Friday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 04/13/18

Baseball
Foxboro, 0 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 4 – Final – Foxboro’s Steve McLaughlin allowed just two runs on four hits and two walks in 4.1 innings of work but the Warriors’ offense was limited to just two hits. McLaughlin struck out four but Coyle struck for a run in the second and then another in the fifth. Coyle tacked on two more in the sixth inning. Joe Freitas and Joe Cavaleri each went 1-for-3 for Foxboro.

Mansfield, 2 @ Xaverian, 0 – Final – Mansfield’s Kevin Dow and Kyle Moran combined for a two-hit shutout to lead the Hornets to a big win on the road at Xaverian. Dow allowed just two hits, walking three, and struck out six in five innings of work while Moran fanned three batters in two innings of relief. Offensively, the Hornets loaded the bases in the fourth and senior Mike Arnold drew a walk to score Mike Hargadon. Hargadon (2-for-4) then gave Mansfield breathing room, knocking in Dan Saraceno with a single in the top of the seventh.

Milford, 0 @ Franklin, 4 – Final – Franklin senior James Leofanti dazzled in his season debut on the mound, throwing a no-hitter to lead the Panthers to a win over visiting Milford. Leofanti struck out eight while allowing just two walks to earn the win. Senior Colby Fitzgibbons made a terrific diving play in the sixth inning at second to help preserve the no-hitter. Offensively, Franklin scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the fifth inning. Junior Alex Haba went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, Scott Elliott walked twice and scored once, and JB Flores went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Milford sophomore Colby Pires kept the Panthers without a hit for four innings. He finished with three hits allowed, three earned runs, two strikeouts, and eight walks.

King Philip, 1 vs. Wellesley, 7 – Final

Oliver Ames, 5 @ New Bedford,0 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Chris Perron threw six scoreless innings with just one hit allowed as the Tigers picked up their first win of the season on the road at New Bedford. Perron allowed just one walk as well while striking out five to earn the win. Junior Matt McCormack went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while classmate Chris Pearsons was 2-for-3 with a run scored for OA.

Softball
Foxboro, 16 @ Westwood, 5 – Final – Foxboro senior Lexi Buckner drove in five runs as the Warriors’ offense continued its strong start to the season. Foxboro posted double-digit runs for the season straight game as Buckner and Hannah Davis (two RBI) each recorded two hits. Emma Rohan earned the win in the circle for Foxboro.

King Philip, 4 vs. Newton North, 8 – Final – King Philip put together a rally in the seventh inning, scoring one run and loading the bases but fell just short against highly ranked Newton North. Marjorie Guerrier and Brooke Taute paced KP’s offense with two hits apiece.

Mansfield, 6 vs. Holliston, 3 – Final – Sarah Cahill got the win, going the distance in the circle and scattering nine hits while striking out a pair of Panthers and walking none. The Hornets took the lead in the top of the first with three runs on four straight singles by Kara Bendanillo, Megan Letendre, Mady Bendanillo, and Felicity McMullin and never looked back. Mansfield had 10 hits total with both Bendanillo sisters and Letendre each recording a pair of hits. The Hornets also played solid defense with Kerran Holmes throwing a runner out at the plate after a fly ball and Kara Bendanillo turning an unassisted double play after a grounder to short.

Milford, 8 @ Grafton, 1 – Final – Milford allowed a run in the first inning of the game but took the lead for good with a five-run fifth inning to move to 3-0 on the season. Grafton, the defending D2 State Champions, scored after using a double and three Milford errors. Kelley Reichert (6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 7 K) buckled down and struck out the side to escape further damage. Reichert (RBI), Emily Piergustavo (double, run, RBI), Shannon Cormier (two doubles, two runs, RBI, stolen base), and Maddy Bonvino (home run, two RBI) each went 2-for-4 on the day for Milford.

Oliver Ames, 1 vs. Walpole, 13 – Final – Katie Abreu had two hits on the day, including a double, while Katie Millis and Caroline Mahoney (RBI double) each had one hit but the Tigers fell to visiting Walpole.

Taunton, 15 @ New Bedford, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – Sisters Kelsey and Alexa White combined for a one-hit shutout as Taunton picked up a win on the road at New Bedford. Kelsey White went three innings with two strikeouts and one hit while Alexa White struck out three in two innings. Offensively, Payton Ceglarski was 4-for-4 with two RBI and Kya Enos had three hits, including a home run, and seven RBI to pace the Tigers. Mackenzie Handrahan, Liana Duarte (RBI), Hannah Aldrich (two stolen bases) and Kelsey White (RBI, stolen base) all had two hits for Taunton while Paige Silvia launched a two-run home run.

Boys Lacrosse
King Philip, 5 @ North Attleboro, 12 – Final

Oliver Ames, 12 vs. Pembroke, 11 – Final (OT) – Oliver Ames overcame a five-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game and send it to overtime. Owen Gallagher (four goals and two assists) scored the game-winner in the extra period to lift the Tigers to a win. Eric LeBlanc, who recorded his 100th career point, added four goals and one assist and Shane Kilkelly and Sam Stevens each added two goals and one assist. OA head coach Ben Devlin noted that Shane Murphy had a very strong game defensively for the Tigers.

Taunton, 0 @ New Bedford, 9 – Final

Attleboro, 11 @ Milford, 7 – Final
Foxboro, 3 @ Notre Dame Academy, 17 – Final
Franklin, 8 @ Westwood, 13 – Final

King Philip, 13 vs. Framingham, 10 – Final – KP continued its unbeaten start to the season with a non-league win. Katie Crowther led the way again with five goals and an assist and Caroline Watson made 10 saves in the victory. Caroline Klim had a hat trick, while Jess Sullivan and Mackenzie Mazur each scored twice. Dana Truini chipped in with a goal and seven draw controls for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Walpole, 16 – Final
Oliver Ames, 12 @ Pembroke, 15 – Final

Sharon, 7 vs. Natick, 14 – Final – Emma Eberhardt led the way for the Eagles with four goals and four draw controls, while Sabrina Robbins added three goals and five draw controls. Sharon coach Shara Ginthwaine said, “We are looking ahead and will continue working hard to find our rhythm and to make everyone a threat on the field.”

Boys Tennis

Boys Volleyball
Taunton, 3 @ Quincy, 0 – Final – Taunton continued its strong start with a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-21, 25-18) on the road at Quincy. Lens Esquil landed 14 kills and added two blocks, Lance Law added 12 kills, a block, and an ace and Mile Charles finished with eight kills and two kills. Ricardo DaFonseca set the offense in motion with 45 assists, three kills, and an ance.

Baseball
Attleboro, 6 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – Attleboro senior James Weir shined on the mound, allowing just two hits with four strikeouts in a complete game effort. Weir earned the win with just one earned run allowed. Eoin Kelleher (double) and Dakota Kirby each had a pair of hits for the Bombardiers along with an RBI each. Jon Candiales added a pair of hits and three runs scored for Attleboro.

Foxboro, 3 @ Sharon, 8 – Final – Sharon junior Noah Kamens tossed a complete game without allowing an earned run to help the Eagles pick up their first win of the season. Kamens stuck out four while walking three in the win. Senior Drew Naisuler went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI while junior Jared Reef added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored.

Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 6 – Final – North Attleboro broke open a tie game with three runs in the top of the fourth and then escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth to earn a win over Canton. In his varsity debut, senior Ben Arrighi came on with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth and induced a ground ball to get out of the inning. Arrighi then escaped another bases loaded jam in the top of the seventh to earn the save (2.1 IP, 0 R). Jeff Gale went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a triple, and had an RBI single in the sixth inning to put Big Red up 6-2. Nick Sinacola added two hits while Peter Cohen earned the win on the mound. Canton’s Matt Casamento had a two-run home run in the third that tied the game 2-2.

