Monday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 10/16/17

Today’s games are listed below.

Boys Soccer
Milford, 3 @ Canton, 4 – Final – Canton junior Paul Cocoran netted his second hat trick of the season, including a pair of goals in the second half that helped the Bulldogs build a three-goal lead. Milford opened the scoring when freshman Leo Coelho netted his first career goal but Canton responded with a pair of goals in a two-minute span. Corcoran tied the game in the 21st minute and Simon Cruz gave Canton the lead in the 22nd minute. Cocoran added goals in the 56th and 64th minutes to go up 4-1. Milford sophomore Jordan Borges made it a two-goal game in the 75th minute and sophomore Walisson de Oliveira brought the Hawks within one in the final minute.

King Philip, 5 vs. Bishop Feehan, 1 – Final – King Philip scored four goals in the second half to break a tie game and pick up two points at home. Tyler Mann put the Warriors up 1-0 on an unassisted tally in the ninth minute. Feehan tied the game midway through the first half. Mann completed his hat trick with a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half, making it 2-1 in the 44th minute on a feed from Anthony Bozza and 3-1 just two minutes later on a feed from Connor Mullins. Thomas Lugten scored a pair of goals in a five-minute span, with junior Justin Willson and freshman Evan McEvoy picking up assists.

Stoughton, 2 vs. Norwood, 1 – Final – Tyler Melo and Fabio Ponce de Leon each had a goal for the Black Knights to earn Stoughton its first win of the season.

Girls Soccer

Stoughton, 3 @ Norwood, 4 – Final – Chinazo Odunze scored a pair of goals and Mackenzie Manning had a goal and an assist for the Black Knights. Brigid Pearl and Nicole Weir also had assists in the loss.

Field Hockey
King Philip, 6 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – King Philip junior Alli Meehan recorded a hat trick to pace the Warriors on the road. Senior Christina Hathaway netted a pair of goals and Dana Truini scored once for King Philip.

Canton, 2 @ North Attleboro, 1 – Final

Sharon, 0 @ Foxboro, 9 – Final – Sophia DiCenso led the way for the Warriors with a hat trick. Jackie Brion, Molly Murphy, Lily Daly, Annie Murphy, Lindsey Morris, and Lily Behn also scored for Foxboro.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin junior Anna Jardine had a strong game in net, making nine saves, including a gutsy slide tackle and a beautiful diving save – both in the second half – to help the Panthers preserve the win. Juniors Cassi Ronan and Regan Paterson each scored once in the first half for Franklin. FHS head coach Lisa Cropper said junior Annie Walsh played an outstanding game, creating numerous offensive chances and stopping OA from mounting an attack. Oliver Ames goalie Caitlin Grant made eight saves in net.

Mansfield, 1 @ Taunton, 3 – Final – Senior Kya Enos netted a hat trick for the second straight game and junior goalie Emma Sheehan made 12 saves to help the Tigers earn an upset over visiting Taunton. Diana Brens had two assists while Liana Duarte had one helper in the win. THS coach Mike Fox praised the defensive play of Jillian Pagliuca, Jocelyn Pagliuca, and Kathryn Robinson.

Milford, 1 @ Stoughton, 2 – Final – Stoughton’s Haley Apotheker scored a pair of goals to help the Black Knights defend its home field and earn a win over visiting Milford.

Volleyball
Canton, 0 @ Milford, 3 – Final – Milford picked up a key division win at home, taking it 25-19, 25-18, 25-23. For Canton, Taylor Harris and Hannah Jerrier combined for 14 kills while head coach Pat Cawley praised the defensive play of Julia Minichiello.

Foxboro, 0 @ Stoughton, 3 – Final – Stoughton earned a dominant win in the first game but had to orchestrate a comeback to win a close second game. The Black Knights completed the sweep with a convincing third game win, 25-5, 26-24, 25-10. Val Whalen took control in the first set, rattling off 16 service points, including six aces. Sophomore Mykiah Simpson paced the offense with five kills in the opening set. Whalen finished 16 kills, 18 digs, and eight aces while junior Molly Turner added 21 assists and six aces. Seniors Vicky Ramos and Haley Stone played well defensively for the Knights.

Franklin, 3 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Franklin mounted a late comeback in the second half to help sweep the Tigers on the road. Junior Lauren McGrath (four aces) put the Franklin offense in motion with 30 assists while Meaghan Maguire had 10 kills and two blocks and Lauren Lockhart chipped in with eight kills. Sharon, 0 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro earned the sweep, defeating Sharon 25-14, 25-20, 25-12. Seniors Amelia Murphy (13 kills) and Kezie De La Cruz (nine kills) led the Rocketeers to the win.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip defended home court with a convincing 25-14, 25-11, 25-14 win. Sydney Phillips led the way with 15 kills while Michaela Palumbo added four kills. Julianna Rando (eight digs) and Elise Pereira (seven digs) paced the Warriors’ defensive effort.

Golf
Taunton, 179 @ Attleboro, 174 – Final – Attleboro’s Kyle DelSignore eached match medalst honors with a low-round of 39 and was the difference between the Bombardiers and Tigers. The two teams matched on cards two, three and four – meaning DelSignore’s five-stroke win on the top card was the difference.

Canton, 157 @ Mansfield, 173 – Final – Canton sophomore Chris Lavoie fired a 36 at Norton Country Club, earning match medalist honors for the first time and helping the Bulldogs stay unbeaten. Danny Powers added a 39 for the Bulldogs while Brendan Loomer led Manfield with a round of 40.

Milford, 191 @ Foxboro, 178 – Final

Stoughton, 174 @ Oliver Ames, 139 – Final – Oliver Ames senior Mark Bissonette birdied the first two holes of play, finishing with a low-round of 33 to earn medalist honors. Ryan McGarry and Eric LeBlanc added rounds of 35 while Matt Kelley fired a 36 at Pine Oaks.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 0 @ King Philip, 7 – Final – King Philip raced out to a 6-0 lead at halftime and never looked back, notching its fourth win of the season. Alli Meehan had four goals while Christina Hathaway recorded two assists. Claire Lawler, Nicole Connors and Caroline Klim each scored once for the Warriors.

North Attleboro, 1 @ Canton, 7 – Final – Maggie Malloy netted a hat trick and Andrea McNeil registered four points as Canton picked up a key division win at home over North Attleboro. McNeil scored once and added three assists.

Foxboro, 6 @ Sharon, 0 – Final

Taunton, 1 @ Mansfield, 1 – Final – Taunton took the lead seven minutes into the second half but Mansfield found the equalizer less than two minutes later to settle for a draw. Diana Brens put Taunton ahead on an assist from Liana Duarte while Kristina O’Connell tied the game with the assist going to Ann Maher. THS head coach Liz Hathaway said Brens, Duarte, Mabel Smith and Jillian Pagliuca had strong performances for the Tigers while Emma Sheehan totaled seven saves in net.

Stoughton, 3 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Milford’s Shannon Cormier scored twice and assisted on the game-winning goal to help the Hawks edge visiting Stoughton. The Hawks erased a pair of first half deficits and took a 3-2 lead into the break on Cormier’s second goal, assists by Kate Wimette. The Black Knights tied the game up at 3-3 but Cormier set up Danielle Fokas for the game-winner. Fokas also had an assist while Ashlyn Olivieri scored once on an assist from Bella Gonzalez. Alanna McCormick, Julia Russell and Jordan Lyons scored for Stoughton.

Golf
Mansfield @ Franklin, 3:00

Milford, 182 @ Sharon, 171 – Final – Sharon’s Corey Carter carded a match medalist round of 40 to lead the Eagles to a win over Milford. Zach Tammaro paced the Hawks with a round of 42.

Attleboro, 167 @ Stoughton, 186 – Final – Final – Kyle DelSignore earned match medalist honors for the Bombardiers, shooting a low-round of 38. Taron Mills added a 42 and Ethan Johnson shot 43. Stoughton’s Brendan Campbell carded a team-low round of 39.

Foxboro, 166 @ Canton, 155 – Final – Canton’s Danny Powers and Joey Vaughan shared match medalist honors for the second straight day, each carding a low round of 38 in the Bulldogs’ win. Jack Goyetch added a 39 for Canton while Noah Hicks and Matt Lathrop led Foxboro, each carding a round of 41.

