into scoring position, and another infield hit to score the game-winner. Sophomore Tommy McLeish was strong on the mound for the Warriors, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks, striking out three in three innings while sophomore Max Robison allowed just one run (unearned) on one hit and no walks in three innings.

Mansfield, 4 vs. Walpole, 2 – Final – A day after handing Taunton its first loss of the season, Mansfield added another quality win by knocking off visiting Walpole. Similar to the prior game, Mansfield got off to another great start offensively with three runs in the bottom of the first, and one more in the bottom of the second to offset the Timberwolves’ run in the top half. Conner Zukowski got the offense going again with a leadoff single and Matt DeShiro added a double to put runners on second and third. Anthony Sacchetti brought Zukowski home on a sac fly, Jimmy Gilleran had an RBI double, and Connor Curtis brought in the third run on a two-out hit for a 3-0 lead. After Walpole scored in the top of the second, Mansfield answered on a single from Sacchetti to score Zukowski (walk). Aaron Blinn got the win on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, striking out seven in four innings of work. Curtis earned a three-inning save, allowing just one hit over that span with a pair of strikeouts.

Milford, 5 @ Hopedale, 1 – Final – Milford junior Evan Cornelius dazzled on the mound for the Scarlet Hawks, striking out a career-high 17 batters in a 5-1 win over non-league rival Hopedale. Cornelius tossed a complete game with just one run allowed on six hits, walking two to get the win. Milford pushed across two runs in the second inning and added on three key insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Cornelius helped his cause at the plate as well, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Damien Carter, Alex McColl, and Nate Scudo each drove in a run for the Hawks as well.

Sharon, 3 @ Norwell, 9 – Final – Alex Coughlin (4.1IP, 3K, 1ER) and Zack Loomis (1.2 IP, 2K, 0ER) both pitched well for the Eagles while Luke Meixel (two hits, RBI, run), Nate Yaffe (hit, two walks), and Will Hippler (1-for-3) led the offense.

Softball
Franklin, 8 vs. Needham, 3 – Final – Needham pushed across a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game but Franklin answered with five runs in the bottom half to pull away for the win at home. Reece Allen led off with a single, Georgia Harvey walked, and Katy Liberman reached on a fielder’s choice to load the bases for the Panthers. Hailey Fales drove in one run with a single, and Carly Johnson-Pellegri followed with a two-run base hit to make it 6-3. The Panthers pushed another run across on an error and Kiera Kotwicki plated another run with a sac fly. Aislinn Lavery got the win in the circle, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks, striking out six in a complete game effort.

North Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – Final – For the second time in as many days, King Philip sophomore Jordan Bennett tossed a complete game shutout without issuing a walk, this time leading the Warriors to a non-league win over North Attleboro. Bennett allowed four hits, including a leadoff single that was erased at third by catcher Maddie Paschke, and struck out five for the win. Offensively, KP took the lead with a run in the bottom of the second and tacked on two more in each the third and the fifth to secure its 10th win of the season. Ava Kelley singled and came around to score after a throwing error to make it 1-0. Meg Sherwood delivered a two-run single, scoring both Liv Petrillo (walk) and Sarah Cullen (dropped third strike) to extend the lead to 3-0 after three innings. In the fifth, Sherwood brought home Cullen (double) on a ground out, and Charlotte Raymond had a two-out RBI to bring Kelley in for her second run of the game.

Oliver Ames, 11 @ Milford, 6 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Wyatt Fritchman exploded for seven goals as the Tigers secured a non-league win on the road over Milford. Ben Reardon added a hat trick in the win while Victor Romeiro netted his first career goal. Noah Isleib turned away 11 shots in net for OA.

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 14 vs. Braintree, 8 – Final – Foxboro pulled away in the second half to secure a third straight win. Paige Curran scored five goals and had one assist and the Warriors also got hat tricks from Val Beigel and Mya Waryas. Beigel added a helper. Mary Collins had a goal and three assists and Kate Collins and Cate Noone both scored once apiece. Audrey Campbell made 10 saves for the second straight game to pick up the win in goal.

Thursday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/28/22

Baseball
King Philip, 5 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final – Rudy Gately tossed a complete game, allowing only one earned run, to help the Warriors bounce back with a road win. Gately gave up six hits and struck out five. He also had a hit and scored a pair of runs. Max Robison drove in the first KP run in the second with a ground ball that brought in Gately, who had walked. In the third, Travis Crawford singled and stole second. Matthew Kelley dropped down a sac bunt to move Crawford to third and then Shawn Legere scored the run with a double to center. KP scored the winning runs in the sixth. Brendan Sencaj singled and Gately bunted for a hit, with Sencaj moving to third and Gately taking second. Will Astorino’s ground ball brought in one and Matt DiFiore’s safety squeeze scored Gately. The Warriors got an insurance run in the seventh. Kelley walked and Legere was hit by a pitch. A Sencaj fly ball moved Kelley to third and he would come home on a passed ball.

Sharon, 6 @ Canton, 10 – Final – Canton put up 10 runs for the second straight day and earned another win, this time taking down visiting Sharon. Tied 1-1 through 3.5 innings, Canton exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a lead for good. Jay Kelleher and Matt Quan each drove in a pair of runs with a single to push the Bulldogs advantage to 6-1. Sharon responded with four runs in the top of the fifth to make it a one-run game but Canton answered with three of its own in the bottom half to pad the lead, getting an RBI from both Hayden Rose and Matt Hart. Jack Digirolamo went 3-for-4 for Canton with two RBI and two runs scored while Quan tossed two scoreless innings in relief to get the save. Palash Raina had a three-run triple for Sharon and scored a pair of runs.

Foxboro, 9 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – Foxboro freshman Nolan Gordon tossed a complete game shutout to lead the Warriors to a quality win on the road at Frothingham Park over Oliver Ames. Gordon allowed seven hits, six of them singles, and didn’t have a walk, striking out four for the win. The Warriors’ offense plated three runs in three straight innings starting in the third inning. Junior Louis Carangelo had an RBI single, freshman Ryan O’Leary scored on a wild pitch, and Jack Watts scored on a ground out as Foxboro jumped ahead 3-0. Freshman Ben Angelini had a one-out RBI single to start the scoring in the fourth, and Carangelo drove in two more with a two-out single to center to make it 6-0. Liam Mulkern’s triple brought Tom Marcucella (double) home in the top of the fifth, Angelini drew a bases-loaded walk for a run, and Kenny Mello (HBP) scored on a ground out to make it 9-0.

Milford, 1 @ Franklin, 11 – Final (6 Inn.) – Franklin pushed across four runs in the bottom of the third to increase its lead to 5-0, and then ended the game with a six-run fifth inning to knock off Milford. Jase Lyons continued to rake at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored to pace the Panthers’ offense. Chris Goode added two hits and two RBI, Eisig Chin also drove in two runs, and Henry DiGiorgio had a pair of hits and three runs scored. Junior Alfred Mucciarone had a strong outing on the bump, allowing one run on six hits and no walks, striking out five in five innings.

