Milford, 9 @ Attleboro, 5 – FinalAttleboro held a pair of leads, up 4-2 and then again up 5-4 but Milford stormed back to get the win. Kevin Cambrola earned the win in relief for the Scarlet Hawks, shutting down the Bombardiers’ offense. Ryan Goncalves, Alex Macek and Luke Allegrezza each had two hits for Milford while the Hawks capitalized on five Attleboro errors and seven walks.

Canton, 0 @ Taunton, 15 – Final (6 inn.)Taunton scored five runs in the first inning to set the tone and tacked on runs in all other innings except one to beat Canton. Christian Simoes had an impressive day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBI to pace the Tigers’ offense. Jimmy Hoye was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two run scored, Joe Manchester was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Billy DaRosa had two hits and two RBI and Matt Machado had two hits and two runs scored. Sophomore Griffin Tomaszycki tossed a six inning shutout in his first career start, allowing six hits while recording six strikeouts.

Foxboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final (8 inn.)Oliver Ames rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the games to extra innings and won with an infield hit an inning later. Senior Cam Johnson came through with the tying hit, driving in Mitch Goulet (walk) and Kyle Gagliardi (single) to tie the game. In the bottom of the eighth, Alden Newman led off with a single, moved to second on a hit batter, moved to third on a sacrifice and beat the tag at home on an infield hit from Gagliardi.

Stoughton, 3 @ Franklin, 4 – FinalFranklin sophomore Jake Macchi delivered a double in the bottom of the sixth inning, knocking in classmate Alex Haba for the go-ahead run to break a 3-3 game and give the Panthers the lead. Bryan Woelfel earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning. Junior Jason Ulrickson earned the win following a tremendous outing, striking out 10 while allowing just four hits and two walks. Jake Lyons added a double and a run scored for Franklin. Ruben Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a walk, run scored an RBI and Evan Gibb had a two-run double to tie the game for Stoughton.

Sharon, 4 @ King Philip, 10 – FinalKing Philip’s offense erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to break open a tie game. With the Eagles and Warriors knotted at 4-4, King Philip’s bats came to life to plate the go-ahead run and tacked on five more. Chris Wing tossed a complete game, striking out six with three earned runs allowed. Wing also collected two hits at the plate while Stephen Murray went 3-for-3 and Will Weir went 2-for-2.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 5 – FinalNorth Attleboro got off to a good start wtih a run in the top of the first inning but Mansfield with three runs in the bottom half and never surrendered the lead. Big Red came back to tie the game in the top of the third, but Mansfield plated what turned out to be the game winning run in the bottom half. The Hornets tacked on an insurance run in the sixth. Kyle Moran (2-for-3, run) doubled in Colin Gibbons (two runs, RBI) for the game-winner. Zack Peterson also went 1-for-3 with two RBI for Mansfield. Nolan Dousa earned the win, striking out eight with three earned runs allowed.

Softball
Attleboro, 0 @ Milford, 12 – Final (5 inn.)Milford junior Emily Piergustavo continued to dominate at the plate, collecting three hits for the third straight game to pace the Hawks. Piergustavo was 3-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Kaitlyn DeCapua (1-for-2) had two RBI, two runs and a walk, Kelley Reichert also knocked in two runs, Maddy Bonvino (double) reached base three times and Shannon Cormier knocked a run in for Milford. Ali Atherton allowed just two hits while striking out six in a complete game effort to earn the win.

Taunton, 15 @ Canton, 0 – Final (5 inn.)Courtney Fisher retired nine consecutive hitters, including four on strike outs, as the Tigers defeated Canton. Jaylin Couto allowed two hits, but struck out six over her two innings in relief. Jaime Brown (triple, RBI), Liana Duarte (three RBI), and MacKenzie Handrahan (double, RBI) each had two hits, while Couto blasted a three-run home run to lead Taunton’s offensive attack.

Oliver Ames, 10 @ Foxboro, 5 – FinalKatie Mills, Victoria Ziner and Katie Abreu each had multiple hits and played a big role in Oliver Ames’ offensive outburst to beat Foxboro. Mills went 4-for-5 with three RBI scored, Ziner went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a home run and Abreu was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Tigers. Lizzie Miller added two hits and a run scored, Caroline Mahoney had two hits and Rachel Han went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kayla Georgeu earned the win, allowing seven hits while striking out five.

Franklin, 12 @ Stoughton, 2 – FinalFranklin junior Jackie Cherry retired the final six batters on strikes and notched a career-high 12 strikeouts to help the Panthers earn a win on the road. Offensively, Tara Hartnett had three RBI, Meg Caron had a pinch-hit two-run single and Alexx Niss went 2-for-4 with a triple and scored three runs. Taylor Levine and Alessandra Leffredo each drove in a run for the Black Knights and Nikki Coppola had a pair of hits.