Taunton, 276 @ Coyle & Cassidy, 292 – Final – Taunton’s Jack Patneuade shot a team-low round of 38 to lead the Tigers to a win over rival Coyle in a match that counted six cards. Jack Giebel shot a 42 and Spencer Andrews carded a round of 45 for Taunton.

Boys Soccer
Stoughton, 0 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final

Canton, 2 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Mansfield netted a pair of goals in each half in a win over visiting Canton. Senior Sam Hyland finished with a goal and three assists to pace the Hornets. Hyland opened the scoring 10 minutes into the match, taking a through ball from Luke Savoie. Five minutes later, Nick Wisnieski netted his first goal, finishing a throw from Hyland. Early in the second half, Wisnieski made it 3-0 off a cross from Hyland but Canton quickly made it a one-goal game. Junior Griffin Roach scored a pair of goals in a 10-minute span to make it 3-2 but Jared Gabrilowitz nodded home a throw from Hyland in the 79th minute to ice the game.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 1 – Final – King Philip found the game winner in the final five minutes for the second straight game. Tony Bozza played a 1-2 combination with senior Thomas Lugten to get in behind the defense and the junior calmly finished in the 78th minute to give the Warriors two points.

Milford, 1 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin netted a pair of second half goals to erase a one goal deficit to earn its first win of the 2017 season. Milford’s Andre Oliveira put the visitors ahead in the first half but Franklin drew level midway through the second half. Sophomore Jacob Cummings made it 1-1 before the Panthers found the winner in the final two minutes. Sophomore Sam Stowell buried a penalty kick for the game-winner. Milford head coach Brian Edwards said Lucas Caetano had a strong game for the Hawks at left back.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Taunton, 2 – Final – Taunton netted the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes to play but North Attleboro found an equalizer with just two minutes to play to earn a draw. The Tigers took the lead in the fourth minute when Francois Hennaux capitalized on a ball over the top and scored on a breakaway. North tied the game in the 60th minute when Gabe Pinhancos volleyed home a cross from Connor MacIver. The Tigers regained the lead when Liam Crowley buried a penalty kick but Pinhancos netted his second, again on a volley, on a cross from junior Joe Hilf.

Sharon, 0 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Oliver Ames scored twice late in the second half to earn two points against Sharon. After hitting the post twice, the Tigers converted when senior Matt Alvarado’s cross found classmate Brandin Osborne, who buried his chance in front. Just before the halftime whistle, Alvarado found Nathaniel Cardoza, who rocketed his shot off the crossbar and in from distance for OA’s second goal.

Attleboro, 2 @ Stoughton, 1 – Final – Click here for a recap of this game.

Mansfield, 5 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Cassidy McMahon scored a brace for the Hornets, including the eventual game-winner in the second half, to help the Hornets hold off Canton in what Mansfield coach Kevin Smith called “a great game.” Bryn Anderson opened the scoring for the Hornets and Emily Vigeant added a second off a free kick. Canton got one back before McMahon scored her first for a 3-1 halftime lead. The Bulldogs again cut the lead to one but McMahon’s second made it 4-2. With five minutes left, Canton made it a one-goal game, but Emma Oldow sealed the points with Mansfield’s fifth.

King Philip, 4 @ Foxboro, 2 – Final KP scored three goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to overcome a one-goal deficit and make it four wins in four games. Ally Stanton scored the opener for KP off an assist by Avery Snead. Foxboro took the lead before halftime as Jordyn Collins scored off a Lily Sykes assist and the returned the favor by assisting on a Sykes goal. Chloe Layne tied it four minutes into the second half off an Emma Corcoran pass and then assisted on a goal by Snead three minutes later to take the lead for good. Five minutes later, Makayla Griffin scored off an Abby Baker assist to wrap up the scoring.

Franklin, 1 @ Milford, 0 – Final – According to Milford coach Jay Mastaj, Brianna Braza, Rachel LeBlanc and Maddie Boyle played well on defense and Julianna France and Leeanne Kibbee had good games in what he called, “a strong team effort.”

Taunton, 0 @ North Attleboro, 4 – Final – North Attleboro’s offense clicked on Monday, creating 21 shots and 11 corners. Haley Guertin opened the scoring in the first half off an Emily Chiasson assist, then created a second goal for Leah Jette. Jette then set up Ashley Gaulin to make it 3-0 and Britta MacDonald closed out the scoring off an assist by Meghan Slaney. Rachel Labonte played well defensively to secure the clean sheet.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Sharon, 2 – Final – Jackie Mills scored a brace for the Tigers, while Briana Gibson and Abby Hodges each added a goal apiece. Ally Filipkowski scored on a header off a Bridget McManus pass and Sabrina Robbins scored her first varsity goal off an assist by Bella Berger. All six goals were scored in the final 25 minutes of the game.

Field Hockey
Attleboro, 7 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Attleboro’s Grace Mayer and Alex Compton each recorded a hat trick in the Bombardiers win on the road. Abigail Boudreau added the other goal for Attleboro while Katie Pelletier turned away eight shots for the shutout.

King Philip, 2 @ Canton, 0 – Final – King Philip finally broke through in the second half, netting a pair of goals to beat Canton on the road. The Warriors had a large advantage in shots in the game. Alli Meehan opened the scoring with 12 minutes left in the game and then Christina Hathaway added an insurance goal, finishing a corner on an assist from Dana Truini with less than three minutes to play. Canton senior goalie Riley Brown made 25 saves, including denying a penalty stroke.

Mansfield, 1 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Mansfield’s Tori Farrington scored the lone goal of the game, finding the back of the net just before the midway point of the second half to help the Hornets earn a win on the road. Mansfield’s Kayla Hunter made four saves in the second half to preserve the shutout. Stoughton’s Gianna Barbosa made 15 saves in net for the Black Knights.

Taunton, 6 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Taunton senior Kya Enos found the back of the four times and registered one assist to lead the Tigers to a big win on the road. Enos scored Taunton’s first two goals, the latter on an assist from freshman Alana Tavares. Diana Brens made it 3-0 on a feed from Enos and then Enos scored two straight goals, the first from Jillian Pagliuca. Lauren Torres capped the scoring with an assist from Mabel Smith. Junior Emma Sheehan made seven saves in the win. THS head coach Liz Hathaway said Smith, Tavares and Kathryn Robinson had strong games for the Tigers.

Oliver Ames, 2 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – Kayla Lozzi and Liz Nuss each scored for Oliver Ames while Caitlin Grant made nine saves to help the Tigers earn a tie on the road.

Volleyball
Stoughton, 3 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Stoughton senior captain Val Whalen combined with juniors Molly Turner and Hanna Holden for 37 service points. SHS coach Erica Batchelder said solid defense from the entire Black Knight squad led the team to the win.

Canton, 0 @ Mansfield, 3 – Final – Mansfield recorded a sweep over visiting, earning a key win in the second set to get the win (25-18, 29-27, 25-16). For Mansfield, Julia Harrison had 14 kills and eight digs, Lexi Gardner had 18 service points, Meg Hill added 11 kills and 12 service points and Jolie O’Neil had nine digs. CHS head coach Pat Cawley said sophomore Taylor Harris had a good all around game with great serving including four aces, three blocks, and four kills. Hannah Jerrier added four kills and five blocks for the Bulldogs.

Foxboro, 0 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip earned a 25-10, 25-17, 25-6 sweep over the visiting Warriors of Foxboro. Rachel Veilleux led the way with 21 assists and 15 service points, Sydney Phillips added 11 kills and three digs, Michael Palumbo finished with five kills and five aces and Elise Pereira chipped in with four digs and three aces.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final – North Attleboro picked up a win on the road with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-10, 25-13 decision over Taunton. Kezia De La Cruz recorded a team-high 18 kills and added six aces for the Rocketeers while Amelia Murphy added seven kills and four aces.

Sharon, 3 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Sharon pulled out its second straight five set win, this time on the road at Oliver Ames (14-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-6). Oliver Ames’ Sadie Homer had 19 digs and two aces, sophomore Ally Kemp had 33 assists and three aces, senior Katie Flynn had 10 kills, senior Jackie Kandar added eight kills and three assisted blocks and sophomore Jordyn Vella chipped in with seven blocks and four kills.

Golf
Canton, 155 @ Milford, 166 – Final – Canton’s Jack Goyetch earned match medalist honors, carding a low-round of 37 as the Bulldogs opened the season with a win. Joey Vaughan shot a 38 for Canton. Milford’s Riley Lynch had a team-low round of 39.