Taunton, 3 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Mansfield took the lead in the bottom of the first inning but Taunton answered with three runs in the top of the second to earn the win. Jack Moynihan earned the win on the bump, scattering five hits with five strikeouts and just on unearned run allowed. Josh Lajoie didn’t allow a hit in two innings of relief, striking out four to earn the save. Offensively, Trevor Pietrzyk (2-for-4) knocked in one run and Jacob Crawford had two RBI. Moynihan also had a hit and scored a run. For Mansfield, Sam Nugent went 2-for-3 and Tyler Dalton had an RBI single. Sophomore John Carney struck out five without allowing a hit in 3.2 innings of relief.

Stoughton, 10 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Stoughton’s offense exploded for seven runs in the top of the eighth inning to pick up a victory on the road. Sophomore James Genest went 3-for-5 (double, run, RBI), while Ruben Gonzalez (double, run), Robbie Seaman (double, two runs), and George Currier (run, RBI, SB) each had two hits. Sophomore Michael Nazzaro chipped in with a two-run double.  Zak Paquette started for Stoughton and went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs (1 earned) on five hits with seven strikeouts. Junior Evan Gibb got the win pitching 2.2 scoreless innings allowing just one hit.

Softball
King Philip, 7 @ Attleboro, 1 – Final – King Philip’s Elise Pereira allowed just four singles and one run while striking out 12 batters to lead the Warriors to a win on the road. Brianna Lacy paced the offense with three hits, including a home run. Faith Turnese added two hits and Sydney Phillips had two RBI in the win.

North Attleboro, 20 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Bella Erti (three innings, one hit allowed) and Jaclyn Buckley (two innings and two hits allowed) combined for the shutout for North, which has scored at least 20 runs in each of its two games this season. Ashley Cangiano and Olivia Capobianco each went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI, while Abby Warren went 3-for-3 with two triples and six RBI. Erti also went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in a pair and Emily Nardelli had one RBI and three runs scored. North coach Bill Wallace said Andrea Miceli had a great game in the field.

Sharon, 7 @ Foxboro, 18 – Final – Foxboro seniors Hannah Davis and Mandy Ryan, and freshman Nicole Theriault each had three hits to pace the Warriors to a big win at home. Junior Emma Rohan recorded 10 strikeouts for the Warriors.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Franklin, 15 – Final (6 inn.) – Franklin scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back to secure its first win of the season. The Panthers tacked on four more in the second, five more in the fourth and a single run in the sixth inning. Kylie Bouzan and Meg Caron finished with two RBI apiece while Emily Valentino earned the win, striking out four while scattering six hits. For Oliver Ames, Marissa Guarino was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored, Kayla Georgeu added a double, and Katie Abreu scored a run.

Mansfield, 4 @ Taunton, 13 – Final – Taunton sophomore Jaylin Couto allowed just one earned run on four hits in four innings of work. Couto also struck out four while Kelsey White finished with three innings of no-hit ball with three strikeouts. McKenzie McAloon (3-4, two doubles, three RBI), Hanna Aldrich (2-3, two doubles, three RBI), Jaime Brown (2-3, double), Kya Enos (1-2, two RBI), and Kelsey White (triple, two RBI) paced the Tigers’ offense. Grace Benton went 2-for-3 on the game for the Hornets, recording half of the team’s hits on the day.

Milford, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Milford rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to escape Stoughton with a win. The Hawks put the bat on the ball but Stoughton played phenomenal defense to keep them off the board for six innings. In the top of the seventh, Emily Hartman (2-for-2, run) led off with a double, Shannon Cormier walked and Maddy Bonvino loaded the bases with a bunt single. Kelley Reichert gave Milford the lead with a two-run single and Sabrina Haarstick gave the Hawks insurance with another two-run single. Antonia Bonina had another strong day offensively, going 3-for-3 while Reichert earned the win, striking out seven with three hits allowed and just one unearned run. Stoughton took the lead when Nikki Coppola led off the bottom of the first with a walk, took second on an error and scored on a ground ball to short from Jordan Lyons. Gina Carafa tossed a complete game for Stoughton, allowing just six hits.

Boys Lacrosse
Franklin, 18 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final

Milford, 2 @ Canton, 14 – Final – Canton senior Charlie O’Connor made his season debut and didn’t lose a face off, scoring two goals as well, to help the Bulldogs pick up a win over visiting Milford. The Bulldogs had eight different players score a goal including junior Teddy MacDonald, who notched his first career goal. Freshman goalie Dylan Coyne had a shutout in net in the fourth quarter for Canton.

Stoughton, 1 @ Foxboro, 19 – Final – Louis Piccolo recorded six points while Andrew Whalen and Pete Conley each picked up five points as Foxboro improved to 4-0. Piccolo had three goals and three assists, Whalen scored once and had four assists, and Conley scored four times and chipped in with one helper.

Mansfield, 10 @ King Philip, 14 – Final

Oliver Ames, 7 @ North Attleboro, 17 – Final – North Attleboro senior Jason McNeany dominated the face off X (18-for-20) to help the Rocketeers pick up a win at home over OA. Sophomore Andy DeMattio scored five goals, Damien Curtis scored four goals, and McNeany added four points in the win. Nate D’Amico made eight saves in net for the Rocketeers. Eric LeBlanc had three goals for Oliver Ames while Shane Kilkelly found the back of the net twice.

Sharon, 14 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Brothers Brett and Drew Litner each finished with six points to pace the Eagles to a win on the road. Brett had five goals and one assist while Drew had one goal and five assists. Kadin Nestler added three goals for Sharon while Johnny Greenberg posted the shutout.

Girls Lacrosse
Taunton, 2 @ Sharon, 15 – Final – Sharon coach Shara Ginthwain called the Eagles’ win a “total team effort,” as eight different players scored goals. Sabrina Robbins had another strong overall game with three goals, three assists, and six ground balls, while Emma Eberhardt also finished with a hat trick and three assists and added 10 draw controls as well. Freshman Jenna Goldstein made it a hat trick of hat tricks for the Eagles and Cass Barbera chipped in with six ground balls. Taunton’s Hannah Moniz and Alana Tavares each scored once while Lorna Li made 11 saves in net.

Attleboro, 3 @ Franklin, 20 – Final – Halle Atkinson and Shannon D’Arcangelo each recorded three goals to pace the Panthers to a win at home. Alex Field scored her goal of the season while Victoria Quinn had a strong game in midfield with four draw controls. Grace MacCallum anchored the defense with three ground balls.

Canton, 7 @ Milford, 6 – Final – Maggie Connolly scored a first half hat trick to help the Bulldogs pull out their first win of the season and first under new coach Laurie Chabot.

Foxboro, 10 @ Norwell, 11 – Final

King Philip, 12 @ Mansfield, 8 – Final – KP made it three wins in three games to start the season with six different players finding the back of the net. Katie Crowther and Caroline Klim each scored three goals for the Warriors, while Alli Meehan added two goals and an assist, Dana Truini had a pair of goals, Jess Sullivan had a goal and an assist, and Olivia Tormey scored in the win. Caroline Watson made 13 saves in the win.

North Attleboro, 18 @ Oliver Ames, 10 – Final – For Oliver Ames, Ella Hogan and Olivia Piazza each netted three goals while Chloe Kilkelly and Sofia Masciarelli added two goals apiece.

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – King Philip lost a total of three games in singles play on its way to a sweep on the road at Attleboro. Marco DiStefano won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles, Nick Putney didn’t lose a game in a win at second singles and Jack Cannon took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at third singles. The team of Nick Ihley and Nate Ihley registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles and Zak Ryan and Jake Mager made their varsity debuts with a 6-2, 6-2 win at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Canton, 0 – Final – North Attleboro picked up its third win of the season, sweeping Canton on the road. Senior Richard Bermudez won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Christian Bermudez won with the same score at second singles. Freshman Jonah Manso won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Ben Pfeffer and Vikram Senthilkumaran won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Alex Pfeffer and Sam Gallagher teamed up for a 6-2, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Sharon, 5 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Sharon picked up its third win of the season with a sweep on the road against division foe Foxboro. Fred Bondar notched a 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles, Andre Olivei picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles and Danujan Thirumavalavan didn’t lose a game at third singles. Junior Max Brody and senior Russell Rapaport won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles while Sharon’s pairing of Ashwin Sreevatsa and Arie Chinnappan, won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Franklin earned a clean sweep, dropping just one game in the five matches. Rohan Herur and Saketh Saripalli each won 6-0, 6-0 at first and third singles, respectively. Liam Marr recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles for the Panthers. The team of Tyler DiPalma and Derek Wu (first doubles) and the pairing of Tony Calderone and Dan Angermeier (second doubles) each won 6-0, 6-0.