King Philip, 12 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (5 inn.)King Philip junior Elise Pereira made her mark on both sides of the ball in the Warriors’ win. Pereira allowed just two hits in a complete game effort while striking out 10 batters. At the dish, she had two hits, including a three-run home run for KP. Meg Gorman (double) had three hits while Betsy Walsh and Sydney Phillips each had two hits apiece.

Mansfield, 4 @ North Attleboro, 7 – FinalNorth Attleboro freshman Bella Erti scattered seven hits, struck out five and walked two, while allowing no earned runs to earn the win for Big Red. At the plate, Erti had a solo home run and a double, finishing with two RBI. Sam Courtemanche was 3-for-3 while Meg Barlow and Kristina Murphy were both 2-for-3. Abby Gallagher added three RBI for the Rocketeers and Ashley Cangiano picked up an outfield assist, throwing a run out at home from center. Kara Bendanillo drove in the first Mansfield run with a bases loaded walk in the fourth and Megan Letendre singled in a second. The Hornets added two more in the fifth on an overthrow and a wild pitch. Letendre and Marissa Staffer each had two hits for Mansfield, which finished with eight as a team.

Franklin, 10 @ King Philip, 4 – FinalFranklin limited King Philip to just one goal in the first half and scored five goals in each frame to pick up a key division win. The Panthers raced out to a 5-1 lead after the first two quarters. Eric Civetti scored a game-high four goals and had one assist, Sam Arsenault scored once and had three helpers, Packie Watson notched two goals and one assist, Chase Tanner found the back of the net twice and Nitin Chaudhury had one goal and one assist for Franklin. FHS head coach Lou Verrochi praised the work of sophomore Pat Morrison, saying “he was a beast in close defense.” Connor O’Rourke made eight saves in net and sophomore Jacob Alexander won 13 of 18 faceoffs for Franklin.

James Johnston and Derek Wu won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Tyler DiPalma and Rahul Hosdurg notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles. Rahul Herur won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, Eli Brooks didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles and Dan Angermeier won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles.

King Philip, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalIt was another strong performance for the Eagles, who won all five matches in straight sets. Senior Griffin took a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first singles, junior Fred Bondar notched a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles and junior Andre Olivei recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win at third singles. The team of senior Alex Romantz and Alberto Olivei won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan and senior Sammy Kirshenbaum won 6-3, 6-3 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 3 @ North Attleboro, 2 – FinalMansfield edged out Big Red by sweeping all three singles matches. Senior Benny Lin won 7-5, 6-1 at first singles, sophomore Luke Nickerson took a 6-0, 6-4 decision at second singles and senior Gus Daganhardt prevailed with a 7-6, 6-1 win at third singles. North Attleboro won both doubles matches with senior Daniel Zhang and junior Ben Pfeffer taking first doubles 6-2, 6-2 and Andrew Harris and Vikram Senthilakumaran winning 7-5, 6-2 at second doubles.

Milford, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – FinalAll matches were competitive but Milford prevailed with a sweep, winning all five in straight sets. Julie Rabinowitz won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles, Allison Buckenmaier won 6-3, 7-5 at second singles and Caitlin Carafella won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. The team of Victoria Beyer and Daniella Arojo won 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles and the team of Ashlyn Oliveri and Angela Pillarella won 7-5, 6-1 at second doubles.

Sweeney won 6-0, 6-4 while Jillian Pagliuca won 6-3, 6-0 at second singles and Vanessa Rosa won 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 at third singles. Derby and Hogan won 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 while juniors Hailey Strier and Jillian McLaughlin won 6-3, 6-1 at second doubles. Hannah Sweeney didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and senior Anja Deric won 6-0, 6-2 at second singles. Stoughton senior Ally Swartz won 6-4, 6-0 at third singles for the Black Knights.

Sharon, 5 @ King Philip, 0 – FinalSharon’s three singles players didn’t lose a single game in a dominating performance on the road. Nupur Shukla (first singles), Emily Zhang (second singles) and Lulu Yuan (third singles) each won 6-0, 6-0. The team of Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-3, 6-1 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein teamed up for a 6-2, 6-1 victory at second doubles.

Christian Simoes went 2-for-3 for the Tigers with an RBI and a run scored while Matt Machado (run) and Tyler Medeiros (RBI) each went 1-for-3 for the Tigers.

Mansfield, 3 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon junior Max Tarlin impressed on the bump, tossing six innings with just four hits allowed to earn the win. Tarlin allowed two unearned tuns, walked just one and struck out six for the Eagles. Sharon scored once in the second and then exploded for four runs in the third inning. Aiden Arnold (RBI, run) and Jake Teven (run) each had two hits for the Eagles while Spencer Singer (RBI, run), Drew Naisuler (run), Ben Schwartz (RBI), Danny Emerman (two RBI) and Jake Marglous (run) each had one hit. Mansfield’s Zack Peterson (two RBI) and Kevin Dow (home run) each went 1-for-3 for the Hornets.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Milford, 1 – FinalOliver Ames sophomore Matt McCormack made an immediate impact in his varsity debut, coming on in relief to pick up the win for the Tigers. McCormack came on with the bases loaded and just one out, but escaped the jam with a pair of strikeouts. The sophomore threw 3.2 innings, collecting the win by allowing just one hit while striking out four. OA head coach Joe Abarr praised the defensive work of sophomore Chris Pearsons (six putouts, run) at third base. OA took the lead in the fourth inning when Kyle Gagliardi singled with two outs, stole second and came home on an outfield error. Milford tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Alex Coady. OA scored the winning run in the sixth, with Pearsons scoring on a passed ball. Alex Macek threw a complete game for Milford, allowing just four hits with seven strikeouts and two unearned runs allowed.