Monday’s Schedule & Scoreboard – 05/22/17

Today’s games are listed below.

Baseball
Attleboro, 1 @ Taunton, 9 – Final – Taunton grabbed the lead with two runs in the third inning and then broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning and a three-run sixth inning. Tyler Medeiros and William DaRosa each knocked in three runs to pace the Tigers offense while Medeiros earned the win on the mound. Medeiros pitched six innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while fanning nine batters. Chris Gomes added three hits and three runs and Jacob Crawford had two hits and three runs scored for the Tigers.

Canton, 0 @ Stoughton, 7 – Final – Stoughton senior Ryan Sullivan pitched five scoreless innings to earn his third win of the season. Justin Hutchinson went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Matt Gallagher and Jack Connelly each pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Black Knights.

Foxboro, 2 @ North Attleboro, 5 – Final – North Attleboro plated three runs in the third inning and added two more in the fourth inning to beat Foxboro. Junior Zach DeMattio had a big day at the plate, knocking in four runs and scoring the fifth. In the third, Nick Sinacola (infield hit) and Nate Pearce (single) reached before DeMattio brought both home with a double. DeMattio scored the third run when John Brennan drew a bases loaded walk. In the fourth, Sinacola had another single and DeMattio launched a two-run home run. Sinacola earned the win on the mound, striking out five in four innings of work with just two hits allowed. Peter Cohen allowed one run on two hits and two walks in three innings of relief.

Franklin, 5 @ King Philip, 0 – Final – Franklin junior Jake Noviello tossed a complete game shutout, striking out three while scattering five hits and three walks to earn the win. Offensively, Cam Lupien had a team-high three hits and added an RBI while both Tyler Gomes and Alex Haba had two hits and two runs scored. Franklin clinched the Kelley-Rex division title outright with the win.

Softball
Attleboro @ Taunton – Postponed to Tuesday, 5/23 at 3:45

Stoughton, 10 @ Canton, 5 – Final – Stoughton took a 5-0 lead in the opening innings only to have Canton rally to tie the game in the fourth. The Black Knights regained the lead in the top of the sixth when Alessandra Loffredo beat out an infield single on a two-out grounder that plated Taylor Levine. Karly Estremera went 3-for-4 for Stoughton, scored three runs, and drove in a pair. Brianna Ferrandiz and Jordan Lyons each had two hits and Gina Carafa picked up the win with six strikeouts.

North Attleboro, 11 @ Foxboro, 12 – Final (8 inn.) – North Attleboro’s Meg Barlow (three hits) and Bella Erti (two hits) each had a double and home run but the Rocketeers fell in extra innings. Olivia Capobianco also had three hits and Kristina Murphy and Sam Courtemanche each had two hits for North Attleboro.

King Philip, 6 @ Franklin, 2 – Final – Franklin took a 2-1 lead heading into the final inning but KP rallied for five runs to earn the win. Ally Shea scored both runs for the Panthers while Alexx Niss and Clara DeCarvalho each recording an RBI. Olivia DiGiacomo added two hits for Franklin.

Milford @ Sharon – Postponed to Tuesday, 5/23 at 3:00 at Milford.

Boys Lacrosse
Attleboro, 17 @ Norton, 7 – Final

Foxboro, 9 vs. Xaverian, 11 – Final

Mansfield, 8 vs. St. John’s Shrewsbury, 19 – Final – Mansfield was within two at halftime, trailing just 7-5, but the Pioneers pulled away in the second half. Cullen Murphy and Josh London played well defensively in front of Jack Munroe, who played well in net. Sam O’Connell and Hunter Ferreira paced the Hornets’ offense.

Girls Lacrosse
Attleboro, 9 @ Norton, 8 – Final – Attleboro junior Ali Wall netted the game-winning goal with just four seconds left to lift the Bombardiers over Norton. Kyra Lyons, Mish Logie and Emily Patton each recorded multiple goals in the win.

Canton, 9 vs. Milton, 10 – Final

King Philip @ Bishop Feehan, 4:00

North Attleboro, 8 vs. Walpole, 14 – Final – Chloe Olsen and Kenzie Rosenberg each recorded a hat trick but Big Red fell to Walpole. Kaylin Moulin made 12 saves in goal while Emily Schromm and Olsen each had five draw controls.

Girls Tennis
Taunton, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – Taunton lost just two games in singles action and two more in doubles play in a clean sweep on the road. Olivia Sweeney won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, Jordan Pagliuca notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory at second singles and Jillian Pagliuca grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. Taunton’s first doubles team of Ashleigh Eason and Emily Moor won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Caroline Hebert and Jordan Martin secured a 6-1, 6-1 decision at second doubles.

Canton, 4 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Canton swept singles play and took one more win in doubles play to beat Stoughton. Emma Sokolovsky won 6-0, 6-2 at first singles, Jamie Cree recorded a 3-6, 6-3, 14-12 win at second singles and Kiki Kavaras grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Julia Burkowsky and Jena Moyle prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles. The second doubles match did not finish due to rain.

Foxboro @ North Attleboro – Postponed to Thursday, 5/25 at 3:00.

Franklin scored two runs in the top frame to go up 4-1. Jake Noviello went 6.1 innings for Franklin, striking out nine with four hits allowed to earn the win. Bryan Woelfel picked up the last two outs to earn the save for Franklin. Offensively, Jake Lyons had two hits, including a double, and scored a run, Ryan Hodgkins belted an RBI triple and scored a run and Cam Lupien knocked in a run. Attleboro’s Matt Callahan had two hits, scored a run and drove in two, Dylan Maskell had two hits and an RBI and Tyler Davis reached base four times, stole two bases and scored once. Tyler McGovern was the tough luck loser on the mound, tossing a complete game. “He pitched well, made it tough for us,” said FHS head coach Zach Brown.

Foxboro, 9 @ Canton, 7 – Final – Colin Thoener did it all for the Warriors, tossing a complete game and knocking in a team-high four RBI in a close win over Canton. Thoener scattered seven hits, walked two and struck out five to earn the win while going 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI. AJ Bubencik also had a strong day offensively, going 3-for-4 with three runs and a stolen base and sophomore Anthony Mollica had two hits, three RBI and two stolen bases.

Mansfield, 8 @ King Philip, 5 – Final (8 inn.) – Kevin Dow (2-for-4) knocked in Cullin Anastasia (2-for-3, RBI) for the winning run in the top of the eighth and Aidan Cahill brought in two more insurance runs — Max Boen (2-for-2, RBI) and Matt Farragher — as Mansfield escaped with an 8-5 win in extras at King Philip. Mansfield took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first but KP responded with two in the bottom half. The Hornets tacked on single runs in the second and third to make it 5-2, but KP cut into the deficit with a run in the third and tied the game with two runs in the fifth. Mansfield’s Kyle Moran earned the winning, tossing 3.1 innings in relief with just two hits allowed and two strikeouts. Stephen Murray knocked in two runs for KP while Will Weir (2-for-4, two runs) and Ben Furfari (2-for-4) each knocked in one.

Milford, 2 @ North Attleboro, 9 – Final – North Attleboro junior Peter Cohen shined in his first ever varsity start, allowing just one run on four hits and no walks, striking out five to lead the Rocketeers to a big division win. Offensively, the Rocketeers had nine hits, scoring two runs in the first, five in the second and tacking on single runs in each the third and fifth innings. Zach DeMattio (three RBI) belted a two-run home run in the first and John Brennan had a solo home run in the third.

Oliver Ames, 5 @ Taunton, 8 – Final – Taunton junior Christin Simoes had two hits, including a home run, and knocked in a pair of runs as Taunton prevailed against OA. OA took a 1-0 lead in the first, only for Taunton to respond with two runs in the bottom half. Taunton added three more in the third to take a 5-1 lead. OA didn’t go quietly, tying the game with four runs in the fourth but Taunton added three more in the sixth to get the win. Jacob Crawford added two hits and Matt Machado had one hit and an RBI for Taunton. Tyler Medeiros earned the win on the mound, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts and four earned runs allowed. Oliver Ames’ Cam Johnson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI and Sam Burr added two hits as well.

