Player of the Week: Kerven Georges, Stoughton Football

Kerven Georges
By HockomockSports.com Staff

Stoughton senior Kerven Georges has been selected as the HockomockSports.com Player of the Week, presented by Morse Insurance, for Sept. 29 through Oct. 4. Georges is the fifth athlete chosen as Player of the Week for the 2025-26 school year.

Georges played a major role on both sides of the ball, as Stoughton pulled away for a big win at rival Sharon on Friday night. He scored on a pair of long runs, one each in the first and third quarters, and was an impact player on defense to help the Black Knights earn their first victory of the season.

“Kerven has worked hard to get back from an injury earlier in the year and Friday night was a good representation of what he brings to the table when he’s full go- speed, explosiveness and high football intelligence,” said Stoughton head coach Chris Evans. “If we are going to make noise in Davenport play it will mean that Kerven’s game continues to elevate.”

The Stoughton defense forced a punt on the opening series and two plays later Georges put the Black Knights in front. On a counter, Georges broke away nearly untouched for a 49-yard touchdown and an early lead. On the opening drive of the second half, Stoughton went back to the same play and Georges again sprung it for a score. This time it was a 43-yard touchdown. In total, he had seven carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and also had key blocks on two other touchdowns by the Black Knights. He was also a standout defensively with 10 tackles, including five tackles for loss, and had three pass breakups.