Softball
Foxboro, 1 @ Taunton, 12 – FinalTaunton scored in every inning and picked up a seventh win of the season. Courtney Fisher went the distance in the circle, striking out three. Jaime Brown, Liana Duarte, Kya Enos, and Hannah Aldrich each had three hits for the Tigers and Hailey Medeiros had two hits. Duarte drove in three runs and Medeiros and Aldrich each had two RBI.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 14 – FinalElise Pereira tossed six shutout innings for the Warriors, striking out 11 in the process. KP hit three homers and pounded out 13 hits on the day. Meghan Gorman went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI, Betsy Walsh went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI, and Paige Kuchy went 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Stoughton only managed three hits – a double by Jordan Lyons and singles from Gina Carafa and Alesandra Lofredo.

Sharon, 3 @ Mansfield, 9 – FinalThe Eagles held a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning before the Hornets rallied with nine runs to pick up the victory. Mady Bendanillo started the rally with a walk and Liz Mackin reached on an error. Sarah Cahill, who picked up the win an struck out nine, singled in the first run and Marissa Staffer followed with a single that plated two and tied the game. Caty DeMassi had an RBI on a fielder’s choice to give the Hornets the lead and Megan Letendre doubled home two runs. Mady Bendanillo came up for a second time in the inning and capped the scoring with a three-run homer.

Milford, 9 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalShannon Cormier collected a pair of hits and knocked in three runs to pace Milford to a win on the road. Cormier also had a stolen base while Emily Piergustavo went 3-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base. Kelley Reichert (1-for-3, home run) earned the win, tossing a complete game with no earned runs allowed. OA’s Katie Abreu went 2-for-3, Lexie Campbell was 2-for-4 and Victoria Ziner had a hit and scored a run for the Tigers.

The team of Emily Moor and Callie Hebert won 6-2, 6-0 at first doubles and Vanessa Rosa and Jordan Martin won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Lexi Nelson won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles.

Ferrara won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at second singles and Olivia Groebe and Emily Gordon battled for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at second doubles. OA’s first doubles team of Tori Wyman and Kristin Bloumbas notched the team’s first win with a 6-1, 6-3 decision at first doubles. Milford’s Julie Rabinowitz won 6-3, 8-6 at first singles and Caitlin Cafarella won 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at third singles for the Hawks.

Taunton, 3 vs. Quincy, 0 – FinalTaunton punched its ticket to the postseason for the first time since 2013 with a sweep of Quincy, 26-24, 25-19, 25-18. Lance Law had a team-high 12 kills as well as six digs, two blocks and an ace, David Fusiecki had nine kills, 10 digs and an ace and Nick Sorm chipped in with 11 digs, seven assists and four kills for the Tigers.

Sharon, 3 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final (8 inn.)Sharon overcame a two-run deficit, tying the game in the fourth inning and then taking the lead in the eighth inning. Sharon senior Jake Marglous had a two-run single in the top of the fourth to tie the game 2-2. In the top of the eighth, Danny Emerman (2-for-4) led off with a triple. Aiden Arnold brought the winning-run home. Sharon junior Max Tarlin had a strong day on the mound, allowing four hits without an earned run in seven innings of work. Tarlin struck out four as well. Brad Zongetti picked up the save with a scoreless eighth inning. Attleboro’s Eoin Kelleher also had a solid day on the mound, going seven innings with four strikeouts, four hits and one earned run.

Franklin, 4 vs. Walpole, 3 – Final (9 inn.)

King Philip, 11 vs. Walpole, 8 – FinalKing Philip’s offense came alive, scoring a season-high 11 runs and connecting on six home runs in a win over Walpole. Betsy Walsh had two of those home runs and three RBI total, pacing the Warriors’ offense. Jess Bonner, Brooke Taute and Sydney Phillips all had home runs for KP as well. With the game tied, Meghan Gorman belted a three-run home run to put KP ahead. Elise Pereira earned the victory, giving up two runs in 5.1 innings of work.

Milford, 9 @ Hopkinton, 4 – FinalHopkinton took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third but Milford tacked on two runs in each of the next four innings to hand the Hillers their first loss of the season. All nine players in the Hawks’ lineup hat at least one hit in the win, totaling 15 hits as a team. Katie Irwin went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, Emily Piergustavo went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, a two-run home run and three RBI total, Kelley Reichert had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI and Emily Hartman was 2-for-4 with a double. Ali Atherton earned the win, striking out six with seven hits allowed in 6.1 innings of work.