Sharon, 3 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final – Stoughton overcame a one run deficit with the tying run in the third and then the go-ahead run in the fifth to edge out the Eagles and clinch their second straight Davenport title. Senior Josh Roos delivered the big hit for the Black Knights, connecting for a one-out triple in the fifth and came on a sac fly from Ruben Gonzalez for what turned out to be the winning run. Gonzalez also scored the tying run in the third, scoring on a passed ball after singling and stealing second. Stoughton took the lead with two runs in the first on Luke Johnson’s two-out two-run triple. Johnson also earned the win on the mound, going six innings with three runs allowed on eight hits, three strikeouts and one walk. Evan Gibb pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save.

Softball
Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 3 – Final – Franklin got all three of its runs within the first two innings and junior Jackie Cherry did the rest in the circle, tossing a complete game shutout. Franklin freshman Anna Balkus singled, stole second and used two wild pitched to come home. Ally Shea also scored in the first inning for the Panthers. In the second inning, Cherry helped her own cause, reaching in the second and having courtesy running Emma DiPhilippo scoring the Panthers’ third run. In the circle, Cherry allowed just two hits, issued two walks and struck out five.

Canton, 5 @ Foxboro, 10 – Final

King Philip, 4 @ Mansfield, 0- Final – King Philip Elise Pereira allowed just one hit while fanning 10 batters in a complete game shutout. Jenn Hutnyan paced KP’s offense with three hits, an RBI and a run scored while Hailey McCasland added two this and Faith Turnese contributed with a key pinch hit double. Mansfield’s Sarah Cahill had three strikeouts while giving up eight hits while Megan Letendre had the lone hit of the day for the Hornets.

North Attleboro, 3 @ Milford, 6 – Final – North Attleboro cut into MIlford’s 3-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the third but the Scarlet Hawks had an answer, tacking on two runs in the bottom of the fourth to pick up the win. The teams traded single runs in the sixth inning. Junior Emily Piergustavo paced Milford’s offense, going 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI and two runs scored. Kate Irwin (1-for-3) added three runs, Jess Tomaso had two hits and an RBI and Maggie Farrell reached twice and knocked in one run. MHS head coach Steve DiVitto said Maddy Bonvino “played an exceptional defensive game at second base.” Kelley Reichert picked up the win, going six innings, scattering five hits and striking out one. Ali Atherton earned the save, striking out two in one inning of work. For North Attleboro, Meg Barlow had two hits and a a run scored and Ashley Cangiano drove in pinch runner Kat Munley.

Stoughton, 12 @ Sharon, 0 – Final (6 inn.) – Brianna Ferrandiz went 3-for-3 with three RBI to pace the Black Knights on offense, while Gina Carafa allowed only two hits and struck out nine in a six-inning shutout. Jordan Lyons added two hits and three RBI and Nikki Coppola drilled a three-run homer for Stoughton.

Attleboro, 2 @ Sharon, 10 – Final

Canton, 18 @ Taunton, 0 – Final – Canton senior CJ Martin netted first career goal and then went on to add two more to record a hat trick in the Bulldogs’ big win. Brian Albert and Alec Raguso also scored their first career goals while Connor Proctor and Matt Mackay found the back of the net for the first time this season.

Foxboro, 5 @ Franklin, 9 – Final – Franklin raced out to a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and used that strong start to take down Foxboro. The Panthers gained a 7-3 edge by halftime but were blanked in the third quarter by Foxboro’s defense and the Warriors cut the deficit to three at 7-4 entering the fourth. But Franklin recovered and won the fourth quarter 2-1 to prevail with a win. Eric Civetti had three goals and three assists, Packie Watson also netted a hat trick and had one assist and Nitin Chaudhury had one goal and one assist. Chase Tanner and Jake Davis each added one goal while sophomore Jacob Alexander notched 15 wins at the face off X.

King Philip, 21 @ Milford, 1 – Final

North Attleboro, 12 @ Mansfield, 6 – Final – North Attleboro built a commanding 7-2 lead by halftime and never looked back to notch a key road win and clinch the Davenport division outright. Jason McNeany won 10 of the 15 face offs he participated in to help give Big Red the possession edge. Jack Dakin scored a team-high five goals and added two assists, Zach McGowan (two goals, two assists) totaled four points and McNeany finished with a pair of goals and one assist. Owen Costello also recorded four points for the Rocketeers while Colin Young scored once and had one assist, Tommy Lindstrom added two assists and Hunter Sarro notched one helper.

Girls Lacrosse
Taunton, 12 @ Canton, 14 – Final – Emily Fabbiano scored six goals to lead Canton to a come-from-behind victory, while Mary Kent added a hat trick and Kathryn Doody made 11 saves for the Bulldogs. The Tigers were led by Abbey Kingman’s five goals and four from Alana Tavares, while Lorna Li made 17 saves.

Mansfield, 11 @ North Attleboro, 18 – Final – North clinched its tournament berth with the win and had 14 assists on its 18 goals. Chloe Olsen had four assists, while Julia Dakin, Katie Lindstrom, Kenzie Rosenberg and Erin Holley each had two assists apiece.

Attleboro, 0 @ Franklin, 5 – Final – Franklin bounced back from just its third loss with a sweep of Attleboro, dropping just four games total. Eli Brooks moved up a spot and earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles, Rohan Herur won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Tyler DiPalma, usually a second doubles player, notched a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of James Johnston and Derek Wu continued their strong season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles while Dan Angermeier and Tony Calderone won 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles.

King Philip, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – King Philip prevailed from a competitive divisional match with Mansfield with a close win, taking two wins in singles and one more in doubles. Cole Ginter prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at first singles and Martin Matous recorded a 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. KP’s team of Ryan Gemelli and Marco DiStefano earned a key 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win at first doubles to seal the win. Mansfield’s Luke Nickerson won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles and the team of Gus Daganhardt and Stephen Zenack won 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 5 @ Milford, 0 – Final – It was a clean sweep for the Rocketeers, winning all five matches in straight sets to earn a road victory. Zac Pfeffer won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles, Alex Rinaldi moved up a spot and earned a 6-2, 6-1 at second singles and Alex Pfeffer prevailed from third singles with a 6-4, 6-2 win. The team of Daniel Zhang and Ben Pfeffer won 6-1, 6-4 at first doubles and Andrew Harris and Vikram Senthilakumaran notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – Taunton’s first doubles of sophomores Dylan Kullas and Charlie Fiske emerged victorious from a 10-set super tie breaker to complete the Tigers’ clean sweep. Kullas and Fiske won 6-7, 7-5, 11-9 while the team of junior Kyle Dennehy and freshman Alex Pugh won 6-2, 6-4 at second doubles. Taunton swept singles as well with sophomore Brett Beaulieu (6-1, 6-1), junior Mike Briggs (6-2, 6-2) and senior Eric Gwozdz (6-2, 7-5) all winning in straight sets.

Franklin’s first doubles team of Madison Derby and Julia Hogan won 6-4, 6-3 and juniors Jillian McLaughlin and Alexa Katsaros notched a 7-5, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Foxboro, 5 @ Canton, 0 – Final – Foxboro lost a total of four games in singles play, winning all three matches in straight sets in a win over Canton. Olivia Capobianco reached four times (three hits) and scored two runs, Andrea Miceli was 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and Abby Gallagher recorded a hit, walked, two RBI and scored two runs. Sam Courtemanche, Kristina Murphy, Liz Morehouse and Meg Barlow all finished with two hits apiece for Big Red. Bella Erti struck out six in four innings of work while Olivia DesRoches pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

Franklin, 3 @ Mansfield, 4 – Final – Mansfield scored two runs in the third, added two more in the fourth and never trailed in a close win over Franklin. Marissa Staffier knocked in a pair of runs in the third, bringing home Megan Letendre (double) and Mady Bendanillo (single). In the fourth, Letendre and Bendanillo – who both had two hits on the day – had RBI singles to cap the Hornets’ scoring. Sarah Cahill struck out three while allowing 10 hits in the win. Sharon, 8 vs. Ursuline, 3 – Final – Sharon had its best offensive game of the season in a win over Ursuline, sweeping the season series. Alli Small (2-for-4), Sam Marglous (3-for-3) and Clara Cook (2-for-4) each had extra base hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Eagles. Rebecca Clayman, Shoshana Lowe and Courtney Sollis all contributed with a triple each. Cook notched 10 strikeouts and scattered five hits in a complete game effort.

Other first place finishes for Canton included Steven Brady (triple jump, 39’1″), Riley McDonnell (200M, 23.8), Marquise Montes (long jump, 18’11.25″) and the 4×100 of Montes, Cordell Smith, Dan Pierre and Dan Alice.