Mansfield @ Taunton, 3:45

Milford, 0 @ Stoughton, 5 – Final – Stoughton picked up its first win of the season, sweeping Milford. Freshman Waseem Sablon picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, junior Erik Anderson recorded a 7-5, 6-1 win at second singles and LJ Fernandiz won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles. Stoughton’s team of Hassan Khan and Andrew Chiang won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and the pairing of sophomores Brendon Buckley and Mike Veliotis won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles.

Girls Tennis
Taunton, 5 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – Taunton won in straight sets in all five matches to notch a victory on the road. Jillian Pagliuca won by default at first singles, senior Vanessa Rosa won 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, and freshman Jocelyn Pagliuca earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at third singles. The team of juniors McKenzie Lucie and Sam Martin won 6-3, 6-3 at first doubles for the Tigers and senior Amanda Pugh and junior Brianna Fevrier won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles.

Attleboro @ King Philip, 3:30

Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro picked up a pair of wins in both singles and both doubles to beat Canton. Senior Jordan Willis won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and senior Katie Ovoian won 6-1, 7-5 at second singles. The team of seniors Leah Marceau and Shurobhi Nandi won 6-0, 6-3 at first doubles while juniors Mae McLaughlin and Tara Nair emerged with a 6-3, 6-1 win at second doubles. Canton freshman Rachel Kupferman won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles.

Foxboro, 2 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – Sharon emerged with a 3-2 victory in a showdown with division rival Foxboro. The Eagles picked up wins at second singles and both doubles matches. Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles, Katie Merport and Emily Wen prevailed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein teamed up for a 6-2, 6-2 win at second doubles. Foxboro’s Sophia Prinos won 6-2, 7-5 at first singles and freshman Pam Nelson earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles.

Franklin, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 5 – Final – Oliver Ames defended its home court with a sweep of visiting Franklin. Sarah Leger won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Tate Hadges took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at second singles and Maura Kiernan didn’t lose a game in a win at third singles. The team of Kristin Bloumbas and Emily Yu recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win at first doubles while Rachel Stryke and Olivia Groebe prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Sam Burr allowed just four bases runners in six innings of work, striking out two to earn the win. The Tigers did the majority of their damage in the first inning, scoring four runs and adding one more in the fourth. Mitch Goulet went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Alden Newman had two hits, a stolen base and an RBI for OA.

Sharon, 2 @ North Quincy, 0 – Final (8 inn.)

Softball
Attleboro, 1 @ Taunton, 11 – Final – Taunton belted out 16 hits as a team and senior Courtney Fisher struck out a season-high 11 batters as the Tigers secured a win under the lights at Jack Tripp Field. Eighth grader Hannah Aldrich led the way with four RBI on two hits, including a triple, while Jaime Brown, Liana Duarte, Kya Enos and MacKenzie Handrahan all had two hits and an RBI in the win. Katie Van Zandt drove in two more runs for the Tigers. Fisher allowed just three hits in the win.

Foxboro, 1 @ King Philip, 10 – Final – With the win, KP clinched the outright Kelley-Rex division title. It is KP’s 10th league title in the past 11 seasons. Click here for photos from the game.

Franklin, 0 @ Bishop Feehan, 1 – Final – Franklin junior Jackie Cherry and sophomore Ally Shea both played well for the Panthers according to FHS coach Kate Fallon-Comeau.

Mansfield, 4 @ Holliston, 0 – Final – Sarah Cahill gave up only four hits to pick up the shutout. Mackenzie Burke drove in the first run in the first inning and Mady Bendanillo made it 2-0 scoring on a dropped third strike. In the seventh, Mansfield doubled its lead when Mady Bendanillo sinlged home her sister Kara and Megan Letendre scored on a groundout. Kara Bendanillo went 3-for-3 on the day to lead the Hornets offensively.

Oliver Ames, 6 vs. Walpole, 9 – Final – Oliver Ames jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning but were forced to bring around a sixth run in the fourth inning to knot the game 6-6. Walpole went on to score one run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to secure the win. Victora Ziner had a double and a run scored while Katie Abreu, Caroline Mahoney and Kayla Georgeu each knocked in a run and scored. Katie Mills added two RBI and Lexie Campbell plated Lizzie Miller for OA’s sixth run. Click here for photos from the game.

Stoughton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 6 – Final – North Attlebor freshman Bella Erti fanned 10 batters while allowing six hits to lead the Rocketeers to a win. Olivia Capobianco cleared the bases with a double, Liz Morehouse and Kristina Murphy had two hits apiece and Ashley Cangiano and Katherine Munley each scored a pair of runs. Karly Estremera, Bri Ferrandiz, Shannon Flaherty, Jordan Lyons, Nikki Coppola, and Haley Stone had hits for the Black Knights and head coach Tim Norton said Loffredo had a good game in the field as well.

Sharon, 0 @ Milford, 6 – Final (3 inn.) – Milford’s Jess Tomaso connected for a pair of singles and knocked in a run as Milford notched a win at home as the away team. Emily Piergustavo added a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Kate Irwin had two RBI. Ali Atherton struck out four in two innings of work.

Canton, 6 @ Abington, 9 – Final

Jack Dakin, Nick Ward, Jason McNeany (12 face off wins), Jack Connolly and Tommy Lindstrom each had two points, scoring once and recording an assist. Dan MacDonald scored once and had two assists while Damien Curtis, Owen Costello, Hunter Sarro, Zac Doucette and Ramssey Francois each scored once.

North Attleboro, 16 @ Norton, 5 – Final – North had 12 different goal scorers to beat Norton. Camille Pizarro was the top scorer for North with three goals.

Taunton, 13 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 1 – Final – Delaney Powell capped off the season for Taunton with five goals and an assist to lead the Tigers to a seventh win on the season. Abbey Kingman added two goals and two assists and Bre Conlon and Annie Tate also had a pair of goals apiece. Hannah Moniz and Rosemary McGrath also scored for Taunton.

Boys Tennis
King Philip, 3 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – King Philip’s second doubles pairing of Aidan Ignatius and Marco DiStefano rolled to a straight set win over Franklin just this past Friday. Trailing 1-4 in the second set against a new Franklin duo, the pair rallied and earned a 6-2, 6-4 win and clinching the Warriors at least a share of the Kelley-Rex title. It marks KP’s first league title since 2013. Cole Ginter (first singles, 6-4, 6-1) and Martin Matous (third singles, 6-2, 6-0) also picked up wins for KP. Franklin’s Eli Brooks won 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 at second singles and James Johnston and Derek Wu earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at first doubles.

Taunton, 4 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 1 – Final – Taunton recorded its second victory of the season over in-city rival Coyle. Sophomore Brett Beaulieu won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, junior Mike Briggs recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles and senior Eric Gwozdz prevailed 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 at third singles. The team of sophomores Dylan Kullas and Charlie Fiske capped the win with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at first doubles.

Girls Tennis
Milford, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – Final – Foxboro lost a total of three games in singles play and just five in doubles play in a clean sweep of the visiting Scarlet Hawks. Sophia Prinos (first singles) and Lexi Nelson (second singles) both won 6-0, 6-0 while Julia Muise took a 6-0, 6-3 decision at third singles. The team of Kayla Prag and Olivia Dantona won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and sophomore Kendall Milender and senior Jacey Nicklas notched a 6-4, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Franklin, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – King Philip didn’t drop a game at second or third singles and swept doubles play to earn the win and set up a winner-take-all situation on Wednesday against Taunton for the Kelley-Rex title. KP’s Erin Regnier (second) and Meghan Sepich (third) won 6-0, 6-0 in their respective singles matches. The team of Megan Davenport and Carly Adams won 6-2, 6-2 at first doubles and Corinne Palumbo and Lucy Barnard won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles. Franklin senior Hannah Sweeney earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles.