Oliver Ames, 9 vs. Silver Lake, 6 – FinalTied 3-3 at halftime, Oliver Ames’ offense exploded for six second half goals to split the season series with the Lakers. The Tigers had seven different players find the back of the net in the win, led by a hat trick from Colin Bourne. Liam Brown, Owen Gallagher, Jack Lang, Mike Young, Sam Stevens and Shane Kikelly each scored once for OA.

Franklin, 8 @ Walpole, 2 – FinalThe Panthers dominated the second half, scoring six goals while shutting out the Rebels. “The defense was overall very solid and played as a team,” said FHS head coach Kristen Igoe Guarino. Alex Field had three draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers while Gianna Cameron recorded 10 saves in net. Annie Walsh netted a hat trick on the offensive end while Kendall Reardon and Kelsey MacCallum each scored twice. Jordan Jette and Erin Walsh each had two assists.

Taunton, 3 vs. Norwood, 1 – FinalTaunton picked up its seventh win of the season with a 25-15, 25-12, 24-26, 25-23 win over the Mustangs. Lens Esquil paced the offense with 16 kills and two aces, David Fusiecki had nine kills, three aces and a block and Malik Charles had five kills, five aces and five blocks. Nate Grant set the offense up with 35 assists, five kills and an ace.

Attleboro, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – FinalJunior Tyler Dalton dazzled on the mound, tossing a complete game shutout to lead the Hornets. Dalton allowed just two hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out a season-high 11 batters. Mansfield scored single runs in the second, third and fifth innings, totaling seven hits as a team. Zach Peterson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Max Boen was 1-for-2 with a walk, RBI and a run scored. Attleboro’s Dylan Maskell also had a solid outing on the mound, throwing six innings with six strikeouts.

Sharon, 5 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final (9 inn.)Sharon’s offense was quiet for the first six innings but scored in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, eventually prevailing with a one-run victory over Foxboro. Trailing 1-0, the Eagles put up three runs in the top of the seventh to go ahead. Foxboro tied the game in the bottom half to send the game to extra innings. Both Sharon and Foxboro scored a run apiece in the eighth before Sharon scored the final run of the game in the top of the ninth. In the seventh, Aiden Arnold’s leadoff single preceded singles from Ben Stamm (3-for-4, RBI, run) and Jason Hertz. Jake Marglous tied it up with an RBI single. Spencer Singer connected on a two-run double to put the Eagles up 3-1. Foxboro got two back but Hertz threw the would-be winning run out at home to send the game to extras. Stamm knocked in Ben Schwartz in the top of the eighth but Foxboro knotted the game in the bottom half. In the top of the ninth, Arnold drew a lead off walk, stole second and scored on base hit from Jake Teven. Arnold earned the win in relief, and closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Sophomore Noah Kamens had a strong start on the mound, throwing six innings without allowing an earned run while striking out two. “All the kids contributed and the way they fought back in the seventh, eighth and finally the ninth shows incredible resiliency from this group,” said Sharon head coach Kee Arguimbau.

Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 5 – Final – Milford scored in five different innings to pick up its second straight win. The Scarlet Hawks scored single runs in the first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth against the Panthers. Aidan Wilde tossed a complete game without giving up an earned run, striking out seven and letting up just two hits. Ryan Goncalves went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases, Alex Coady had a home run and Anthony Arcudi was 1-for-3 with a double, a run and two stolen bases.

North Attleboro, 7 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – FinalNorth Attleboro’s offense got off to a strong start for the second straight game, scoring a pair of runs in each of the first and second innings, adding two more in the fourth and one more in the sixth inning. Senior Matt Iaconis didn’t allow an earned run in six innings of work, scattering six hits, walking just one batter and striking out three to earn the win. Junior Peter Cohen pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Rocketeers. Junior Nick Sinacola recorded four hits for Big Red, knocking in a pair of runs, Kyle McCarthy had two hits and two RBI and Iaconis also added a pair of hits. OA’s Chris Pearsons had a strong showing in relief, tossing five innings without surrendering an earned run.

Taunton, 7 vs. Durfee, 6 – Final – Taunton rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a walk-off win over non-league rival Durfee. The Tigers took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning but Durfee scored four in the top of the second and took the lead with two runs in the fourth. Billy Emerson tied the game in the seventh with a pinch hit single and Chris Gomes knocked in the game-winner with a single. In the first inning, Jacob Crawford (3-for-4) and Matt Machado scored on a double from Christian Simoes. Gomes also had a two-run double in the first inning. Senior Danny Keogh earned the win, tossing three scoreless innings in relief.