Other first place finishes for the Bulldogs include Nicole Brown (100M, 12.9 – a personal best), Jimisha Williams (200M, 27.1 – a personal best), Bronwyn Mahoney (shot put) and Erika Lum (high jump, 4’10”). Canton’s 4×100 of Lum, Williams, Brown and Claire Belisle) also came in first with a state qualifying time of 51.5.

Oliver Ames, 68 @ Mansfield, 68 – Final – The Tigers and Hornets finished level in the final dual meet of the season. For Mansfield, Angela Corkery won the javelin with a 20-foot PR, finished second in the triple jump and was a member of the 4×100 relay (with Jordan Brill-Cass, Julia Harrison and Amanda Mangano) that finished first. Madison Haughey won both the high jump and the long jump and finished second in the 100M hurdles.

Attleboro, 1 @ King Philip, 2 – Final – King Philip’s Ben Furfari was responsible for knocking in both of the Warriors’ runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off victory. Furfari put KP ahead in the first, knocking in Will Weir – double, stole third – on a sacrifice fly. Attleboro tied the game in the sixth, taking advantage of a pair of errors. Kyle Guenthner scored the game-winning run, reaching on an infield single, taking second on an error and coming home a base hit to right from Furfari. Chris Wing tossed 5.2 innings, allowing just one hit with seven strikeouts. Dan Antunes picked up the win in 1.1 innings of work in relief, striking out one without allowing a hit. Tyler McGovern had a strong outing for Big Blue, going 6.1 innings with three strikeouts and one earned run allowed.

Canton, 1 @ North Attleboro, 2 – Final – North Attleboro junior Nick Sinacola threw a no-hitter and the Rocketeers scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off against Canton. In a complete game effort, Sinacola walked three and struck out 13 on 104 pitches. After six scoreless innings, Canton tied the game in the top of the seventh on a pair of walks and a pair of hit batters. Sinacola escaped the bases loaded jam without allowing any further damage. After taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth, the Rocketeers won the game in the bottom of the seventh. Tyler LaFreniere walked and pinch runner Jeff Gale stole second. Gale advanced to third on a base hit from pinch hitter Aidan Harding and then John Brennan brought the winning run home with a sacrifice fly.

Foxboro, 8 @ Sharon, 6 – Final – Colin Thoener had a pair of hits and knocked in a pair of runs and the Warriors took advantage on a pair of two-run doubles in the third to hold off Sharon. Both Cam Feldman and Chad Bearce came through with a two-run double in the third to help starter Aaron Wentling earn the win. Steve McLaughlin came on in relief, getting the final out with the bases loaded to earn the save.

Franklin, 1 @ Oliver Ames, 0 – Final – A pitcher’s duel broke out at Frothingham Park on Monday afternoon between Franklin’s Jake Noviello and Oliver Ames’ Sam Burr. The difference in the game came in the fourth inning when the Panthers scored the lone run of the game. Jake Lyons’ swinging bunt forced an errant throw to first, allowing the Franklin senior to get to second. Lyons moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from sophomore Alex Haba and came home on a sacrifice fly from Ryan Hodgkins. Josh Macchi had a pair of hits for Franklin. Noviello earned the win, allowing just three hits, walking one and striking out five in a complete game effort. Burr scattered six hits without issuing a walk, striking out three in a complete game performance.

Taunton, 2 @ Mansfield, 13 – Final – Mansfield’s offense exploded for seven runs in the first inning and scored all 13 of its runs by the conclusion of the third inning. Max Boen had a team-high four hits, scored twice and knocked in one run, both Zack Peterson (run, RBI) and Cullin Anastasia (four RBI, two runs) had three hits for the Hornets and Aidan Cahill (three runs, RBI) registered a pair of hits. Nolan Dousa earned the win, striking out nine in six innings of work.

Stoughton, 6 @ Milford, 8 – Final – Stoughton got off to a strong start with three runs in the top of the first but Milford had the answer, scoring seven runs in the bottom half off of seven hits. The Black Knights came back with three more runs to make it a one run game in the top of the second, but that would be the closest they’d get the rest of the way. Milford starter Nate Irwin settled down after the first two innings, allowing just three hits the rest of the way with five strikeouts. Ryan Goncalves had three hits and a run scored, Anthony Mobilia cleared the bases with a three-run double in the first inning and Aidan Wilde and Zack Tamagni each recorded a pair of hits for the Scarlet Hawks. Ruben Gonzalez, Jack Connelly and Nick Hardy each had two hits for Stoughton.

Softball
King Philip, 18 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – King Philip’s Jenn Hutnyan didn’t allow a walk or a hit, throwing a perfect game as the Warriors ran away with a big win. Hutnyan helped her own cause, coming up with two hits and four RBI at the dish. Hailey McCasland had four hits, Sydney Phillips added three hits and Meg Gorman, Allie Kuchy, Jess Bonner, Brooke Taute and Brianna Lacy all chipped in with two hits apiece.

North Attleboro, 15 @ Canton, 0 – Final (5 inn.) – Olivia Capobianco had a strong day at the plate and Bella Erti and Olivia DesRoches combined to allow just three hits as the Rocketeers rolled to a big win. Capobianco went 4-for-4 (two doubles) at the plate, recorded five RBI and scored three runs to pace Big Red’s offense. Liz Morehouse added a two-run home run and Abby Warren and Andrea Miceli each scored a pair of runs. Erti threw the first three innings with five strikeouts with five strikeouts while DesRoches allowed just two hits in the final two innings.

Foxboro, 5 @ Sharon, 6 – Final – Sharon trailed 5-1 with two outs in the sixth inning but rallied to pull out the divisional win. Freshman Shoshana Lowe hit a triple with the bases loaded to cut the lead to just one run. Senior captains Sam Marglous and Clara Cook set up the game-tying run and Lowe provided the game-winning run with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh. Cook picked up the win, striking out seven and allowing only two hits for the Eagles. Sharon coach Deb Parker said, “This is what we have seen from this team all year, they are never out of a game and they never stop fighting. I am so proud of the way this team plays day in and day out, they never quit!”

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Franklin, 8 – Final – Franklin struck for six runs over the first three innings and tacked on two more in the fifth to double up on Oliver Ames. Ally Shea paced the offense, going 4-for-4 with four RBI while Anna Balkus chipped with two hits and two stolen bases. Emily Valentino earned the win for the Panthers, striking out three. For Oliver Ames, Katie Mills had a pair of doubles and two RBI, Sarah Tetrault had a pair of hits with a run scored and Caroline Mahoney went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Mansfield, 2 @ Taunton, 5 – Final – Courtney Fisher tossed a complete game to earn the win and Taunton’s offense came up with a pair of home runs to beat out Mansfield under the lights at Jack Tripp Field. Fisher scattered seven hits, striking out five with two walks to earn the win. Katie Van Zandt (2-for-3, double) had a solo home run and Jaylin Couto connected on a two-run blast. Kya Enos (3-for-3, RBI), Hailey Medeiros (RBI) and McKenzie McAloon each had a double for the Tigers. Liz Mackin opened the scoring for the Hornets with a first inning RBI single. In the sixth Marissa Staffer singled to cut the lead to one but the Hornets could not capitalize on a bases loaded situation. Megan Letendre had two hits for Mansfield on the night.

Milford, 14 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Milford’s Kelley Reichert retired 11 batters on strikes, allowing just two hits in six innings of work to earn the win for the Scarlet Hawks. At the plate, Reichert added two hits while Jess Tomaso had a breakout game, going 5-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, a stolen base and two runs scored. Maggie Farrell (3-for-5) had a double and four RBI and Shannon Cormier (3-for-4) scored a run for Milford (19 hits). Karly Estremera, Shannon Flaherty and Nikki Coppola each had a hit for the Black Knights.

King Philip, 12 @ Canton, 2 – Final

Mansfield, 8 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final – Mansfield built a 5-3 advantage halftime, didn’t allow Foxboro to score in the third and owned the fourth quarter to pick up the win. The Hornets won the final quarter 3-1 and forcing a handful of turnovers to secure the win. Sean Powers made 14 saves in net for Mansfield while Cullen Murphy paced the offense with a pair of goals and two assists. Danny DeGirolamo and Joe Cox each scored once and had an assist, Brad Grant netted a pair of goals and Mike Reed and Aidan Sacco each scored once. Tommy Donnelly and Mike Zampine each played well defensively for the Hornets.