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Mansfield is tournament bound following a 4-1 win over Oliver Ames. The Hornets swept singles play with Paulina Martin earning a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Sarah Doyle taking a 6-2, 6-0 victory at second singles and Elizabeth Elsner notching a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at third singles. Chloe Peters and Tessa Garufi earned Mansfield’s fourth point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at first doubles. The team of Olivia Groebe and Kristin Bloumbas picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles for OA.

Sharon, 3 vs. Martha’s Vineyard, 2 – Final – Sharon scored an impressive win over two-time defending D3 State Champion Martha’s Vineyard to move to 17-0. The Eagles will look to complete a perfect regular season on Saturday against Milford. Nupur Shukla won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, Emily Zhang took a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles and Lulu Yuan prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at third singles as Sharon swept singles matches.

Taunton, 5 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 0 – Final – Taunton won all five matches in straight sets to sweep the season series with city rivals Coyle. Olivia Sweeney won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles, Jordan Pagliuca recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win at second singles and Jillian Pagliuca took a 6-1, 6-0 decision at third singles. The team of Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason continued their impressive campaign with a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles and Caroline Hebert and Jordan Martin prevailed 6-4, 6-0 at second doubles.

Milford, 9 @ Attleboro, 5 – Final – Attleboro held a pair of leads, up 4-2 and then again up 5-4 but Milford stormed back to get the win. Kevin Cambrola earned the win in relief for the Scarlet Hawks, shutting down the Bombardiers’ offense. Ryan Goncalves, Alex Macek and Luke Allegrezza each had two hits for Milford while the Hawks capitalized on five Attleboro errors and seven walks.

Canton, 0 @ Taunton, 15 – Final (6 inn.) – Taunton scored five runs in the first inning to set the tone and tacked on runs in all other innings except one to beat Canton. Christian Simoes had an impressive day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBI to pace the Tigers’ offense. Jimmy Hoye was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two run scored, Joe Manchester was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Billy DaRosa had two hits and two RBI and Matt Machado had two hits and two runs scored. Sophomore Griffin Tomaszycki tossed a six inning shutout in his first career start, allowing six hits while recording six strikeouts.

Foxboro, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final (8 inn.) – Oliver Ames rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the games to extra innings and won with an infield hit an inning later. Senior Cam Johnson came through with the tying hit, driving in Mitch Goulet (walk) and Kyle Gagliardi (single) to tie the game. In the bottom of the eighth, Alden Newman led off with a single, moved to second on a hit batter, moved to third on a sacrifice and beat the tag at home on an infield hit from Gagliardi.

Stoughton, 3 @ Franklin, 4 – Final – Franklin sophomore Jake Macchi delivered a double in the bottom of the sixth inning, knocking in classmate Alex Haba for the go-ahead run to break a 3-3 game and give the Panthers the lead. Bryan Woelfel earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning. Junior Jason Ulrickson earned the win following a tremendous outing, striking out 10 while allowing just four hits and two walks. Jake Lyons added a double and a run scored for Franklin. Ruben Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a walk, run scored an RBI and Evan Gibb had a two-run double to tie the game for Stoughton.

Sharon, 4 @ King Philip, 10 – Final – King Philip’s offense erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to break open a tie game. With the Eagles and Warriors knotted at 4-4, King Philip’s bats came to life to plate the go-ahead run and tacked on five more. Chris Wing tossed a complete game, striking out six with three earned runs allowed. Wing also collected two hits at the plate while Stephen Murray went 3-for-3 and Will Weir went 2-for-2.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Mansfield, 5 – Final – North Attleboro got off to a good start wtih a run in the top of the first inning but Mansfield with three runs in the bottom half and never surrendered the lead. Big Red came back to tie the game in the top of the third, but Mansfield plated what turned out to be the game winning run in the bottom half. The Hornets tacked on an insurance run in the sixth. Kyle Moran (2-for-3, run) doubled in Colin Gibbons (two runs, RBI) for the game-winner. Zack Peterson also went 1-for-3 with two RBI for Mansfield. Nolan Dousa earned the win, striking out eight with three earned runs allowed.

Softball
Attleboro, 0 @ Milford, 12 – Final (5 inn.) – Milford junior Emily Piergustavo continued to dominate at the plate, collecting three hits for the third straight game to pace the Hawks. Piergustavo was 3-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Kaitlyn DeCapua (1-for-2) had two RBI, two runs and a walk, Kelley Reichert also knocked in two runs, Maddy Bonvino (double) reached base three times and Shannon Cormier knocked a run in for Milford. Ali Atherton allowed just two hits while striking out six in a complete game effort to earn the win.

Taunton, 15 @ Canton, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – Courtney Fisher retired nine consecutive hitters, including four on strike outs, as the Tigers defeated Canton. Jaylin Couto allowed two hits, but struck out six over her two innings in relief. Jaime Brown (triple, RBI), Liana Duarte (three RBI), and MacKenzie Handrahan (double, RBI) each had two hits, while Couto blasted a three-run home run to lead Taunton’s offensive attack.

Oliver Ames, 10 @ Foxboro, 5 – Final – Katie Mills, Victoria Ziner and Katie Abreu each had multiple hits and played a big role in Oliver Ames’ offensive outburst to beat Foxboro. Mills went 4-for-5 with three RBI scored, Ziner went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a home run and Abreu was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Tigers. Lizzie Miller added two hits and a run scored, Caroline Mahoney had two hits and Rachel Han went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kayla Georgeu earned the win, allowing seven hits while striking out five.

Franklin, 12 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Franklin junior Jackie Cherry retired the final six batters on strikes and notched a career-high 12 strikeouts to help the Panthers earn a win on the road. Offensively, Tara Hartnett had three RBI, Meg Caron had a pinch-hit two-run single and Alexx Niss went 2-for-4 with a triple and scored three runs. Taylor Levine and Alessandra Leffredo each drove in a run for the Black Knights and Nikki Coppola had a pair of hits.

King Philip, 12 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – King Philip junior Elise Pereira made her mark on both sides of the ball in the Warriors’ win. Pereira allowed just two hits in a complete game effort while striking out 10 batters. At the dish, she had two hits, including a three-run home run for KP. Meg Gorman (double) had three hits while Betsy Walsh and Sydney Phillips each had two hits apiece.

Mansfield, 4 @ North Attleboro, 7 – Final – North Attleboro freshman Bella Erti scattered seven hits, struck out five and walked two, while allowing no earned runs to earn the win for Big Red. At the plate, Erti had a solo home run and a double, finishing with two RBI. Sam Courtemanche was 3-for-3 while Meg Barlow and Kristina Murphy were both 2-for-3. Abby Gallagher added three RBI for the Rocketeers and Ashley Cangiano picked up an outfield assist, throwing a run out at home from center. Kara Bendanillo drove in the first Mansfield run with a bases loaded walk in the fourth and Megan Letendre singled in a second. The Hornets added two more in the fifth on an overthrow and a wild pitch. Letendre and Marissa Staffer each had two hits for Mansfield, which finished with eight as a team.

Franklin, 10 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – Franklin limited King Philip to just one goal in the first half and scored five goals in each frame to pick up a key division win. The Panthers raced out to a 5-1 lead after the first two quarters. Eric Civetti scored a game-high four goals and had one assist, Sam Arsenault scored once and had three helpers, Packie Watson notched two goals and one assist, Chase Tanner found the back of the net twice and Nitin Chaudhury had one goal and one assist for Franklin. FHS head coach Lou Verrochi praised the work of sophomore Pat Morrison, saying “he was a beast in close defense.” Connor O’Rourke made eight saves in net and sophomore Jacob Alexander won 13 of 18 faceoffs for Franklin.