Softball
Sharon, 2 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final (8 inn.)Sharon used extra innings to pick up its first win of the season. Senior catcher Sam Marglous (3-for-5) singled in the top of the eighth to drive in the game-winning run. Clara Cook went the distance to pick up the win, striking out eight and allowing only four hits. Sophomore Alli Small had two hits and scored the opening run in the third inning on a single by classmate Rebecca Clayman. Lexi Buckner tied the game for Foxboro with a solo homer in the sixth and it stayed tied into the eighth.

Milford, 6 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalMilford senior Ali Atherton inherited a two-on, no out situation in a relief appearance and struck out three straight batters to help the Hawks escape danger in the sixth inning. Atherton picked up the save with two innings of work. Kelley Reichert earned the win, striking out five while allowing five hits in five innings of work. At the plate, Maggie Farrell was 2-for-4 with two doubles and Emily Hartman was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Milford head coach Steve DeVitto praised the defense play of shortstop Emily Piergustavo and third baseman Kaitlyn DeCapua.

King Philip, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 7 – Final

Oliver Ames, 1 @ North Attleboro, 13 – Final (6 inn.)North Attleboro’s offense has been clicking lately, scoring 46 runs over the past three games. Bella Erti, who threw a perfect game earlier this week, allowed only one hit and an unearned run, while striking out five. Meg Barlow went 4-for-4 with three RBI for North and Liz Morehouse and Erti both had a pair of hits in the win. For Oliver Ames, Victoria Ziner was 1-for-3 with a run scored and was knocked in by Caroline Mahoney (RBI).

Boys Lacrosse
Stoughton, 2 @ Canton, 14 – FinalCanton baptized its brand new turf with a big win over neighboring Stoughton. The Bulldogs raced out to a 8-1 lead at halftime with a big second quarter and capped its second half scoring with six goals in the third. Joey Vaughan scored the first goal on the new turf as Canton finished with ten different scorers. Sophomore Mike Shaw led with way with four goals and three assists while sophomore midfielder Matt Martin netted his first career goal.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 18 – Final

North Attleboro, 11 @ Plymouth North, 5 – FinalFor the second straight game, the Rocketeers dominated the second half and came away with a win on the road. North was up 4-3 at half but allowed just two goals in the second half and scored seven goals to beat Plymouth North. Junior Jason McNeany had a dominant day at the face off X, winning 10 of 14 draws while adding two goals and one assist. Tommy Lockavitch also stepped up with a big game defensively, recording four ground balls. Zach McGowan (three goals, four assists) had seven points to pace the offense while Tommy Lindstrom chipped in with two goals and one assist and Colin Young had a pair of helpers. Paul Yeomans added a goal and an assist, Nick Ward, Owen Costello and Nick Moore each had a goal and David James had an assist.

Girls Lacrosse
Franklin, 9 @ Bishop Feehan, 5 – FinalFranklin clamped down defensively, allowing just one goal in the second half to pull away from the Shamrocks. Franklin built a 6-4 lead by the break but won the second half 3-1. Annie Walsh had four goals, Erin Walsh had two goals and Jordan Jette recorded three assists to pace the offense. Freshman Gianna Cameron had five saves in net for the Panthers.

Sharon, 18 @ Taunton, 12 – FinalSharon had eight players score at least one goal, led by Alex Rabb with five and Christina Linehan added four. Sabrina Robbins added a hat trick for the Eagles and Anna Crosby had a pair of goals. Eighth grader Alana Tavares had four goals for the Tigers, while Abbey Kingman and Delaney Powell each had hat tricks.

Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 3 – FinalStoughton avenged a loss to the Bombariders from a week ago, claiming a 3-2 decision in a non-league contest. Stoughton senior Stephens Bontemps won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at first singles, sophomore Erik Anderson won 6-2, 6-4 at second singles and the team of seniors Jon Podesta and Conor Kavanaugh won 6-3, 6-1 at first doubles. Attleboro’s Eli Araujo won 7-5, 6-4 at third singles and Ronaldo Salgueso and Hans Estrada won 6-1, 0-6, 10-7 at second doubles.

Foxboro, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – FinalSharon senior Griffin Fein had his back against the wall, down to his last point trailing 9-3 in a 10 point tiebreaker. But the defending Hockomock League MVP rattled off eight straight points to win 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 at first singles. Sharon’s Fred Bondar won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles and Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-4, 6-4 at third singles. The team of senior Alex Romantz and freshman Alberto Olivei won 6-2, 6-1 at first doubles and senior Sammy Kirshenbaum and junior Ashwin Sreevatsa won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles for the Eagles.

King Philip, 2 vs. Bishop Feehan, 3 – FinalThe Warriors were edged out by the Shamrocks in a close match, dropping a close first singles match and then losing in a tiebreaker in doubles play. KP’s Blake Ginter won 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 10-6 at second singles and Martin Martous won 6-1, 6-2 at third singles.