Taunton, 2 @ Mansfield, 7 – Final – Mansfield exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and that was enough as the Hornets handed Taunton its first loss of the season. The Tigers staked a 1-0 lead after an RBI double from Braden Sullivan scored Dawson Bryce in the top of the first but Mansfield answered quickly, loading the bases on three of the first four at-bars. Jared Fraone singled in Matt DeShiro, Connor Curtis drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0, and Jake Maydak brought home two runs on a base hit. With two outs, Conner Zukowski got his second hit of the inning with a two-run double to make it 7-1. Jimmy Gilleran handled the lead the rest of the way for the Hornets, allowing just two runs on five hits and one walk, striking out six in a complete game effort.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton led 3-0 after two innings, but North rallied with seven runs in the final two innings to pick up the win and stay unbeaten in league play. Danny Curran went the distance for the Rocketeers, allowing only four hits and one earned run, striking out seven. The Black Knights got one in the first and two in the second to take the early lead. It took until the sixth inning before North got on the board. Derek Maceda started the rally with a walk, stole second, and scored on a triple by Tyler DeMattio (3-for-3, two extra base hits and two RBI). DeMattio would score on a ground out by Curran. North took the lead with a five-run seventh. Jordan Paradis beat out an infield single to lead things off, David Floyd followed with a single and both moved up on a sac bunt by Christian Bates. Tyler Bannon brought them both home with a double and DeMattio scored him with a double. Curran (three RBI) plated two more with a single up the middle to put North up by four.

Softball
Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 7 – Final – King Philip softball Jordan Bennett tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Warriors to a 7-0 win over a quality opponent in Attleboro. Bennett allowed just two singles — both to Attleboro’s Lily Routhier — with one coming in the first, and one coming in the sixth, but responded with a strikeout for the third out on both occasions. Junior Charlotte Raymond and freshman Liv Petrillo each brought in a run with an RBI single during KP’s four-run second inning, and two runs came in to score after an error on sophomore Maddie Paschke’s squeeze bunt. KP added two key insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth after both junior Sarah Cullen and sophomore Caitlyn Sencaj singled and then both came into score on a hit from senior Meg Sherwood. Petrillo drove in another run with a double in the bottom of the fifth to plate Mia Bennett (walk).

Canton, 16 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – Jessica Wright and Olivia Mackwell each recorded five hits and drove in five runs as Canton picked up a big win on the road over Sharon. Sam Vrabel added four hits and drove in three runs while Taylor Reynolds chipped in with a pair of hits and four RBI on the same. Sophia Santos and Gillian Gordon pitched well for the Bulldogs in the win.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 10 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game – Foxboro scored in each of the first five innings, including a four-run second and a three-run fifth, to secure a win over visiting Oliver Ames. Freshman Vittoria Cuscia had a big day for the Warriors, getting it done both in the circle and at the plate. She tossed a complete game, including six shutout innings before the Tigers struck for three in the seventh. She added seven strikeouts and then paced the offense with three hits and two runs scored. Peyton Feldman had a big day on the base path, stealing four bases and scoring three runs.

Franklin, 18 @ Milford, 8 – Final – Franklin’s bats exploded for 18 runs on 18 hits, scoring in five straight innings between the second and sixth inning during a victory over Milford. Sophomore Carly Johnson-Pellegri had a huge day at the dish, going 4-for-5 while driving in eight runs to pace the Panthers’ offense, scoring three times herself. Kiera Kotwicki added three hits, three runs, and RBI in the win while Aislinn Lavery (two RBI), Georgia Harvey, Katy Liberman and Hailey Fales each added two hits in the win. Milford’s Cae Pellegrini had two hits, including her second home run in as many days, and sophomore Grace Bonina chipped in with two hits and two RBI in the win.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 13 – Final (5 Inn.) – Taunton scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back, rolling to a big win and ending Mansfield’s three-game win streak. Liv Mendonca allowed just two hits and one walk and struck out nine to pick up the win. Kyleah Plumb (two runs), Kaysie DeMoura (two runs and five RBI), Ava Venturelli (thee runs and two RBI), and Hayley Krockta (run scored and RBI) each had two hits for the Tigers. Angie Lynch drove in a pair and Kylie Thorpe and Mendonca both drove in one. Venturelli and DeMoura both went deep for Taunton. Callie Lake and Cat Kipp had Mansfield’s hits.

Stoughton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 7 – Final – Kelly Colleran was dominant in the circle and at the plate, leading North to a crucial division win over Stoughton. Colleran earned the win with a 14-strikeout day and helped her own cause by going 3-for-4 with two homers, a double, and three RBI. Mandi Hanewich continued to do her job in the leadoff spot with two hits, two stolen bases and a run scored. Shaelyn Burns blasted a three-run homer in the third to give North separation. Ally Levine and Zoey McDonough added a hit and a run scored apiece, while Maryellen Charette had a strong game at catcher.




Boys Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 14 @ Canton, 9 – Final – Clayton Billingkoff and Connor Ruppert each scored four goals to help North earn the season sweep of Canton. Matt Antonetti added a hat trick for the Rocketeers and JT Gallagher was trong in goal with 12 saves. Jared Vacher continued to be a force on the draw, winning 19 face-offs.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro vs. Norton, 4:00

Boys Tennis
Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip swept all three singles matches and added another win in doubles play, taking a 4-1 verdict over visiting Attleboro. Senior Brady Jannell prevailed with a hard-fought 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 win at first singles, senior Jonathan Cohen added a 6-1, 6-1 second doubles win, and junior Jackson Hom secured a 6-2, 6-4 win at third singles. The team of senior Diego Neto and junior Noah Ihley added a first doubles win (7-6, 6-4) for the Warriors. Attleboro’s Luke Hinton and Brady Rosen won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles.

Canton, 2 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – A sweep of doubles and one win from singles action gave Sharon a close win over visiting Canton. The team of Ruemon Bhattacharyya and Mitch Weiss won at first doubles, while Hyojae Park and Sava Kassev won at second doubles for the Eagles. Sharon also got a win from Jacob Slavsky (6-1, 6-0) at third singles. Canton sophomore Max Kupferman prevailed from a well-played, hard-fought first singles battle with sophomore Matthew Lally to take a 6-3, 6-7, 10-8 win while Suraj Ramanathan added a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles for the Bulldogs.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this match – Oliver Ames second doubles team of Alex Vasiliou and Ben Dias emerged victorious after a marathon three-set match, giving the Tigers their fourth straight win. Second doubles was a battle from the get-go and Vasiliou and Dias prevailed with a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 win to clinch the match. The Tigers also got a big win from sophomore Nick Westerbeke, who dropped the first set 0-6 but rallied to win the second, and took the third 6-2 at first singles.

Franklin, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – Franklin won all five matches in straights to stay undefeated on the season, moving to 7-0. Senior Drew Mahoney earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, sophomore Ahan Shetty secured a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles, and junior Ryan Essam prevailed from third singles with a 6-4, 6-4 verdict. The team of seniors Tim O’Keefe and Aidan Karlowicz earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles, and the team of freshman Dan Reis and junior Tyler Fitzpatrick were victorious, 6-1, 6-0, at second doubles.