Franklin, 10 @ Oliver Ames, 2 – Final – Sam Arsenault scored a hat trick and Eric Civetti and Chase Tanner each netted a pair in Franklin’s win over Oliver Ames. “OA played very well defensively, we had to work for this win,” said FHS head coach Lou Verrochi. Jonathan O’Glishen and Nitin Chaudhury each chipped in with a goal, Jacob Alexander won 14 of 16 face offs and Connor O’Rourke recorded eight saves in the cage for the Panthers.

Sharon, 2 @ North Attleboro, 14 – Final – North Attleboro had a dominate performance in a key league game, limiting Sharon to just one goal until the final minute of play. Zach McGowan paced the big offensive day for the Rocketeers, registering five points (one goal, four assists) while Tommy Lindstrom had four points (one goal, three assists), Colin Young scored a hat trick and Jack Dakin had two goals and one assist. Jason McNeany made a big difference for the Rocketeers, winning 14 of 16 face offs while Dan MacDonald turned aside eight shots in net. Owen Costello scored once and had two assists and Andy DeMattio (goal, assists) finished with two points. Nick Ward, Nick Moore, Nick Morse and Zac Doucette each scored one goal apiece while Hunter Sarro, Damien Curtis and Jack Connolly had one assist.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Franklin, 15 – Final – Annie Walsh registered five points while Erin Walsh, Caroline Lounsbury and Jordan Jette each recorded four points apiece to pace the Panthers past Oliver Ames. Annie Walsh scored four goals and had one assist to go along with Erin Walsh’s four goals, Lounsbury’s three goals and one assist and Jette’s four assists. FHS head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said Grace McDermott (three draw controls, three ground balls) played well defensively. The Panthers’ offensive burst could have been higher if not for an incredible 27-save performance from OA goalie Ari Waldorf.

King Philip, 5 @ Attleboro, 0 – Final – King Philip lost just two games total to sweep Attleboro and qualify for the state tournament. Cole Ginter (first singles) and Blake Ginter (second singles) each won 6-0, 6-0 while Martin Matous registered a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The team of Sam Colella and Ryan Gemelli won 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles and Aidan Ignatius and Jake Webster took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 2 @ Canton, 3 – Final – Canton’s Jake Wolicki dropped the first set at first singles but rallied back to win the next two, finishing it off with a tiebreaker to help the Bulldogs edge North. Wolicki won 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) while Jeevith Chandrasekar won 6-3, 6-4 at second singles and Justin Diep took a 6-3, 6-3 decision at third singles as Canton swept singles play. North’s Daniel Zhang and Ben Pfeffer won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles and Alex Pfeffer and Vikram Senthilakumaran took a 6-1, 6-0 win at second doubles.

Sharon, 5 @ Foxboro, 0 – Final – Sharon earned a sweep against division foe Foxboro, winning all five matches in straight sets. Griffin Fein won 7-5, 6-2 at first singles, Fred Bondar earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles and Andre Olivei won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. Sharon had a pair of dominant performances in doubles play with Alex Romantz and Alberto Olivei recording a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles and Danujan Thirumavalavan and Ashwin Sreevatsa teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 win at second doubles.

Emily Chiasson won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Jordan Willis took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at second singles and Mae McLoughlin earned a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 win at third singles. The team of Azka Siddiq and Katie Demontigny won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and Hana Hershey and Shurobhi and Nandi took a 6-2, 6-3 victory at second doubles.

Foxboro, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Sharon earned a big win over division rival Foxboro, sweeping doubles play and earning two more wins in singles play. Nupur Shukla earned a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at first singles and Lulu Yuan won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles for the Eagles. The team of Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein won 6-0, 6-2 at second doubles. Foxboro’s Lexi Nelson prevailed 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 at second singles.

Franklin, 2 @ Oliver Ames, 3 – Final – After splitting the first four matches, it came down to second doubles between Franklin and Oliver Ames. OA’s team of Olivia Groebe and Kristin Bloumbas prevailed in a three set thrilling, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 to help the Tigers secure the win. Maura Kiernan (third singles) won 6-4, 6-0 and the team of Tori Wyman and Tate Hadges (first doubles) won 6-0, 6-1 for Oliver Ames’ other two points. Franklin’s Hannah Sweeney won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and Anja Deric earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles.

Taunton, 3 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Taunton’s Jillian Pagliuca rallied from dropping the first set to win the next two sets, giving the Tigers the winning point. The Tigers qualified for the state tournament with the win. Pagliuca won 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to secure the final point. Taunton’s other wins came from doubles play as Ashleigh Eason and Emily Moor won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles and Caroline Hebert and Jordan Martin won 6-0, 6-2 at second doubles. Mansfield’s Paulina Martin won 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and Sarah Doyle won 6-3, 6-3 at second singles for the Hornets.

Taunton, 2 @ Braintree, 3 – Final – Taunton rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a game five but came up just shy on the road at Braintree, falling 22-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 11-15. Lance Law had 19 kills, three aces and a block, Malik Charles added eight kills, four blocks and Lens Esquil chipped in with eight kills and five blocks.

Stoughton, 6 @ Canton, 3 – Final – For the second straight game, Stoughton rallied from a deficit and plated the game-winning runs in the seventh innings. Jackson Maffeo’s three-run home run put the Bulldogs ahead 3-0 but Stoughton chipped away, tying the game with two runs in the sixth and went ahead with three runs in the seventh. Ryan Sullivan and Jack Connelly each had a single in the sixth and both came around to score to tie the game. Nick Hardy doubled to lead off the top of the seventh, advanced to third and came home on a double from Sullivan. Luke Johnson followed with a two-run double to put Stoughton up 6-3. Justin Hutchinson earned his seventh win of the seven, tossing three hitless innings with seven strikeouts. Hutchinson struck out the side in the sixth and retired the side in order in the bottom of the seventh.

Foxboro, 1 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Mansfield’s Colin Gibbons launched a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Hornets a close win over Foxboro. Mansfield took the lead in the bottom of the second when Anthony DeGiolamo (1-for-2) drove in Cullin Anastsia (2-for-3). Foxboro tied the game in the top of the third when Anthony Mollica knocked in John Cronin. Gibbons finished with two hits in the game. Connor Sheehan earned the win in a complete game effort, allowing just four hits while striking out four.

King Philip, 1 @ Sharon, 3 – Final – Sharon junior Max Tarlin tossed a complete game and the Eagles’ offense did all of its damage early to notch a non-league win over KP. Tarlin allows five hits, five walks, one earned run and struck out seven in a complete game effort to earn the win. After Ben Stamm battled for a single, junior Drew Naisuler (2-for-3, double) launched a two-run home run to put the Eagles head. Aiden Arnold (2-for-2) followed that with a triple and scored on a single from Danny Emerman. SHS head coach Kee Arguimbau said senior Jake Marglous played incredible defense at catcher for the Eagles.

Milford, 3 @ Taunton, 1 – Final

Softball
Canton, 4 @ Stoughton, 13 – Final – Nikki Coppola went 4-for-4 with two triples and four runs scored and Karly Estremera went 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI to power the Black Knights offense. Gina Carafa had three hits and three RBI and got the win with six innings of work, striking out nine. Shannon Flaherty also had a pair of hits and drove in two for Stoughton. Canton was led offensively by Molly Loughran, who was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles.

Franklin, 9 @ Foxboro, 1 – Final – Franklin scored three runs in the third and added three more in the sixth inning to beat Foxboro in a game continued from Sunday (rain). Franklin held a 1-0 lead when the game resumed. Olivia DiGiacomo (four RBI) went 3-for-4 and put an exclamation point on the day with a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning. Kylie Bouzan added two hits and scored a pair for runs for Franklin. Jackie Cherry pitched four innings, retiring the side in order in the first, second and third innings. Emily Valentino pitched the last three innings and recorded three strikeouts. FHS head coach Kate Fallon Comeau said Tara Hartnett played excellent defense at shortstop.

King Philip, 3 @ Milford, 6 – Final – Holding a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth, Milford tacked on three runs and then held off King Philip’s late comeback attempt. Shannon Cormier went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI, Kaitlin DeCapua had an RBI single, Maddy Bonvino had two hits, including a double, and a run scored and Emily Piergustavo reached base four times and scored one run. Ali Atherton (three strikeouts) earned the win, escaping a pair of jams in both the sixth and seventh innings. King Philip’s Hailey McCasland, Jenn Hutnyan, Jess Bonner and Nicole Carter each had two hits apiece for the Warriors.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Walpole, 13 – Final – Lexie Campbell had a pair of hits while Victoria Ziner (double), Caroline Mahoney and Katie Mills had recorded one hit for the Tigers.