Sharon, 4 @ Foxboro, 1 – FinalSharon picked up a key division win, winning at second and third singles and both double matches. Freshman Emily Zhang won 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) and junior Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Sharon’s Emily Wen and Sydney Gordon won 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Sophia Prinos won a marathon match at first singles, prevailing 6-7 (7-9), 6-0, 7-6 (7-4).

Milford, 0 @ Taunton, 3 – FinalTaunton bounced back from its first loss of the season with a sweep of Milford, pulling off a 25-20, 25-19, 28-26 victory. Nate Grant recorded 35 assists and had one kill to set up the offense. Lens Esquil had 13 kills, two aces and three blocks, David Fusiecki added seven kills, three aces and a block and Malik Charles notched seven kills and two blocks for the Tigers.

The Warriors took the lead with two runs in the second inning but didn’t breakthrough again until the top of the seventh. In the top of the second, Ryan Coulter singled, stole second and then scored on a base hit from Chris Wing. Wing came across to score on a double by Patrick Limerick. Wing got the win on the mound for the Warriors, tossing a complete game with six hits allowed. The senior struck out eight batters in the win. In the seventh inning, Will Weir tripled in Kyle Guenthner, Weir came across on a single from Ben Furfari, Collin Cooke knocked in Furfari with a base hit and Jack Webster and Cooke scored on a double from Wing. Attleboro’s Tyler McGovern tossed five solid innings for the Bombardiers with two runs allowed.

North Attleboro, 11 @ Canton, 2 – FinalNorth Attleboro scored a pair of runs in each of the second and third innings and really created separation with a five-run fifth inning. Big Red added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. Junior Nick Sinacola had a standout performance, both at the plate and on the mound for the Rockteers. He tossed six innings, scattering five hits with just one walk allowed while striking out eight. At the plate, Sinacola went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a triple, a run scored and three RBI. Kyle McCarthy added two hits, two runs and two RBI, John Brennan had a pair of hits and Zach DeMattio hit a solo home run.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 1 – FinalFranklin emerged from a pitcher’s duel with a 1-0 win, scoring the lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Franklin lefty Jason Ulrickson went the distance, tossing a complete game shutout with just four hits allowed. He walked just one batter while striking out three. Ulrickson also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3. Oliver Ames sophomore Tom Parker also had a strong performance, going five-plus innings with just three hits against and two walks. The sophomore struck out a pair while allowing just the one. Franklin senior Ryan Hodgkins scored the lone run of the game, coming home on a sacrifice fly to right field from Josh Macchi. The Panthers had a strong game defensively, led by sophomore shortstop Alex Haba, who had eight putouts.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 2 – FinalJunior Tyler Medeiros shined in his first start of the season, striking out four while allowing just three hits and one walk in six scoreless innings. Trevor Pietrzyk and Danny Keogh (save) combined for a scoreless seventh inning to close the game. Taunton junior Joe Manchester singled in the fourth inning and came around to score after an errant pickoff attempt and a misplay in the outfield. Taunton tacked on a second run in the fifth. Billy Emerson singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice by David Schofield, advanced to third on a single from Matt Machado and scored on a single to left field from junior Jacob Crawford. “Tyler threw the ball exceptionally well today,” said first year head coach Blair Bourque. “He threw strikes and let his defense make plays for him. After the first inning he really settled in. He was mixing his pitches up and hitting corners.” Mansfield’s Nolan Dousa struck out six in six innings of work, scattering six hits. Max Boen had two hits for Mansfield.

Milford, 0 @ Stoughton, 15 – Final (5 inn.)For the second time in three games, Stoughton’s offense has reached double figures in hits and runs scored. The Black Knights belted 16 hits while coming across to score 15 runs. Stoughton senior Justin Hutchinson (3-for-4 at the plate with a double, two runs and an RBI) got the win on the mound, tossing four shutout innings with just two hits and one walk allowed, all while striking out seven batters. Sophomore Evan Gibb (2-for-3, three RBI, run) tossed a scoreless 1-2-3 fifth inning with a pair of strikeouts. Also hitting well for the Black Knights were Ruben Gonzalez (3-for-4, three runs, RBI, three stolen bases), Jack Connelly (2-for-2, double, home run, three runs, three RBI), Pat Hagerty (2-for-3, triple, RBI, three runs), Nick Hardy (2-for-3, double, run, two RBI), Matt Hadley (triple) and Ryan Sullivan (run, RBI).

Canton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 21 – Final (5 inn.)Bella Erti was perfect through five innings to pick up the victory for North Attleboro, striking out five of the 15 hitters she faced. Olivia Capobianco went 4-for-5 and Liz Morehouse went 3-for-4 for North. Also for the Rocketeers, Meg Barlow, Amelia Murphy (3-for-3 on the day), and Stephanie Inglese each had two-run homers.

Franklin, 13 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – FinalFranklin turned a 2-0 deficit into a big lead, plating 10 runs in the fourth inning and then adding three more runs in the sixth inning. Ally Shea had a hit and knocked in two runs for the Panthers while Meg Caron and Olivia Haba each knocked in three runs. Sophomore Emily Valentino tossed a complete game, striking out one to earn her first varsity win.