Mansfield, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Senior Pratham Tallam and junior Jesse Colchamiro overcame a one-set deficit to prevail with a third-set tiebreaker win, completing Mansfield’s sweep over Taunton. Pratham and Colchamiro earned a 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 win at first doubles and sophomore Jacob Weiner and junior James Kennedy secured a 6-3, 6-3 win at second doubles. Mansfield won all three singles matches in first sets: Neema Khosravani (6-1, 6-1) at first singles, Kailash Elumela (6-2, 6-0) at second singles, and Benson Delaney (6-0, 6-0) at third singles.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – Freshman Darren Liang and the sophomore tandem of Quinn DiFiore and Aaryan Anjna both overcome a one-set deficit to get a win, helping North Attleboro complete a sweep over Stoughton. Liang rallied for a win at third singles, taking the match 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 while DiFiore and Anjna earned a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10) win at second doubles. Senior Will Folan took a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first singles, junior Brody Carter added a 6-3, 7-5 victory at second sinlges, and the team of junior Griffin Rodden and sophomore Arnav Raghuvanshi secured a 6-4, 6-3 first doubles win for North Attleboro.




Girls Tennis
King Philip, 2 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final – Attleboro picked up its biggest win of the season, getting a big boost in doubles action, with a 3-2 decision over King Philip. Seniors Saharla Yusuf and Tina Lam continued their impressive campaign with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win at first doubles while the team of senior Alison Rebelo and junior Bree Paulette emerged with a 6-4, 6-3 win at second doubles. The Bombardiers got a third point at first singles from senior Ella Lynch Bartek (6-2, 6-6 [2-3] ret.). King Philip sophomore Shea Mellman earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at second singles and junior Caroline Freese added a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win at third singles.

Sharon, 5 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Sharon’s Navya Shukla emerged from a third-set tiebreaker that took 34 points to decide to get the win, completing the Eagles’ sweep over Canton. Shukla and Canton’s Camila Cutter split the first two sets before engaging in an epic tie-breaker with the hosts first singles prevailing 6-4, 4-6, 18-16. Sharon also got wins from Ale Aguilar at second singles (6-2, 6-2), Judy Song at third singles (6-1, 6-1), the team of Ritu Sreeram and Sophia Oh at first doubles (6-2, 6-2), and the duo of Sasha Fein and Abby Vilk at second doubles (6-2, 6-4).

Foxboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – The team of Olivia Querzoli and Marina Mierzwinksi rallied from a one-set deficit to win two in a row, clinching the decisive third point to give the Tigers a win over Foxboro, their third win this week. Querzoli and Mierzwinksi rallied to secure a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win while OA’s first doubles team of Morgan Vasiliou and Caroline Peper earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory. OA’s first win came at third singles from Elizabeth O’Brien (6-2, 6-1). Foxboro won both first singles (Athena Li) and second singles (Hailey Kornbluth) without dropping a set, taking both 6-0, 6-0.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Taking all five matches in straight sets, Franklin defended home court against visiting Milford. Izzy Trull took a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles, Vedika Vinayak earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles, and Sarah Schiavo completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at third singles. The team of Allison Bagley and Amulya Jayam earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at at first doubles while the tandem of Ashmita Boopathy and Brooke Daniels emerged with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second doubles.

Taunton vs. Greater New Bedford, 5:00

Canton, 10 @ King Philip, 9 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game. – Canton senior catcher Sean Sullivan threw out the tying run at third in the top of the seventh and junior Matt Lesser finished off the save in the same at-bat for the final out as the Bulldogs outlasted King Philip on the road. The Bulldogs scored in each of the first innings, taking advantage of a handful of KP defensive miscues to eventually lead 8-3 after four innings. King Philip cut the deficit down to just a run with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by back-to-back RBI doubles from Brendan Sencaj and Rudy Gately. Jay Kelleher’s single — Canton’s fourth straight to start the sixth — brought in Matt Chafin and Jack Digirolamo (three hits) to put the visitors ahead 10-7. KP bounced right back in the bottom half with two runs of its own, a long triple from Sencaj (three RBI) to bring in Matt Kelley and Shawn Legere. KP got the tying run on with a single and a steal, but Sullivan gunned him down at third after a ball in the dirt. Travis Crawford also had two hits and two RBI for the Warriors.

Foxboro, 2 @ Franklin, 8 – Final – Franklin pushed across three runs in the first inning, two more in the third, and never looked back in a win under the lights over Foxboro. Evan Raider and Henry Digiorgio had back-to-back sacrifice flies to plate a run apiece and Jase Lyons had a two-out RBI single to plate Chris Goode (HBP) to seize and early 3-0 advantage. Digiorgio added an RBI double to score Goode (double) in the third, and Lyons added another RBI base hit to extend Franklin’s advantage to 5-0. Eisig Chin added an RBI triple in the sixth for the Panthers, and Joe Tirrell brought two home with a base hit to left. Jacob Jette got the win on the mound for the Panthers, allowing two runs (one earned) one three hits and one walk, striking out four. Ryan LeClair had two hits and scored a run for Foxboro.

Softball
Mansfield, 13 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (5 Inn.) – Mansfield made it three wins in a row with a shutout of Sharon. Julia Kelly and Amanda Schwarz combined on a one-hitter for the Hornets, who also pounded out 14 hits as a team. Mansfield took a 4-0 lead in the first. Callie Lake singled and would score on a base hit by Liv Madeira. Jill Koppy and Molly Kucharski also had RBI singles in the inning. The Hornets doubled their lead in the second. Kelly led off with a double and would score on an error, while Madeira and Alanna Conley both drove in runs with singles. Mansfield completed the scoring in the third with five more runs. Lake drove in one and Casey Moussette plated a pair. Madeira and Conley each finished the day with three hits and Lake had a pair.

Milford, 3 @ North Attleboro, 6 – Final – North continued to get dominant pitching to extend its win streak to four games. Zoey McDonough was in the circle and struck out 15 batters, while allowing only five hits and a walk, to pick up the victory. Mandi Hanewich had a pair of hits, a walk, and two RBI to pace the offensive attack. Kelly Colleran had a double and drove in two, while Emma Hanwell and Ally Levine each had a hit and an RBI. Maryellen Charette and Shaelyn Burns both had a hit and a run scored for North.

Boys Lacrosse
King Philip @ Attleboro, 3:45

Canton, 11 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – Final – For Oliver Ames, Ben Reardon (two goals, three assists) and Ryan Jaco (three goals, two assists) each had five points while Wyatt Fritchman recorded a pair of goals. Noah Isleib was terrific in net for the Tigers with 21 saves.

North Attleboro, 13 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Behind a strong defensive effort and a standout performance from Jared Vacher at the face off X, North Attleboro secured a quality win over a quality opponent on the road at Sharon. Vacher won 12 of 18 face offs in a battle of two of the top faceoff specialists in the Hock against Sharon’s Ben Shocket. Senior Clayton Billingkoff scored a team-high five goals to pace the offense while senior Connor Ruppert added four goals. JT Gallagher had a big game in net with 10 saves for the Rocketeers.




Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 15 – Final – Julia Marsden, Makenzie McDevitt, and Morgan Cunningham each recorded four points to lead King Philip to a big win over visiting Attleboro. Both Marsden and McDevitt scored four goals apiece while Cunningham had one goal and three assists.

Oliver Ames, 8 @ Canton, 12 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game. – The Bulldogs remain unbeaten and in a tie for first in the division by holding off the Tigers. Canton closed out the half with four straight goals to take a two goal lead into the break and extended the lead to as many as five goals in the second half. Emily McCabe led the way for the hosts with four goals and two assists. OA held a 4-3 lead midway through the opening half. Hailey Bourne got her first to start the scoring before McCabe answered back. Canton then jumped in front when Carly Fitzgerald’s pass in front was tipped home by Ella Yeaton. Catie Wilson tied it for OA and Gergia Costello made it 3-2. After Devan Spinale tied it again, Bourne got her second and Wilson added another for a 5-3 lead. Off the draw, McCabe found Shannon McGrann for a goal to cut the lead to one and McGrann tied it three minutes later from a free position. Spinale and Fay Gallery added two more, the last coming with 22.1 on the clock, for a 7-5 lead. Early in the second half, Costello got OA within one but Allie McCabe spun through the heart of the OA defense to restore the two-goal lead. Jess Widdop made a couple of saves on Canton free positions before Emily McCabe dodged from the top and found her way to goal. McCabe added another just seconds later to make it 10-6. A steal by Olivia O’Rourke led to a goal for Wilson but Yeaton found McCabe cutting through the middle to make it 11-7. Allie McCabe added her second for the Bulldogs before Wilson wrapped up the scoring in the final minute. Elyse Broderick made seven saves in goal for Canton.

Foxboro, 18 @ Mansfield, 5 – Final – Mya Waryas scored five goals and dished out two assists and the Warriors rolled to another big league win that keeps them in a tie for first place in the Davenport division. Paige Curran (two assists) and Mary Collins (one assist) each added four goals apiece for Foxboro, which also got two goals and an assist from Cate Noone, a goal and an assist from Kate Collins, a goal and two assists from Val Beigel, and a goal from Grace Riley. Audrey Campbell made 10 saves to pick up the win in goal.

Taunton, 3 @ Franklin, 20 – Final – Franklin had over a dozen players find their way onto the scoring sheet in a big win over visiting Taunton. Kenzie Baker and Jamie Tanner finished with three goals apiece to pace the offense. Cali Melo, Maddison Szala, and Aria Cordeiro each scored for Taunton.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 15 – Final – Bailey Garte scored both goals for Sharon and Ava Jacobson had an assist.




Boys Tennis
Taunton, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final – Oliver Ames defended home court by winning all five matches against visiting Taunton. The freshmen duo of Alex Efrimidas and Patrick Dolan had a standout performance in the win, both playing strong at the net to secure a 6-3, 6-3 win at first doubles.

Mansfield, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Sharon secured a pair of wins in both singles and doubles play to grab a win over visiting Mansfield. Sophomore Matthew Lally emerged victorious after a tenacious battle with Mansfield freshman Neema Khosravani, taking first singles 7-6 (4), 6-7 (3), 10-8. Freshman Jacob Slovsky added a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles for the Eagles. Seniors Ruemon Bhattacharyya and Mitch Weiss won at first doubles (6-1, 6-1) while juniors Kevin Li and Hyojae Park took the win at second doubles for the Eagles. Mansfield sophomore Kailash Elumalei rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 win at second singles.

Milford, 0 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – After splitting the first two sets, North Attleboro’s first doubles tandem of junior Griffin Rodden and sophomore Arnav Raghuvanshi prevailed in a third set tiebreaker to complete the five-match set for the Rocketeers. Rodden and Raghuvanshi won 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 while sophomore Tim Le and junior Brody Gaulin rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second doubles. Senior captain Will Folan secured a 6-0, 6-0 first singles win, junior Brody Carter added a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles, and freshman Darren Liang took home a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles.

Girls Tennis
Oliver Ames, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Elizabeth O’Brien overcame a one-set deficit to earn a win in a third-set tiebreaker to complete the sweep on the road over Taunton. O’Brien rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 win at third singles, Hannah Farber added a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, and Mia Corradini prevailed with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 comeback win at second singles. The team of Morgan Vasiliou and Caroline Peper grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles while Marina Mierzwinski and Olivia Querzoli battled to a 6-3, 6-3 second doubles win.

Sharon, 4 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Sharon won both doubles matches in straight sets to highlight a 4-1 win over Mansfield. The team of senior Ritu Sreeram and sophomore Sophia Oh grabbed a 6-0, 6-3 win at first doubles while seniors Alice Zaniewski and Rachel Rashukin emerged with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second doules. Junior Ale Aguilar added a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles.

Stoughton, 1 @ Attleboro, 4 – Final – Attleboro swept both doubles matches in straight sets and added two more wins from singles action to secure a win over visiting Stoughton. The senior tandem of Saharla Yusuf and Tina Lam grabbed a 6-2, 5-1 (inj.) win at first singles, and sophomores Kyra Johnson and Presley Biller didn’t drop a single set in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles for the Bombardiers. Senior Ella Lynch-Bartek added a 6-1, 6-2 first singles victory and sophomore Maddie Fulscado earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at second singles. Stoughton’s Stefani Reznikow emerged with a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles.

Boys Outdoor Track
Attleboro, 97 @ Milford, 39 – Final – Attleboro’s Kaiden Murray took first in three individual events as Attleboro grabbed a big win on the road over Milford. Murray won the 100M, the 110M hurdles, and the long jump while Chris Leonardo was a double-winner in the shot put and the discus. Jack Blouin and Ethan Sylvia went 1-2 in the 1 Mile, and Sylvia added a win in the 800M for the Bombardiers. Adrian Rivera was second in the 200M dash (won by Jordan Rivera-Silva), took third in the high jump, won the triple jump, and was apart of the winning 4x100M relay team. (with Rivera-Silva, Zyeem Charles, and Josh Codella)

Girls Outdoor Track
Attleboro, 73 @ Milford, 63 – Final – Emilia Smith and Jahela Douglas each won a pair of events to lead the Bombardiers to a close win over Milford. Smith anchored a sweep of the 1 Mile (followed by Taylor DeCristoforo and Bailey Ellis) and the 2 Mile (followed by DeCristoforo and Kacey Parker), and Douglas took first in the triple jump and led a sweep of the 200M (followed by Alexis Cincotta and Sophia Lyons). Rebecca Rainey led a sweep of the 400M hurdles (along with Zenda Gjoni and Allie McNamara) and Aariana Ridge won the long jump (followed by Natalie Berganza and Katerina Trieb).