Hannah Sweeney didn’t lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and senior Anja Deric won 6-0, 6-2 at second singles. Foxboro, 2 @ Franklin, 4 – Final – Franklin cashed in for all four of its runs in the fourth inning to defeat Foxboro. Trailing the Warriors, Franklin senior Cam Lupien delivered with a two-run single to put the Panthers ahead. Ryan Hodgkins came through with an RBI single to tack on an insurance run for Franklin. Jake Noviello earned the win on the mound, going 6.2 innings with just three hits allowed and three walks. Bryan Woelfel came in with runners on first and second in the top of the seventh and got the final out for Franklin. Chad Bearce went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and knocked in both of Foxboro’s runs. Steve McLaughlin had a strong outing on the mound for Foxboro, throwing a complete game while Colin Thoener had a strong day at third base.

Sharon, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 9 – Final – Oliver Ames’ offense got off to a strong start with four runs in the first inning and Kayla Georgeu had one of her best outings of the season in the circle – and at the plate – to help the Tigers handle Sharon. Freshman Katie Abreu doubled in Lexie Campbell (two runs, steal), Caroline Mahoney (2-for-4, three RBI) knocked Abreu in with a double and Katie Mills (2-for-3, run) drove in Colleen Larson (two runs). Georgeu allowed six hits on the mound while striking out seven batters. Georgeu also knocked in a run in the first and had a home run in the third inning. Victoria Ziner (2-for-4, double, stolen base, run) and Campbell scored in the fourth inning of a single from Mahoney to cap OA’s scoring.

Aiden Arnold (RBI, run) and Jake Teven (run) each had two hits for the Eagles while Spencer Singer (RBI, run), Drew Naisuler (run), Ben Schwartz (RBI), Danny Emerman (two RBI) and Jake Marglous (run) each had one hit. Mansfield’s Zack Peterson (two RBI) and Kevin Dow (home run) each went 1-for-3 for the Hornets.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames sophomore Matt McCormack made an immediate impact in his varsity debut, coming on in relief to pick up the win for the Tigers. McCormack came on with the bases loaded and just one out, but escaped the jam with a pair of strikeouts. The sophomore threw 3.2 innings, collecting the win by allowing just one hit while striking out four. OA head coach Joe Abarr praised the defensive work of sophomore Chris Pearsons (six putouts, run) at third base. OA took the lead in the fourth inning when Kyle Gagliardi singled with two outs, stole second and came home on an outfield error. Milford tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Alex Coady. OA scored the winning run in the sixth, with Pearsons scoring on a passed ball. Alex Macek threw a complete game for Milford, allowing just four hits with seven strikeouts and two unearned runs allowed.

Softball
Foxboro, 1 @ Taunton, 12 – Final – Taunton scored in every inning and picked up a seventh win of the season. Courtney Fisher went the distance in the circle, striking out three. Jaime Brown, Liana Duarte, Kya Enos, and Hannah Aldrich each had three hits for the Tigers and Hailey Medeiros had two hits. Duarte drove in three runs and Medeiros and Aldrich each had two RBI.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 14 – Final – Elise Pereira tossed six shutout innings for the Warriors, striking out 11 in the process. KP hit three homers and pounded out 13 hits on the day. Meghan Gorman went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI, Betsy Walsh went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI, and Paige Kuchy went 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Stoughton only managed three hits – a double by Jordan Lyons and singles from Gina Carafa and Alesandra Lofredo.

Sharon, 3 @ Mansfield, 9 – Final – The Eagles held a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning before the Hornets rallied with nine runs to pick up the victory. Mady Bendanillo started the rally with a walk and Liz Mackin reached on an error. Sarah Cahill, who picked up the win an struck out nine, singled in the first run and Marissa Staffer followed with a single that plated two and tied the game. Caty DeMassi had an RBI on a fielder’s choice to give the Hornets the lead and Megan Letendre doubled home two runs. Mady Bendanillo came up for a second time in the inning and capped the scoring with a three-run homer.

Milford, 9 @ Oliver Ames, 1 – Final – Shannon Cormier collected a pair of hits and knocked in three runs to pace Milford to a win on the road. Cormier also had a stolen base while Emily Piergustavo went 3-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base. Kelley Reichert (1-for-3, home run) earned the win, tossing a complete game with no earned runs allowed. OA’s Katie Abreu went 2-for-3, Lexie Campbell was 2-for-4 and Victoria Ziner had a hit and scored a run for the Tigers.

Hannah Sternburg made 10 saves for Mansfield. Alana Tavares had a hat trick and Delaney Powell a pair of goals for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 0 @ King Philip, 5 – Final – King Philip dropped just a total of four games across five matches to earn a win over visiting Stoughton. Blake Ginter won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Martin Matous won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles and Marco DiStefano took a 6-0, 6-0 decision at third singles. The team of Ryan Gemelli and Aidan Igantius won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Jake Webster and Tim Costanzo won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles.

Sharon, 5 @ Mansfield, 0 – Final – The Eagles won all five matches in straight sets and dropped just three games in doubles play to pick up a win on the road. Senior Griffin Fein won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, junior Fred Bondar won 6-4, 6-0 at second singles and junior Andre Olivei won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles. The team of senior Alex Romantz and freshman Alberto Olivei won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan and junior Ashwin Sreevatsa won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

Taunton, 4 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final – Taunton notched a key win on the road at Foxboro, losing just four games total in doubles play to beat the Warriors. Ashleigh Eason won at second singles, taking the first set 6-3 before Foxboro retired due to injury. Jillian Pagliuca won 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at third singles for the Tigers. The team of Emily Moor and Callie Hebert won 6-2, 6-0 at first doubles and Vanessa Rosa and Jordan Martin won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Lexi Nelson won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles.

Nupur Shukla won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Emily Zhang won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and Lulu Yuan won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Sophia Fein and Akhila Sanadi won 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles.

Oliver Ames, 3 @ Milford, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Claudia Ferrara battled through a three set thriller and its second doubles team rallied from an 0-5 deficit to help the Tigers prevail with a win at Milford. Ferrara won 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at second singles and Olivia Groebe and Emily Gordon battled for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at second doubles. OA’s first doubles team of Tori Wyman and Kristin Bloumbas notched the team’s first win with a 6-1, 6-3 decision at first doubles. Milford’s Julie Rabinowitz won 6-3, 8-6 at first singles and Caitlin Cafarella won 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at third singles for the Hawks.

Taunton, 3 vs. Quincy, 0 – Final – Taunton punched its ticket to the postseason for the first time since 2013 with a sweep of Quincy, 26-24, 25-19, 25-18. Lance Law had a team-high 12 kills as well as six digs, two blocks and an ace, David Fusiecki had nine kills, 10 digs and an ace and Nick Sorm chipped in with 11 digs, seven assists and four kills for the Tigers.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Attleboro, 3 – Final (9 inn.) – Attleboro’s Eoin Kelleher reached on an error to start the ninth scored the winning run at Mason Field when Rob Furtado draw a bases-loaded walk. Senior Dylan Maskell had a very strong outing for the Bombardiers, tossing eight innings with five hits allowed, no earned runs and five strikeouts. Kelleher pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win. Attleboro took the lead with two runs in the third but North clawed back with single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game.

Franklin, 12 @ Canton, 4 – Final – Franklin’s offense got going early, plating three runs in each the first and second innings to earn a win over the Bulldogs. Jason Ulrickson earned the win in four innings of work, striking out four with just one earned allowed. Ulrickson also knocked in a pair of runs to help the offense. Both Jake Lyons (three runs, RBI) and Ryan Hodgkins (two runs, two RBI) went 3-for-3 while Cam Benham had two RBI and Matt Foley chipped in with two hits and two runs scored.