Taunton, 5 @ Mansfield, 0 – FinalCourtney Fisher went the distance for the Tigers, tossing a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Hannah Aldrich went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a pair of runs for Taunton, while Jaime Brown had a pair of hits and Kya Enos drove in a pair of runs. Sarah Cahill made her first varsity start for the Hornets and went five innings, allowing just five hits.

Stoughton, 2 @ Milford, 10 – FinalThe Scarlet Hawks broke the game open with a five-run third inning, turning a one-run deficit into a lead. Jess Tomaso (3-for-4, double, six RBI) had a three-run homer run and three batters later, Kelley Reichert (2-for-4) had a two run single to put Milford up 5-1. Shannon Cormier drew three walks and came around to score each time for Milford. Reichert got the win in the circle, tossing a complete game with five strikeouts.

Canton, 6 @ Scituate, 12 – FinalThe Bulldogs finally played their first game of the season, but fell on the road to a tough Scituate team. Sophomore Mike Shaw led the Bulldogs with three goals and one assist while Kevin Albert added three asses. Ryan Lodge scored a pair of goals, Dan Cohen netted one tally and Nick Allen chipped in with two assists. Freshman Jack Connolly played with in goal in his first varsity game, making 12 saves.

Franklin, 7 vs. BC High, 8 – Final

King Philip, 8 @ Bishop Feehan, 7 – FinalKing Philip overcame a plethora of penalties to edge out Bishop Feehan. The Warriors were down a man for over 16 minutes in the game but a great defensive effort and a stellar performance from Paul Macrina in goal helped KP hang on. Macrina made 16 saves in net while first year head coach Jamie Stefanini said Michael Curtain, Connor Khung, Zach D’Amico (goal), Wes Bishop and Garrett Maxwell all played outstanding. John DeLuca scored a pair of goals for KP while Tim Watson had one goal and two assists, Colin DeVellis had one goal and one assist and Ben Palmer and Robert Tartagulla each scored once.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Silver Lake, 5 – FinalOliver Ames shut out Silver Lake in the fourth quarter and scored three unanswered goals but fell just shy of completing its comeback against the Lakers. Senior Liam Brown, juniors Owen Gallagher and Eric LeBlanc and freshman Shane Kikelly each scored once for OA.

Girls Lacrosse
Foxboro, 7 @ Walpole, 8 – FinalSophia DiCenso and Caroline Boudreau each scored hat tricks for the Warriors and Meghan Curran added one. Freshman goalie Sara Addeche made six saves, as Foxboro held the defending Div. 2 state champions scoreless in the second half.

North Attleboro, 8 @ Mansfield, 4 – FinalKatie Lindstrom, Erin Holley and Kenzie Rosenberg each scored two goals for the Rocketeers and goalie Kayla Moulin made 12 saves in the win.

Oliver Ames, 7 @ Whitman-Hanson, 9 – FinalEmalyn Duvall recorded a hat trick and Sofia Masciarelli found the back of the net twice but the Tigers fell on the road at Whitman-Hanson. OA goalie Ari Waldorf made 14 saves for the Tigers.

Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – FinalCole Ginter didn’t drop a game at first singles, the team of Ryan Gemelli and Sam Collela did the same at first doubles and KP won all five matches in straight sets to beat Attleboro. Ginter won 6-0, 6-0 at first while brother Blake Ginter won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles. Martin Martous won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles for KP. Gemelli and Collela won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles while Jake Webster and Marco DiStefano won 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles.

Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – FinalNorth Attleboro dominated in both doubles matches and took wins at second and third singles to pick up a win over Canton. Senior Barsomo Nuay win 6-2, 6-3 at second singles and junior Alex Rinaldi won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. The team of senior Daniel Zhang and junior Ben Pfeffer won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and senior Andrew Harris and Vikram Senthilakumaran won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles. Canton junior Jake Wolicki won 6-1, 6-4 at first singles for the Bulldogs’ lone win.

Franklin, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – FinalFranklin’s Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier both made their varsity debuts, teaming up at second doubles and won in straight sets without losing a single game. The pair won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles while the team of James Johnston and Derek Wu won by the same score at first doubles. Rahul Herur won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles, Eli Brooks won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles and Rohan Herur won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – FinalFranklin junior Hailey Strier rallied back after dropping the first set, winning the second set 7-5 and then winning the tiebreaker, 10-8, to secure the win for the Panthers. Franklin also got wins from senior Hannah Sweeney (6-0, 6-0 at first singles) and senior Anja Deric (6-1, 6-3 at second singles). Oliver Ames swept doubles play as Tori Wyman and Kristin Bloumbas won 6-2, 7-5 at first doubles and freshmen Tate Hadges and Maura Kiernan won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles.