Taunton, 24 @ New Bedford, 0 – Final (5 Innings) – Taunton booked its place in the state tournament with a dominating win against the Whalers. Courtney Fisher and Jaylin Couto combined on a one-hitter and struck out 11 batters. Kya Enos went 3-for-3 with four RBI and homer, Rebekah Lajoie went 5-for-5 with five RBI and a homerun and eighth grader Hannah Aldrich drove in four for the Tigers. Katie Van Zandt (three RBI) and Alexa White also hit homers for Taunton.

Canton, 8 @ Mansfield, 10 – Final – Mansfield goalie Sean Powers turned away 12 shots and Sam O’Connell accounted for four points as the Hornets clipped Canton. Tommy Donnelly and Mike Zampine had strong games on defense in front of Powers. O’Connell scored a hat trick and had one assist while Aidan Sacco scored twice and Cullen Murphy, Hunter Ferreira, Joe Cox and Brad Grant each had a goal and an assist. Danny DeGirolamo also scored once for Mansfield.

The team of senior Alex Romantz and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan won 6-1, 6-7, 6-2 at first doubles and Ashwin Sreevatsa and Alberto Olivei won 6-4, 6-3 at second doubles. Fred Bondar notched a 6-3, 6-1 win at second singles and junior Andre Olivei recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win at third singles.

Sophomore Brett Beaulieu won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Mike Briggs recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles and Eric Gwordz won 6-0, 6-2 at third singles. The team of Charlie Fiske and Dylan Kullas prevailed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at first doubles and Kyle Dennehy and Alex Pugh won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles.

Stoughton, 0 @ Attleboro, 5 – Final – Attleboro won all three singles matches in straight sets and recorded a sweep of the Black Knights. Torey Lussier won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles, Bri Aronne won 7-5, 6-1 at second singles and Anna Nelson emerged from third singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory. The team of Taylor Palermo and Merri Piazza nothched a 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 7-5 win at first doubles and seniors Brooklyn Palermo and Cam Liberatore won 6-0, 6-3 at second doubles.

Canton, 3 @ Milford, 2 – Final – Canton swept doubles play and earned a win at third singles to edge Milford on the road. Kiki Karavas won 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at third singles to help the Bulldogs clinch the match. The team of Julia Burkowsky and Jena Moyle won 7-5, 6-2 and Stelina Michaelidis and Sarah Hernandez won 6-1, 7-5 at second doubles. Milford’s Julie Rabinowitz won 7-5, 6-1 at first singles and Allison Buckenmaier won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles.

Taunton, 5 vs. New Bedford, 0 – Final – Taunton lost just three games in doubles play in a big win over the Whalers. The team of Emily Moor and Ashleigh Eason won without a blemish, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles. Callie Hebert and Jordan Martin recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win at second doubles. In singles play, Olivia Sweeney (first) won 6-1, 6-0, Jordan Pagliuca (second) won 6-3, 6-1 and Jillian Pagliuca (third) won 6-3, 6-2.

Boys Track
Milford, 78 @ Canton, 58 – Final – Canton’s Muhammed Sambo and Cordell Smith each qualified for states but the Bulldogs fell to Milford. Sambo came in first in the 200M at 23.1 while Smith finished first in the high jump (5’10). Gerry Sullivan also came in first for the Bulldogs, clocking in at 2:11.9 in the 800M. Canton swept the 400M hurdles with John Guenthner coming in first (1:01.1), Matt Floyd (1:03.6) coming in second and Riley McDonnell (1:04.00) taking third.

Girls Track
Milford, 78 @ Canton, 58 – Final – Canton’s Bronwyn Mahoney and Sarah Collins each won a pair of events but Milford prevailed with a win. Mahoney took first in the shot put (29’6.5″) and discus (68’8″) and Collins won the 400M hurdles (71.5) and the 800M (2:34.5). Andrea McNeil was first in the one mile (5:57.4) and second in the 800M (2:37.3) and Jimisha Williams crossed first in the 200M (28.0).

Attleboro, 3 @ Foxboro, 4 – Final – Foxboro junior Joe Freitas’ third hit of the game broke a tie game, handing the Warriors the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Freitas (3-for-3) slapped a two-out RBI single to bring the game-winning run home for Foxboro. The Warriors held a 3-1 lead until Attleboro tied the game with two runs in the top of the third. Foxboro’s Colin Thoener tossed a complete game to earn the win, allowing just one hit and no earned runs. He struck out seven.

Oliver Ames, 0 @ Canton, 1 – Final – Canton scored an unearned run in the first and that was all that junior Robbie Wilkinson needed, as he tossed a complete game shutout and allowed only four hits on 76 pitches, striking out two. Sophomore Tom Parker was just about as good on the hill for the Tigers, allowing no earned runs and only four hits in the loss. Sam Burr accounted for two hits for the Tigers.

Franklin, 4 @ Sharon, 0 – Final – Franklin junior Bryan Woelfel tossed a complete game shutout and senior Jake Lyons had three hits to pace the Panthers past Sharon. Woelfel earned the win by going the distance, allowing just four hits, two walks and retiring seven batters on strikes. Lyons had a double and a run scored while Ryan Hodgkins had two hits and a run scored and Tyler Gomes went 1-for-1 with a walk and a sacrifice fly.

King Philip, 8 @ North Attleboro, 7 – Final – King Philip’s offense got off to a strong start with five runs in the first inning but had to rally when the Rocketeers put up seven straight runs. North tied the game with five runs in the second and went up 7-5 on two runs in the fourth. KP tied the game up with two runs in the fifth and knocked in the winning run in the sixth inning. KP totaled 11 hits as a team with Will Weir going 3-for-4, Ben Furfari added two hits and Jeremy Rhines recording two RBI. Jack Webster earned the win in relief while Dan Antunes picked up the save, tossing two innings without giving up a hit.

Mansfield, 12 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Mansfield’s offense wasted little time to get going, scoring two runs in the first inning and then adding on three runs in each the second, third and fourth innings. The Hornets tacked on their final run in the sixth. Colin Gibbons had the big day at the plate for Mansfield, going 2-for-4 with five runs knocked in, Anthony DeGirolamo was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and four runs scored, Matt Farragher had four hits and three runs scored and Max Boen recorded three hits and scored three runs. Kevin Dow earned the win, allowing just one earned run in five innings of work. David Simmons was solid in two innings of relief, allowing just one hit with three strikeouts.

Taunton, 3 @ Stoughton, 4 – Final – Stoughton scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to prevail with a win over Taunton. Canton, 8 @ Oliver Ames, 11 – Final – Oliver Ames surged ahead to take a 9-7 lead in the fifth inning and tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth to beat Canton. Lexie Campbell was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Caroline Mahoney went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI, Rachel Han had a home run and scored a pair of runs, Kayla Georgeu had one hit, two runs and two RBI and Alyssa Gavin added an RBI.

Sharon, 1 @ Franklin, 7 – Final – Franklin’s offense started strong with a pair of runs in the first inning, tacked on single runs in each the third and the fourth and then put an exclamation point on the win with three more runs in the sixth inning. Jackie Cherry earned the win with five innings of work while Emily Valentino earned the save, retiring all six batters she faced. Alexx Niss went 3-for-4 with four RBI to pace Franklin’s offense while Olivia DiGiacomo was 2-for-4 with three runs and two assists from right field and Ally Shea recorded two hit and an RBI. FHS head coach Kate Fallon-Comeau said Tara Hartnett (shortstop) and Alyssa DaSilva (first) both had strong defense games for the Panthers.

North Attleboro, 5 @ King Philip, 6 – Final – King Philip’s Sydney Phillips had a standout performance at the plate, collecting three hits and knocking in two runs to help the Warriors edge Big Red. Nicole Carter also knocked in a pair of runs in KP’s win. Elise Pereira came on in relief and provided two scoreless innings for the Warriors. Ashley Cangiano had a pair of triples and drove in a pair of runs and Sam Courtemanche went 3-for-4 for the Rocketeers. Olivia Capobianco had three stolen bases and two runs scored for North.