Sharon, 3 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Milford senior Nate Irwin threw a complete game, scattering six hits along with one walk while fanning five batters to earn the win. The Scarlet Hawks scored single runs in the first and third and tacked on two more in the fourth. Sharon scored one run in each the first, fourth and sixth innings. Anthony Arcudi (1-for-3, two runs, RBI double), Ryan Goncalves (2-for-4, run) and Alex Coady (1-for-3, RBI double) paced Milford’s offense. Aiden Arnold went 2-for-3 with a double and Drew Naisuler was 2-for-3 with a run for Sharon.

Softball
North Attleboro, 13 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – North Attleboro utilized some small ball to pick up its sixth win of the season. Bella Erti struck out two, allowed six hits and walked one in five innings of work in the circle to earn the win for Big Red. Liz Morehouse had a pair of hits and knocked in four runs, Meg Barlow went 3-for-4 and both Andrea Miceli and Erti had two hits. Abby Gallagher and Sam Courtemanche both knocked in a pair of runs for the Rocketeers.

Canton, 0 @ Franklin, 9 – Final – Jackie Cherry and Emily Valentino combined for nine strikeouts in the shutout win over Canton. “It was a solid team win,” said head coach Kate Fallon-Comeau. “Everyone contributed and did their jobs.”

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Mansfield, 11 – Final – Mansfield pounded out 14 hits as a team and got run support for Sarah Cahill early on in a division win. The Hornets played two runs in the first inning, scoring off a single from Kara Bendanillo and a double from Megan Letendre. Mansfield added four runs in the second, capitalizing on singles from Kerran Holmes (3-for-4), Caty DeMassi (two hits) and Liz Mackin (two hits). Mady Bendanillo (two hits) hit a solo home run in the fourth. Sarah Bradley also had two hits for Mansfield. Cahill struck out two, and gave up four hits while earning the win. For Oliver Ames, Katie Abreu was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Victoria Ziner (eight putouts) was 1-for-3 with two runs and Marissa Guarino (1-for-1)
and Lexie Campbell each scored once.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 11 vs. Norton, 6 – Final – Alex Banner (two goals, three assists) notched a team-high five points while Zach Viau and Andrew Milliken (assist) each recorded a hat trick to pace Attleboro past Norton. Trevor Koppy made 12 saves in net while Matt Potter had nine ground balls.

Foxboro, 5 @ North Attleboro, 6 – Final – North Attleboro scored three goals in the fourth quarter and kept the Warriors off the board to complete the comeback win. The game was tied 2-2 at halftime before Foxboro seized the lead with third goals in the third quarter. However, Big Red scored three unanswered goals, starting with Nick Moore and Jason McNeany (assist). Senior Colin Young scored the game-winner with under three minutes to play. Jack Dakin added two goals, Zach McGowan scored once and had two assists and Owen Costello had one assist. Dan MacDonald made 13 saves in net and also had one assist.

Attleboro’s Anna Nelson recorded a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 win at third singles for the Bombardiers.

Whitman also anchored the 4×400 team that finished first. Senior Jordan Brill-Cass ran a PR in the 200M, clocking in a 26.3 while also participating on the winning 4×100 team. Sopohomores Val Buonora (800) and Maggie Riley (2 Mile) picked up wins as well.

Oliver Ames, 8 @ Attleboro, 6 – Final – It was a back and forth battle between the Tigers and Bombardiers, with Oliver Ames prevailing behind three runs in the seventh inning. The Tigers grabbed the lead with three runs in the top of the first but Attleboro cut into the deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Attleboro took a 4-3 lead in the fourth but OA grabbed a 5-4 advantage in the top of the fifth. The Bombardiers tied the game 5-5 in the bottom of the fifth and took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Oliver Ames took advantage of 10 walks on the day. Junior Matt Muir (2-for-5) drove in a pair of runs and the Tigers added an insurance run on a wild pitch to go up 8-6 in the top of the seventh. Cam Johnson was 2-for-3 with two RBI for OA while Alden Newman had a standout day behind the plate and went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Sophomore Chris Pearsons (RBI) picked up the win, coming on in relief in the sixth and didn’t give up a hit. Attleboro junior Jon Candiales (3-for-3) reached base four times and had an RBI double while sophomore Troy Van Vliet recorded a pair of hits for the Bombardiers.

Sharon, 3 @ Canton, 4 – Final – Canton struck for a pair of runs in the third and then again in the fourth, holding off a Sharon rally late to pick up its first win of the season. A trio of sophomores stepped up to lead the Bulldogs. Matt Pigeon had a two-run single to pace the offense. Paul Corcoran earned the win, tossing five scoreless innings while classmate Rob Sullivan earned the two-inning save. Sharon’s Spencer Singer had a three-run double in the sixth to bring the Eagles within one.

Foxboro, 2 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Milford senior Alex Macek had another strong outing on the mound for the Scarlet Hawks, going the distance without giving up an earned run. He scattered eight hits and struck out seven to earn the win. Offensively, he went 1-2 with a run scored. Milford scored all three runs in the third inning, junior Aidan Wilde going 2-for-3 with an RBI triple and Anthony Arcudi hitting 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Scarlet Hawks. Foxboro tacked on single runs in the sixth and in the seventh. Steve McLaughlin struck out five and allowed six hits in a complete game effort for the Warriors. Colin Thoener was 2-for-4 for Foxboro.

Franklin, 6 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Franklin’s offense picked right where it left off from Wednesday’s walk-off win over Walpole. The Panthers pounced for three runs in both the first and second innings to take a 6-0 lead. Mansfield tacked on single runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Franklin junior Jason Ulrickson was impressive on the mound, giving up just one earned run on seven hits and just one walk in a complete game effort. Ulrickson also struck out five and had two RBI and a run scored on the offensive end. Jake Lyons (two runs) and Tyler Gomes (RBI) each went 2-for-4 for Franklin while Ryan Hodgkins (1-for-2) had an RBI and two runs, Bryan Woelfel had a two RBI single and Cam Lupien was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Mansfield’s Matt Farragher had an RBI single for the Hornets.

Taunton, 6 @ King Philip, 4 – Final – Taunton overcame a four run deficit, scoring runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to earn a key division win over King Philip. The Warriors plated a pair of runs in the second and the fourth innings. The Tigers cut the deficit in half with two in the fifth and took the lead with three runs in the top of the sixth. Taunton added an insurance run in the top of the seventh. With the game tied 4-4, Taunton senior Billy Emerson (1-for-2, two RBI) knocked in the go-ahead run with a single. Taunton sophomore Jack Moynihan (2-for-4, run) earned the win, striking out two with four runs allowed in six innings of work. Senior Danny Keogh got the save with a scoreless seventh inning. Tyler Medeiros and Jacob Crawford each went 2-for-4 with an RBI while David Schofield went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. King Philip’s Kyle Guenthner was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Chris Wing went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Wing also struck out three in 5.2 innings of work, allowing three earned runs.

Stoughton, 7 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – Stoughton’s Luke Johnson got the offense going early and Ryan Sullivan had a solid outing on the mound as the Black Knights battled the Rocketeers for the top spot in the Davenport. Johnson (3-for-4) connected for a two-out two RBI single in the top of the first to put Stoughton ahead. Evan Gibb had two hits, Ruben Gonzalez hit a solo home run and Jack Connelly knocked a two-run shot over the fence. Sullivan allowed just one earned run in six innings of work, walking two, allowing four hits and striking out five. Gibb pitched a scoreless, no-hit seventh inning with two strikeouts.

Softball
Attleboro, 10 @ Oliver Ames, 8 – Final – Attleboro scored early and often, needed each run to take down the Tigers at Parkview Elementary. Big Blue pushed across five runs in the top of the first and added two more in the second to take a 7-1 lead. OA responded with four runs in the bottom of the second to cut Attleboro’s lead to 7-5. The Bombardiers never relinquished the lead and took a 10-8 decision. McKenzie Bergdoll went the distance in the circle for Attleboro, striking out seven and went 3-for-4 at the plate. Lead off hitter Jordyn Lako went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Julya Woyton hit 3-for-4 with a three-run triple with the bases loaded in the first inning. AHS coach Mark Homer said Kayla Battisti made several stops at third base, helping to thwart OA’s comeback attempts. Oliver Ames’ Victoria Ziner was perfect at the plate (4-for-4, three singles, double) with three runs scored for the Tigers. Lexie Campbell (1-for-3) and Katie Abreu (3-for-4, double) had two RBI each. Rachel Han and Caroline Mahoney also each knocked in a run for OA.