Mansfield, 0 @ Taunton, 5 – Final – Taunton won all five matches in straight sets with Jillian Pagliuca taking the win at third singles without losing a game (6-0, 6-0). Olivia Sweeney won 6-4, 6-2 at first singles, Jordan Pagliuca won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles, Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason won 6-2, 6-4 at first doubles and Callie Herbert and Jordan Martin won 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles.

Milford, 3 vs. Nipmuc, 1 – FinalMilford picked up its third win of the season, beating Nipmuc 25-21, 25-20, 16-25, 25-19. Outside hitter Jack Winship had 18 kills and 18 digs, middle Joao Boaventura had 10 kills, 11 digs and four blocks and setter Danny Zwonik finished with 37 assists, a block and an ace.

Taunton, 3 vs. Durfee, 1 – FinalThe Tigers defended home court with a 25-20, 25-16, 14-25, 25-21 win over the Hilltoppers on Monday. Lens Esquil had eight kills, three blocks and an ace, Lance Law had seven kills, a block and an ace, Collin Hunter added five kills, two blocks and two aces and David Fusiecki had six digs, two blocks, two kills and an ace.

Senior Thomas McCormick iced the game for the Tigers, finding the back of the net in the final minutes of the match. Junior Cam Vella assisted on both of the goals while Jack Carroll earned the shutout.

Franklin, 2 @ Xaverian, 1 – Final Franklin rallied from a one goal deficit with a pair of second half goals to earn the win. Farley Asmath scored off an assist from Cam LeBlanc to tie the game while Kevin Hall scored the game winner for the Panthers.

Girls Soccer
Sharon, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final Francesca Calabraro scored four goals for the Tigers. Julia Roy had the other goal for Oliver Ames. Alex Rabb scored the opening goal of the game for the Eagles, who trailed 2-1 at halftime.

Volleyball

King Philip, 3 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – The Warriors of Foxboro gave the Warriors of King Philip a big test but KP emerged with a 25-19, 26-24, 28-26 win, one head coach Kristen Geuss described as “hard earned.” Sydney Phillips led KP’s attack with 13 kills while Emma Lopez chipped in six kills.

Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Attleboro scored once in the first half and once in the second half, while keeping the Black Knights off the board until the final minutes of the game to get the win. Kate LeBlanc put the Bombardiers in front with an unassisted goal in the first half. LeBlanc doubled Attleboro’s lead in the second half on assists from Eliza Sabilla and Ally Pierce. Jackie Evangelista scored her first varsity goal for Stoughton.

Mansfield, 1 @ Canton, 0 – Final Caitlin Whitman had the lone goal of the game for the Hornets, scoring an unassisted tally midway through the second half.

King Philip, 1 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – King Philip followed the game plan they set in place and executed across the field in a big 1-0 league win over Foxboro. Caitlin Donahue scored the lone goal of the game off of an assist from Liz Furfari.

Franklin, 5 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Senior Alex Sullivan and senior Brayden Downing found the back of the cage in the first half as the Panthers built a 2-0 lead by halftime. Junior Kate Morse had a pair of goals off of corners with assists coming from Maddie Hinkley (her second) and Cassi Ronan. Caroline Lounsbury capped the scoring off an assist from freshman Maeve Ledwith. Senior Sam Hertzberg made a pair of saves, including one on a breakaway, to earn her first win. Shannon Cormier scored Milford’s goal in the game.

Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – Taunton’s defense had a strong showing but couldn’t convert on the offensive end as North Attleboro picked up the win. Taunton received strong performances from Katie Van Zandt, Annie Tate, Liana Duarte, Bre Conlon, Jillian Pagliuca and Kya Enos.

Oliver Ames, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames continued to roll to start the season with a big win on the road. Sarah Stevens and Dimitra Efremidis each netted a pair of goals for the Tigers with Kendall Clifford, Rachel Stryke and Shannon Cahill each scoring once. Kayla Lozzi had two assists in the win while Liz Nuss and Efremidis each had one helper.

Oliver Ames, 148 @ Stoughton, 181 – Oliver Ames picked up its second win of the season, defeating Stoughton at Easton Country Club. Brady Allbritton led the Tigers with a 36 while Nick Lombardi and Eric LeBlanc each shot 37, and Mark Bissonette and Matt Kelley each carded a round of 38. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell shot a 43.

King Philip, 157 @ North Attleboro, 144 – Final – North Attleboro senior Robbie Congdon shot a one under par 34 at Heather Hills to lead the Red Rocketeers, who moved to 3-0 on the season.

Milford, 175 @ Foxboro, 182 – FinalRyan Tomaso shot 37 to lead Milford, while Matt Tierney lead Foxboro with a 41

Taunton, 175 @ Attleboro, 170 – Final – The Attleboro Bombardiers picked up their first win of the season in their home opener at Highland Country Club. Ethan Johnson led Attleboro, shooting a 40 while Kyle DelSignore and Corey McKenna each registered a round of 42. Taunton’s Mike Volkmann was the match medalist, shooting a 39.