Milford, 11 @ Mansfield, 2 – Final – Milford junior Emily Piergustavo hit for the cycle to continue her offense hot streak and the Hawks picked up a big win on the road. Piergsutavo was 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored while Kaitlyn DeCapua also had four hits, scoring once and knocking in three runs. Maggie Farrell was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs score and Maddy Bonvino had two hits, including a triple and an RBI. Kelley Reichert struck out four in a complete game effort to earn the win while also helping the offense with a three-run home run. Sarah Cahill and Caty DeMassi each had a hit Hornets.

Stoughton, 1 @ Taunton, 4 – Final – Eighth grader Kelsey White gave up one unearned run and just four hits in her first varsity start. White struck out nine and walked none in a complete game win. Stoughton took the lead but Taunton tied it in the third with a single run and then took the lead in the fifth on an single by Hannah Aldrich that plated pinch runner Alexa White. A leadoff double in the sixth by McKenzie McAloon started a two-run rally that sealed the win for the Tigers. One run scored on an grounder by Jaime Brown and the second on a single by Kya Enos. Stoughton was led offensively by Karly Estremera with two hits and the team’s lone run.

Attleboro, 2 @ Canton, 6 – Final

Sharon, 3 @ Foxboro, 6 – Final

Franklin, 19 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Thirteen different players found the back of the net as Franklin recorded a league win in its first ever meeting with Stoughton. Zach Alexander recorded a hat trick, including one off an assist from his brother Jacob (goal, two assists). Nitin Chaudhury also had a hat trick for the Panthers.

Taunton, 0 @ King Philip, 23 – Final

Oliver Ames, 1 @ Mansfield, 13 – Final – Tommy Donnelly and Josh London had strong days on defense for the Hornets, who rolled to a big win at home.

North Attleboro, 17 @ Milford, 4 – Final – Andy DeMattio found the back of the net four times, had one assist and scooped up four ground balls to lead the Rocketeers to a big win. Zach McGowan recorded two goals and two assists, Jason McNeany (15 face off wins) scored twice and had one helper, Colin Young, Dan MacDonald and Jack Dackin each scored once and had one assist and Hunter Sarro had a pair of helpers. Nick Ward, Paul Yeomans, Max Fontes, Zac Doucette and Dan Conroy each tallied a goal for the Rocketeers while Jack Connolly had an assist. Jack Puccio (six saves) and Jake McNeany (five saves) split the game in net for North.

Canton, 12 @ Attleboro, 2 – Final

Foxboro, 13 @ Sharon, 12 – Final

Franklin, 15 vs. North Andover, 5 – Final – Franklin sophomore Annie Walsh had a standout performance, netting a team-high six goals to pace the Panthers. Jordan Jette had four assists to go along with one goal, Erin Walsh scored a hat trick and had one helper, Caroline Lounsbury also netted a hat trick and Kelsey MacCallum scored a pair of goals and added one assist. FHS head coach Kristin Igoe Guarino said Halle Atkinson had a strong game in the midfield with two draw controls and two ground balls.

King Philip, 21 @ Taunton, 4 – Final – Katie Crowther led the way for King Philip with six goals and the Warriors had 14 different players tally at least one goal. Caroline Watson made eight saves in net for KP while Christina Hathaway scored her first goal. Olivia Tormey and Caroline Klim each scored two goals in the win. Alana Tavares and Delaney Powell each scored a pair of goals for the Tigers and Lorna Li made 19 saves in the loss.

Mansfield, 14 @ Oliver Ames, 10 – Final – Oliver Ames’ Kendall Clifford found the back of the net five times and Chloe Kikelly scored a hat trick but the Tigers fell just short to Mansfield. OAHA head coach Abby Tepper said Katie Davenport, Sydney Hedrick, Grace McCallum and Dimitra Efremidis all played great defensively. Ari Waldorf made 15 saves in net for the Tigers.

Milford, 4 @ North Attleboro, 16 – Final – Chloe Olsen had three goals and three assists for the Rocketeers. Kenzie Rosenberg and Camille Pizarro each had four goals on the day for North, while Julia Tolfa had a pair of goals and Julia Noreck scored one goal and played stout defense, according to head coach Mike Vitelli.

Sharon, 5 @ Franklin, 0 – Final – Sharon prevailed from a competitive match with a win on the road, taking all five matches in straight sets. Senior Griffin Fein won 6-2, 7-5 at first singles, junior Fred Bondar won 6-4, 6-0 at second singles and junior Andre Olivei won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. The team of senior Alex Romantz and freshman Alberto Olivei recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win at first doubles and sophomore Danujan Thirumavalavan and junior Ashwin Sreevatsa took a 6-3, 6-0 win at second doubles.

North Attleboro, 2 @ King Philip, 3 – Final – King Philip won a pair of matches in singles play and came away with a key win at second doubles to edge Big Red. The team of Aidan Ignatius and Marco DiStefano prevailed with a 6-4, 6-3 win at second doubles for KP while Cole Ginter took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at first singles and Martin Matous notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at third singles. North’s Barsomo Nuay won 6-3, 7-5 at second singles and the team of Daniel Zhang and Ben Pfeffer won 6-2, 6-3 at first doubles.

Stoughton, 1 @ Taunton, 4 – Final – Taunton picked up two wins in singles and two wins in doubles to take down Stoughton. Sophomore Brett Beaulieu won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and junior Mike Briggs took a 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles. The team of sophomores Dylan Kullas and Charlie Fiske won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles and junior Kyle Dennehy and freshman Alex Pugh won 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 at second doubles.

Attleboro, 0 @ Foxboro, 5 – Final – Foxboro won all five matches in straight sets to defend home court against Attleboro. Sophia Prinos notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, Lexi Nelson won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Kayla Prag recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles. The team of Olivia Dantona and Morgan Krockta picked up a 6-3, 6-2 decision at first doubles and the team of Jacey Nicklas and Kendall Milender walked away with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Oliver Ames, 4 @ Canton, 1 – Final – Oliver Ames won at second and third singles and swept doubles play to take down Canton. Claudia Ferrara won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles and Maura Kiernan took a 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 10-5 win at third singles. The team of Tori Wyman and Tate Hadges notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at first doubles and Kristin Bloumbas and Eva Belanger teamed up for a 6-4, 6-4 win at second doubles. Canton’s Emma Sokolovsky won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles.

Franklin, 1 @ Sharon, 4 – Final – Franklin’s Hannah Sweeney recorded a big win at first singles but Sharon only lost one game total in the other four matches to beat the Panthers. Sweeney won 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 at first singles but Sharon’s Emily Zhang and Lulu Yuan each won 6-0, 6-0 at second and third singles, respectively. The team of Katie Merport and Emily Wen won 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles and Rithika Neti and Sophia Fein paired up for a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles.

King Philip, 2 @ North Attleboro, 3 – Final – North Attleboro’s second doubles team of Hana Hershey and Katie Demontigny prevailed in three sets to give Big Red the edge of the Warriors. Hershey and Demontigny won 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at second doubles while Azka Siddiq and Gabby Duva won 6-0, 6-2 at first doubles. Jordan Willis notched North’s lone in singles with a 6-0, 7-5 victory at second singles. KP’s Becca Ricci won 6-2, 6-4 at first singles and Meghan Sepich won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles.

Mansfield, 4 @ Milford, 1 – Final – Mansfield went on the road and swept singles play to notch a win over Milford. Paulina Martin won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Sarah Doyle won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and Elizabeth Elsner completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-4 win at third singles. Mansfield’s fourth win came via Chloe Peters and Tessa Garufi, with a 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles. Milford’s Angela Pillarella and Ashlyn Oliveria won 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 at second doubles.

Taunton, 5 @ Stoughton, 0 – Final – Taunton lost a total of just three games in a convincing win on the road. Vanessa Rosa (third singles) and the team of Ashleigh Eason and Emily Moor (first doubles) both won 6-0, 6-0. Olivia Sweeney (first singles) and Jillian Pagliuca (second singles) each won 6-1, 6-0 while the team of Jordan Martin and Callie Hebert won 6-0, 6-1 at second doubles.

Taunton, 3 @ Quincy, 1 – Final – Taunton’s Nate Grant dished out 43 assists and the Tigers notched their second win over Quincy (25-15, 14-25 25-12, 25-20) in less than a week. Grant also had two kills and three blocks while Lance Law had a team-high 15 kills and had one block. Lens Esquil had five blocks as well as 13 kills while David Fusiecki had 10 kills and 11 digs.