Canton, 4 @ Sharon, 9 – Final – Senior Sam Marglous provided the offense to help the Eagles pick up a second win of the season. Marglous went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Alli Small, Rebecca Clayman, and Clara Cook each had hits and Sharon coach Deb Parker added that Small also played a strong defensive game at shortstop.

Milford, 16 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final (6 inn.) – Milford and Foxboro traded runs in the third inning to make it 2-2 but Milford’s offense came to life, scoring three runs in the fourth and then exploding for 11 runs in the sixth. Emily Piergustavo (3-for-5, HR, two runs, four RBI) and Jess Tomaso (3-for-5, HR, double, three runs, three RBI) connected on back-to-back home runs to pace the Hawks’ offense. Kaitlyn DeCapua went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, Emily Hartman was 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, a double and two runs and Shannon Cormier was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Mansfield, 5 @ Franklin, 4 – Final (9 inn.) – Mady Bendanillo scored the game-winning run for Mansfield in the top of the ninth inning on a sacrifice fly by Mackenzie Burke. Bendanillo slid in just ahead of the tag to give the Hornets the lead. Franklin put two runners on in the bottom of the ninth, but Sarah Cahill got the final two outs to earn the complete game win. Mansfield took a two-run lead in the top of the seventh. Megan Letendre reached on an error and Bendanillo was hit by a pitch, followed by back-to-back RBI singles by Marissa Staffer and Kerran Holmes. Franklin rallied with two in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Kim Moulton (pinch hit) and Rachel Cousineau (3-for-4) had back to back singles. Olivia Haba tagged up for third and scored on an overthrow. Olivia DiGiacomo singled to score Cousineau.

King Philip, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – Taunton took the lead with a run in the bottom of the first, but King Philip responded with three in the top of the second and that was enough to pull out the win in a pivotal Kelley-Rex division game. Jess Bonner drove in one run and Elise Pereira had an RBI double and scored on a wild pitch, while Jenn Hutnyan allowed only one run on four hits to pick up the win for the Warriors. Courtney Fisher allowed two earned runs on three hits for the Tigers and Taunton coach Dave Lewry praised eighth grader Hannah Aldrich for a strong game defensively at shortstop. Aldrich had eight assists and three put-outs. MacKenzie Handrahan drove in the lone Taunton run.

North Attleboro, 14 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – North Attleboro freshman dazzled on the mound, striking out a career-high 14 batters, allowed just one hit and walked just two batters to help the Rocketeers blank Stoughton. Liz Morehouse paced Big Red’s offense, going 3-for-5 with five RBI. Olivia Capobianco and Andrea Miceli each had a pair of hits while Erti and Ashley Cangiano each scored a pair of runs.

Boys Lacrosse
Canton, 13 vs. Milton, 0 – Final – The Bulldogs picked up their fourth straight win, blanking Milton in a non-league clash at Canton High. Eight different players scored at least one goal, led by sophomore Mike Shaw’s four assists and one goal. CHS head coach Bill Bendell said his side got great defense from their poles: Michael Pigeon, Brendan Albert, Nick Mackay, Gabe Galeotos, Brian Ghostlaw, Jona Sutton, Michael Yong and Brian Albert. Freshman Jack Connolly (three quarters) and senior CJ Martin combined for the shutout in net.

Foxboro, 5 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Foxboro and Mansfield were tied after the first quarter (1-1) and tied at halftime (3-3). But Foxboro outscored the Hornets 2-1 in the third quarter and pitched a shutout in the fourth to edge Mansfield in the semifinals of the Chowda Cup. Andrew Whalen netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the third quarter. Bobby Yerardi, Brendan Tully and Sam Blake each scored once for Foxboro, who received 10 saves in net from goalie Jake Addeche. Foxboro head coach Matt Noone said Mike Collins and Lou Blake had strong games defensively for the Warriors. For Mansfield, Joe Cox had one goal and two assists while Cullen Murphy, Brett Kessler and Aidan Sacco each scored once. Sean Peters made 16 saves in net in front of a strong defensive effort led by Grant Milas and Josh London. Foxboro will play Catholic Memorial in the finals of the Chowda Cup on Saturday at Braintree.

Franklin, 10 vs. Walpole, 11 – Final (OT) – Franklin rallied from a 8-5 deficit at halftime to take a 9-8 lead in the second half. After Franklin was whistled for an interference call, the Rebels tied the game with 1:27 to go. Walpole netted the game-winner with 38 seconds left in overtime. Eric Civetti had four goals and four assist, Chase Tanner had four goals and Kyle McEniry had one goal and one assist. Connor O’Rourke made 17 saves in net for the Panthers while sophomore Jacob Alexander won 18 face offs.

Oliver Ames, 13 @ Pembroke, 14 – Final – Oliver Ames nearly overcame an eight goal deficit but fell just short on the road at Pembroke. The Titans jumped out to a 9-1 lead and held a 10-4 advantage at halftime. The Tigers won the second half 9-4 but came up just shy of tying the game. Liv Piazza scored five goals, Chloe Kilkelly scored four goals, Kendall Clifford and Sofia Masciarelli each had two goals for the Tigers.

Mansfield 16, vs. Holliston, 6 – Final – Maire Foley led the way for the Hornets with five goals and Ann Maher added a hat trick. Mansfield also got two goals apiece from Lauren Whitman, Kathryn Garvin, and Mairead Dunn and 10 saves from Hannah Sternburg.

Estrada and Sandoval picked up a 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 win while Shawn Gordon won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles and Jared Cooper won 6-4, 6-4 at third singles. Oliver Ames’ Nick Cavanaugh 6-3, 6-0 at second singles and Greg Mueller and Michael Souza won 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 at first doubles.

Canton, 0 @ Sharon, 5 – Final – Sharon dropped just one game in singles player and just two in doubles to get the sweep against Canton. Mansfield, 2 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin relied on its depth to pick up a win over Mansfield in a Kelley-Rex showdown. While Mansfield won at first and second singles, the Panthers claimed wins at third singles and both doubles matches. Freshman Rohan Herur won 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-2 at third singles, James Johnstone and Derek Wu won 6-2, 6-3 at first doubles and Tyler DiPalma and Rahul Hosdurg clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles. Mansfield’s Benny Lin won 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 at first singles and Luke Nickerson won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.

King Philip, 5 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – King Philip won all five matches in straight sets, dropping a total of six games on the road at Taunton. Cole Ginter won 6-0, 6-3 at first singles, Blake Ginter won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Marco DiStefano won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Ryan Gemelli and Sam Collela won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Aidan Ignatius and Sean Desrochers won 6-2, 6-0 at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 4 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro picked up wins at first and second singles as well as first and second doubles to beat Stoughton. Zac Pfeffer won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and Barsomo Nuay won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles for Big Red. Daniel Zhang and Ben Pfeffer won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Brendan Hurd and Keigan Beaugh won 6-1, 6-2 at second doubles. Stoughton’s Erik Anderson won 7-5, 6-2 at third singles.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Oliver Ames picked up a win on the road at Attleboro, winning all five matches in straight sets. Sarah Leger won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles, Mandi Miller won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles and Maura Kiernan won 6-0, 6-3 at third singles. Sharon, 4 @ Canton, 1 – Final – Sharon picked up the win on the road, notching two wins at singles and two wins at doubles. Nupur Shukla won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Rithika Neti won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles. The team of Sydney Gordon and Lauren Glass won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Sachi Bhasin and Makalia Cheung won 6-3, 6-3 at second doubles for the Eagles. Sharon forfeited the match at third singles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – The Warriors went on the road and picked up an impressive win, dropping a total of five games between the five matches. Sophia Prinos won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Lexi Nelson won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Julia Muise picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at third sinlges. Kayla Prag and Olivia Dantona won 6-2, 6-2 at first doubles and the team of Jacey Nicklas and Kendall Milender won 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles for Foxboro.