Stoughton, 2 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final (8 Inn.) – Attleboro senior Evan Houle drew a one-out, bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth to bring in Christian Dame for the winning run against Stoughton. Dame got the inning started with a leadoff single, and after an intentional walk, Nate George singled to load the bases, setting up Houle’s walk-off walk. Stoughton took the lead in the top of the first after Brad Franey singled, took second on a sac bunt from Jonah Ly, advanced to third on a single from Anthony Tilton, and scored on a wild pitch. Attleboro answered with two runs in the bottom of the first, both with two outs. Owen Taber scored on a wild pitch, and then Dame (triple) scored on a single from Matt Harvie. Stoughton tied the game in the top of the fourth on an RBI single from James Price (to score Sean Farley, who walked). Parker Sackett allowed four hits in seven innings of work, striking out three. Tyler Dunlea earned the win with a 1-2-3 eighth inning, striking out one. Jonah Ly allowed two runs (none earned) on six hits and three walks in six innings of work, striking out three.

King Philip, 17 @ Canton, 0 – Final – King Philip pushed across six runs in each of the first two innings and sophomore Taylor Regan tossed a one-hit shutout as the Warriors rolled to a big win on the road. Regan allowed just one hit (a single in the fourth inning) and one walk (in the fifth) while striking out 10 in five innings of work for the win. Offensively, senior Lauren Hooper went 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to pace the KP offense. Maddie Paschke added three hits while Charlotte Raymond drove in three runs in the win.

Foxboro, 7 vs. Sandwich, 8 – Final

Franklin, 13 vs. Norwell, 12 – Final – Franklin grabbed the lead in the second half and then held off a late surge to hand Norwell its first loss of the season. Knotted at 7-7 at halftime, the Panthers won the third quarter 5-2 to take a three-goal lead into the final quarter. Junior Luke Davis scored all five of the third quarter goals and finished with a team-high six goals along with one assist to lead the offensive charge. Jayden Consigli added a hat trick and one helper while Tyler Sacchetti had two goals and three assists. Junior Ben Harvey and sophomore Drew Hansen each scored once in the first half while sophomore Eddie O’Brien and junior Ravin Chaudhury had third quarter assists.

The Hornets received wins from Evan Rawlings (400M, 59.6), Nate Kablik (100M, 11.4), Dylan Buchanan (110M hurdles, 15.4), Ty Duffin (javelin, 127’6), Ayden Agbasi (shot put, 39’7.5), Talon Johnson (800M), Chris Leonard (1 Mile, 10:32), Charles Newcomb (discus, 90’7), and a tie between Myles Brown and Chamberlain Guthrie Jr. in the 200M (23.8). Brown and Buchanan teamed up with Isaiah Kinds and Nolan Clarke to won the 4x100M in 46.4.

Baseball
Stoughton, 3 @ Foxboro, 7 – Final – Foxboro erased an early three-run deficit by scoring seven unanswered runs in a win over visiting Stoughton. A bases-clearing triple from Anthony Girolamo brought Brad Franey, Anthony Tilton, and Sean Farley home as the Black Knights staked a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Louis Carangelo answered with a two-run single and Jack Watts followed with a two-run double in the next at-bat as Foxboro pushed across four runs in the bottom of the second to take a lead that it never relinquished. Foxboro added a run in the bottom of the third (Tyler Prescott), the bottom of the fifth (Tom Marcucella RBI single), and in the bottom of the sixth (Carangelo RBI single). Sean O’Leary tossed a complete game to get the win for the Warriors, including six shutout innings after giving up three in the first. O’Leary allowed just four hits and one walk, striking out 10.

Softball
Attleboro, 16 @ Stoughton, 5 – Final

Foxboro, 4 vs. Newton South, 2 – Final – Foxboro fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first but rallied for four unanswered runs to get the win over Newton South. Peyton Feldman had a pair of hits and a pair of runs for the Warriors while Allie Willis added two hits and two RBI in the win. Emma Callahan got the win in the circle, striking out six.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 6 @ North Attleboro, 14 – Final

Foxboro, 16 @ Oliver Ames, 6 – Final – Tom Sharkey found the back of the net five times to pace the Foxboro offense in a win on the road over Oliver Ames. Lincoln Moore added four goals and an assist, Conor Noone added a hat trick and one helper, and Jack Avery, Finn Stapleton, and Tony Sulham each scored once for the Warriors. Ben Reardon, Wyatt Fritchman, and Ryan Jaco each scored twice for Oliver Ames.

King Philip, 14 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Click here for a photo gallery of this game. – KP showed no signs of rust after an 11-day break, jumping out to a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 9-1 at half to earn the road win. Kip Bishop and Sean Crowther each scored four goals and Ben Riggs chipped in with three tallies to lead the Warriors. Mansfield had four different goal scorers, Drew Sacco, Andrew Burnham, Dash Munson, and Grady Sullivan. James Boldy (KP) and Ryan DeGirolamo (Mansfield) each played well in goal.

Sharon, 17 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Sharon exploded for 17 goals with eight different players finding the back of the net on the road at Milford. Brady Daylor and Ryan Brown led the charge with four goals apiece while Jacob Kaufman, Matt Mahoney, and Sam Rothbaum each added two in the win. Ben Shocket and Matt Harshfield rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a goal apiece.




Girls Lacrosse
North Attleboro, 15 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final

Canton, 15 @ Taunton, 2 – Final – Canton had 11 different players find the back of the net in a big win on the road at Taunton. Shannon McGrann (three goals, one assist), Ella Yeaton (two goals, two assists), and Allie McCabe (one goal, three assists) paced the Bulldogs with four points apiece. Maia Mahoney scored her first career goal in the win. Taunton received goals from Sarah Clark and Maddison Szala.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Foxboro, 18 – Final – Buoyed by a balanced attack, Foxboro claimed a big win at home over visiting Oliver Ames. Paige Curran had a team-high seven points, leading the charge with five goals and two assists. Mya Waryas (two assists), Mary Collins (assist), and Kate Collins each added three goals in the win for the Warriors. Audrey Campbell made four saves in net for Foxboro.

Mansfield, 4 @ King Philip, 18 – Final – Julia Marsden and Lily Brown each hit the 100-point plateau for their careers as King Philip rolled to a big win over Mansfield. Marsden and Brown each scored twice and had an assist to hit the milestone. Haley Izydorzcak scored six goals to pace the KP offense against the Hornets.

Milford, 17 @ Sharon, 12 – Final – Milford scored 11 goals in the opening half and added onto that lead in the second half to claim its third road win of the season. Aislinn Bennett continued her torrid start to the season, adding eight goals to pace the Scarlet Hawks offense. Fiona Jordan, Erin Michelson, Emily Croteau, and Carley Haley each added a pair of goals while Jill Araujo added one in the win. Freshman Esther Fernandes was called up from JV to make her varsity debut, getting the win in net. Anna Hertzel had a hat trick, while Athena Merck, Bailey Garte, and Keira Ledyard each scored twice for the Eagles. Lauren McLaughlin added one for Sharon and Tess Letendre made 10 saves in the loss.

Taunton, 0 @ Attleboro, 5 – Final – Kyle Neuendorf made the switch to first singles and earned a three-set win to highlight Attleboro’s sweep of visiting Taunton. Neuendorf dropped the first set but rallied to get the win, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Ethan Johnson also had a three-set win (6-4, 4-6, 6-1) at second singles while Arnov Sodhani added a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. Tyler Rocchio and Evan Sousa emerged with a hard-fought 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (10-8) win at first doubles for the Bombardiers, and Luke Hinton and Brady Rosen grabbed a 6-2, 6-3 win at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 4 – Final – A sweep of singles action plus one more win in doubles gave Canton a 4-1 win over visiting North Attleboro. Sophomore Max Kupferman earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at first singles, senior Suraj Ramanathan added a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles, and freshman Justin Ngan completed the singles sweep with a 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-8 win at third singles. The team of senior Kevin Moltenbrey and Max LaRose added a 6-3, 6-4 second doubles win. North Attleboro’s Griffin Rodden and Arnav Raghuvanshi prevailed with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at first doubles.