Franklin, 2 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Mansfield picked up a big division win against the visiting Panthers of Franklin, winning at second and third singles as well as first doubles. Junior Sarah Doyle won 6-3, 1-0 at second singles and sophomore Elizabeth Elsner won 6-1, 6-4 at third singles. The team of senior Chloe Peters and sophomore Tessa Garufi earned the third win for the Hornets, winning 6-2, 6-0 at first doubles. Franklin’s Hannah Sweeney won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles and the team of Jillian McCaugh and Hailey Stier won 0-6, 6-4, 6-1 at second doubles.

Attleboro, 1 vs. Bishop Feehan, 3 – Final – Attleboro senior Tyler McGovern allowed just two earned runs in six innings of work, but Feehan escaped with the win. McGovern struck out six. Matt Callahan went 3-for-3 with a stolen base and scored the Bombardiers’ lone run of the game.

Foxboro, 3 @ Dedham, 0 – Final – Senior Colin Thoener tossed a complete game shutout, earning the Warriors a key Division 3 win over Dedham. Theoner scattered six hits, walked three and finished with six strikeouts to earn the win. With the win, Foxboro qualifies for the postseason through the Sullivan Rule.

North Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 4 – Final

Mansfield, 4 vs. Braintree, 10 – Final – Mansfield got off to a good start with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the unbeaten, two-time defending Super 8 champions Braintree flexed its muscles with five runs in the second to take the lead and never look back. Max Boen went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while Kyle Moran, Anthony DeGirolamo and Cullen Anastasia each had an RBI. Aidan Cahill and Zack Peterson each went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Oliver Ames, 6 vs. Falmouth, 5 – Final – Falmouth scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead but Oliver Ames scored three runs in the bottom half to walk off with a the win. Senior Kyle Gagliardi had a two-run double to knock in the tying and game-winning runs for OA. Nick Zwerle went 2-for-2 with three runs scored in his first game back from injury while Cam Johnson went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Sam Burr was solid on the mound, allowing just two runs in six innings of work while striking out three.

Taunton, 4 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 2 – Final – Coyle took the lead in the top of the fourth, but Taunton responded with three runs in the bottom half to take the lead for good. Senior Jimmy Hoye (two runs) knocked in the tying run and Jacob Crawford and Jack Moynihan both drew walks to bring in Taunton’s second and third runs. The Tigers added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth. Junior Tyler Medeiros earned the win, allowing just two hits without issuing a walk in 5.1 innings of work. Danny Keogh earned the save with a 1-2-3 seventh inning.

King Philip, 0 vs. Newton North, 1 – Final

Oliver Ames, 4 vs. Coyle & Cassidy, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames picked up its first win of the season on the back of sophomore Kayla Georgeu, who allowed just three hits in a complete game effort. Georgeu struck out two with just one run allowed while Rachel Han provided strong defense with seven put outs. Freshman Katie Abreu went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and Caroline Mahoney went 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored to pace the offense. Junior Sarah Tetrault added an RBI and junior Lexie Campbell had a stolen base and a run scored for the Tigers.

Stoughton, 1 vs. Milton, 3 – Final – Shannon Flaherty threw five innings without allowing an earned run, but picked up the loss in the second game of the doubleheader. Jordan Lyons had a pair of hits for the Black Knight and scored their lone run.

Stoughton, 6 vs. Milton, 4 – Final – Gina Carafa struck out 16 for Stoughton and earned her fourth win of the season in the opener of a doubleheader with the Wildcats. Jordan Lyons went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, and two stolen bases.

Taunton, 5 @ Dighton-Rehoboth, 6 – Final – The Tigers rallied with three runs in the sixth inning to cut the D-R lead to one, but couldn’t avoid their first loss of the season. Courtney Fisher allowed two earned runs and struck out four for Taunton. Jaime Brown had three hits, including an RBI double in the sixth, and MacKenzie Handrahan had two hits and two RBI, both in the sixth.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 3 @ Bishop Feehan, 16 – Final

Canton, 13 @ Norwood, 3 – Final – Canton junior Charlie O’Connor was in control at the face off X and senior Michael Pigeon dominated at ground balls as the Bulldogs picked up a big win on the road. Senior Ryan Lodge had a team-high five goals and three assists to pace Canton offensively. Freshman Chris Lavoie netted his first career goal in the win and O’Connor notched two assists. Freshman Jack Connolly made seven saves in net for Canton.

Foxboro, 6 vs. Norwell, 5 – Final (OT) – Foxboro built a 3-0 lead through the first three quarters but Norwell stormed back to tie the game at 5-5 and send the game into overtime. Foxboro senior Colin Spinney scored his second goal of the game less than a minute into overtime to lift the Warriors. Brendan Tully and Bobby Yerardi also scored two goals apiece for Foxboro while Jake Addeche made 10 saves in net to keep the Clippers’ offense at bay.

Franklin, 18 vs. Westford Academy, 5 – Final – Junior attack Eric Civetti netted a team-high seven goals and had one assist as Franklin rolled past Westford Academy. Senior Packie Watson netted two goals and had three assists and Chase Tanner finished with four goals and one assist. Sophomore Jacob Alexander won 21 of 26 face offs and Connor O’Rourke made six saves in net.

North Attleboro, 4 @ King Philip, 5 – Final – King Philip built a 3-1 lead by halftime and held on for a narrow non-league win over North Attleboro. KP head coach Jamie Stefanini said John DeLuca (two assists) put forth great effort on both sides of the ball for KP. Tim Watson paced the Warriors’ offense with three goals and one assist. Paul Macrina made 11 saves in net for KP. For North, Tommy Lindstrom had two goals and one assist, Zack McGowan and Hunter Sarro each scored once and Jack Dakin, Nick Moore and Jason McNeany each had one assist. Tom Lockavitch had four ground balls and Dan MacDonald made 15 saves in net.

Mansfield, 12 vs. Braintree, 6 – Final – Mansfield junior Hunter Ferreira outscored the Wamps himself, netting seven goals with two assists to pace the Hornets. Danny DeGirolamo (assist) and Sam O’Connell each added two goals for the Hornets, who advance to the semifinal round of the Chowder Cup. Cullen Murphy added a goal and an assist for Mansfield. Grant Milas and Mick Debreuil played well defensively in front of Sean Powers (eight saves) in net.

Milford, 8 @ Stoughton, 9 – Final – Stoughton celebrated its first ever home varsity lacrosse game with the program’s first ever varsity win, edging out Milford in a non-league game. Seniors David Cellucci and Jon Lessa each found the back of the net three times to pace the Black Knights’ offense. Sean Doherty added two goals and AJ Scott netted one for Stoughton.

King Philip, 9 @ North Attleboro, 17 – Final – Mackenzie Rosenberg led the way for the Rocketeers with five goals and a pair of assists. Julia Dakin had a hat trick and Katie Lindstrom added three goals and an assist. Emily Schromm had seven draw controls for North.

Mansfield, 13 vs. Holliston, 12 – Final

Taunton, 6 @ Sharon, 20 – Final – Alex Rabb was the top scorer for the Eagles with four goals. Emma Eberhardt, Amanda Klayman, and Sabrina Robbins each had hat tricks in the win.

King Philip, 4 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final – King Philip came away with a clean sweep of singles play and also grabbed a win at second doubles in a non-league showdown with North. Cole Ginter won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Blake Ginter won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles and Martin Matous won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The team of Marco DiStefano and Aidan Ignatius won 6-2, 6-3 at second doubles. North Attleboro’s Daniel Zhang and Ben Pfeffer won 7-5, 7-5 at first doubles.