King Philip, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – King Philip won all five matches, all in straight sets to take down Milford on the road. Brady Jannell didn’t drop a set in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Jonathan Cohen earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles, and Jackson Hom secured a 6-1, 6-0 third singles victory. Adam Gougie and Connor Sachleben teamed up for a 6-1, 6-2 win at first doubles while Leo Manning and Arjun Rullo added a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles for KP.

Stoughton, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 4 – Final – Sophomore Nick Westerbeke won at first singles (6-2, 6-3) while Raphael Vache and Kylash Ganesh both won in straight sets as Oliver Ames defended home court against Stoughton. Senior Ella Lynch-Bartek rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 10-0 win at first singles while sophomore Maddie Fuscaldo didn’t drop a get in a 6-0, 6-0 second singles win. The senior tandem of Saharla Yusuf and Tina Lam prevailed 6-4, 6-2 at first doubles while sophomores Kyra Johnson and Presley Biller took a 6-2, 6-0 decision at second doubles. Taunton sophomore Ava Alves earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles.

Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro took all three singles matches to secure a 3-2 win over visiting Canton. Lauren Hunt was victorious at first singles (6-3, 6-1), Grace Noreck added a 6-1, 6-1 second singles win, and Kyna Shah prevailed 6-3, 6-4 at third singles. Canton won both doubles matches with Olivia Dunham and Grace Powers winning 6-3, 6-4 at first singles, and Olivia Maloney and Allie Wong adding a 6-3, 6-3 win at second doubles.

Foxboro, 3 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Foxboro won all three singles matches in straight sets to earn a key division win over rival Sharon. Athena Li continued to roll at first singles, securing a 6-0, 6-0 win while Hailey Kornbluth added a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles, and Analise Jia earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles for the Warriors.

Milford, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – The Warriors took two wins from both singles and doubles play to defend home court against visiting Milford. Sophomore Shea Mellman moved up to first singles and won 6-0, 6-1 while senior Sammie Taylor emerged from a hard-fought match at second singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win, a match that longtime head coach Bob Goldberg called Taylor’s best match in her three years of playing. The first doubles team of junior Lauren Casper and senior Resha Ajoy added a 6-0, 6-1 win while senior Palina Yakamovich and junior Priya Riar secured a 6-1, 6-1 second doubles victory. Milford’s Serena Borges claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames took all five matches, including three without dropping a set, to take down Stoughton on the road. Hannah Farber (first singles), Elizabeth O’Brien (third singles), and the team of Morgan Vasiliou and Caroline Peper (first doubles) all won 6-0, 6-0. Mia Corradini added a 6-4, 6-1 win at second singles for the Tigers, and Marina Mierzwinski and Olivia Querzoli secured a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – Canton took the lead with a run in the top of the sixth but North Attleboro responded with two runs in the bottom half and took the win over the Bulldogs. Knotted at 1-1, Jack Digirolamo laced an RBI double to bring in Hayden Rose to put the visitors ahead 2-1. Dillon Harding came on in relief and got three straight strikeouts to strand the runner in scoring position and North capitalized on that momentum in the bottom half. Brody Rosenberg drew a one-out walk and junior Jordan Paradis had a pinch-hit, two-out RBI double to bring in the tying run for the hosts. A two-out single from Aidan Conrad allowed Paradis to race home for the go-ahead run. Canton put two on in the top of the seventh but Harding (2IP, 0H, 0BB, 5K) got two more strikeouts to end the game. Canton struck first in the top of the first, taking advantage of a throwing error on a double steal. In the bottom of the third, Tyler Bannon had a lead off single, stole second, took third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sac fly from Tyler DeMattio. Bannon pitched well in his start, allowing 2 runs (0 earned) on two hits, striking out nine in 5 innings of work. For Canton, Owen Lane allowed one run on three hits and three walks, striking out five in three innings while Andy Butler had two runs allowed (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts.

Sharon, 3 @ Foxboro, 16 – Final (6 inn.) – Click here for a Photo Gallery from this game. Foxboro junior Sean O’Leary had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in four runs, and for the second straight game the Warriors used one big inning offensively to create a big lead they never relinquished. Sharon took a 2-1 lead into the third before Foxboro exploded for eight runs in the third, and tacked on six more in the top of the sixth as the Warriors were the road team against the visiting Eagles, who are without a field this year due to construction of the new high school. Jack Watts (RBI, run), Tyler Prescott (two RBI, three runs), Mike Marcucella (two RBI), and Louis Carangelo (RBI, run) each had two hits as Foxboro totaled 15 hits on the day. Freshman Nolan Gordon earned the win on the mound, tossing a six-inning complete game, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out four. Sharon’s Will Hippler, Ryan Baker (two hits), and Luke Meixel each had an RBI.

Franklin, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Franklin pushed across two runs in the top of the seventh inning without recording a hit and senior James Kuczmiec shut the door in the bottom half of the inning as the Panthers escaped with a win on the road. Mansfield plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth, with an RBI single from Anthony Sacchetti (to score Conner Zukowski, who had three hits on the day) and an RBI single from Connor Curtis (to score Sacchetti) to take a 2-1 lead into the final inning. In the top of the seventh, Eisig Chin drew a leadoff walk and took third after Ryan Gerety reached on an error. Jack Marino hit a ground ball and Chin was able to beat the throw home to tie the game, and Gerety took off for third. Chris Goode then drove in the winning run with a ground out to make it 3-2. Mansfield got the tying run to second in the bottom half before Kuczmiec (1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 K) induced a fly ball in foul territory for the third out. Franklin scored its first run in the top of the third on a passed ball and error. Alfred Mucciarone allowed two runs on seven hits (no walks), striking out six in 5.2 innings of work for Franklin. Mansfield’s Aaron Blinn allowed the one run (unearned) on four hits (no walks), striking out six in 5 innings.

Milford, 5 @ King Philip, 18 – Final (5 Inn.) – King Philip scored 10 runs between the first two innings and then had an eight-run third inning for its highest run total of the season in a win over Milford. The visiting Hawks staked a 2-0 lead after the top of the first but were plagued by errors throughout and KP pushed four across in the bottom half to take a lead it never relinquished. Matt Kelley had two hits and scored four runs in the win, Shawn Legere drove in four runs with three runs scored, Rudy Gately added two RBI and three rubs, Matt DiFiore drove in a pair, and Eli Reed had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored. Tommy McLeish got the win on the mound, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks, striking out four in 4.1 innings of work.

Oliver Ames, 8 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Down to their last three outs, the Tigers of Oliver Ames rallied for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to prevail with a win on the road over Stoughton. Each team scored a run in the first and Stoughton then took its first lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Jonah Ly hit into a fielder’s choice, allowing Joe McNulty to score, and Anthony Tilton followed with a two-out RBI single to score Ly for a 3-1 lead. With the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, Jake Waxman cleared the bases with a single to right field to put the Tigers ahead 4-3. Jack Richardson (three hits) added an RBI single, and the Tigers tacked on three more on a pair of outfield errors to go ahead 8-3. Richardson was charged all three runs on three hits and three walks, striking out five in five innings. Ben Whiteside (two Ks) and JoJo Gaultier (1H, 1K) each pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Junior Joseph Rush pitched well for Stoughton, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks in 6.1 innings.

Softball
Taunton, 16 @ Attleboro, 10 – Final

North Attleboro, 12 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Kelley Colleran struck out 16 with no walks and faced just two over the minimum, while also going 1-for-2 with three RBI and reaching base four times, as North rolled to a big win on the road. Zoey McDonough also had a big day at the plate with four hits and three RBI. Ally Levine added three hits, reached base five times, and scored three runs, Mandi Hanewich had three hits and three runs scored, Shaelyn Burns had a pair of hits and drove in three, and Maryellen Charette had a hit for North.

King Philip, 4 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham, 1 – Final – A three-run fifth inning and strong pitching from sophomore Jordan Bennett propelled King Philip to a key non-league win over Bridgewater-Raynham. Holding a 1-0 lead, the Warriors struck for three runs with two outs in the fifth to gain some separation. Meg Sherwood smacked a double to right to score Sarah Cullen, Ava Kelley followed with a double to right to bring Sherwood in, and Taylor Regan singled in Kelley to push the lead to 4-0. Kelley had another RBI double back in the third inning, also with two outs, to score Sherwood (double) to make it 1-0. BR struck with two outs in the seventh but Bennett (7IP, 7H, 1R, 0ER, 1BB, 2K) bounced back to get the final out and the win.

Mansfield, 11 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – The Hornets scored five runs in the top of the first and never looked back, compiling 11 hits as a team and winning for the second time in three days. Cat Kipp and Callie Lake started the game with singles and both came in to score on a base hit from Liv Madeira. With the bases loaded, Molly Kucharski brought in a run with a deep sac fly and Julia Kelly wrapped up the inning with a two-run single. Kelly tripled in the fourth and scored Mansfield’s sixth run on an Olivia DeTrolio single. After Franklin got its first run in the bottom of the fourth, the Hornets answered back with five runs in the fifth to put the game away. Madeira and Casey Moussette singled and Alanna Conley walked to load the bases. Jill Koppy plated a pair with a hit, Kucharski brought in two more with a hit, and Kelly drove in her third run of the day with a sac fly. The Panthers got two runs back in the seventh.

Foxboro, 11 vs. Quincy, 5 – Final – Foxboro erased a five-run deficit with a huge fifth inning to score a win over Quincy at Adams Field. The Warriors pushed across 10 runs in the fifth inning to turn a five-run deficit into a five-run cushion. Liam Mulkern (two RBI, two run) had three hits while Sean O’Leary (RBI) and Tyler Prescott (two RBI, run) each had two hits in the win. Ryan LeClair also drove in two runs while Kenny Mello and Louis Carangelo each had one RBI. After the Warriors took the lead, O’Leary came in and pitched three strikeout innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out seven.

King Philip, 7 vs. Nipmuc, 1 – Final – King Philip bounced back from its first loss of the season by taking care of business in a win over visiting Nipmuc. The Warriors plated three runs in the first, tacked on single runs in the second and fifth, and had two runs in the fourth inning. Shawn Legere and Dan Nineve (two RBI) each had singles in the first to drive take a 3-0 lead. Legere extended the lead with a second inning sac fly, and both Eli Reed and Brendan Senjac each had an RBI single in the fourth inning. Nick Viscusi had a strong outing on the mound, allowing just one run (unearned) on three hits and one walk, striking out five in five inning of work. Senior Quin Garstka tossed two shutout innings in relief, striking out four without allowing a hit or a walk.

Milford, 3 vs. Oxford, 2 – Final – Milford overcame an early two-run deficit, plating all three of its runs in the bottom of the fourth in a win over visiting Oxford. Oxford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before Milford sophomore starter Anthony LaPierre settled down, pitching five straight shutout innings after. He finished with four strikeouts, four walks, and two earned runs on six hits. In the fourth, Alex McColl singled, Tyler Lane walked, and Grant Scudo singled to load the bases for the Hawks. Ian Carter drew a walk to bring in the first run, and two at-bats later, Damien Carter laced a two-out, two-run single to left field to put Milford ahead.

Stoughton, 5 @ Brockton, 3 – Final – Trailing 3-0 after three innings, Stoughton rallied for two in the fourth and three more in the sixth to break into the win column by knocking off the Boxers. With two outs, Sean Farley reached on an error allowing both Jonah Ly and Anthony Tilton (walk) to come home to score to make it a one-run game. The Black Knights added three more runs with two outs in the top of the sixth. Farley again reached on an error as Brad Franey and Tilton came home to score, and three pitches later, Anthony Girlamo hit a single to score Farley for a 5-3 lead. Sophomore Hunter Malkin allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks, striking out four in 3.1 innings of work. Tilton was strong in relief, with just two hits and three walks allowed, striking out three in 3.2 scoreless innings.

Foxboro, 1 @ Silver Lake, 13 – Final

Sharon vs. Duxbury, 2:00

King Philip, 13 @ Milford, 1 – Final (5 inn.) – King Philip scored in each inning, including a five-fun fourth inning to blow it open for a win on the road over Milford. The Warriors had nine hits as a team, including a team-high three hits from Charlotte Raymond, who also had four RBI and three runs scored. KP also showed patience at the plate with eight walks on the day, two apiece from Meg Sherwood (run) and Taylor Regan (run). Sarah Cullen and Caitlyn Sencaj each added an RBI double in the win. Jordan Bennett and Emma Sheehan combined to allow just one run and strike out 11. Sophomore Maddie Burns had an RBI double for the Scarlet Hawks, scoring classmate Sarah Wengal (walk) in the second inning.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 8 @ Ashland, 3 – Final – Sam Carlino led the charge with six goals as Canton went on the road and picked up a win over Ashland. Jeffrey Chaput added two goals while Sean Connolly, Brendan Tourgee, and AJ Thomas recorded an assist. Pat Drury had a big day in net, making 17 saves in the win.

Foxboro, 12 vs. Falmouth, 8 – Final – Foxboro bounced back from a loss in the opening round of the Chowda Cup to take down Falmouth. The Warriors had a balanced attack with Tommy Sharkey (two assists) and Lincoln Moore (assist) leading the way with four goals apiece while Conor Noone scored twice and had one assist, and Jack Avery and Ian Foley both scored once. Adam Addeche made seven saves in net while Finn Stapleton and Matt Grace both played well defensively in front of the cage.

Franklin, 21 vs. Walpole, 6 – Final – After an even first quarter (2-2), Franklin dominated the second with eight goals and never looked back in a win over visiting Walpole. The Panthers will take on St. John’s on Saturday at Lexington. Jayden Consigli led the charge offensively wiht seven goals and two helpers while Jake Davis (five goals, two assists) and Tyler Sacchetti (three goals, four assists) each added seven points in the win.

Mansfield, 0 vs. Norwell, 13 – Final

North Attleboro, 17 @ Silver Lake, 16 – Final (2OT) – Silver Lake scored as time expired in regulation to force the extra period but North Attleboro recovered to get the win in double overtime. Connor Ruppert (four goals, two assists) took a pass from Clayton Billingkoff (two goals, three assists), split a double team and deposited the winner into the back of the net. Brady Backner added a hat trick, Luke Ward scored twice, and Luke Antonetti added one goal for the Rocketeers. JT Gallagher had 12 saves, including some key stops in overtime to keep North alive. Jared Vacher continued to impress from the X, winning 26 of 33 faceoffs.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Nipmuc, 12 – Final

Girls Lacrosse
King Philip, 8 vs. Medfield, 16 – Final – King Philip trailed by just three at halftime (6-3) but Medfield had a big second half to pull away for the win. Makenzie McDevitt had four goals for the Warriors while Lily Brown added a pair of goals. Head coach Kourtnie Wilder praised the defensive effort for Margo Riley and Sammy Cloutier.

Foxboro, 3 vs. Milton, 6 – Final – Foxboro scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning to make it a one run game, but Milton pulled away with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Sean O’Leary and Tyler Prescott (run) each had two hits for the Warriors, who had 10 total hits as a team. Louis Carangelo drove in two runs while Liam Mulkern added one RBI for Foxboro.

Franklin, 4 vs. Catholic Memorial, 2 – Final – Franklin scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to break open a tie game and tacked on a key insurance run an inning later to take down Catholic Memorial, snapping a three-game skid. Tied 1-1, Joe Tirrell drilled a solo home run to left on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth inning to put the Panthers back in front. Jack Marino followed with a one-out single, took third on an error, and scored on a single from Evan Raider to put the Panthers ahead 3-1. CM struck with two outs in the next inning to get back within a run but Tirrell reached on a dropped third strike, courtesy runner Luke Sidwell stole second and took third on a passed ball, and scored when Ryan Gerety reach on an error to make it 4-2. Jacob Jette tossed a complete game for the win, allowing two runs (none earned) on five hits and no walks, striking out six.

Oliver Ames, 4 vs. Dighton-Rehoboth, 3 – Final – After surrendering three runs in the top of the second inning, Oliver Ames pushed across four runs in the bottom half and held that lead the rest of the way in a non-league win over Dighton-Rehoboth. Nathan Carpentier (2-for-3) had an RBI single to plate Jake Waxman (leadoff single), Nick Ferrini drew a bases loaded walk to score Jack Muir (HBP), Jack Morley grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring Joe Cicchetti (HBP) home, and courtesy runner Brendan Connolly took home on a double steal to make it 4-3. Nick Clark had a strong outing on the mound, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks, striking out six in six innings of work. Ian Kelly allowed one hit but struck out one to record the save.

King Philip, 2 @ Taunton, 5 – Final – Taunton scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and Ryan MacDougall limited the Warriors to their lowest runs scored this season to emerge with the win in a battle of unbeatens. MacDougall tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out one in the win. KP struck first in the top of the first inning after an RBI single from Shawn Legere scored Travis Crawford (leadoff double). Taunton had an immediate response with three runs in the bottom half. Dawson Bryce (triple) scored on a single from MacDougall, and courtesy runner Brayden Cali came home on a sac fly from Colby DeCouta, and AJ Lewis smacked a two-out RBI double to put Taunton ahead 3-1. In the bottom of the fifth, Braden Sullivan had a two-run single to bring both Bryce (single) and MacDougall (single) in to extend the lead to 5-1. KP got one back in the top of the sixth on an RBI single from Brendan Sencaj. The Warriors brought the tying run to the plate in the top of the seventh but MacDougall induced a grounder for the final out.

Sharon, 8 @ Brookline, 3 – Final – Sharon saw a two-run lead vanish in the third inning but responded with two runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to break into the win column with a victory on the road over Brookline. Trailing 3-2 in the fourth, Jack Broughton hit a one-out RBI double to bring in the tying run and Palash Raina put the Eagles ahead with a sac fly to score Dylan Labbe (HBP). Dan Okstein tripled in the first run of the fifth, Ryan Baker followed with an RBI single, Broughton drew a bases loaded walk three at-bats later, and the Eagles tacked on another run with a passed ball. Sophomore Luke Meixel was strong on the mound, allowing three runs on four hits and four walked in 5.1 innings, striking out six for the win. Baker tossed 1.2 scoreless innings in relief.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Natick, 12 – Final (5 inn.) – Tyler DeMattio had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in two runs while Derek Maceda also chipped in with a pair of hits for the Rocketeers.

Franklin, 3 @ Walpole, 6 – Final

Mansfield, 3 vs. Bay Path, 1 – Final – Mansfield earned its first win of the season by handing Bay Path its first loss. Julia Kelly went the distance in the circle, allowing six hits, striking out five, and keeping Bay Path scoreless for the final six innings. The Hornets trailed 1-0 into the fourth. Liv Madeira singled and moved to third on a Casey Moussette base hit. Jill Koppy dropped down a well-placed bunt to bring in the tying run. It stayed 1-1 into the sixth thanks to solid defense from the Hornets. Alanna Conley threw out a runner at the plate in the fifth and Koppy caught a runner stealing second in the top of the sixth. In the bottom half of the inning, Mousette singled and pinch runner Reilley Slaney went from first-to-third on a single by Koppy. Pinch hitter Olivia Bovey came through with the big hit, singling in both runners to put the Hornets up 3-1.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ East Bridgewater, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames overcame an early deficit and Katie Melendy pitched a complete game, shutting out the Vikings over the final six innings for a win on the road. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead (Maddie Homer squeeze bunt to score Caitlin Miller) in the top of the first but the Vikings plated two in the bottom half for the lead. In the top of the third, OA surged back ahead with Miller scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Lexi Galsband. Miller came in to score a key insurance run on another wild pitch in the top of the fifth. Melendy allowed the two runs on just five hits and two walks, striking out eight in the win.

Stoughton, 8 vs. Norwood, 3 – Final – Alyssa Edwards continued to swing a hot bat for the Black Knights, going 3-for-3 with a homer, to lead Stoughton to the non-league win. Kerry Driscoll went the distance to pick up her sixth win, allowing six hits and striking out five. Edwards got Stoughton off to a good start with a two-run homer in the first, added an RBI triple, and then led off the sixth with a double. Camryn Whitman had an RBI triple and Driscoll, Sydney Menz, Melody Casna, Julie Powers, and Angie Berry all had hits in the win.

Boys Lacrosse
Sharon, 7 @ Dedham, 5 – Final – Brady Daylor continued his strong start to the season and the Eagles picked up a key non-league win on the road over Dedham. Daylor scored five goals while Ben Shocket (9-for-16 faceoffs) and Jace Nestler each scored once in the win.
